Dow Caps Off Best Quarter Since 1987 as Strong Economic Data Drives Gains

US stocks rose on Tuesday as better-than-expected economic data outweighed mounting concern over a second wave of COVID-19 cases.

The Dow Jones industrial average’s 18% gain in the three-month period from April through June marked the index’s best quarterly return since 1987. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 saw its best gain since 1998 during the period, while the Nasdaq capped off its best quarter since 2001.

Equities got a lift from data showing US consumer confidence jumped in June by the most since 2011, exceeding consensus economist forecasts.

Italy: Tension Between PD and M5S Over Whether to Use ESM

Can examine pros and cons when time is right says Gualtieri

(ANSA) — ROME, JUN 30 — There is tension between the two biggest parties supporting Premier Giuseppe Conte’s government, the 5-Star Movement (M5S) and the Democratic Party (PD), over whether Italy should apply for funding from the European Stability Mechanism in the wake of the coronavirus emergency.

The PD is in favour of taking up the option to obtain dozens of billions of euros from the bailout fund at zero interest.

But the M5S is against this, fearful that use of the fund could come with strings attached, even though the EU says there will not be any as long as the money is used for health spending.

Economy Minister Roberto Gualtieri, a PD member, has been trying to mediate.

“We can examine all the pro and cons with the M5S experts when the time is right,” he said.

In an interview with Tuesday’s edition of La Stampa, meanwhile, Foreign Minister and M5S heavyweight Luigi Di Maio called for a “profound fiscal reform starting from (income tax) IRPEF”.

Di Maio also said that any reform would not affect the ‘citizenship wage basic income that was one of the M5S’s key manifesto pledges.

On the use of the ESM, the head of the CIGL trade union, Italy’s biggest and most leftwing, Maurizio Landini, said “we cannot squander this unrepeatable opportunity.” He said “it is also an opportunity to change Europe”.

But one of the M5S’s representatives on the Lower House finance committee, Giovanni Currò , said his party’s opposition to using the bailout mechanism did not stem from “stubborn ideological positions” but from “serious economic arguments”.

Currò said “those who say the ESM is an adequate instrument, able to boost our country’s economy, cannot be more wrong.

“The ESM is an inefficient, anachronistic and potentially damaging tool”.

The centre-right opposition is also against using the ESM for fear it would put Italian taxpayers’ savings at risk, according to the leader of the largest opposition force, Matteo Salvini of the nationalist and formerly regionalist League party.

On Tuesday he urged the government to put the ESM issue to a debate in parliament “and we will see how parliament, which is sovereign, decides”.

Now: The World’s Ruling Class Puppets Start Pushing the Great Reset

The New World Order is on a roll. The world’s ruling classes are now publically pushing the “Great Reset” on us. The people who got extremely wealthy following by selling out humanity to the international banking cartel are here to convince you that everything needs to reset under a NWO.

The crazy part is that some people seem pretty excited about it. They actually believe that the same criminals who have been robbing them blind while creating money out of thin air for themselves and the government are going to wipe away their debts and “allow” them to live peacefully in a home that they won’t have to pay off and those same bankers will expect nothing in return. Wake up. Central banks are the problem and the owners of them are the Zionist International Banking Cartel that is the NWO.

Under This New Law, Cryptocurrency Could Become Illegal

Over the past few months while everyone has been in mandatory isolation, cowering in fear in their homes… and over the past few weeks while the Land of the Free has been consumed with rage…

[…]a few US Senators have once again proven that chilling political adage— ‘never let a good crisis go to waste.’

Exhibit A: Senate Bill 4051, the “Lawful Access to Encrypted Data Act”, which was quietly introduced last week when everyone’s attention was consumed elsewhere.

First thing’s first, like all freedom-killing bills, this one has a catchy name.

The Lawful Access to Encrypted Data Act is LEAD for short, as in “Move over China! The Land of the Free will LEAD the way in destroying the last remaining freedoms of its citizens.”

(In that way it seems more like ‘lead’, the highly toxic metal that poisons the brain and creates severe intellectual disability.)

