83 People in Nassau County Being Monitored for Possible Coronavirus Exposure

Dozens of Long Island residents are being monitored for potential exposure to the deadly coronavirus, health officials announced Wednesday.

Eighty-three Nassau County residents have been asked to undergo a two-week voluntary quarantine from the date that they traveled to China or had contact with someone infected with the virus, news station WPVI reported.

“We’re monitoring this situation in Nassau very, very closely and have been right from the beginning to respond to any cases should they emerge in our county,” Nassau County Executive Laura Curran said at a press conference.

The group is required to report their temperature and any symptoms every day to local health officials, WPVI reported.

No one has been diagnosed with the virus, but tests for one resident are pending, officials said.

American Gun Ownership: The Positive Impacts of Law-Abiding Citizens Owning Firearms

The anti-gun news bias is widespread among the “urban elite” who have very little personal experience with guns and yet write for influential newspapers like The New York Times, Washington Post, etc. Despite this bias, law-abiding private citizens owning guns does have positive impacts on American society that often go unreported — many of which are significant.

Perhaps the most notable impact of gun ownership on American society is how it influences the behavior of criminals.

The fact is, criminals fear armed citizens more than they do the police. There’s many reasons for this, but here are the most prominent:

Police are rarely onsite during a crime.

Police are bound by policy and procedures, and are trained to only use their firearms if it’s absolutely necessary.

Civilians are also less trained.

In a research study sponsored by the United States Department of Justice, James Wright and Peter Rossi interviewed over 1,800 incarcerated felons, asking how they felt about civilians and gun ownership. Thirty-three percent of these criminals admitted to being scared off, shot at, wounded, or captured by a gun-owning victim. Sixty-nine percent of them knew at least one other criminal who had similar experiences. Nearly 80 percent of felons also claimed that they intentionally avoid victims and homes that they believe may be armed.

This shows that at least one in three criminals has been deterred because of an armed citizen, and that four out five avoid victimizing people that have guns.

Apple Shareholders Reject Motion to Publicly Declare Freedom of Expression as a Human Right

Apple had its annual shareholders meeting earlier today and it included votes on several different proposals. One of the proposals was critical of Apple’s cooperation with requests from the Communist Chinese government to censor apps from the App Store.

Despite mounting pressure against the company, shareholders voted downthe motion that Apple should be “publicly committed to respect freedom of expression as a human right.”

This year, around 40% of votes cast were in support for the measure. In 2018, when this was last proposed, around just 6% were supporting of the idea — meaning sentiment within the company is changing and pressure is mounting on Apple to support free speech.

Firefox Now Defaults to DNS-Over-HTTPS for US Netizens and Some Are Dischuffed About This

Good for privacy — or an alarming move towards further internet centralisation?

DNS has a number of security and privacy weaknesses. A malicious DNS server could direct you to a site you did not request, or someone could eavesdrop or tamper with DNS traffic. Privacy is an issue because the server that resolves your DNS requests has a record of your browsing history, which has commercial value as well as being of potential interest to spies and law enforcement.

Mozilla’s answer to the problems thrown up here is to set the DNS resolver in Firefox to Cloudflare by default, with an option for NextDNS or your own custom provider if you’re sufficiently techie to dig into the browser’s networking settings.

The Extreme Panic the Coronavirus is Causing Elsewhere on the Globe Could Soon be Coming to the U.S.

U.S. government officials are doing their best to keep the general population calm, but everyone can see what is happening in the rest of the world. There are now empty store shelves in Italy just like there are in China. People are waiting in extremely long lines to buy masks in South Korea just like we saw in Hong Kong. And victims are literally collapsing in public in Iran just like we witnessed in Wuhan. This coronavirus outbreak is rapidly becoming a true global pandemic, and the panic that this has caused on Wall Street resulted in a 1,031 point drop for the Dow Jones Industrial Average on Monday. Fear is rising all over the planet, and many believe that it is just a matter of time before the same things that are happening elsewhere start happening here.

