Dow Roars Back From Coronavirus Sell-Off With Biggest Gain Since 2009, Surges 5.1%
Stocks rebounded sharply from their worst week since the financial crisis on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average posting its best day in more than a decade. Expectations that the Federal Reserve would cut rates drove the gains, which accelerated aggressively into the close.
The Dow closed 1,293.96 points higher, or 5.1%, at 26,703.32. The move on a percentage basis was the Dow’s biggest since March 2009. It was the largest-ever points gain for the 30-stock average.

A billionaire Republican megadonor has purchased a major stake in Twitter and has plans to oust CEO Jack Dorsey, according to people familiar with the matter.
Paul Singer’s Elliott Management Corp. has nominated four directors to Twitter’s board. His attempted takeover of Twitter raises the possibility of a friendlier platform for conservatives, who have long accused Twitter of a left-wing political bias.
Singer is considered a megadonor for the GOP, donating $24 million to Republican right-leaning groups during the 2016 election, despite his opposition to President Trump’s campaign that same year. He has since become an ardent Trump supporter.

Federal Funds Used to Research “Online Hate Speech” With the Goal of Training Hate Speech Algorithms
YouTube’s controversial “hate speech” rules have caused mass collateral damage to the creator community.
History teachers, model makers, independent journalists, and other creators have found that their content is often demonetized or removed by YouTube’s hate speech algorithms because it doesn’t understand when words are being used in an educational or newsworthy context.
This has created an environment where creators are increasingly self-censoring when discussing news and current events because they fear that mentioning certain words, regardless of context, will trigger YouTube’s hate speech algorithms.

Jefferson’s Hometown Snubs Founding Father to Honour Slaves
A Virginia city that became the site of a deadly white nationalist rally in 2017 is preparing to celebrate a new holiday marking the end of slavery.
On Tuesday, Charlottesville will mark the first “Liberation and Freedom Day” to commemorate the freeing of the city’s slaves in 1865.
The holiday will replace an annual birthday celebration of US Founding Father Thomas Jefferson, a slave-owner.
The city voted last year to scrap the April Jefferson holiday.

Journalist Who Defended Katie Hill Failed to Disclose He Dated Her
A Playboy journalist who went to bat for disgraced former representative Katie Hill (D., Calif.) after her resignation failed to disclose that they were dating at the time her scandal became public.
The New York Post reported Saturday that Playboy Washington correspondent Alex Thomas was seen at a book party with Hill, who resigned in October after photos of her nude with a campaign staffer emerged. Leaked text messages seemed to indicate that she was in a relationship with a congressional staffer in violation of House rules. Klobuchar Rally in Minnesota Canceled Amid Protests
Sen. Amy Klobuchar canceled a rally in her home state Sunday night as several dozen protesters chanted “Black Lives Matter,” “Klobuchar has got to go” and “Free Myon” — referencing the case of a black teenager convicted of murder after a flawed police investigation.

Missouri Farmer Wins $265 Million Verdict Against Monsanto
A Missouri peach farmer notched a rare courtroom victory this month, defeating the former Monsanto Co. and chemical giant BASF in the first of what is expected to be a series of court fights over claims that the companies are responsible for pesticide damage that has wiped out orchards, gardens, and organic farm fields in multiple states.
On February 14, a unanimous jury awarded Bill Bader and his family-owned Bader Farms $15 million in compensatory damages. The following day, they added on another $250 million in punitive damages to be paid by Bayer AG (Monsanto’s German owner) and BASF. The jury found that Monsanto and BASF conspired in actions that created what Bader’s attorney called an “ecological disaster” designed to increase profits at the expense of farmers such as Bader.
The verdict followed three weeks of documentary evidence and testimony introduced in US District Court in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The evidence proved that Bader Farms suffered extensive damage to its peach business from dicamba, a herbicide sprayed by neighboring farmers that drifted into the Bader orchard. The dicamba did so much damage that the Bader farm is essentially being forced out of business due to the loss of 30,000 peach trees, according to Bader attorney Bill Randles.
“It’s very sad,” Randles said in an interview with Sierra. “He’s been the ‘peach guy.’ Now . . . his peach farm cannot survive.”

Politicians Say and Do the Darnedest Things
If you listen to the campaigns from Bernie Sanders, Liz Warren, Mike Bloomberg, Mayor Pete (can’t pronounce his last name), Sleepy Joe Biden, Cory Booker or Kamala Harris and the rest of them—America can’t survive another four years of Trump. We’re all going to hell in a handbasket. This country is being led by a racist and everyone who voted him into office can only be one thing: a racist.
But let’s look at what’s really going on in Washington DC. First of all, Bernie Sanders never held a job before wiggling his way into Congress. Reports say that he lived on food stamps, welfare and handouts. He’s never passed a single bill in all his years in Congress. But, he’s going to solve all of our problems as president. At the same time, he honors Fidel Castro as a progressive and thinks Venezuela meets the benchmark for the successes of socialism. Sanders neglects to mention that Castro executed anyone who disagreed with him and he kept Cuba in the economic prison of the 1950’s to this day. Freedom in Cuba: none! And, Venezuela, Bernie, I need to speak with you about that place. Its people are starving to death.
Yet, at 78, and one heart attack already, when will the next one hit? Sanders keeps scolding anyone who supports Trump. Why would an old man past his prime want to work in a job that carries SO much stress and will give him another heart attack that might kill him? As Lord Acton said, “Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” From my 50 years of watching them, politicians prove themselves the strangest breed of cat on the planet.