At its core, the LEAD Act is an encryption killer. It aims to require technology companies to build ‘back doors’ into their products to ensure that the government can remotely access your data, your device, and your life.

This is nothing short of earth shattering.

Unemployment in Israel Rises to 21% After Lockdown

Social tensions growing, nearly 800 infections in 24 hours

TEL AVIV — The Israel Employment Service said Tuesday that the country’s unemployment rate has risen to 21%, two months since the gradual reopening of the country’s economy. In February, before the coronavirus health crisis, the unemployment rate was just 3.4%. The country’s social security service said that during the lockdown, more than one million people filed for unemployment benefits. In the meantime, 400,000 people have returned to work while 670,000 still need unemployment, and social unrest is beginning to increase.

Davar said 5,000 employees in the tourism sector protested on Tuesday in Jerusalem, claiming that government aid was inadequate for the sector, which is important for the national economy and at risk of collapsing. Similar protests were previously carried out by workers in the entertainment sector and by social workers.

A finance ministry report said distance learning risks increasing social inequalities between those who have internet access at home and those who don’t.

On the coronavirus front, the situation in the country is increasingly worrisome. The number of positive cases rose on Tuesday to 24,688, an increase of 781 cases in 24 hours, according to health ministry figures. Currently 7,096 people are ill with coronavirus, compared to 5,000 one week ago. A total of 320 people have died from the virus, and 17,272 people have recovered. The relationship between positive cases and the overall number of daily tests is also growing, from 2.6% last week to 4.2% this week.

On Monday, after two days of meetings, the government approved a series of restrictions to limit contact between people as much as possible without excessively damaging the job market.

College Student Will Face Terrorist Threat Charges Over “Snowflakes” Snapchat Post, After Dismissal Rejected

University students who should have their whole life ahead of them are seemingly getting steamrollered all over the place these days in the US for doing what young people tend to do — express themselves, and make real or perceived “tonal” mistakes in the process.

Some “merely” get expelled because of a post on social media — but other times, they face serious criminal charges, apparently on no solid legal grounds.

One example is 20-year-old Lake Superior State University student Lucas Gerhard, who spent 83 days in prison before being released on bond, and is now facing terrorism charges that could send him to prison for up to the next 20 years of his life.

This is because Gerhard last August posted a photo of his at-the-time newly-acquired rifle on Snapchat, while also making a reference to “snowflakes melting” because of it — and adding, “snowflakes as in snow.”

Coronavirus Cases vs Fatalities: “Why the Next 6 Days Will be Crucial”

With the current state of coronavirus infections in the US increasingly about political considerations (especially whether a second wave will lead to another round of shutdowns, more economic carnage, millions more unemployed and crush Trump’s re-election chances) and far less about actual epidemiology and standards of care, two ideological camps have emerged — one which tries to overstate the impact of the pandemic in the US by focusing on the recent surge in new cases in sunbelt states (while ignoring the role recent protests and riots played in said surge), and another which, in downplaying the severity of the coronavirus, has been emphasizing the increasing testing which arguably also explains the jump in confirmed covid cases while underscoring the decline in covid-linked fatalities. This divergence is shown in the chart below.

Of course, this is a simplified assessment of the current debate. For a more nuanced take we go to JPM’s Nikolaos Panigirtzoglou who over the weekend wrote that the bank sees little evidence that the virus transmission rate, the so-called R, is increasing at an alarming rate.

Exclusive: Neanderthal ‘Minibrains’ Grown in Dish

Until now, researchers wanting to understand the Neanderthal brain and how it differed from our own had to study a void. The best insights into the neurology of our mysterious, extinct relatives came from analyzing the shape and volume of the spaces inside their fossilized skulls.

But a recent marriage of three hot fields—ancient DNA, the genome editor CRISPR, and “organoids” built from stem cells—offers a provocative, if very preliminary, new option. At least two research teams are engineering stem cells to include Neanderthal genes and growing them into “minibrains” that reflect the influence of that ancient DNA.

None of this work has been published, but Alysson Muotri, a geneticist at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine, described his group’s Neanderthal organoids for the first time this month at a UCSD conference called Imagination and Human Evolution.

