Gates of Vienna News Feed 10/16/2020

A mentally disturbed man beheaded a schoolteacher on the street in Paris today while shouting “Allahu Akhbar”. Police caught the unfortunate fellow and shot him dead when he refused to surrender. He was reportedly upset that his child had been shown a Charlie Hebdo Mohammed cartoon in class. The authorities are investigating the incident as possibly being terror-related.

In other news, UK Prime Minister Boris “BoJo” Johnson has given up on getting the EU to budge from its position, and now is planning for a clean break no-deal Brexit in January. He may mean January of 2075, but I’m not sure.

Goodbye Middle Class: Half of All American Workers Made Less Than $34,248.45 Last Year

If you are making less than $3,000 a month, you have plenty of company, because about half of the country is in the exact same boat. The Social Security Administration just released new wage statistics for 2019, and they are pretty startling. To me, the most alarming thing in the entire report is the fact that the median yearly wage was just $34,248.45 last year. In other words, half of all American workers made less than $34,248.45 in 2019, and half of all American workers made more than $34,248.45. That isn’t a whole lot of money. In fact, when you divide $34,248.45 by 12 you get just $2,854.05. Needless to say, it is not easy to survive in America today on just $2,854.05 a month, and this may help to explain why we have been seeing so many people fall out of the middle class in recent years.

The Economic Implosion of 2020: Job Losses Ramp Up Again as Millions of Americans Continue to Slide Into Poverty

The mainstream media keeps trying to convince us that things are about to get a whole lot better for the U.S. economy, but instead they just keep getting worse. On Thursday, we learned that another 898,000 Americans filed new claims for unemployment benefits last week. That was the highest number that we have seen since August, and it is yet more evidence that a new wave of layoffs has begun. But according to the experts that the mainstream media relies upon, this wasn’t supposed to happen. According to them, the number of Americans filing for unemployment benefits was supposed to be steadily tapering off as the U.S. economy shifted into recovery mode. Unfortunately for all of us, those experts have been dead wrong.

Yesterday, I wrote about the decline of the middle class in our country, and here in 2020 this pandemic has greatly accelerated that process.

In fact, one new study has found that almost 8 million more Americans have plunged into poverty just since May…

[Comment: This is by design and the true purpose of the lockdown. To destroy the middle class. A strong middle class is a bulwark against implementation of communism. The booga booga fear about COVID whose rate of death is less than the flu, as WHO finally admitted, is just a cover for the Great Reset, i.e. the Great Theft.]

71% of Tech Professionals Say There’s Anti-Conservative Bias in Tech

Real world power and influence that various tech companies, social media-focused or otherwise, wield these days to shape and sway public opinion in pretty much every corner of the globe is immense; with communication and human interactions moving online — thanks to the global societal and economic crisis caused by the response to the coronavirus pandemic — this is an issue more pertinent today than ever before.

And in the US, mere weeks ahead of a presidential election that is shaping up to be even more dramatic than the one in 2016 (if you can believe it) — the issue of whether Big Tech exhibits ideological bias, becomes to all intents and purposes crucial.

America is a Representative Republic, Not a Democracy

For many years I have observed the increase in the number of people who believe America is a Democracy. We are not and we never have been. Our founders hated democracies.

The word “Democracy” never entered the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of the United States. The United States is not a democracy, and our founders used strong words to make clear that their nation should never become one.

Consider some of the following statements concerning the issue:

At Least 118 Officers Have Left the Seattle Police Department in 2020

At least 118 officers have left the Seattle police force this year, leaving only 1,200 officers to cover the city of nearly 745,000 people.

Of these, 39 officers left in September, a month that sees a half dozen or so leave the force in a typical year. The numbers for the year included lateral moves to other agencies, as well as retirements. The largest group, however, were those who simply resigned. Many of these officers left after the city announced budget cuts to the force following demonstrations by politically left groups such as Antifa and the establishment of the so-called autonomous zone earlier this year. Former Police Chief Carmen Best was one of the first to resign.

Barnes & Noble Hacked, Systems Taken Offline for Days, Miscreants May Have Swiped Personal Info

Updated Barnes and Noble tonight confirmed it was hacked, and that its customers’ personal information may have been accessed by the intruders. The cyber-break-in forced the bookseller to take its systems offline this week to clean up the mess. See our update at the end of this piece. Our original report follows.

Bookseller Barnes and Noble’s computer network fell over this week, and its IT staff are having to restore servers from backups.