Supreme Court Agrees to Hear Case on Whether ObamaCare is Unconstitutional
The Supreme Court announced Monday that it would hear a GOP-led effort against Obamacare, with opening arguments likely slated for the fall after the justices initially decided against fast-tracking a ruling.
Obamacare came under threat in December when the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in a 2-1 vote that the individual mandate, which required Americans to buy health insurance under threat of fine, was unconstitutional. Virginia Democrat Admits He Retaliated Against Sheriffs Over Their Support for Second Amendment
Democrats livid law enforcement won’t follow unconstitutional laws.
Northern Virginia Democrat and Senate Majority Leader, Dick Saslaw, has been at the center of a week-long media controversy that began when Republican Senator, Bill Stanley, published remarks he said Saslaw made to him after voting down a pay raise for Virginia’s Sheriff’s Departments.
According to a post Stanley made to his Facebook account back on February 20th, as the Senate voted to fund Virginia’s most expensive budget ever, Saslaw spearheaded a unanimous effort by Democrats to vote down an amendment funding a 3% pay raise for employees of Virginia’s Sheriff’s Departments.
Following the vote, Stanley says Saslaw approached him saying, “Hey Stanley, you want to know why your Sheriffs didn’t get a raise? — because they came to our committees and said that they weren’t going to enforce our laws.” When Stanley asked Saslaw what he was referring to, he replied, “gun control.”
“He didn’t lie…I said it,” says Saslaw. “All I said was a lot of people are upset that these people come in and say they’re not going to enforce our laws. That’s all.”
Saslaw isn’t the first Virginia Democrat to retaliate — or threaten to retaliate — against law enforcement officers who refuse to violate their oaths. As the 2nd Amendment Sanctuary movement heated up across Virginia, Democrat Representative Donald McEachin floated the idea of Governor Northam calling up the National Guard to combat resistance to gun control and confiscation legislation.
McEachin’s co-worker, Representative Gerry Connolly, wasn’t far behind, threatening to throw officers in jail should they not comply with his party’s gun control agenda.

Coronavirus is continuing to spread in Canada. In Toronto, three new cases have been confirmed—bringing the total cases in the province to 18, according to the CBC.

Media Darling Trudeau Sees Popularity Plummet Among Canadians
A vast majority of Canadians agree with the statement, “Right now, Canada is broken,” according to a new National Post newspaper survey.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau fared poorly as well, as two-thirds of Canadians don’t believe he has delivered on his signature pledge to help Canada’s indigenous population.

Czech Republic Reports First Cases of Coronavirus
PRAGUE (Reuters) — The Czech Republic has confirmed its first three cases of coronavirus, with all the patients having traveled from northern Italy, Health Minister Adam Vojtech said on Sunday.
Health officials said the patients — two Czechs and an American student who studied in Milan — showed mild symptoms. Two were in Prague and the third in the city of Usti nad Labem, 90 km (56 miles) north of the capital.

Dutch Terror Trial Starting for Deadly Utrecht Tram Shooting
UTRECHT, Netherlands (AP) — A terrorism trial starts Monday for a Dutch man of Turkish descent who allegedly opened fire on a tram in the central city of Utrecht last year, killing four people.
Prosecutors have charged Gokmen Tanis with four counts of murder with terrorist intent and three counts of attempted murder as well as making a terrorist threat against 17 people over his alleged role in the shooting spree on March 18, 2019.
He faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment if convicted.

Johnson Says U.S. Trade Deal Will Result in £3.4bn Boost to UK Economy

Scotland Says 250,000 Could be Hospitalised if Coronavirus Spreads
The Scottish government has forecast that up to 250,000 people could be admitted to hospital if the coronavirus outbreak mushrooms into a full-scale epidemic.

A Scottish teenager is in “serious” condition after a gang of “Asian boys” dragged him into the middle of the road and stamped on his head in the centre of Glasgow.

Ruling Party in Indian State Maharashtra Denies Muslim Reservation

China is increasing its already extremely severe suppression of religious freedom. More than a year ago, at a November 2018 hearing of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China, the President of the Religious Freedom Institute, Thomas F. Farr, described China’s religious suppression as “the most systematic and brutal attempt to control Chinese religious communities since the Cultural Revolution.”
On December 30, 2019, China’s Communist Party (CCP) announced new “Administrative Measures for Religious Groups”. The measures — which came into force on February 1, 2020 — stipulate that religious organizations exist to promote the CCP and its ideology, according to Bitter Winter, a magazine on religious liberty and human rights in China.

Chinese Reds Set a Trap for Trump
President Trump is in a difficult situation. If he were to disclose circumstantial evidence that the coronavirus virus is a Chinese bioweapon, there would be calls for retaliation against the Communist regime. Such a declaration could lead to more fear, the threat of war, and perhaps a global economic collapse. As it is, the virus is causing a market meltdown. He does not want to contribute to a panic and further collapse.

Scientists Have Identified a New Species of Red Pandas
Scientists from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing have discovered a new species of red Panda or small. Reported by the journal Science Advances.
Prior to this it was believed that this Panda is a one of a kind.
It is noted that the researchers conducted DNA analysis of 65 wild red pandas and identified two separate types of these kind of animals. We are talking about China (with red fur and striped tails) and Himalayan (with a lighter muzzle) pandas.

U.N. Says Greece Has No Right to Stop Accepting Asylum Requests
The United Nation’s refugee agency said on Monday that Greece had no right to stop accepting asylum applications as Athens struggled with a sudden increase of arrivals at its border of Middle East refugees and migrants from Turkey.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Sunday his country would not be accepting any new asylum requests for a month after two days of clashes between border police and thousands of people seeking to enter the EU from Turkey.

I maybe an optimist but it’s now or never! Who on earth would rather see the slow suicide of Europe anyways? Just get it over with if there is no hope!
