Bronx Mother of 3 Killed, 23 Shot in NYC Weekend Gun Violence
A 25-year-old mother of three children living in the Bronx was shot and killed in the back of the head early Saturday morning, authorities confirmed.
Priscilla Vasquez is the latest victim of gun violence in New York City that has ripped parents, relatives and even children away from families. The mother was gunned down just before 5:30 a.m. on East 152nd Street, around the corner from where she lived in the Melrose section of the Bronx.

Chinese Consulate in Houston Intervened in US Political Movement
Radio Free Asia (RFA) published an article explaining the reason that the U.S. closed China’s Consulate in Houston.
The article stated that the U.S. has known that the staff members at the consulate were conducting suspicious activities, but, for a while, it did not take any action. The Second Department of China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA), which is the PLA’s intelligence unit, sent staff members from a large network company, with fake IDs, to China’s Consulate in Houston. Those technicians used a large video platform’s backend data to identify people who might participate in the Black Lives Matter (BLM) and ANTIFA’s protests and then created and sent them customized videos on how to organize riots and how to do promotions.

Dueling Portland Clashes Shut Down Streets, As Police Try to Manage Chaos
Portland faced another day of violent protests between right— and left-wing extremists as hundreds clashed Saturday afternoon, forcing the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) to declare an unlawful assembly.
A far-right group planned a “No to Marxism in America” rally at the Terry Schrunk Plaza near the courthouse at noon, following a Black Lives Matter (BLM) counterprotest scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m.

Exclusive: Feds Investigate Fordham for Punishing Student Who Posed With Gun
The U.S. Department of Education has opened an investigation into Fordham University, about two months after student Austin Tong received notification from the New York City private college that his social media posts violated university policy and that he had been placed on probation.
As Campus Reform previously reported, Tong, a Chinese-American student, posted on Instagram in early June a photo of retired St. Louis police officer David Dorn, who was killed while defending a friend’s store from looters amid nationwide, violent demonstrations. The post contained an image of Dorn, who was Black, along with the caption, “Y’all a bunch of hypocrites.” Another post showed Tong holding a firearm pointed toward the ground with the caption “Don’t tread on me #198964” and emojis of the American flag as well as the Chinese flag.

A contractor who was working at a Florida airport opened up a container to find a live missile.
The shocking find happened on Friday afternoon at Lakeland Linder International Airport east of Tampa.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation provides over $250 million dollars in funding to news organizations, charitable organizations affiliated with news outlets, journalistic organizations, and fact-checking groups that regularly give investor and philanthropist Bill Gates and the Gates Foundation favorable coverage, according to an in-depth report from Columbia Journalism Review (CJR).
The Gates Foundation provides this funding through charitable grants and has given over $2 million to groups such as fact-checker Africa Check($1.48 million), media company Gannett ($499,651), and the journalism school the Poynter Institute ($382,997). These groups have defended or favorably covered Gates and the Gates Foundation in their fact-checks.

Portland’s rolling riot took several disturbing new turns Friday night.
That city, run by Democrats, is besieged by violent rioters night after night and has been for more than 80 days. As the police attempt to de-escalate the situation, the rioters double down and re-escalate. Another word for “de-escalation,” based on Portland’s experience, might be “emboldening.”

Seattle Business Owner Moving Shop Out of Downtown Due to Increasing Violence
SEATTLE (KOMO) — Brian Nordwall has seen enough of the mayhem to pack up shop.

St. Pete Protester Caught With Molotov Cocktail, Loaded Gun, Police Say
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A St. Petersburg protester has been charged with terrorist activity after police discovered a Molotov cocktail in his car that was parked outside of police headquarters.
Police arrested 26-year-old Abraham Quraishi for inciting a riot and resisting arrest with violence during a June 3 protest outside of police headquarters.
The arrest was reported on the following day as Chief Anthony Holloway described how Quraishi threw a round of ammunition at the direction of officers during the protest. Officers soon realized Quraishi was carrying a loaded firearm without a permit.

California’s Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom is urging the residents of his failed state to turn their thermostats up to 78 degrees.
Here are some highlights from the governor’s August 20 guidelines:
- Set your thermostat to 78° or higher between 3 and 10 P.M.
- Refrain from major appliance use between 3 and 10 P.M.
- Postpone using major appliances like the oven, dishwasher, clothes washer, and dryer until cooler times of the day to avoid heating up your home.
- Run your dishwasher and clothes washer only when full. Wait until after 9 p.m. to use these and other major appliances.
- When possible, wash clothes in cold water. About 90 percent of the energy used in a clothes washer goes to water heating.

President Trump said Saturday that he was prepared to once again send in National Guard troops to cities if asked, following the 86th consecutive night of chaos in Portland, Oregon.

Wave of Violence Frustrates Toledo; 2020 on Pace for Homicide Record
Toledo resident Linda Watson has lost two nephews to shootings and feels abandoned by authorities, as if her neighborhood and the people in it are viewed as lost causes.
“You see our blocks,” Ms. Watson said. “We can’t get any help. It’s just this negative concept they have. They don’t care. The attitude toward the kids in this area is so bad. That’s why there’s so much trouble with police.”