Herd Immunity for COVID-19 May be Closer Than it Seems, New Model Shows

We might be closer to herd immunity on COVID-19 than we think, a new model has found.

In herd immunity, enough people become infected with (and cured from) a virus, building antibodies that mean, at least for a while, they cannot catch the virus again. When enough people are included in that herd, the virus has few places to go and often dies off, or at least is greatly reduced.

Hidden Funds Lead to Massive Layoffs at Health Department

A concerning proportion of scientists — so far 54 in all — have been fired or resigned due to an investigation by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), which is looking into the researchers’ undisclosed ties to foreign institutions.

While Charles Lieber, the former head of Harvard’s chemistry department, is one of the highest profile names in the investigation, NIH has been investigating a total of 189 scientists from 87 institutions.

Among them, 93% received undisclosed support from China, and many had active NIH grants while accepting foreign grants that were not disclosed. About 75% of those being investigated had received an active NIH grant, and close to half had at least two of them. In all, 285 active grants totaling $164 million were counted among those being investigated.

NIH director Francis Collins described the information as “sobering,” noting, “It’s not what we had hoped, and it’s not a fun task.”

70% of Researchers Did Not Disclose Foreign Grants

In an astonishing glimpse into what appears to be a covert recruitment program, 133, or 70%, of the researchers being investigated did not disclose to the NIH that they had received foreign grants. More than half (54%) also did not disclose their participation in a foreign talent program, while 9% hid ties to a foreign company and 4% did not disclose a foreign patent.

Nancy Pelosi Begs the CDC to Implement a Nationwide Face Mask Mandate

Infamous tyrant Nancy Pelosi is begging the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to mandate the wearing of face masks. Using the fear-mongering techniques, Pelosi thinks that others have the right to tell you what you will do. This is all predictive programming and getting us accustomed to the rules of the New World Order.

Basically, if you don’t accept what the totalitarian Zionist International Banking Cartel will be shoving down your throat, you won’t be able to work, buy, sell, or go to school. Nancy Pelosi is getting Americans ready for this future by trying to force everyone to wear face masks or be forbidden from doing anything. This is predictive programming. This way, the elitists can roll out the NWO and since everyone is accustomed to compliance with these moronic rules they will willingly accept the vaccine, the one world religion, one-world government, and get on the train without question.

Tracking Vaccination Status by Phone is Now Active

You may soon be living in a world where your personal health data — including results from COVID-19 testing and data proving whether or not you’ve received certain vaccines — must be shared and authenticated before you’re able to enter a sports arena, travel by air or even enter your workplace.

The technology behind such innovations, which many are calling a threat to civil liberties and privacy, is already available to the general public in the App Store and Google Play via Civic Technologies’ Civic Wallet. Civic Technologies, which bills itself as a “leading innovator in digital identity solutions,” released its “Civic Wallet” app June 16, 2020. Previously it was only available in private beta mode.

In addition to offering a way for users to send and receive digital currency, including bitcoin, ethereum, CVC and USDC, which are U.S. dollars converted to assets on the ethereum blockchain, Civic Wallet will also offer proof-of-health verifications via its so-called Health Key…

Vinny Lingham, Civic’s co-founder and CEO, told Forbes, “You don’t have to transmit your name, or anything like that … So you can walk into a stadium anonymously like you do today, but just prove that as you walk through the gates that you’d been vaccinated.”

As for those who may feel that having to “prove” they’ve been vaccinated to enter a stadium or other facility is a violation of their privacy and right to informed consent, Lingham stated, “If you’re part of a society where the majority of the people want everyone to be vaccinated, and you don’t want to be part of that society change countries, move somewhere else.”…

Meanwhile, as Civic Technologies quietly released an app to track your vaccination status, the Virginia legislature passed H.B.1090 earlier in 2020, which amended a law requiring children attending day care and public and private schools in the state to receive vaccines.

The bill proposed that children enrolled in Virginia day care or schools automatically be required to receive all vaccines recommended by the federal Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) as a condition for getting a school education.

The final bill gives the Virginia Board of Health the legal authority to add any vaccines recommended by ACIP, except for the annual influenza vaccination, to the list of vaccines required for children to attend school without holding public hearings or a vote by elected state legislators.