Originally, 99 percent of the confirmed cases were in China, but now the rest of the globe is starting to catch up.

In fact, the number of confirmed cases outside of China has gotten more than 10 times larger over the last three weeks.

If we continue to see that sort of exponential growth we will soon be facing a nightmare of epic proportions.

YouTube may have more than a billion users, but it’s not a public forum run by the government and therefore its decision to moderate content isn’t a violation of the First Amendment, an appellate court has ruled.

Radio talk show host Dennis Prager sued Google in 2017, claiming that his conservative PragerU videos weren’t getting the same treatment as liberal ones, like Real Time With Bill Maher clips, in violation of the First Amendment. A California federal judge dismissed the complaint in March 2018 on the grounds that YouTube isn’t a public forum run by a state actor and can regulate videos uploaded to the site as it sees fit.

Coronavirus Update as Death Toll Over 2,700 Worldwide, Outbreak in Italy Spreads Across Europe

As new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus emerge, including one in which a U.S. soldier at a military base in South Korea tested positive for the virus, Americans have been told to prepare for the virus to spread in the U.S.

“It’s not so much a question of if this will happen anymore,” but rather one of when, the U.S. Centers for Diseases Control (CDC) warned on Tuesday.

Several countries have banned the entry of travelers from South Korea, which currently has the highest number of cases outside China, while mainland Spain, Greece, Switzerland, Croatia, and Austria have now also reported their first cases.

Most of the newly-infected in Europe stemmed from Italy, which has the third highest number of confirmed cases, after China and South Korea, following a recent surge over the past weekend. Iran has the highest death toll from the virus outside China so far, with the country reportedly having seen 15 deaths from the virus.

The deadly virus, first identified in Wuhan city in the province of Hubei, has now infected more than 80,000 people globally, with 77,780 cases confirmed in China alone, according to the latest report by the World Health Organization (WHO) on Tuesday.

There are at least 2,459 cases across 33 countries reported outside China, with 34 deaths reported. China has seen at least 2,666 deaths from the virus, according to the report.

France: Roughly 300 Convicted Jihadists to be Released From Prisons in the Next 3 Years

Nicole Belloubet, France’s acting Minister of Justice, has said that France is set to release around 300 convicted terrorists in the next few years, starting with forty-three convicted terrorists in 2020, another sixty the following year, and even more between 2021 and 2023.

Belloubet stated that France’s secret services will ‘closely follow’ the released terrorists. A lot of voices, especially those on France’s political right are particularly worried, have deep concerns, and want extreme measures taken to keep these terrorists behind bars, The Sun reports.

Italy: Coronavirus: Blame Row Breaks Out Between Conte, Fontana

Premier said failure to respect protocol contributed to spread

(ANSA) — Rome, February 24 — Lombardy Governor Attilio Fondana hit back hard on Tuesday after Premier Giuseppe Conte said that the failure of a hospital, presumably in the northern region, to follow the proper procedure contributed to the spread of the coronavirus. “There was a hotspot and it spread from there in part due to the management of a hospital that was not done entirely according to the prudent protocols that are recommended in these cases,” Conte said.

“This contributed to the spread”. “I hope this is a slip of the tongue that came out without him realising,” Fontana told RAI radio.

“Otherwise it means the government is starting to spin out of control.

“The comments are groundless and unacceptable”. Lombardy Welfare Chief Giulio Gallera went even further.

“It was unacceptable comment from an ignorant person because he is ignorant of what the protocols set by the Higher Health Institute (ISS) were,” Gallera said. “We have slavishly following what the ISS decided and the (health) ministry’s guidelines”.

Pedophile Allegations Against UK MPs ‘Should Have Rung Alarm Bells in Govt’ But Senior Figures Turned Blind Eye — Inquiry

173-page report compiled by independent inquiry into child sexual abuse dismissed claims of conspiracy involving ‘organised Westminster pedophile network.’