Coronavirus: In Slovenia 37 New Cases in 24 Hours

(ANSAmed) — BELGRADE, AUGUST 19 — A total of 37 new cases of coronavirus were registered in Slovenia over the past 24 hours on Wednesday, 10 more compared to Tuesday. Regional media said the total number of cases since the start of the epidemic now stands at 2,493, with the number of deaths holding steady at 129. There are 17 people currently hospitalised, three of whom are in intensive care. Authorities in Ljubljana said many of the infections in recent weeks have been “imported” from people coming back from holidays in nearby Croatia, and the authorities haven’t excluded the possibility of placing restrictive measures on people entering from that country. In June, Slovenia was on the brink of declaring an end to the epidemic, but in recent weeks cases have begun to rise sharply, as in other countries in the Balkans region.

Muslim Girl in France Had Head Shaved Over Christian Boyfriend
The parents, uncle and aunt of a teenager of Bosnian Muslim origin will face trial in France on charges of violence against a minor for shaving her head over her relationship with a Christian Serbian boy, prosecutors said Friday.
The girl had her hair shaven off and was also beaten in the eastern city of Besancon on Monday, judicial sources said.
“Shaved and beaten because she ‘loved a Christian’. Deeply shocked by this act of torture on this 17-year-old girl,” French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin wrote on Twitter.

Oradour-Sur-Glane: France’s Best-Known Nazi Massacre Site Vandalised
French President Emmanuel Macron has condemned as “unspeakable” the defacing of a memorial at the site of one of the worst atrocities carried out by the Nazis in France during World War Two.
Images of an inscription at the site in the village of Oradour-sur-Glane show the word “martyr” in the text “martyr village” replaced with “liar”.
The village was destroyed by SS troops in 1944, with 642 inhabitants killed.
The old village’s ruins are preserved just as they were after the massacre.
Philippe Lacroix, mayor of the new village, said he was shocked, adding: “We know what happened here but obviously there are always people who try to tell lies.”
Mr Macron said that everything would be done to track down and punish those responsible for the vandalism.
The act has been widely condemned by French officials.
Prime Minister Jean Castex said he felt “anger” when he heard of the incident. “To soil this place… is also to soil the memory of our martyrs,” he said.

Report: Elderly Swedish Lady Stabbed by Man Who ‘Hates White Women’
A Swedish woman in her sixties was the victim of a stabbing on Friday afternoon, allegedly by a man who expressed hatred for white women.
The stabbing took place in the city of Stockholm in the Södermalm area in the centre of the city just after noon. Police say the suspect involved threatened the woman and tried to rob her before stabbing her and running away from the scene.

UK: Walworth Park Attack: Man ‘Stabbed by Knife-Wielding Gang’
A man was stabbed by a group of men armed with baseball bats and knives as “distressed” children looked on, witnesses have said.
The 24-year-old victim was attacked in Nursery Row Park, Walworth, south London, at about 17:20 BST on Friday.
The victim reportedly collapsed in the middle of East Street Market as traders were packing away for the evening.
He remains in a critical condition, the Metropolitan Police said. No arrests have been made.

In February 2011, protests began in Libya and quickly evolved into a widespread revolution against the regime of strongman Muammar Gaddafi. The protests were inspired by the Arab Spring revolutions that swept numerous countries in the Arab world.
The NATO Intervention in Libya and Overthrow of Gaddafi
As Gaddafi’s crackdown on protesters intensified, the United Nations authorized military intervention in Libya to protect civilians. On March 17, NATO initiated its military assault, launching aerial attacks on government forces and imposing a no-fly zone.
As protesters gained the upper hand against the Gaddafi’s regime, the Libyan strongman came out to warn in August 2011 that the revolt in the country was a “conspiracy to control Libya’s oil.”
“There is a conspiracy to control Libyan oil and to control Libyan land and to colonize Libya once again,” he said in an audio message to his supporters.
Two months after this message, Gaddafi was captured by his opponents, dragged and killed in his hometown city of Sirte.

Turkey: Another Former Byzantine Church Becomes Mosque
Chora Church, currently museum, follows Hagia Sophia
(ANSA) — ROME, AUGUST 21 — Turkey issued a new presidential decree that turns Chora Church, a Byzantine church currently that became a museum after WWII, into a mosque, according to Greek daily Kathimerini.
The move follows the transformation of the Hagia Sophia — first a Byzantine church, then a mosque, then a museum — back into a mosque.
The change of status was approved in December 2019, but the decision by the Turkish Council of State hadn’t been implemented.
Chora Church was built in the 4th century, rebuilt between 1077 and 1081, and then rebuilt once again in the 12th century after a partial collapse due to an earthquake.
It contains valuable Byzantine-era mosaics and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

16-year-old Tribal Girl in gang raped, murdered and dumped into a septic tank in West Bengal’s Jalpaiguri District. Three Muslims arrested.