In so doing, Virginia citizens have been blocked from participating in the vaccine law-making process and legislators have turned over their law-making authority to unelected members of the board of health and a federal advisory committee…

What’s more, in a legislative committee public hearing on the proposed law that was held January 21, 2020, no time restrictions were placed on those speaking in favor of the bill, but a 10-minute cap — total — was placed on those speaking in opposition. This meant the majority of those waiting to testify in opposition were prevented from speaking, blocking their right to participate in the democratic law-making process.

The same pattern occurred again when the bill moved to the House Appropriations Subcommittee, with no time limit place for those in favor of the bill and a 10-minute cap placed on those speaking against it. The bill’s passing is even more concerning in light of the current race to develop COVID-19 vaccines, which are being fast-tracked and will likely be mandated despite legitimate concerns about potential risks and concerns about effectiveness.

COVID: The Silence of Germany

by An Investigation by: Alessandra Benignetti, Andrea Indini

The genetic mapping of the virus that struck Codogno and the Lodi area is clear. The infectious disease specialist Massimo Galli has pointed his finger at the outbreak outside Munich in the second half of January. He is not afraid of being contradicted. The scientific results in his possession cannot be refuted and they explain to us how the Italian epidemic is the “daughter” of the flare-up that began on 20 January at the Stockdorf headquarters of the Webasto Group, a company that produces spare parts for cars. “The arrival in our country at the same time of a very similar strain by any other way seems frankly unlikely,” he explains to us by e-mail, pushing back against press releases issued by the Bavarian company boasting that it had contained the outbreak and had not had any contact with Italy and their two branches in Molinella (Bologna) and Venaria Reale (Turin).

To carefully reconstruct the chain of contagion, we have to take a step back in time. It is January 19th. A Chinese employee of Webasto China arrives from Shanghai. She has just celebrated New Year’s Eve with her parents from Wuhan. She has Covid but still doesn’t know it. The first symptoms have not yet appeared, and from 20 to 22 January, the day on which she catches the plane to go back home, she attends a series of corporate meetings during which she meets several colleagues. Her temperature begins to rise during the flight back to China. But it is now too late to contain the spread of the virus. The domino effect has begun and cannot be stopped. The first to fall ill is a 33-year-old who sits next to her at the first meeting, the one on January 20. Three days later he is already experiencing chills, a sore throat and muscle pain, the following day his temperature rises above 39 degrees and the dry cough begins. Within a few days, the number of infected rises to eight. Among these, according to some reconstructions carried out in recent months, there was also the patient who, between 24 and 26 January, reportedly travelled (always on business) to villages in the Lodi area. Caution must however be exercised in relation to these reports as it is not so easy to reconstruct the “close contacts” of the infected people since the symptoms appear two to seven days later. During this time the patient spreads the virus to all the people he meets and nothing can be done to prevent it from happening.

At Webasto in Stockdorf they realise they have a problem on January 26 when the (positive) result of the swab test that the Chinese colleague has undergone arrives. The German colleague who had been ill in the previous few days also rushes to undergo a swab test. He too is positive. “Both are doing quite well, given the circumstances,” said CEO Holger Engelmann in an initial press release that announced that corporate travel “to and from China” would be stopped and all employees would be allowed to “work from home”. On January 28, however, the situation worsened: three other employees tested positive for the virus. Of these, only one had come into contact with “patient 0”, in other words the Chinese employee. The other two (“patient 3” and “patient 4”) had only had contact with the 33-year-old German.

The company is therefore forced to close, albeit only temporarily, the headquarters outside Munich, to cancel all business trips both abroad and within Germany and to have anyone who has had contact with the infected people to take a swab test. The management also rushes to sanitize all the offices. “We were able to sever the chain of infections — Engelmann says with satisfaction on January 29 — the fact that we have not yet had a case of coronavirus in one of the other Webasto sites demonstrates the effectiveness of our measures”. And although over the next few days the number of infected people rises to eight, after two weeks of quarantine, the Stockdorf site reopens its doors and receives praise from the president of the Bavarian Health Authority. “The consistency with which the company has acted in these exceptional circumstances is commendable,” commented the president of the authority, Andreas Zapf. “From the beginning we have been in close contact and have exchanged information in a very open and continuous way — he explains — the knowledge acquired through close collaboration with Webasto will also help us to analyse the epidemic.”

