A Tulsa, Oklahoma police major says he’s “extremely concerned” that cops across America are on the verge of quitting amid global protests against law enforcement.

Brawl at Thrift Store Breaks Out Over One Way Social Distancing Arrows

By now, you’ve all seen them: the arrows that are placed on the floors at stores to try and help customers keep up with social distancing rules. And while you may have even had a friendly engagement with other shoppers about somebody going the wrong way down a “one way” aisle, it was probably nothing like what took place in a Tampa, Florida Goodwill last week.

Chicago Fed Economist Fired for Criticizing “Defund the Police”

Submitted by Mark Glennon of Wirepoints

If you are among the two-thirds of Americans opposing calls by Black Lives Matter to defund the police, think twice about saying so in public.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago is the latest example of what you might face. On Friday it cut ties with a prominent University of Chicago economics professor, Harald Uhlig, who was a scholar at the bank, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. The Chicago Fed said it terminated Mr. Uhlig’s contract effective that day.

What was Uhlig’s sin?

A series of tweets criticizing Black Lives Matter’s call to defund police departments.

‘Is Anyone in Charge Here?’ Woman Asks Amid Row Over Removing CHAZ Sign

In the wee hours of Saturday morning, a scuffle broke out at the antifa-anarchist Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) rebellion in Seattle, Wash. A man in a blue helmet climbed up a ladder, apparently intending to remove the sign reading, “Welcome to Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone.” The crowd prevented him from removing the sign by seizing the ladder, and a row broke out over who exactly was in charge.

“Is anyone in charge here?” a woman yells at the man in the blue helmet, in a video recorded by Townhall’s Julio Rosas.

The man, who is wearing a facemask, responded by shouting something about “democracy.” It appears he said, “This ain’t a damn democracy here!”

NAACP Demands Atlanta Chief Resign Over Latest Police Killing of Unarmed Black Man

The latest police killing of an “unarmed” black man unfolded Friday night in Atlanta, and footage released Saturday afternoon is already causing a major uproar in the city. Activists are demanding that Atlanta’s police chief Erika Shields, whose statements to the press and willingness to push deescalation tactics made her a media darling during the unrest that followed the killing of George Floyd.

Though the only details of the incident so far involve grainy cellphone camera footage, it’s clear in the video that one of the two APD officers involved in the incident shot a suspect in the back as he was running away after wresting one of the officer’s tasers away from him.

What we know is real, though, is the whiteboard listing things protesters would like, including phone cards, comforters, and clothing — the weather is wet there and people are going to need a change of clothes.

Townhall’s Julio Rosas is reporting from inside CHAZ and says he found a medic who is dressed in armor. Not body armor, but a knight’s armor.

Trouble in Paradise: Citizens of ‘Autonomous Zones’ Within the USA Excrete in Tents, Farms Unlikely to Yield Any Fruits for Leftist Secessionists

All is not well in the United States of America. The death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis Police has unleashed uninhibited anarchy across the country. The looting and rioting appears to have died down largely, however, autonomous zones are coming up across the country, the first among them being CHAZ. The entry to some of these zones declare that those who enter are leaving the USA.

The first one to come up was in Seattle. It called itself the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ). Along expected lines, things did not go according to plan. Their food was stolen by the homeless people they invited and a ‘warlord’ took over the place and he enforced his will upon the populace with help from his armed militia.

Now, fights appear to be breaking out among the people who established the autonomous zone. And the protesters do not wish for the fights to be recorded as it might harm the reputation of CHAZ. It’s unclear how the disputes will be settled since the Police is not permitted at the scene. The possibility of unmitigated violence in the are is, thus, very high.

Twitter Reinstates Zerohedge After Admitting it Made an “Error”

133 days after Twitter “permanently” banned Zero Hedge on January 31, the social network has reinstated us after admitting it made an error.

As a reminder, what happened in late January was confusing. Shortly after we asked if “This [Is] The Man Behind The Global Coronavirus Pandemic”, referring to Wuhan Institute Of Virology scientist Peng Zhou (who three months later was being investigated by western spy agencies for his role in creating Covid) and some low-grade “reporter” from Buzzfeed decided to report us to Twitter for “doxxing” Zhou using publicly available information, Twitter told us that the account had been suspended for “violating Twitter rules against abuse and harassment”, which was false as we neither incited abuse nor harrassment, but merely asked questions. But the confusing part is that at the same time, Twitter fabricated an entirely different explanation for its decision when speaking to outside media, telling them the suspension was due to “platform manipulation” — whatever that means.

