Gates of Vienna News Feed 3/28/2020

French President Emmanuel “Toy Boy” Macron is in the midst of a political crisis after police unions threatened to stop enforcing the coronavirus quarantine. The police reaction came after the first fatality of a gendarme from the disease. Meanwhile, Italian authorities have decreed that going to church is not a valid reason for leaving home during social isolation. Also, South African soldiers fired rubber bullets at a crowd outside a supermarket to enforce social distancing.

In other news, German Intelligence reports that Turkish government agents disguised as migrants were among the crowd at the border with Greece, inciting the immigrants to riot.

Catholic League: New York Times is ‘Mainstreaming Paranoia’ Against Christians

The New York Times is “mainstreaming paranoia” by blaming evangelical Christians for the coronavirus pandemic, Catholic League President Bill Donohue said on Friday.

The Times is playing a “cheap game,” Dr. Donohue noted, in trying to whip up anti-Christian sentiment by accusing disciples of Jesus of being “anti-science” and, therefore, responsible for the spread of the coronavirus.

In her Friday New York Times op-ed titled “The Road to Coronavirus Hell Was Paved by Evangelicals,” journalist and author Katherine Stewart claimed that since religious voters supported Trump, he governs without regard for science.

Is Coronavirus Deadly? Yes, Just Not in the Way You Might Think

The Coronavirus is all we hear about and many people simply aren’t listening anymore. Here’s the real problem — the effects are deadly serious.

(True Conservative Pundit) Yesterday, a fellow author on TCP posited that the Coronavirus is basically not what it seems, I would have to agree. Lyle’s premise here is that the COVID-19 outbreak is being exaggerated and used by the Democrats for maximum harm to President Trump — “Never let a good crisis go to waste!”

Indeed.

If you think I/we are exaggerating, a quick perusal on Twitter should change your mind:

Scorched Earth — Socialists Going All Out for Broke

Whether or not CoVid19 is a Wuhan lab created weaponized version of the Coronavirus, the expanding “global pandemic” has been weaponized by global socialists in the USA and around the world. Although the direct threat to human life remains very small, approximately .00018% of the USA population to date (60,000 cases from 330M people), the weaponized “pandemic” threatens the health and well-being of more than 90% of Americans, via a total economic collapse. It may not be without purpose….

For evidence, look no further than the constant Democrat power-grab attempts in the USA during this “pandemic.”

State and Federal governments have essentially shut down the U.S. economy via “shelter in place” policies, instantly stopping incomes for millions of Americans, many of whom live paycheck to paycheck. But Democrats have seen it fit to go several steps further, instituting bans on gun and ammo sales, calling for mail-in elections, easy to manipulate and impossible to verify, in a nation full of Democrat controlled sanctuary cities.

After blocking the bipartisan Senate Stimulus Bill this week, aimed at helping Americans to stay in their homes and feed their families while under government forced lockdown, House Democrats demanded a laundry list of totally unrelated partisan expenditures in a proposed House bill of their own…

Make no mistake, no one wants to die from CoVid19 or any other contagion. But the threat to Americans from a total economic collapse far exceeds any threat from any virus. No imagination is required to see who is making every effort to take full advantage of this crisis to gain political power over the American people, either.

[Comment: Democrats are seeking to bankrupt the USA with obligations — classic communist strategy.]

Trump Pushes Travel Advisory Instead of Quarantine for Tri-State; NYC Reports 155 Deaths in Single Day

New York City surpassed its own record Saturday when it reported 155 additional deaths related to the coronavirus, passing the single-day high set the day before.

The spike in deaths came as President Donald Trump weighed the possibility of a 14-day quarantine for New York State, and possibly New Jersey and Connecticut as well. Ultimately, the president said he asked the CDC to issue a travel advisory.

UC Tells Students ‘Do Not’ Say ‘Chinese Virus’ And ‘Do Not Allow’ Others to Say it Either

The Council of Chief Diversity Officers at the University of California released a “guidance document” to announce “supportive positive and inclusive campus climates during the COVID-19 crisis.”

The list begins by telling students to “reject racism, sexism, xenophobia and all hateful or intolerant speech, both in person and online,” and to “Be an ‘up-stander,’ and discourage others from engaging in such behavior.”

“Do not use terms such as ‘Chinese Virus’ or other terms which cast either intentional or unintentional projections of hatred toward Asian communities, and do not allow the use of these terms by others,” the university tells students and faculty, insisting that all members of the campus community refer to the virus as only “COVID-19” OR “coronavirus” in all “oral and written communications.”

Spain Sees 832 Virus Deaths in Single Day; World Economy Plunges Into Recession

(AFP) — Europe was reeling from a staggering surge in coronavirus deaths Saturday, still days or weeks from what experts desperately hope will be the epidemic’s peak.

Grim new tolls from Italy and Spain came as the IMF confirmed the world economy has plunged into a historic slump, and the US invoked wartime procurement powers.