Politicians, including former Conservative PM Margaret Thatcher, police and prosecutors “turned a blind eye” to allegations of child sexual abuse connected to Westminster and ignored victims, an independent inquiry has found.

The 173-page report compiled by the independent inquiry into child sexual abuse dismissed claims of a conspiracy involving an “organised Westminster pedophile network,” but did reveal serious cover-ups by British institutions. The review was published on Tuesday following hearings over the past two years.

The investigation, which went into allegations dating as far back as the 1960s, concluded that “political parties showed themselves, even very recently, to be more concerned about political fallout than safeguarding.” It goes on to say that the honors system “prioritized reputation” over the welfare of victims of the nominated persons.

The findings may prove to be uncomfortable reading for PM Boris Johnson. As recently as March last year, Johnson told LBC radio that money was being “spaffed up the wall” on historical child abuse investigations.

Sweden’s Victimized Children

The number of children who rob other children has increased by 100% in only four years, according to a new study by Swedish police about reported violent crimes in which children under the age of 15 are both the victims and the perpetrators. In 2016, there were 1,178 robberies against children under 18 years of age. In 2019, the number had increased to 2,484. The number of violent crimes where the suspect is a child under 15 years of age has also gone up dramatically: In 2015, there were 6,359 reported violent crimes where the suspect was a child under 15. In 2019, that number had increased to 8,719 reported violent crimes.

UK Government Document Warns Coronavirus Could Infect 80 Per Cent, Kill Half a Million Brits

A leaked UK government document warns that under a worst case scenario, 80 per cent of Brits could be infected with the coronavirus and half a million would die.

The document, which was leaked to the Sun newspaper, outlines “the reasonable worst case” outcome in which four fifths of the country to succumb to the virus.

“The current planning assumption is that 2-3 per cent of symptomatic cases will result in a fatality,” states the document, meaning that 500,000 would die.

A spokesman for the Department of Health and Social Care emphasized that such numbers were a worst case scenario and “this does not mean we expect it to happen.”

Earlier today, more than 300 staff members of American oil company Chevron were evacuated from a building in London’s Canary Wharf after an employee returning from an infected country reported flu symptoms.

Veteran Brexiteer: Walking Away Without Deal Will Hurt European Union, Not Britain

Former Brexit secretary David Davis has signalled that good news for Brexiteers lays ahead in the coming trade deal negotiations with the European Union, noting the British side now holds all the cards, as the European Union cannot afford to let Britain go without a deal.

Speaking Wednesday morning, following the publication of the European Union’s own negotiating positions document on Tuesday and before the British equivalent is due to be published on Thursday, veteran Brexiteer David Davis said he expected the government to cleave to its own red lines in the coming negotiations.

China Demands Russia Stop Profiling Potential Coronavirus Victims Using Public Transport in Moscow

China has demanded Russia stop profiling potential Chinese coronavirus victims who are being interviewed and tested by police while using public transport in Moscow.

The Chinese Embassy in Russia sent a letter questioning why Moscow police and subway workers were checking passengers believed to be Chinese for signs of coronavirus.

The practice of profiling and checking people believed to be Chinese citizens in public places isn’t being done anywhere else in the world.

Ex-Kremlin Aide: Ukraine Will Never Reclaim Rebel East

MOSCOW (AP) — A former senior aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that Ukraine will never be able to regain control over the separatist-controlled east.

Vladislav Surkov, who lost his job as Putin’s adviser on Ukraine earlier this month, said in remarks published Wednesday that he stepped down because of a shift in the Kremlin course on the Ukrainian conflict. He didn’t spell out specific reasons for his departure, saying only that it was due to a “change in context” on Ukraine.

Two New Ancient Species of Cockroaches Found in Cave in Myanmar

An international team of researchers has identified two new ancient species of cockroach found in a cave in Myanmar. In their paper published in the journal Gondwana Research, the group describes their analyses of the two specimens, which were preserved in amber.

