Coronanews from Bavaria: The Corona Pope

The Querdenker movement is the group that organized last summer’s mass demonstration in Berlin against draconian COVID restrictions. The following article describes the efforts of the Bavarian government to rein in the influence of Querdenker in Bavaria.

Corona Pope Söder wants to review the Querdenker “lateral thinkers”

According to the Bavarian Minister-President Markus Söder (CSU), the protection of the constitution should deal more intensively with the radical elements in the “Querdenker” movement. He was very worried about their commitment to the Corona measures, said Söder to the Münchner Merkur.

The Querdenker (lateral thinker) has become “increasingly sect-like”. CSU chairman Söder spoke of an “isolation of arguments and a radicalization in bubbles.” “Everyone should take a close look at who they are demonstrating with,” warned Söder. “A growing conglomerate is developing of right-wing extremists, Reich citizens, anti-Semites and absurd conspiracy theorists who even accuse politics of Satanism.”

The protection of the constitution must “take a close look at what is developing”. Many of the groups involved in the demonstrations wanted “another state”.