The effects of the collapse were first felt on Sunday, with owners of B&N’s Nook tablets discovering they were unable to download their purchased e-books to their gadgets nor buy new ones. That is to say, if they had bought an e-book and hadn’t downloaded it to their device before B&N’s cloud imploded, they would be unable to open and read the digital tome. The bookseller’s Android and Windows 10 apps were similarly affected.

It soon became clear the problem was quite serious when some cash registers in Barnes and Noble’s physical stores also briefly stopped working.

One Register reader told us that as a result of the downtime:…

Caroline Glick: American Jewry’s Most Fateful Election

Almost all the polls say that President Donald Trump is heading towards defeat at the hands of his Democrat challenger, former vice president Joe Biden next month. But Robert Cahaly who heads the Trafalgar Group polling firm disagrees. Cahaly was the only major pollster that accurately called the 2016 presidential race. In an interview with “The Political Trade” podcast last week, Cahaly said his data show Trump headed for another upset victory November 3.

Cahaly said that today, as in 2016, the disparity between his numbers and the marquis polling firms’ numbers owes to the latter’s systematic neglect of what he calls the “Shy Trump Voter Effect.”

From the time Hillary Clinton referred to Trump’s supporters as “deplorables,” through today as Democrats demonize them as racists and fascists, Cahaly explains that a significant and growing segment of Trump voters will not admit their support for him. Fearing social and professional repercussions, the Shy Trump Voter lies to pollsters and anyone else who asks him what he thinks of Trump.

Cahaly said that he goes to great lengths to correct for the Shy Trump Voter Effect in his polls and the other polling firms ignore the phenomenon.

The Shy Trump Voter Effect makes intuitive sense for anyone watching the cancel culture in America grow more menacing by the day. One of the communities where it likely plays a role is the American Jewish community.

The Jewish community has been one of the most intolerant communities towards Trump supporters. After the Tree of Life massacre two years ago, leading Jewish intellectuals called for synagogues to ban Trump voters from entering their prayer halls. The day that the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain signed peace agreements with Israel at the White House, the Jewish Democratic Council of America ran an ad comparing Trump to Hitler. For the past year, the goal of the Jewish arm of the Democrat Party has been to portray Trump as the gravest threat to the American Jewish community.

And it isn’t just Jewish notables propagating hatred and fear of Trump and his supporters..

Congress Wants to Cut “Misinformation” As Researchers Demand Platforms Hand Over Data on Users Who Share it

With growing time, citizens have become increasingly concerned about internet censorship. Based on recent happenings, it becomes clear that governments’ efforts in the realm of censorship are only going to get stronger.

This week, the House Permanent Select Committee of the US government held an open hearing on “Misinformation and Conspiracy Theories Online.” The hearing saw several expert witnesses weigh in on how to censor content more. The COVID-19 saga combined with the upcoming presidential elections in the USA has resulted in a massive rise of what they deem “conspiracy theories” online, with QAnon being the most victimized and, despite the US constitution’s First Amendment, it hasn’t stopped congress from flirting with the idea of pressuring social media platforms to takedown things when they don’t agree with it.

Evers Faces Third Lawsuit Over Authority to Make Coronavirus Restrictions

MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers faces a third lawsuit challenging his authority to issue emergency orders to combat the coronavirus pandemic without legislative approval.

The lawsuit comes the same day a top Republican lawmaker said the Legislature would not convene a floor session to vote down the governor’s health emergency that is subject of multiple legal challenges.

Jeré Fabick, a prominent GOP donor and policy adviser at the conservative Heartland Institute who lives in Waukesha County, filed a lawsuit on Friday asking the state Supreme Court to take up the suit that argues Evers overstepped his authority by issuing new emergency orders after his initial health emergency expired.

Hollywood is Dying, And the Elites Don’t Care…

by Brandon Smith

If you have been noticing a severe decline in the quality of American entertainment over the course of the past decade, you are not the only one. 70% of Americans say they would rather stay home and watch movies instead of paying to go to theaters, even if theaters reopen. Industry spin doctors will claim that the drop in interest is due solely to the coronavirus, but this is a lie. Domestic movie attendance hit a 25 year low in 2017, and this is part of a long term slide which was building for years beforehand.

