Big Apple Downsized: New Yorkers Ready to Leave Their City

The Big Apple could soon get down-sized. Well-heeled New Yorkers continue to grapple with the challenges posed by life in New York City under Democratic leadership and trying circumstances. New research from the Manhattan Institute, a think tank espousing free market ideas, reveals a very glum situation in good old Gotham.

The organization cites the grim reality among residents who earn $100,000 or more. They make up 80% of New York City’s income-tax revenue, placing the city government at risk to “tax-base erosion.” Personal income tax, in fact accounts for 22% of the city’s overall take in tax revenues. Many residents have had just about enough.

“We found that 44% of high-income New Yorkers say that they have considered relocating outside the city in the past four months, with cost of living cited as the biggest reason. More than half of high-income New Yorkers are working entirely from home, and nearly two-thirds believe that this will be the new normal for the city. Of those considering leaving New York City, 30% say that the possibility of working remotely makes it more likely that they will move,” the analysis reports, citing the institute’s succinct new poll of high earners.

COVID — Why Terminology Really, Really Matters

To start with, we have the mangling of the concept of a ‘case’.

Previously, in the world of infectious diseases, it has been accepted that a ‘case’ represents someone with symptoms, usually severe symptoms, usually severe enough to be admitted to hospital. Here, from Wikipedia… yes, I know, but on this sort of stuff they are a good resource.

‘In epidemiology, a case fatality rate (CFR) — sometimes called case fatality risk or disease lethality — is the proportion of deaths from a certain disease compared to the total number of symptomatic people diagnosed with the disease.’

Note the word symptomatic i.e. someone with symptoms.

However, now we stick a swab up someone’s nose, who feels completely well, or very mildly ill. We find that they have some COVID particles lodged up there, and we call them a case of COVID. Sigh, thud!

A symptomless, or even mildly symptomatic positive swab is not a case. Never, in recorded history, has this been true. However, now we have an almost unquestioned acceptance that a positive swab represents a case of COVID. This is then parroted on all the news channels as if it were gospel.

I note that, at last, some people are beginning to question how it can be that, whilst cases are going up and up, deaths are going down, and down.

Democratic Senators Introduce Bill That Creates COVID “Misinformation” Task Force to Kill Dissent

And yet, somehow, we’re still hearing from some quarters that none of this has been enough.

Federal Court Order Prohibits Employees in TN School District From Leading Prayers, Organizing Religious Events, Or Citing Religious Readings

Employees of a Tennessee school district are now prohibited by a federal court orderfrom leading prayers at school events, organizing or leading religious events, and citing or assigning religious texts without a non-religious, educational purpose.

Smith County School System, based in Carthage, Tennessee, has agreed to the order, which is technically known as a consent decree, to settle a lawsuit brought against the district in 2019. The Tennessee chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union brought the suit, alleging that the district has engaged in “unconstitutional activities.”

The ACLU alleged that teachers and coaches lead prayers at school assemblies and sporting events, and read Bible verses in classes. The suit also said the district invited a Christian organization to hand out Bibles to students.

In the End: The Rioters Are Obama’s Army

“We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded [as the military].” — Barack Obama, 2008

If Hillary Clinton had been elected as our president in 2016 and was seeking reelection in November, George Floyd would probably still have met his unfortunate end on May 25 in Minneapolis after a police officer kneeled on his neck during his arrest. Video footage of the incident would still have elicited outrage and touched off demonstrations — but that’s where the similarity to actual events would have ended.

Had Hillary Clinton been our president, when it became clear that the officers involved in Floyd’s death were to be prosecuted, any protests that had arisen would have died down and the focus would have been on those prosecutions. Incidents such as the tragic death of Breonna Taylor, who was fatally shot by police in her Louisville, Kentucky, apartment six months ago following the horribly flawed execution of a no-knock warrant would have been handled through quiet legal diplomacy and the rule of law.

Why such a different outcome with only the replacement of a chief executive? The answer is simple: If Hillary Clinton were our president and facing re-election, the radicals who have been terrorizing our cities for the past six months would have been ordered to stand down — or more accurately, they never would have been given their marching orders to start with.