The two specimens were given the names Crenocticola svadba and Mulleriblattina bowangi and were placed in the Nocticolidae family—and both have been dated back to approximately 99 million years ago. The time frame puts them in the Cretaceous period—a time when dinosaurs were still alive.

Chinese Medical Workers Use Academic Studies to Bypass Coronavirus Censorship and Call for Help

The three-month-old respiratory virus that has taken the world by storm has finally reached Latin America. On February 24th, Brazil confirmed its first case of coronavirus after 61-year-old Brazilian man returned from a two-week trip to Italy.

Italy has so far seen the fastest spread of the virus outside of Asia, due to an admitted mishandling of their first patient. There are now over 400 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Italy.

Meanwhile in China, the epicenter of this increasingly global event, more than half the population has been placed on various degrees of a lockdown.

Amidst panic and anxiety, the Chinese populace has been turning to the internet.

As we’ve covered previously though, they aren’t allowed to discuss the virus, even in the context of warning others or discussing their situations.

The Chinese government has officially deemed the subject a threat to national security and discussing it “an attack” on the country and its ruling party.

The Chinese government has been swiftly banning the accounts of those who partake in this discussion on Chinese social media.

On non-Chinese social media like Twitter, they’ve been showing up at people’s homes and confiscating their phones.

These dire circumstances have lead some Chinese medical workers to take to academic journals as a way around the censorship — to try and get a message out to the world.

Coronavirus Outbreak: French Citizen Dies, Iran Death Toll Rises

The first French citizen has died of coronavirus within the country — as Iran clocked the largest death toll from the outbreak outside China, according to new reports.

The 60-year-old French man died overnight after being rushed to a Paris hospital in serious condition Tuesday evening, according to officials.

His death marked the second coronavirus-related fatality in the country following the death of an 80-year-old Chinese tourist.

It was not immediately clear where the man contracted the virus, as he hadn’t recently traveled to contaminated regions.

The unidentified man was among three new COVID-19 cases reported in France on Wednesday — bringing the total number of cases reported in the country to 17, including two fatalities.

Fight the Coronavirus by Defunding the United Nations

If the WHO had acted sooner, more people could have been spared, and a global pandemic might have been avoided. The number of cases has surpassed 80,000 in 37 countries.

Those who hate Trump and love China want to ignore the possibility that the virus could be a man-made weapon or leaked from a laboratory. But the Trump Administration is prepared. Trump in 2018 signed the National Biodefense Strategy, drawing on lessons learned from biological incidents that include the 2001 anthrax attacks, the 2009 influenza pandemic, the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak, the 2014 West Africa Ebola epidemic, and the Zika virus outbreak.

The WHO failed to respond quickly and properly to the epidemic. Perhaps, as a matter of social justice, the WHO headquarters ought to be relocated to the coronavirus epicenter of Wuhan City, China. Let’s see if that gets them moving more quickly to save their jobs.

[Comment: UN is a tool of globalists whose wet dream is depopulation. What a coincidence that WHO and other globalists working in western governments seem to have helped spread the virus.]

Here Are the 425 Billion Reasons Why WHO Refuses to Call the COVID-19 Outbreak a “Pandemic”

The World Bank launched a $425 million 2017 catastrophe bond issue supporting its Pandemic Emergency Financing Facility (PEF). There are two tranches of PEF bonds outstanding, expected to mature in July, and this means investors of the bonds will collect massive profits if the bonds aren’t triggered or will lose everything if the Covid-19 outbreak continues to escalate.

It’s becoming increasingly apparent why the World Health Organization (WHO) has had a difficult time calling Covid-19 outbreak a “pandemic,” this is because it would cause both bonds to trigger, effectively wiping out bondholders.

The World Bank issued two tranches of PEF bonds worth $425 million in 2017. Bondholders have seen two years of above-average returns with no concern of virus outbreaks around the world that would trigger even the slightest hint both bonds would go into default, until now.