Italy: FI Calls for Inquiry After Berlusconi ‘Plot’ Report

Magistrate said ex-premier ‘treated unjustly’ in Mediaset case

(ANSA) — ROME, JUN 30 — Silvio Berlusconi’s Forza Italia (FI) party on Tuesday called for a parliamentary commission of inquiry after reports that the ex-premier was the victim of an injustice in relation to a tax-fraud conviction.

Berlusconi’s was definitively convicted in a case of tax fraud at his media empire in 2013 and got a four-year term, although he did not have to go to jail and only had to serve a small part of the sentence by doing community work.

But the ruling hit the billionaire’s reputation and prevented him from running for office for several years.

The case erupted after daily newspaper Il Riformista published a recording of a magistrate, Amedeo Franco, saying Berlusconi was “treated unjustly” as there was a “big plot” and he was condemned “from the off”.

FI lawmakers started a social-media campaign with the hashtag #veritàperberlusconi — #truthforberlusconi.

Franco Coppi, one of Berlusconi’s defence lawyers, said “I have always been surprised by that sentence. It was a decision that went against jurisprudence”.

League leader Matteo Salvini expressed solidarity for Berlusconi.

Ex-premier Matteo Renzi, the leader of the centrist Italia Viva party, called for “clarity” to be shed on the case because “no one can afford to pretend nothing has happened”.

Judge Antonio Esposito, the supreme court section head at the time of the ruling, said Tuesday that he had “never been subject to pressure, not from above nor any other direction”.

Majority of People Are Already Resistant to SARS-Cov-2

According to research1 conducted in Switzerland, SARS-CoV-2-specific antibodies are only found in the most severe cases — about 1 in 5. That suggests COVID-19 may in fact be five times more prevalent than suspected. It also means it may be five times less deadly than predicted.

The study,2 “Systemic and Mucosal Antibody Secretion Specific to SARS-CoV-2 During Mild Versus Severe COVID-19,” was posted on the prepublication server bioRxiv, May 23, 2020. According to the authors:

“When symptomatic, COVID-19 can range from a mild flu-like illness in about 81% to a severe and critical disease in about 14% and 5% of affected patients, respectively.”

The Swiss study,3 which sought to investigate SARS-CoV-2-specific antibody responses, found that even though people who had been exposed to infected individuals had SARS-CoV-2-specific immunoglobulin A (IgA) antibodies in their mucosa, there were no virus-specific antibodies in their blood.

Make Masks Compulsory in Public in UK, Says Virus Expert

Prof Peter Piot nearly died of coronavirus and says he now wears one wherever he goes

Face masks should be compulsory for adults in all public and enclosed spaces, such as shops, according to a leading infectious diseases expert.

Prof Peter Piot, the director of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, said he did not understand why the government had only ordered their use on trains, tubes and buses in England.

“I don’t understand why it is not official policy to have compulsory face masks not only on public transport but when you go into public places, enclosed places and shops and all that,” said Piot in an interview with the Guardian.

He contrasted Britain with Japan, where people use face masks even if they have a cold in the interests of protecting others, and have done since the Spanish flu pandemic in 1918, he said. Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan have also adopted masks as “an act of civic duty and of the collective wellbeing”.

UK: Khan’s London: Met Police Hiring ‘Racism Spotters’ To Examine Prospective Officers

London’s Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) is currently hiring so-called ‘racism spotters’ to examine whether prospective police officers are prejudiced, as the city’s leftist mayor, Sadiq Khan, prepares to cut the budget of actual police.

The civilian staffed position has been in place since 2003, yet the salary for racism spotters has recently been given a 50 per cent bump, meaning that they can earn £150 per day, plus expenses. The pay for the position, which is part-time, would be equivalent to a full-time salary of £39,000 — ten thousand more pounds than the starting rate for actual police officers, according to calculations made by British newspaper The Sun.