Mail-in Voting? A “Political Question” Which Only State Legislatures and Congress May Decide

It has become obvious that one of the purposes of the COVID-19 scam is to bring about unrestricted mail-in voting in the toss-up and Red States so that the upcoming presidential election can be stolen by the Left for the senile Joe Biden and his constitutionally ineligible running mate, Kamila Harris.

On September 9, 2020, the Left achieved their goal for the Red State of Tennessee — unless the Tennessee State government enforces the US Constitution and rejects the federal judge’s unconstitutional order.

1. The absurd Order from the US District Court, Middle District of Tennessee

The Tennessee Code permits mail-in voting for certain categories of people [Tenn. Code §2-6-201]; but requires those who register by mail to appear in person at the official place of voting and bring proof of identity when they vote for the first time [Tenn. Code § 2-2-115 (b) (7)].

Our elections are already tainted by the “ghost voters” described in Deroy Murdock’s article (published 2017) [here]. Murdock showed that throughout the United States, over 3.5 million persons who didn’t exist were registered to vote. But that number wasn’t sufficient to elect Hillary Clinton; so the Left needs more ghost voters. With mail-in voter registration, dead people can be registered to vote; and with unrestricted mail-in voting, those dead people can vote forever.

Mike Ditka Tells NFL Players: “if You Can’t Respect This Country, Get the Hell Out of it”

It was just days ago that we noted the NFL’s ratings for Sunday Night Football this past week tanked significantly. We noted that this year’s NFL season seems to be more about social justice and Covid precautions instead of; well, playing football.

It appears that legendary coach Mike Ditka agrees. Ditka appeared on Newsmax this week to talk about the state of the NFL, offering up a scathing critique of how he believes that the league has lost its way.

Ditka told the host: “Football’s football. It’s not a complicated thing. You’re playing the game, you’re enjoying the game. You don’t like the game, get out of it. It’s not for protesting one way or the other. What color you are, what you think, this or that. You play football. That’s it.”

He continued: “You’re privileged. You got a gift from God that you can play the game because you got a body you can do it with. I don’t really understand what you’re protesting. I played the game. I coached the game for a long time. It makes no sense to me.”

The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania has ruled that election officials will have three days after Election Day to count mail-in ballots after the Democratic Party of Pennsylvania requested the extension.

More than 1.4 million people cast mail-in ballots in that election, which deluged the system and left results of some races undecided for weeks. Almost 40,000 primary ballots were canceled, or not counted, due to late return or discrepancies.

Juan Fernando Lopez Aguilar comes from the Canary Islands, is a doctor of law, and a committed member of the Spanish Socialist Workers Party (PSOE) since 1983.

He is an MEP for the Socialist and Democrat Group and is attempting to have Poland sanctioned under Article 7 of the Lisbon Treaty.

UK: Boris Criticises ‘Abusive’ EU for Not Negotiating in ‘Good Faith’

Britain technically left the EU in January, but remains a member-state in all but name until the end of the ongoing “transition” period at the end of the year, while a new partnership is negotiated — or not.

The Case for Trump’s Nobel Peace Prize

by Morgan Deane

International lawmakers recently nominated President Donald Trump for the Nobel Prize. This has inspired a great deal of ridicule and mocking from elites around the world. But when a person takes out their emotions and perceptions, and instead considers Trump’s record compared to other Nobel Prize winners like Barrack Obama a strong case can be made that Trump deserves the prize.

Trump’s Peace Brokering Record

We can begin with Trump’s record. Many people who follow and comment on politics can’t get past his rhetoric. But his blunt style is an important part of cutting through palavering elites that have produced a failed status quo.

Most recently Trump has achieved breakthroughs in Arab-Israeli deals and in the Balkans. These are the events that earned him the nomination. Critics use various arguments to say these don’t matter. The United Arab Emirates isn’t the biggest country and isn’t even a regional power. They contend that Trump accidently gets a few things right including fixing relations between Israel and the UAE. But this is only the third instance of a country recognizing Israel, and it was quickly followed by a wave of change.

Tucker Slams Facebook Censorship of Chinese Virologist: “it’s Turning US Into the Soviet Union”

Authored by Sam Dorman, op-ed via FoxNews.com

Facebook and other tech giants have engaged in a troubling pattern of censoring speech surrounding major issues in the coronavirus debate, Fox News host Tucker Carlson argued during his Wednesday night monologue.