The Covid-19 outbreak in China, spreading across 38 countries and infecting more than 80,000 people, resulting in 2,700 deaths, could leave investors of the bonds with absolutely nothing.

Ominous Warnings About the Very Rapid Spread of the Coronavirus

Is a widespread coronavirus outbreak inside the United States inevitable? After weeks of generally optimistic statements, officials are now warning us to prepare for the worst. Over the past several days we have seen the number of confirmed cases outside of China escalate dramatically, and this has really rattled global financial markets. After being down more than 1,000 points on Monday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell another 879 points on Tuesday. U.S. stocks have lost more than 1.7 trillion dollars in value in just two days. Much more importantly, a wave of tremendous panic is starting to sweep across America, and it looks like this crisis is just getting started.

Usually officials at the CDC choose their words very carefully so that they do not needlessly alarm the public. With that in mind, I would like for you to consider three statements that the CDC’s Dr. Nancy Messonnier made about a potential outbreak inside the United States during a press conference on Tuesday…

#1 “It’s not so much of a question of if this will happen in this country anymore but a question of when this will happen.”

#2 “Disruption to everyday life may be severe.”

#3 “We are asking the American public to prepare for the expectation that this might be bad.”

Can you ever recall a top CDC official ever making statements this ominous?

I certainly can’t.

According to reports, law enforcement quickly noticed that someone had set fire to the church’s wooden facade and were able to alert firefighters, preventing more extensive damage.

Court Hands Trump Win in Sanctuary City Fight, Says Administration Can Deny Grant Money

A federal appeals court on Wednesday handed a major win to the Trump administration in its fight against “sanctuary” jurisdictions, ruling that it can deny grant money to states that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities.

The 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals in New York overturned a lower court ruling that stopped the administration’s 2017 move to withhold grant money from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program, which dispenses over $250 million a year to state and local criminal justice efforts.

Greeks Plan 24-Hour Protests on Two Islands to Stop Construction of New Invader Camps

ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Local authorities declared a 24-hour strike on two eastern Greek islands Wednesday to protest government plans to build new migrant detention camps there.

The strike shut down services on the islands of Lesbos and Chios, which have been the main points of arrival for tens of thousands of people fleeing war or poverty in the Middle East, Asia and Africa.

The strike comes after protesters clashed with riot police on the two islands during efforts to prevent the arrival of excavating machines from the mainland to start construction of the new detention centers.

Increasing Numbers of So-Called “Asylum Seekers” Arrive in Europe Legally

BRUSSELS (AP) — Increasing numbers of people applying for asylum in the European Union are arriving from countries with visa-free travel agreements with the bloc, notably from Latin America, rather than entering without permission, the EU’s asylum agency said Wednesday.

More than 714,000 people applied for asylum or some form of international protection in Europe last year, up 13% from 2018, the European Asylum Support Office, or EASO, said in its latest report on asylum trends in 2019.

Swedish Journalist to Revisit “No-Go Area” Where He Was Beaten and Robbed in December

When independent journalist Joakim Lamotte reported live from Kronogården in Trollhättan — an infamous no-go zone — last December to highlight the recurring riots of the local migrant gangs, he was attacked, beaten and robbed.

This Wednesday, Sweden’s state TV (SVT), had planned to premiere its new debate program in the same area with Lamotte as one of the guests but ended up canceling it at the last minute, fearing it may “cause concern” among the migrants.

On Tuesday, however, Lamotte announced that he will return alone for a new live broadcast from Kronogården.

Pope Francis Says Give Up Online Trolling for Lent

Every year during Lent, Catholics are commonly asked to give up on indulgences such as candy, chocolate, alcohol, or other vices.

But this year, Pope Francis went on to ask people to quit trolling others on social media.

“We like in an atmosphere polluted by way too much verbal violence, too many offensive and harmful words, which are amplified by the internet. Today, people insult each other as if they were saying ‘Good Day’“, said the Pope.