An odd mix of conflicting explanations but in any case, neither was true as we said at the time, and as we further told Bloomberg, the suspension was “unjustified, and likely motivated by reasons other than the stated ones” adding that “we are confident that we did not violate any of the stated Twitter terms: we neither incited harassment, nor did we ‘dox’ the public official, whose contact information is as of this moment listed on the Wuhan institute’s website.”

Then in March, the coronavirus pandemic caused many to fear it would lead to civil unrest.

That’s when Marcus and some other local gun shop workers say sales really skyrocketed.

Italy: Antifascists Want Montanelli Statue Removed

Journalism doyen bought, ‘married’ 12-year-old Ethiopian girl

(ANSA) — Milan, June 12 — The anti-fascist ‘Sentinel’ group want Milan to join the spirit of the Black Lives Matter protesters and remove a statue of Indro Montanelli, late doyen of Italian journalism, because he bought and ‘married’ a 12-year-old Eritrean girl during the Second Italo-Ethiopian War in 1936.

The Sentinels said in an open letter to Mayor Giuseppe Sala that the statue, located in the Giardini Pubblici Indro Montanelli (Indro Montanelli Public Gardens), represents the acceptance of slavery, racism, and colonial abuse.

The letter also requests that the name of the park be changed to honour someone “more worthy to represent the history and memory of our city.” Montanelli was a prominent right-wing journalist known for being an independent-thinker and prolific writer. He died in 2001, and never expressed remorse about his decision to purchase the Eritrean girl. On the contrary, he spoke and wrote openly about it on numerous occasions.

In a 1982 interview with journalist Enzo Biagi, he referred to the girl, named Destà, as a “docile animal.” As Montanelli is an icon of Italian journalism, many journalists and political leaders are firmly against the statue’s removal.

Sala said Friday he was “not favourable” to removing the statue, saying: “I think that in all our lives there are mistakes. And Montanelli certainly made one. But Milan recognises his qualities, which are unquestionable”.

Nationalist opposition League leader Matteo Salvini said “the left are a disgrace” in wanting the stature removed.

A model of concision and clarity, Montanelli’s journalism, and historical writings, is still widely admired.

A staunch anti-Communist, he famously left establishment newspaper Corriere della Sera when it took a leftward turn in the late 1970s and founded his own, conservative and libertarian newspaper, Il Giornale, only to be forced out when media magnate and owner Silvio Berlusconi wanted to bend it to his political aims after entering the fray at the head of the centre-right Forza Italia in 1994.

Montanelli became a fierce critic of Berlusconi’s sally into politics, which was to make him the most successful centre right leader in recent history.

This isn’t the first time the Montanelli statue has been at the centre of controversy. On 8 March 2019, feminist activists from the group Non Una di Meno (Italy’s equivalent of the Me Too movement) dumped a bucket of pink paint over the statue. The incident occurred after a 1969 RAI Storia video clip circulated online of Eritrean-Italian journalist Elvira Banotti interrogating Montanelli about his relationship with Destà. In the video, when Banotti accuses him of being a rapist, he defends the relationship as a cultural difference between Africa and Europe. At the time, the legal age of consent in Italy was 14.

I Sentinelli’s request comes as other statues are being removed in the US and the UK. On 7 June, a statue of Edward Colston, a slave trader, was toppled by protesters in Bristol.

In London on 9 June, a statue of Robert Milligan, a wealthy slaveholder, was formally removed from outside the Museum of London Docklands. In the US, some protesters are vandalizing statues of confederate soldiers, while others are negotiating with state representatives about their removal.

Many Black Lives Matter activists in Italy stand strongly with I Sentinelli. The nonprofit organization Arci Milano, also based in Milan, voiced support of I Sentinelli in a post on Facebook.

A petition on Change.org to remove the statue of Montanelli currently has over 7,500 signatures. A more recent petition to change the name of Giardini Pubblici Indro Montanelli to Giardini Pubblici di Porta Venezia (Public Gardens of Porta Venezia) has over 1,500 signatures. The latter petition also requests that the nearby street named “Via Montanelli” be renamed “Via Destà.”

UK: ‘Fawlty Towers’ DVD Sales Soar After Woke Cancellation

“Gone With the Wind” has some company.

That 1939 classic got officially canceled by HBO Max, sans apology, earlier this week. The film’s depictions of race, slavery and the Civil War proved insufficiently evolved. Out went the “Wind,” and just hours after an LA Times op-ed argued it had to go.

Sales of the classic film soared as a result.

“Gone With the Wind” zipped to the top of Amazon’s best-sellers sales chart for TV and movies, a day after WarnerMedia’s HBO Max pulled the movie for “racist depictions.”