Carlson’s comments came after Facebook slapped a warning label on video of his Tuesday interview with Chinese virologist Dr. Li-Meng Yan, who claimed to have evidence showing China “intentionally” released COVID-19 onto the general population.

“Within a few hours of her interview last night,” Carlson said, “a video of the segment reached 1.3 million people on Facebook.”

  1. BBC ” SUBSCRIBERS”? Just to be clear, if you watch free to air broadcast BBC and you don’t have a licence you are committing a criminal offence. Britons regard this as government TV anyway so resent the licence in addition to regular taxes, particularly as the BBC has declared war on Brexit, the Conservative Party and have proven to be a safe zone for paedophiles for many decades

  2. “Compulsory Solidarity System”
Brussels wants to abolish self-determination of EU countries in migration policy

In September, Ursula von der Leyens EU Commission wants to present a proposal for a joint EU, asylum and migration pact. The Swedish EU commissioner responsible for home affairs, the communist Ylva Johansson (PI-NEWS reported on the lady) , is supposed to solve the “migration crisis” of Europe in the next few days.

In an interview with the Swedish TV broadcaster SVT Nyheter, the lady revealed quite unabashedly that Brussels wants to increase its influence with the new legislative package and further undermine the national sovereignty of the EU member states. Johansson will make proposals that countries lose the right to decide how many migrants and refugees they will take in. Instead, power and authority are transferred centrally to Brussels.

“That would mean that we get order and justice for refugees. We need a common legal framework and Sweden is one of the countries that support a compulsory solidarity system in which all countries participate and contribute, said Johansson. “There is no migration crisis in Europe, but there are migrants in crisis”.

Danish People’s Party wants to build a four-meter-high fence to Germany

2015 must not be repeated, it was said again and again. And they do it again. Germany takes around 3000 Moria migrants. But that’s not all. According to the new EU, Asylum and Migration Pact (see above) “Germany would also participate to an appropriate extent according to the size of our country,” said government spokesman Steffen Seibert.

Germany’s repeated solo attempts have raised concerns among our hyggelike neighbor Denmark that thousands of immigrants with Islam in their rucksacks could again pour over the German border into their small country. The Danish People’s Party would therefore like to protect Denmark with a four meter high fence. The material is already there. In 2015, the former Liberal government bought what it takes to build a 69-kilometer barbed wire fence.

On Wednesday, Ursula von der Leyen continued to drive the division of Europe in her address on the State of the EU: The EU should be climate neutral by 2050 and the admission of boat migrants must be part of the EU migration policy. Rescue at sea is mandatory and not optional, thanks to (thanks) Corona the time for a health union has come. She also announced the appointment of an EU envoy for the fight against racism: “Brussels will act against all forms of discrimination, regardless of whether it is based on race, religion, gender or sexuality”.

Brouscella – Brussels – in Old Dutch means “settlement in the swamp”. Lesbos is a micro version of what will happen to Europe through the EU.

Danish People’s Party: We should erect a four meter high barbed wire fence towards Germany

Denmark should not be put to bed if a new refugee crisis arises with migrants who in thousands roll over the border, says leader of the Danish People’s Party, Kristian Thulesen Dahl , in a newspaper interview.

The materials have already been purchased. When the crisis came in 2015, the former Liberal government bought what is needed to build a security fence.

The task will be handled by the Danish Armed Forces. It is a 69-kilometer-long barbed wire fence that is similar to what Hungary has set up along the border with Serbia.

    COMMUNIST EU POLITBURO

    • This is the end of Europe, and Germany is responsible for this horror, protect your daughters and wife’s , Merkel&CO , again preparing something very exciting for all Europeans.. it’s so sad .,

  3. The communist Ylva Johansson speaks of “order and justice for refugees”.
For European taxpayers this means disorder and injustice.

  4. Muslims have arms ammo explosives stored across Europe’ including ammonium nitrate that caused Beirut blast. Foot soldiers everywhere just waiting for their orders.

    • In case it has escaped your notice, but there are miles of bunkers and tunnels filled with weapons from WW2 through the cold war ready to use at a moments notice in the former Warsaw pact nations and Ukraine.

        • Mark H, those pesky warsaw pact nations and Russians were very nice to collect all those weapons and keep them in cool dry places with no air in them to keep corrosion away. There are literally hundreds of miles of those bunkers filled to the brim with things that are going to come in very handy soon.