Today, while addressing tens of thousands of people in St. Peter’s Square, marking the 40-day season that leads up to Easter, Pope Francis made an appeal to let go of all negative activity on social media.

Senate Democrats Block Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act

Senate Democrats have blocked a bill by Republicans that would stop infanticide and require medical care and treatment for babies born alive after failed abortions, despite the bill’s support among even those who classify themselves as pro-abortion.

The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act would require doctors to provide medical care for infants who survive attempted abortions. Anyone who violates the act would be subject to a fine or imprisonment up to five years. The bill is one of two abortion-related bills that were voted on in the Senate on Tuesday.

Where Else Can it Lead But Civil War?

Instead of living under the one ideology of individual freedom, over 100 years ago we split into two opposing ideologies with the birth of Progressivism. One ideology believes in the principles of individual liberty as outlined in America’s Supreme Law of the Land, the U. S. Constitution. The Progressive ideology has attached itself to a Karl Marx Communist Manifesto whose principles are founded on the collective and the alleged infallible power of the state, not the individual, as follows:

Nothing in society will belong to anyone, either as a personal possession or as capital goods, except the things for which the person has immediate use, for either his needs, his pleasures, or his daily work. Every citizen will be a public man, sustained by, supported by, and occupied at the public expense.

III. Every citizen will make his particular contribution to the activities of the community according to his capacity, his talent and his age; it is on this basis that his duties will be determined, in conformity with the distributive laws ……. as summarized in the statement: “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.”

The principles of these two opposing ideologies, socialism vs. freedom, are mutually exclusive. They are in contradiction with each other. There is no compromise between the two.

The socialism side is now viciously and violently attacking the freedom side, throughout America. They are doing everything in their power to squelch the opinions and beliefs of those that support individual freedom. To not fight back is a sign of weakness and only emboldens the socialism side.

A bully not confronted and taken down, is a bully empowered to continue on his path of destruction and devastation of lives and livelihoods, especially those self-righteous bullies that bully others under the false flag of irrational compassion, such as taxpayer-funded free health care and other subsidies for illegal aliens that Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders is promoting.

Bernie’s rise to the apparent front-runner in the presidential election year of 2020 is further proof that millions of Americans have crossed over the tipping point into the mindset of socialism.

One man or woman, or a group of men or women, with governmental power over the masses, but without limits, oversight, or confronted by a force of equal power, will eventually assume absolute power. The national and international ruling class, oligarchs, industry titans, elites, anarchists and socialists are well on their way to assuming absolute world power. If they succeed, war in America is inevitable.

  2. To-day: “The UK government has refused to release the findings of an official review into the characteristics of Pakistani and other Muslim grooming gangs. In response to a freedom-of-information request filed by the Independent, the Home Office has said releasing the information at this time would not be in the ‘public interest’.”

    • Very funny! In Germany they sayed something else after an Terrorattack…

Also did you know that the frst grooming gang was known 1975!

  3. ABC suspending a reporter for telling the truth about the network’s dismal reportage.

Wright should be rewarded and placed in charge of bringing real, objective NEWS back to the formerly AMERICAN broadcasting corporation.

    • Not really! He is as corrupt as the “party of corruption” for 190 years, and worse yet, he is a hard core “socialist”, his comment in Veritas interview, hence just another would be superiority class dictator-totalitarian, an easy communist, in other words.

  4. Wright should be rewarded by ABC for telling the truth about it’s sorry reportage. The quality of the Evening News with Muir has gone down drastically in the last year. Why?

  5. Feeling jaunty and I think I’ll put on my XXXXL Russian hockey jersey complete with hammer and sickle paired with a clown wig and face mask to head over to the local liberal bookstore.
Who knew that peak clown would be so wildly entertaining. At least we aren’t a part of the hordes of zombies who would recoil in fear if they ever had an original thought outside of the hivemind groupthink of lameassery.