It’s important to note that when I talk about “Hollywood” I’m including the internet streaming services, which are completely intertwined with the Hollywood machine. While streaming services have been growing (to a point) because of the pandemic lockdowns, the subscription jump is an anomaly compared to the past few years. Netflix in particular was on a severe slide in subscriptions before the pandemic hit, and with the “Cuties” child pornography debacle it will be interesting to see how many subscribers jumped ship in the final quarter of 2020.

Another interesting development among streaming services is that the most popular content is in most cases OLD content. Shows and movies from 10 to 20 years ago draw the most views by far. New content consistently fails, and this is happening among all demographics from Gen Z to Baby Boomers. This says a lot about modern Hollywood’s decline.

The point is, Hollywood was crashing well before the pandemic and the reason is clearly related to the change in priorities from making money and making consumers happy to making value statements regardless of logic or practicality. There is a massive evolution going on, and the public is growing tired of the controlled pop culture paradigm as well as the intrusive zealotry of new hyper-political messaging.

How Trump Can Outwit the Deep State and Remain in Power

If President Trump wins the November election, it will be a miracle. But miracles happen. Former Trump Campaign Deputy Chairman Rick Gates says the “Trump Factor” could be even bigger this year and that the projected “Blue Wave” could end up in ruins.

If not, as the results come in, Trump will have to make the case in a national television address that the intelligence agencies have been misusing federal resources and government power for political purposes. He will have to argue that the election process has been subverted by the use of taxpayer and government resources to keep the Deep State in power. He will have to say that Big Tech companies, under the control of left-wing activists, abused their monopoly power under federal law to destroy the ability of his campaign to participate in a free and fair election.

With Trump, our last freely elected president in power, he will have no choice but to remain in the White House until the gross attacks on our democratic republic and our rights as free Americans come to an end.

These steps are necessary because, in my more than 40 years in Washington, D.C., I have never seen an alignment of forces like this mobilized against a freely elected president. This goes far beyond partisanship to subversion and treason.

The forces and personalities arrayed against Trump include China, Russia, the Vatican, the United Nations, the CIA, the FBI, Wall Street, billionaires such as George Soros and Mike Bloomberg, organizations such as the Council on Foreign Relations, the Democratic Party, and some in the Republican Party and the “conservative movement.”

Trump, Republicans Furious With U.S. Attorney John Durham for Delay Issuing Indictments

Donald Trump and Republicans are furious that U.S. Attorney John Durham has not brought indictments against senior people who spied on the president’s campaign, lied repeatedly to judges in order to do it, and based their intrusions on specious evidence, which they knew to be false — and had been commissioned by the opposition political party. We know the broad outlines of this coordinated operation, but we still don’t know its full extent, all those involved, and what precise roles they played.

Attorney General William Barr promised major developments in this probe by late spring, then mid-summer, then Labor Day, and now sometime after the election. If, as Republicans say (and the evidence seems to show), there was a systematic effort to weaponize federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies for political purposes, the public has a compelling right to know. This need-to-know is urgent because the Democrats’ presidential nominee, Joe Biden, served as the second-highest ranking member of the administration that conducted these acts.

Why have Barr and Durham delayed issuing indictments or producing a comprehensive report? There are two ways to view this riddle.

On Wednesday, Clara Sia of Sandbox Strategies PR and influencer agency, decided that “the one right thing” she was going to do that day, was to call out the creator behind the Worth A Buy YouTube channel as sexist and “possibly racist.”

The apparent reason was a review of Second Extinction, published on the channel. Sia announced on Twitter with eery ease, that she was making public her harsh assessment of the character of the creator (referred also to as “mother*er” and “piece of s***” in her various tweets) — apparently encouraged by the game’s publisher (Systemic Reaction).

Czech National Football Team Kneels for Black Lives Matter Movement, Fans Express Outrage

The Czech national football team lost to Scotland 0:1 on Wednesday, but many fans focused more on the behavior of the national team before the start of the match instead of its on-field performance. Czech footballers, along with referees and Scottish players, knelt in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Most fans on social networks expressed outrage with their move, pointing out that politics do not belong in football.

Kneeling before the start of a sporting event in support of the violent BLM movement has become a pattern in recent months west of the Czech border, whether it was before football matches of the English Premier League or Formula 1 races. And now, the Czech national football team has also joined this trend, according to Czech news portal Echo 24.

Did You Know the Little Known Rule About Organ Donation in France?

While in many countries you have to opt in to be an organ donor, it doesn’t work that way in France.

