Economists estimated that the country would lose 7.5 million jobs. The unemployment rate was expected to hit 19%. A boost in leisure and hospitalitydrove the job gains.

Caroline Glick: The Great Threat to America — And to American Jewry

Scattered among the thousands of cellphone videos depicting looting and destruction in the streets of America’s greatest cities are clips of a different sort. In these short videos, we see throngs of white people on their knees, bowing before black people and asking for forgiveness for their “white privilege” and the “structural racism” in the deplorable, irredeemable United States of America.

Earlier this week, presumptive Democratic presidential nominee former vice president Joe Biden symbolically embraced these genuflecting denunciations of “white privilege” as the official position of the Democratic Party. Biden had himself photographed on bended knee with a group of African Americans standing behind him during a visit to a church in Wilmington, Delaware.

These videos point to a socio-political phenomenon that sparked the riots throughout the country following George Floyd’s brutal death at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer. They also make clear the reason that the liberal media in the U.S. continues to back the protests despite the fact that from the outset they have involved wide-scale violence, destruction and looting.

Contrary to the narrative being pushed by the media and America’s elites, the riots are not an consequence of increased police brutality towards African Americans. As Heather McDonald documented this week in the Wall Street Journal, over the past several years, police violence against black people has decreased significantly.

The violence we are seeing is a result of the steep radicalization of progressive white Americans. Biden gave voice to this radicalization last summer when, during a campaign appearance in Iowa he said, “We choose truth over facts.”…

Despite the recent riots over police brutality, Rasmussen has indicated that black approval for the job President Trump is doing is now over 40%.

“Our Daily Presidential Tracking poll today shows Black Likely Voter approval of the job @realDonaldTrump is now over 40%,” tweeted the polling agency.

The full results of the poll are yet to be published, but the number suggests that the media’s campaign to frame Trump’s response to the riots as draconian and racist has completely failed.

Universal Masking in the COVID-19 Era

We understand that some people are citing our Perspective article (published on April 1 at NEJM.org)1 as support for discrediting widespread masking. In truth, the intent of our article was to push for more masking, not less. It is apparent that many people with SARS-CoV-2 infection are asymptomatic or presymptomatic yet highly contagious and that these people account for a substantial fraction of all transmissions.2,3 Universal masking helps to prevent such people from spreading virus-laden secretions, whether they recognize that they are infected or not.4

We did state in the article that “wearing a mask outside health care facilities offers little, if any, protection from infection,” but as the rest of the paragraph makes clear, we intended this statement to apply to passing encounters in public spaces, not sustained interactions within closed environments. A growing body of research shows that the risk of SARS-CoV-2 transmission is strongly correlated with the duration and intensity of contact: the risk of transmission among household members can be as high as 40%, whereas the risk of transmission from less intense and less sustained encounters is below 5%.5-7 This finding is also borne out by recent research associating mask wearing with less transmission of SARS-CoV-2, particularly in closed settings.8 We therefore strongly support the calls of public health agencies for all people to wear masks when circumstances compel them to be within 6 ft of others for sustained periods.

While Anarchists Fail, Americans Prevail

What followed is the anarchy and chaos of the last several days and nights with the brazenly anti-American,anti-Semitic and racist Antifa and Black Lives Matter rampaging through American cities and suburbs, destroying businesses, stealing multi millions of dollars of goods, burning cars, defacing monuments, shooting people, throwing the Molotov cocktails and bricks left for them in strategic spots by their fellow thugs, and generally giving the world an up-close, three-dimensional picture of what clinicians call sociopaths and psychopaths.

To me, the entire spectacle has the distinctly noxious whiff of Barack Obama’s Organizing for Action, as spelled out by writer Scott S. Powell, who explains that, “The modus operandi of OFA comes right out of Obama’s support and sympathy for Marxism and his background as a left-wing community organizer. It’s a combination of agitation and propaganda—much like old-style Soviet agitprop, and Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals. For Alinsky, the rules start with an ends-justifies-the— means quest for power, which can entail lawbreaking, deception, and concealing the true revolutionary agenda…”

Powell quotes Paul Sperry who presciently wrote in the New York Post: “Obama has an army of agitators—numbering more than 30,000—who will fight his Republican successor at every turn of his historic presidency…and command them from a bunker less than two miles from the White House.”

“His OFA Washington HQ is now the nerve center that coordinates 250 offices nationwide,” Sperry continued, “which together with its Chicago-based sister organization, the Community Organizing Institute (COI), are planning to facilitate the “training [of] more than 2 million youths in Alinsky street tactics” and carry out plans “to stage 400 rallies across 42 states to attack Trump and Republicans over ObamaCare’s repeal.”

From the looks of things today, it’d clear that they put Obamacare aside for the bigger fish of national chaos and destruction.

With Little Social Distancing, Whitmer Marches With Protesters

Highland Park — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who’s voiced concerns about other demonstrations potentially spreading COVID-19 in recent weeks, participated Thursday in a civil rights march in Highland Park with hundreds of people who did not follow social distancing rules.

Whitmer drew criticism after she stood shoulder to shoulder with some march participants, who included Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan. From the front line to last, the marchers started at Highland Park city hall and were a rolling quarter-mile of humanity traveling southbound on Woodward, with the skyline of downtown Detroit in the distance ahead, as a caravan of Detroit and Highland Park police vehicles escorted them while a helicopter buzzed overhead.

“Social distancing is critical to stop the spread of COVID-19 — unless you have a great photo op,” state Rep. Lynn Afenoudlis, R-Grand Rapids Township, tweeted.

The chair of Parliament’s Home Affairs Committee of the UK, Yvette Cooper, has challenged YouTube, saying that its algorithm is not working as it should because it is promoting misinformation that people do not seek voluntarily.

Exposing Sick Roots of “Sex Ed” — Kinsey, CIA & Child Abuse

Leftists Are Angry That LEGO hasn’t Virtue Signalled Hard Enough

Mentally deranged leftists are angry that toy maker LEGO hasn’t acted woke enough after the company clarified that it had only withdrawn advertising for certain products associated with police and not the toys themselves, while others seriously argued that there are too many LEGO police in LEGO City.

  2. My Canada is swirling down the toilet bowl, at an alarming rate.

The latest is Idiot Justin Turdeau doing the kneeling thing. While being protected by police, of course. I saw this on (of all things) a CBC news clip (of all things – there must be some passive-aggressive people there!), where obviously plainclothes people were all around him. Obviously because of the walkie-talkie wire.

As I put it now: “It’s no longer our country, they’re just letting us think that it is for a while longer.”

    Depressing.

  3. In our country, television and radio hosts say that Russians are to blame for the whole world. They speak sadly, their eyes reflect the millennial longing of the God-chosen people, they hardly pronounce the Russian letter “R”, and say: “If I am Russian, then I am guilty of the atrocities of Stalin and Ivan the Terrible, I must take the blame for the crimes of tsarism and Soviet power …. ”
Moreover, the grandchildren of communist functionaries and the grandchildren of those who executed the Russians in the Gulag talk about this.
They constantly say in prime there on the radio when I stand in traffic on the way home. But for some reason this does not work, but rather annoying.
