US Q3 GDP Now Seen Surging 20% by Atlanta Fed

One day after the BEA reported last Thursday that US GDP crashed an annualized 32.9% in the second quarter, the biggest drop since the great depression…

[…]the Atlanta Fed published its first GDPNow “nowcast” estimate for the third quarter, which came in at a relative subdued 11.9%, and far below sellside consensus estimates of an 18% print in the third quarter.

Perhaps shamed by Wall Street optimism, just one day business later the Atlanta Fed moments ago announced that its latest revision as of Aug 3 pushed up its Q3 GDP estimate by a whopping 65%, and its GDPNow model now estimates that real GDP growth in the third quarter of 2020 is 19.6%. The reason for the massive repricing? This morning’s Manufacturing ISM Report (which beat expectations) and construction spending report (which missed badly).

Domestic Violence Deaths Up 86% in Indiana, Local Organization Says

INDIANAPOLIS — Domestic violence calls and domestic violence deaths in Indiana are on the rise, and advocates say the increase is directly related to COVID-19.

In a span of less than eight hours on July 27, two people were shot and killed in Carmel and another person was shot and killed on Indy’s west side during domestic incidents.

These are just three of at least eight domestic violence deaths in central Indiana last month, as cases become more violent and more frequent.

“It’s incredibly concerning,” said Laura Berry, executive director of the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence. “We’ve seen an 86% increase in domestic violence related death, and we can clearly contribute this to COVID.”

[Comment: I would rather say that it is not COVID-19, but the state’s response to it, that contributes to violence related death.]

This Indian Slum Contained a Possible COVID-19 Disaster With Hydroxychloroquine

July 22, 2020 (American Thinker) — On July 9, 2020, Asia’s biggest and densest slum shocked the world by announcing just one new positive COVID-19 case despite being a cluster and hotspot.

Dharavi is no ordinary slum. It is one of the densest in the world, housing more than a million people. It provided some of the background for the Oscar-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire.

Dharavi contains pockets where as many as 650,000 people are crammed into 2.5 square kilometers. In comparison, New York City has only around 95,605 people for 2.5 square kilometers.

Chinese Propaganda Campaign Blames Pandemic on U.S. Army Facility Closed in 1969

Chinese propagandists are casting blame for the coronavirus pandemic on a U.S. military research lab that shuttered its biowarfare division more than 50 years ago.

Chinese diplomats and state-run media outlets have repeatedly spread the conspiracy that the coronavirus originated in Maryland’s Fort Detrick research lab, often in response to criticism about the country’s response to the pandemic.

“Speaking of the truth, we would like the U.S. government to tell the truth about the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases at Fort Detrick, Maryland, to U.S. and the international community,” Wang Wenbin, Chinese foreign ministry spokesman, said on July 22.

The US Has Started to Identify the Mystery Seeds Being Sent From China

It was just about week ago that we highlighted a mysterious trend that was sweeping the U.S.: citizens were receiving unsolicited packages of seeds, with return addresses from China, for apparently no reason at all.

Now, the U.S. has started to identify “14 types of plants” that the seeds belonged to, revealing a “mix of ornamental, fruit and vegetable, herb and weed species,” according to the NY Times. Cabbage, hibiscus, lavender, mint, morning glory, mustard, rose, rosemary and sage have all been identified.

Osama El-Lissy of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service said: “This is just a subset of the samples we’ve collected so far.”

Medvedev Says Migrants in Russia Committing More Crime as Unemployment Skyrockets

Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, said the nation’s migrants are committing more crimes amid mass unemployment due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Medvedev told a meeting of the Security Council on August 3 that about 40 percent of migrants in Russia lost their jobs during the pandemic.

“This, of course, creates a breeding ground for the growth of crime, potentially, in this area,” he said.

Russia’s Interior Ministry on July 25 accused migrants of “egregious cases” of extremism, “gross violation” of public order, and unauthorized mass protests.

Two days later, on July 27, Russia’s Federal Security Service said it killed a Tajik migrant who it claims planned a terrorist attack in Moscow.

The Four Horsemen of the Open Society Apocalypse: Communism, Liberalism, Globalism, And Racism

The Open Society project has simultaneously unleashed the four horsemen of the apocalypse on the world from its supposedly superior moral and ethical standpoint, Hungarian sociologist Balint Botond writes in a commentary in conservative daily Magyar Nemzet:

The Open Society project, funded by George Soros, is evidently reaching its conclusion. Having had now openly embraced racism, the ideology it wants to force on the world is now nearly complete. We must regard the Open Society project for the real danger it represents, leaving aside any idealism. This is neither a social initiative, nor the attempt of a billionaire madman to take over power, but is instead an attempt to unleash the combined forces of all known evils against the existing world order.

  1. “Swedish government party wants to force Imams, Rabbis to wed homosexuals. Despite Sweden’s Marriage Code becoming gender neutral in 2009, only a handful of religious congregations marry gay couples. The Green Party, the ruling Social Democrats’ sidekicks, want to make it illegal to refuse same-sex marriage.” How dominant of the Swedes. What’s a blood thirsty Devils own Islamist rapist in the street to do?

  2. I am glad I’m old. The world seems to be going ever crazier by the day. Our Constitution is being shredded bit by bit on an almost daily basis. Government is ever more overweening and aggressive. At this rate, we won’t have any rights at all left to us.

If government can barge into your house without a warrant, I wonder what they’ll be doing next? Brave New World, with a monitor installed in every home, to spy on the citizenry? Horrors!

    • “If government can barge into your home without a warrant” is one thing. There still remains a working legal system. The fait accompli is that our mortal enemies have literally barged and other boated themselves in to our national home. Personally I am in shock. When the numbers reach attack level followers of islam I can easily imagine will come kicking our doors down for fun. Fully supported by all the other iPhonies from all points north south east and west. Like it or not – it is.

  3. I can’t see the word “diversity” anymore without reflexively thinking of the genetic implications of the word. Diversity is only desirable insofar as it prevents inbreeding within an otherwise genetically refined population. But our communist-backed politicians are pushing it as a primary directive, meant to chip-away at our refinement and bring us down below the developmental level of our nearest competitors – mainly China and Russia – both of whom are relatively refined in their populations.

  4. Today I received such a comment from a woman living in Sweden about the murder of a 12-year-old Polish girl, Adriana Ostrowski, by a stray bullet.

…. The girl was a Polish woman, and her mother was an “inkwell” (as in Russia they call white women cohabitating with Asians or blacks) and lived with an Iraqi! And yet, this girl did not walk the dog, but hung out with her friends until three in the morning, while her mother and her Iraqi boyfriend celebrated her birthday on the other side of the city, leaving her 12 year old child alone in the apartment for the night. There the mother is visible that still a whore!

  5. In the France of the good old days of visas, permits and disease control it was nigh on impossible for the rats to emerge from the sewers unnoticed to bite at will. Young women had to go to Lebanon or some other brothel wife life “wife” to partake of their own self distraction. Most returned a while later broken and scarred. Oh well.

  6. Lebanon. Beirut. How incredibly sad. At least we of the Western European countries can sleep secure in the knowledge that day by day in every way we grow stronger and stronger. Thanks to the new diversity that Islam and its feminist *h**e * created there are strong unemotional rational halves and wholes with fingers on the buttons nuclear or otherwise. No? There was I thinking again……..