Amazon bases its rankings on sales data. The site currently offers the 70th anniversary two-disc DVD edition of “Gone With the Wind” starting at $29.55, while Amazon Video offers the movie as a digital HD rental at $3.99 and for purchase at $9.99.

Meanwhile, on Apple’s iTunes movie chart for the U.S., “Gone With the Wind” on Wednesday was in the No. 5 spot…

Black Lives Matter supporters have seriously assaulted a number of people suspected of being “far-right” in London.

Police, who at previous protests were seen kneeling to BLM supporters, fleeing from violent mobs, and failing to protect monuments such as Churchill’s statue and the Cenotaph war memorial, adopted a far more robust approach towards these counter-protesters, manning metal barricades in full riot gear including helmets, shields, and clubs to restrict their movements.

Reddit Circulates ‘China Bootlickers’ List After Zoom Licks China’s Boots

A Reddit user has circulated a ‘China Bootlickers’ list after video chat company Zoom deactivated accounts of prominent pro-democracy Chinese activists based in the U.S.

The list, republished below, includes companies which have kowtowed to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) by taking actions to censor or restrict pro-democracy content, or otherwise promote CCP talking points. As Bloomberg notes, “Several tech companies were included on the list, including Activision Blizzard, which temporarily banned a gamer who voiced support for Hong Kong’s pro-democracy demonstrators, and Apple, which removed a mapping app in Hong Kong amid protests and pulled the Taiwan flag emoji from some iPhones.”

On Thursday, three US lawmakers asked Zoom to clarify its data-collection practices, as well as its relationship with the Chinese government, according to Reuters.

Another Progressive Media Figure ‘Canceled’ For Being ‘Insufficiently Woke’

As the protests have quieted down and America waits for Minnesota AG Keith Ellison to prosecute Derek Chauvin and the 3 other officers who presided over the murder of George Floyd, the aftermath on the Internet has been surprising and swift, as many popular figures who have pledged their support to ‘BLM’ and the principles of dismantling white supremacy via posting and vague workplace ‘diversity’ commitments are being called out by other for being “insufficiently woke”.

Though most Americans who either aren’t on twitter or don’t spend the majority of their free time there probably don’t know/don’t care about any of this, the movement has claimed victims in the latest iteration of ‘cancel culture’ run amok.

Buzzfeed News reports that Leandra Cohen, the founder and top editor at fashion website Man Repeller, has decided to “take a step back” after acknowledging that she “failed” in her mission to expand the diversity of Man Repeller.

Howard Stern Under Fire for Past Use of Blackface, Skit With N-Word

Howard Stern has become the latest in a long list of celebrities and power players to be forced to confront their use of blackface.

On Thursday a video appeared online showing Stern in minstrel-style makeup, liberally using the N-word. It was cut together with a recent appearance on “The View” during which he claimed he’d never used that word.

Sources tell Page Six that the clip — a skit that seems to take aim at Ted Danson’s infamous 1993 blackface performance with then-girlfriend Whoopi Goldberg — was part of Stern’s “New Year’s Rotten Eve Pageant,” which aired on pay-per-view on December 31 that year.

Selective Abortion of Down Syndrome Babies Rises in UK

The number of Irish babies with Down syndrome aborted in England rose by 60 percent in just one year, from 17 in 2018 to 27 in 2019, the Iona Institute reports.

Since abortion was legalized in Ireland in January 2019, the number of abortions performed on Irish women in the UK in 2019 dropped by over 650 percent last year, but this did not curb the number of Down syndrome babies being aborted. On the contrary, that figure rose, mainly because British law allows abortion up to birth of babies suspected of having Down syndrome.

Trump Administration Reverses Obama-Era Regulation That Redefined ‘Sex’

The Department of Health and Human Services has just announced a rule undoing an Obama-administration policy that had redefined “sex” to include “gender identity” and “termination of pregnancy” for purposes of nondiscrimination under the Affordable Care Act.

Section 1557 of Obamacare prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability in health-related programs or activities. Near the end of President Obama’s second term, his HHS Department released a regulation redefining “sex” for the purposes of Section 1557 to include “gender identity” and “termination of pregnancy.”

As a result of the rule that HHS released today, that regulation has been reversed and “sex” once again refers only to biological sex, as was intended in the statute.

In December 2016, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas enjoined Section 1557’s prohibitions against discrimination on the basis of gender identity and termination of pregnancy. Last fall, the same federal judge vacated the rule, saying that it violated the Administrative Procedure Act and the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

As a result of these rulings, HHS no longer could enforce the Obama-era provision, and today’s new rule brings federal policy into compliance with court rulings…