France operates with a principle of presumed organ donation, which means French citizens who do not wish to donate their organs on their death must register to opt out.

This has been the case since the Loi Caillavet (‘Caillavet Law’) was passed in 1976, making everyone an organ donor except for those who have explicitly refused, as well as minors, and those under someone else’s guardianship (such as the mentally disabled).

Farage Praises Boris for ‘Right Solution’ In Preparing UK for No Deal

Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage has said that Prime Minister Boris Johnson has made the “right decision” in telling the UK to prepare for no deal.

France: ‘You Will Pay’: 2015 Paris Terror Attacks Suspect Threatens Police Witness in Court

Ali Riza Polat, believed to be an accomplice of the terrorists who carried out deadly attacks in Paris in early 2015, has threatened a police witness as she was testifying in a French court.

The 35-year-old suspect delivered an angry outburst on Friday while a policewoman from an anti-terror unit gave her account of Polat’s shift towards radical Islamism. She said the suspect “shared the religious convictions of his friend Amedy Coulibaly,” the man who killed a police officer and four civilians at a Kosher supermarket in January 2015. The attacks came right after another two terrorists stormed the headquarters of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, killing 12 and injuring 11 more.

The officer’s testimony angered Polat, who had reportedly been making punching gestures at the defendant’s glass box, before he verbally threatened the witness.

“You will pay for this,” he shouted.

The attacker — who was also armed with a gun and was shot dead moments later by cops — was the father of a student at the school who may have had terrorist ties, according to Le Parisien and Le Monde.

Pro-LGBT Artist Paints Shocking Mural in Warsaw Targeting the Church and the Police

A mural painted by a pro-LGBT artist in Warsaw presents Poland as a homophobic country while also targeting the nation’s police forces, according to critics of the artwork.

The mural appeared on a squat in Warsaw’s center and is supposedly meant to draw attention to the difficult situation of LGBT people in Poland. In this case, however, the mural’s purpose seems to just be creating enmity towards the police and the Church. It also crosses the line of public decency due to its very graphic content.

The mural is currently not currently visible to pedestrians as it is out of public view and in one of the city’s backyards, but the Polish media outlet Gazeta Wyborcza described the mural as follows: “A gallows is present and next to it is a bishop on one side and a policeman on the other. They are sawing a body hung by its feet. The tortured body is bleeding rainbow blood.”

WHO Now Admits COVID-19 Infection Fatality Rate is Much Lower Than Expected

A review of COVID-19 studies from the World Health Organization indicates that median COVID-19 infection fatality rates are only 0.23% — much lower than initially anticipated. Early data from China suggested a 3.4% fatality rate.

The latest data were gathered from 61 studies across 51 locations that showed true infection fatality rates ranged from zero % to 1.63%, with a corrected value of zero % to 1.54%.

Study author John Ioannidis noted that “The inferred median infection fatality rate in locations with a COVID-19 mortality rate lower than the global average is low (0.09%). If one could sample equally from all locations globally, the median infection fatality rate might be even substantially lower than the 0.23% observed in my analysis.”

    • Israel backs Azerbaijan, there is no point in Armenians quarreling with Azeris/Turks there

  1. There is a lot of catching up to do. With the Muslims and their White feminist contributors running free of charge we have no future. Merkel and her western ilk stabbed Europe in the back. We are occupied by a merciless Godless parasite. Shame on us to tolerate such.

    • Cowboys. A two-bit operation. Now forever getting weaker wasting energy forcing misfits into round holes. Mr Chancer.

  2. He was not “mentally disturbed” Baron! He was a fully sane observant Muslim acting in accordance w/ the explicit diktats of his religion; namely, that anyone insulting MadMo must be killed. Him, and his fellow “18-year old” (proved later to be 25) Pakistani moslem who went on stabbing spree last week are being hailed as heroes in Islamic societies, including those in America!

(or perhaps you were being sarcastic, sorry if I missed that, and a regular reader of your blog, you know me well)

    • Yes. I am constantly practicing deadpan sarcasm and irony in preparation for the coming full crackdown on free speech, so that we will all be forced into subtlety and indirection in our humor, soviet-style.

    • Poland has also given refuge to these Muslim monsters fleeing from Russia. When Trump transfers troops from Germany to Poland – guess what? What a dumb act is so called diversity. As soon as the fifth column prone Muslims reach a certain number the demand for their own independent territory and above all laws begins? Guess what?