More than 600,000 cases of the new coronavirus have been officially recorded around the world since the outbreak of the epidemic, according to an AFP tally.

Variations in testing regimes mean the true number is likely far higher still, and confirmed deaths are mounting.

Spain recorded 832 fatalities in 24 hours, bringing its toll to 5,690, second in the world only to Italy, which confirmed a one-day record of 969 on Friday.

UK: One Battle Boris Johnson is Clearly Winning

(Bloomberg Opinion) — As recently as a few weeks ago, it seemed as though U.K. politics could not possibly talk about anything besides Brexit, even after the country’s formal departure from the EU. Business as usual was expected to return at some unspecified point in the future.

As elsewhere, the coronavirus has turned British politics on its head. Unlike Brexit, which continues to divide opinion fairly evenly, the coronavirus crisis has prompted an outbreak of recently unfamiliar unity. Number Cruncher polling (excusive to Bloomberg) finds personal ratings for Boris Johnson — himself now diagnosed with coronavirus — that have not been seen for a British Prime Minister since the early days of Tony Blair’s premiership in 1997.

Fully 72% of eligible voters are satisfied with Johnson’s performance as Prime Minister, with 25% dissatisfied. Ninety-one per cent of those currently supporting the Conservatives count themselves as satisfied, along with about half of Labour voters and those voting for other parties and a large majority of undecided voters. Johnson’s government gets similar approval ratings, both overall (73% to 24%) and on its handling of the Coronavirus outbreak (72% to 25%).

Why France is Hiding a Cheap and Tested Virus Cure?

The French government is arguably helping Big Pharma profit from the Covid-19 pandemic

What’s going on in the fifth largest economy in the world arguably points to a major collusion scandal in which the French government is helping Big Pharma to profit from the expansion of Covid-19. Informed French citizens are absolutely furious about it.

My initial question to a serious, unimpeachable Paris source, jurist Valerie Bugault, was about the liaisons dangereuses between Macronism and Big Pharma and especially about the mysterious “disappearance” — more likely outright theft — of all the stocks of chloroquine in possession of the French government.

Respected Professor Christian Perronne talked about the theft live in one of France’s 24/7 info channels: “The central pharmacy for the hospitals announced today that they were facing a total rupture of stocks, that they were pillaged.”

Coronavirus: Tunisia Renegotiates IMF Aid Program

MEDC suspended, talks for more emergency aid

(ANSAmed) — TUNIS, MARCH 26 — Tunisia and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have agreed to suspend the sixth review of the aid program granted in 2016 to Tunisia through the Mécanisme Elargi de Credit (MEDC) and to adopt another program reflecting the government’s new economic and social policies. The announcement was made by Finance Minister Mohamed Nizar Yaich to the TAP news agency. He noted that “the two parties are currently discussing the general terms of this new program”. Tunisian and the IMF have agreed to implement a joint program called “Corona Program”, on the basis of which the country will get 400 million dollars to deal with the global healthcare crisis caused by the spread of the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19. Tunisia has received six of the eight tranches provided for by the IMF as part of the May 2016 MEDC: 1.6 billion dollars out of a total of 2.8 billion. This large loan called for an 8-tranche payment subject to the implementation of a program aiming to “support economic and social reform” in the North African country.

The West Needs to Wake Up to China’s Duplicity

The Chinese Communist Party is the “central threat of our times”, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo astutely said in January. Back then, coronavirus was already spreading throughout China and over the world; the Communist Party’s attempt to hide the epidemic proved that Pompeo was more than right. “My concern is that this cover-up, this disinformation that the Chinese Communist Party is engaged in, is still denying the world the information it needs so that we can prevent further cases or something like this from recurring again”, Pompeo addedthis week.

Had China responded to the outbreak three weeks earlier than it did, cases of coronavirus could have been reduced by 95%, according to a study by the University of Southampton. In those three weeks, China was busy hiding the truth. According to Steve Tsang, director of the University of London’s SOAS China Institute, “It is the cover-up of the Communist Party for the first two months or so which created conditions to generate a global pandemic”.

While the deadly coronavirus spreads across the globe, The Atlantic writer James Hamblin wrote this week that the U.S. should actually consider opening its borders:…

In 2017, Breitbart News reported on a study by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) that warned of the potential for a deadly disease outbreak across the U.S. if proper illegal and legal immigration controls were not implemented.

[Comment: Globalists seek to destroy the USA — it is the only hurdle between them and world government.]

  1. “Meanwhile, Italian authorities have decreed that going to church is not a valid reason for leaving home during social isolation.”
I just went to Church, on my computer. Who needs a building when you can huddle with your family in the comfort of your home in bathrobe and bunny slippers listening to the Word of God being faithfully ministered. Even the skies are clearer and bluer here in SoCal. Forget the office and work from home and leave the roads to us road warriors who must drive to where the work is being done or goods are being delivered.
PS. check out http://www.calvarycch.org and its live sermons, especially this morning’s message.