Three Muslims (read Rape Jihadi) viz. Rahaman Ali (of Pradhan Para), Jamirul Haque (of Shoulmari) and Tamirul Haque (of Dangamari) have been arrested in connection with the gangrape and murder incident, and when produced before the court on Friday, they were remanded to eight days of police custody.
The girl, a resident of Sannyasikata in Rajganj and class 10th student went missing on August 10, following which her family lodged a police complaint, officials said.
Local people say, the grown up girl was under the scanner of the sex monger Muslim trio for some months and tried to abuse the girl from sexual angel in early occasions.
Police on Thursday arrested three persons, and during interrogation, they confessed to have raped and killed the girl on August 15, officials said, adding that the body was then dumped in the septic tank.
The body was taken out from the septic tank of a house in Pradhan Para (near Rahaman Ali’s house) later that night, police said.
Local TMC MLA Khageswar Roy has met the girl’s family and demanded death penalty for the accused.

As US Tells Colleges to Divest From China, Students Use Code Names to Evade CCP
Concerns from professors at prominent universities regarding how to teach subjects online that could be censored by the Chinese government are being voiced as the upcoming fall semester approaches for many universities. Professors are concerned that the online classes and coursework could have a detrimental impact on students if flagged by Chinese authorities.
On July 1, China passed a new national security law that makes it illegal to engage in activities promoting the secession of Hong Kong as well as to collude with foreign entities in an effort to subvert the government in Hong Kong.
The law would also apply to any person who commits these offenses, even outside of Hong Kong, even in the U.S.

Over 350 Elephants Mysteriously Drop Dead
Elephants are one of nature’s most glorious animals — massive, smart, social, and adorned with splendid trunks they use for everything from drinking water to showing affection to their young to fighting.
But in spite of their intimidating size, elephants are at risk in many countries, mostly because poachers butcher them and take their tusks, which are valuable in everything from the jewelry trade to traditional Chinese folk medicine.
In some places they are so at risk they are considered endangered, and fines and prison sentences await anyone who has the audacity to break local laws and poach them for the ivory of their tusks.
Botswana has one of the Africa’s largest elephant populations, with estimates at about 130,000 in total, according to wildlife experts. Now, however, that number has been reduced because of a mysterious series of deaths — hundreds of elephants, more than 350, have died in the Okavango Delta.
There is no known cause of the deaths yet — not drought, not poaching, experts say, as the tusks of the dead animals were untouched. They simply died where they stood, falling forward and perishing right on the spot in the delta.

Migrants have declared they will never give up in their desperate quest to reach the UK even after seeing one of their own peers drown in the process.
MailOnline spoke to several migrants who came from the former war zone of Sudan where civilians were massacred.
Some said they had been arrested and taken off lorries handcuffed at the Calais Ferry port ‘many times’, but would never give up.

Homosexual male prostitutes, most of whom are South American, are said to be behind at least 15 arson attacks as they fight over territory in a Roman park.
All of the arson attacks have taken place at the Appian Way Regional Park, a massive 3,400-hectare common and the largest urban park in all of Europe.

Over 5,000 Illegal Migrants Have Now Landed in Britain in 2020
Over 5,000 illegal boat migrants have reached the United Kingdom in small rubber dinghies from France since the start of the year, analysis from the Press Association on Friday found.
The massive increase in illegal boat migration this summer has forced the British government to deploy Royal Air Force (RAF) planes to the English Channel to assist the UK Border Force in the growing crisis.

Spain to Build 30-Foot Walls Around Its African Cities to Stop Illegal Migrants
Spain’s socialist government plans to build 30-foot high walls around its North African enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla to stop illegal migrants.
The new border structures will dwarf the current fencing around the two Spanish cities on the North African coast, which is around 10 feet tall and topped with barbed wire.

Sweden’s population growth in 2020 is the lowest it has been in 15 years due to the Chinese coronavirus pandemic stalling mass immigration.
Statistics Sweden figures reveal that in the first six months of this year, Sweden saw half the population growth of the same period in 2019.

Bishop: I Don’t See How Joe Biden Claims to be a ‘Good and Faithful Catholic’
Tennessee Bishop Rick Stika questioned Joe Biden’s standing as a Catholic on Friday, basing that on Biden’s public stance against Church teaching regarding abortion.
“Don’t understand how Mr. Biden can claim to be a good and faithful Catholic as he denies so much of Church teaching especially on the absolute child abuse and human rights violations of the most innocent, the not yet born,” wrote Bishop Stika on Twitter Friday.

Netflix Apologises for ‘Sexualising’ Young Girls in French Film Promo
Video streaming giant Netflix has apologised after its promotional material for a French film sparked accusations that it was sexualising young girls.
The award-winning Cuties (Mignonnes in its French release) follows 11-year-old black girl Amy as she grows up in a working-class area of Paris, defies her family and becomes aware of her burgeoning sexuality.
The poster promoting the film in France shows four brightly dressed girls throwing confetti as they walk up a street.
However, in the United States and internationally Netflix chose an image showing the four young stars posing in tight costumes baring their legs and midriffs…