Egypt Jails Reporters and Bloggers Who Publish COVID Information That Disputes Government Sources

The government of Abdulfatah al Sisi in Egypt has increased the monitoring of information shared on the internet using the COVID-19 outbreak as an excuse, which has reached the extreme of jailing and deporting journalists for not using data from government sources.

Like other nations such as China, and increasingly in the West, the regime has increased the already-strong censorship in the media using the coronavirus as the premise for doing so. As soon as the virus reached the nation, cases of arrests and harassment by the authorities towards journalists increased dramatically, according to a report published on afteegypt.org.

The Syrian Mercenary Battleground in Libya

by Alex Kassidiaris

As tension heats up in Libya, the conflicting sides are finding themselves in a race against time. Despite the unceasing negotiations and the international pleads for ceasefire, Government of National Accord (GNA)-affiliated forces are getting ready for a major offensive in Sirte, the most crucial strategic point for Libyan National Army (LNA) leader General Khalifa Haftar at the moment.

Over the last few months, a massive recruitment operation has been taking place in several areas of Syria, as a desperate effort by the LNA to bolster its manpower and establish a new balance in the operational theater across Libya. The deployment of foreign fighters to Libya is also closely related to the proxy nature of the Libyan conflict, with the roles of Turkey and Russia being especially fundamental.

Ankara Deployed First Mercenary Forces From Syria to Libya

Haftar wasn’t the first to use mercenaries in the Libyan conflict. By late 2019, when Turkish President Recep Erdogan made clear that the Turkish aspirations towards Libya were far from superficial or simplistic. To that end, a significant number of Syrian rebels were recruited by Turkey and sent to Tripoli. The individuals to take over this mission had previously formed a part of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army, fighting against President Bashar al Assad in Syria, and allegedly participating in anti-government and anti-Kurdish operations in Afrin, Azaz, Idlib, Manbij and tal Abyad.

ISIS Terror Plot Foiled in Vladikavkaz

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) has thwarted a planned terrorist attack in Vladikavkaz, the North Caucasus. A follower of the ISIS international terrorist organization (outlawed in Russia) who was plotting to carry out a blast there was detained, the FSB Public Relations Center said.

“The Federal Security Service prevented a terror attack in the city of Vladikavkaz. As a result of the operation, a Russian citizen born in 1990 was detained. He was plotting to detonate an improvised explosive device near one of the administrative buildings with subsequent plans to head out to a combat zone in the Middle East in order to participate in the activities of the ISIS (outlawed in Russia) international terrorist organization,” TASS cited the center as saying.

Putin Set to Get His New Constitution. But Russians Ask, ‘Why Now?’

Russia has had five different constitutions since the beginning of the 20th century. All of them were linked to the fortunes of a particular leader, rather than being a permanent distillation of national principles.

If exit polls are correct, after voting ends this Wednesday, Russia is about to get its sixth new constitution — this one shaped around President Vladimir Putin.

Russians have been voting over the past week, amid the still-raging coronavirus pandemic, on a sweeping package of more than 100 amendments to the country’s 1993 charter. Unsurprisingly, its best-known feature is a clause that will enable Mr. Putin to evade past term limits and potentially remain in the Kremlin until 2036. The measures are expected to pass handily, but the controversy the effort has kicked up seems unlikely to die down anytime soon.

Russian Anti-Terror Chief: Jihadis Are Intentionally Spreading Coronavirus

The head of Russia’s Anti-Terrorism Center has warned that terrorists are intentionally trying to spread the coronavirus, using it as a form of bio-weapon.

Andrei Novikov, head of Russia’s Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), told Russian state news agency Tass that the terrorists are using the health crisis to further their own agendas.

“While governments are trying to ensure health security, focusing on protecting the lives and health of their people, recruiters of international terrorist groups are not just taking advantage of the difficult situation in order to recruit more ‘Jihad soldiers,’ they are calling on infected members to spread COVID-19 as wide as possible in public places, state agencies and so on,” Novikov said.

An Intrusive Killer Scorpion Points the Way to Six New Species in Sri Lanka

COLOMBO — Getting out of their vehicle in the middle of the night, armed with small digging tools, UV lights and headlamps, the members of the research team looked like a group of treasure hunters. But they were out looking for scorpions, checking on the insects as they came out of their hiding spots at night.

It was during one such an expedition in southern Sri Lanka that the team found the treasure they were looking for: a new species of scorpion that they have described in a recent study.

“The instant we saw this particular scorpion in our study area, we recognized it is different from other scorpions found in Sri Lanka,” co-author Sanjeewa Jayarathne, a researcher at the University of Peradeniya, told Mongabay.

83 Tons of Fake Gold Bars: Gold Market Rocked by Massive China Counterfeiting Scandal

Over the years, we have periodically reported of the occasional gold bar discovered as counterfeit in Manhattan’s Diamond District which instead of containing the yellow precious metal would be filled with gold-plated tungsten or in some cases copper. The news would spark a brief wave of outrage, prompting physical gold holders to run ultrasound spot checks of their inventory, at which point interest would wane and why not: buyer, after all, beware in gold as in every other market, and if someone is spending thousands to buy fake gold, well that’s Darwinism in action.

China Passed Controversial Hong Kong Security Law

Last month China was criticised when it said it would criminalise any act of secession, subversion, terrorism, or collusion with foreign forces, after months of protests in the city. China defended the law saying Hong Kong lacked adequate security measures.

Chinese Bank Got Two Western Companies to Install Tax Software That Has Secret Backdoor, Researchers Say

Trustwave Holdings has published a report implicating a Chinese bank in an apparent malware operation targeting several corporate Western users of Microsoft Windows.

Trustwave — an infosec subsidiary of Singapore’s Singtel — reported that it identified this suspected malware software as installed by “at least” two Western entities — a UK tech company, and what’s described as a “major financial institution” — also headquartered in the West.

It seems like the suspect software — which Trustwave’s researchers have dubbed GoldenSpy, deeming it to contain a backdoor, alongside its legitimate tax-filing purpose — found its way onto these companies’ systems when they recently inaugurated their Chinese offices. The Chinese bank they were working with — which also as of now remains unnamed — then, unsurprisingly, imposed the requirement of installing a local tax package, so they could keep up with the financial law of the land.

Teacher Mei Duo Bypassed Censorship and Posted to Facebook From Tibet in 2016. She Hasn’t Been Seen Since.

Ms. Mei Duo, who was a teacher at a primary school in Tibet, disappeared shortly after she made a Facebook post about her local situation. This information has been discovered four years after her disappearance by a Chinese human rights blog.

The Chinese Communist Party is again demonstrating why it is not a good idea to cross the limits they have imposed on the nation. The victim, this time, was Mei Duo, a resident of Tibet, who was using “special software” (we predict that it was likely a VPN) and managed to circumvent the so-called Chinese “Great Firewall” to use Facebook and share information from international media about Tibet.

Tokyo Court Rules Twitter Doesn’t Need to Delete Information on Citizens’ Criminal History

Twitter’s lately been the social media/politics talk of the town, and praise/rage in the US — because of some of the recent decisions it has made — but how is this social network holding up internationally?

When we talk about Big Tech, we mean trillion-dollar companies like Google (YouTube), Facebook, Apple, Amazon — but when we talk about influence on the web, we can’t leave out Twitter. Even though it is by all accounts at this point a struggling entity, business and user numbers-wise — it still plays an asymmetrically huge role on the internet.

Take a look at this ruling from a Japanese court, that justified its ruling against a regular citizen by saying that Twitter had the right to perpetuate information about them because basically, “Twitter plays a significant role on the internet.”

June Tally: 31 Farm Attacks and 3 Murdered White Farmers in South Africa

Radical race-baiters in the US frequently claim there can be no such thing as racism against white people — a claim that Holocaust survivors, for example, obviously cannot share. In South Africa, violence against farmers, often on the ethnic group of the Boers, has become rampant.

Author JK Rowling took to Twitter once again Sunday and posted another string of tweets condemning the trans-activist movement, noting that she has received thousands of emails of support from people who are concerned it is being used to further sexual assault.

Rowling’s posts came in response to a commentary piece by Labour MP Lloyd Russell-Moyle over the weekend, charging that Rowling is using her history of sexual assault, which she revealed in a recent essay, as “justification” for “discriminating” against transgender people.

Mother Who Defied Doctors’ Advice to Abort Gives Birth to Healthy Baby

A mother who was advised by doctors “three or four times” to have an abortion gave birth to a healthy baby girl.

At just 12 weeks pregnant, Kimberly James was diagnosed with hydrops fetalis, a rare but serious condition described as “accumulation of fluid in at least two fetal compartments.” The condition has a survival rate of just 10%.

Her baby was also diagnosed with cystic hygroma — abnormal growths in the lymphatic system near a baby’s neck and head.

Doctors told James that her baby would not survive the pregnancy and advised her to have an abortion. James, however, refused the procedure.

20 thoughts on “Gates of Vienna News Feed 6/30/2020

  1. I think we’re getting live exhibits of that Neanderthal brain on a daily basis now. As a young person wondering about our prehistory (many years before the current public madness went viral) I once wondered how this would work with our Human Rights, if the Neanderthal man had survived to this day and would be thoroughly overstrained with our civilization. Would we have to regard them as humans at all? Then on the other hand, they might have been more advanced than the current rage mobs with their outright ape behaviour.

    • Likely they discovered wokeness and intersectional minority transgender studies. This led to their rapid extinction after they started spending all their time protesting the effects of wooly mammoth flatulence upon the glaciers covering the northern hemisphere, opening the borders to sabre-tooth cats and Homo Sapiens, and endlessly attempting to plug slot C into slot C and square peg D into square peg D until there were no more baby Neanderthals.

      • Heh! I quite enjoyed that, 007 (will you change your avatar after Daniel Craig’s last James Bond film airs, probably later this year?)

I can’t claim to be an expert in current research into the DNA of Homo Sapiens and other proto-humans, but as I understand it, the early Hom.Saps. who left their ancestral home in East Africa interbred with Neanderthals, and perhaps others, whereas those who remained in Africa are the most “pure” (excuse the expression) humans. I’m not trying to get into a debate about what happened afterwards, especially in evolutionary terms; I’d just like to have seen the expression on Hitler’s face (and those of many others at the time) if he’d been presented with this evidence.

        • Interbreeding with Neanderthals just proves the existence of alcoholic beverages is much older than previously imagined. Same goes for paper bags and females lying about being on the pill.

    • More important is the reconquista of the mind.

Ridding lands of the muslim or african orc is worse than useless without also ridding the minds of the Western inhabitants of the ideologies that allowed them to be imported in the first place.

  2. “….terrorists are intentionally trying to spread the coronavirus, using it as a form of bio-weapon.”

    Are they the only ones?

    • Very true.

Not all terrorists wear man-jammies, sport unkempt beards, or bray “dirka dirka mohammed jihad”. Many of the worst terrorists wear suit and tie, count their billions, and use financial weapons of mass destruction to destroy the economies of entire nations.

    • Bio-weapons or feed. The hunter-gatherers will never come close to the bio-self-degradation underway in the west right now.

  3. If the lefties ever achieve their goal of worldwide communism, with the help of Islam, what are they going to do when they find out that Muslims will not share power?

  4. In response to the cuts in police department funding by the various big cities, New York, L.A. and Detroit et al, I am wondering if this a reaction on the part of municipal governments against those who consider themselves to be a law unto themselves and not the stewards of public safety as they were intended to be. Joseph Wambaugh wrote about this regression towards an ad hoc military unit in his book “The New Centurions” which described L.A. during the 1960s and laid the blame on the Watts Riots on William Parker’s ‘proactive policing’ approach which was nothing more than Nazi Germany version 2. We were taught in school that the policeman is your friend, but nowadays contact with a policeman is to be avoided at all costs as in their sight you are guilty unless you are in a position of authority or can afford a high-priced attorney. The police should never have been allowed to have been unionized, because now they answer to their union bosses and not to the municipal government from which they derive their authority.
