Poland’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased to .3 percent in December 2019 from 3.2 percent in November 2019, Eurostat, the EU’s statistical office, reported on Thursday.

According to Poland’s Central Statistical Office (GUS), the unemployment rate in the country rose to 5.2 percent in December 2019 from 5.1 percent a month earlier.

The discrepancy between GUS and Eurostat figures results from the use of different methodologies.

Poland: Rates Council Sees GDP Growth at 3.7 Pct, CPI at 3.5 Pct in 2020

Poland’s economy will grow by 3.7 percent and inflation should be capped at 3.5 percent in 2020, the Monetary Policy Council (RPP) wrote in a comment on the draft budget law for 2020, which assumes GDP growth at 3.7 pct and CPI at 2.5 pct.

According to RPP, the budget bill is based on realistic assumptions regarding economic growth but inflation may exceed the government’s expectations. “The fiscal policy will contribute to higher GDP growth in 2020, reducing the scale of the expected economic slowdown. At the same time, it will contribute to higher inflation in 2020,” the rates body wrote.

Bernie Sanders Endorses the ‘Squad’ As Democrats Angle to Keep House Majority

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) on Wednesday endorsed seven progressive lawmakers, including the four far-left members of the “Squad,” ahead of the looming general election as Democrats attempt to maintain their majority in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Sanders endorsed seven lawmakers on Wednesday, including the four far-left members of the “Squad — Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), all of whom, minus Pressley, endorsed his presidential bid.

The socialist senator also threw his weight behind Reps. Ro Khanna (D-CA), who co-chairs Sanders’ campaign, and Mark Pocan (D-WI), who chairs his campaign in Wisconsin.

Additionally, Sanders endorsed Rep. Peter Welch (D-VT) and two congressional candidates — Jessica Cisneros, vying for Texas’s 28th District and Georgette Gómez, running for California’s 53rd District.

Breaking: Twitter Suspends Independent News Outlet Zero Hedge

Twitter has suspended the independent news outlet Zero Hedge. The publication, which enjoyed a following of over 673,000 followers on Twitter, was unceremoniously nuked from the social media platform following its report that the origins of the deadly coronavirus (2019-nCoV) may have a man-made origin, in addition to reports that the Chinese government may be suppressing the total number of people infected by the deadly illness that is sweeping throughout Wuhan.

According to the pseudonymous Zero Hedge writer, Tyler Durden, mainstream media outlets have been pushing back against the story by pointing fingers at Zero Hedge for covering the topic that has received widespread attention on social media due to the postings of Dr. Eric Feigl-Ding and Dr. Anand Ranganathan, who highlighted studies noting the coronavirus’ strange properties.

CNN is Angry That White People Are Trying to Stop the Coronavirus Spreading

According to CNN, the real concern about the coronavirus is not the potential for a global pandemic, it’s the fact there are too many white people trying to stop it.

That was the message sent by an article posted on the news network’s website entitled ‘Coronavirus task force another example of Trump administration’s lack of diversity’.

The two images illustrating the article showed Barack Obama’s circle of advisers during the 2017 Ebola outbreak and President Trump’s advisers during a recent meeting about the coronavirus outbreak. In the photograph showing Trump’s advisers, most of them are, God forbid, white men.

Coronavirus: First Case Confirmed in Santa Clara County

Santa Clara County health officials Friday afternoon announced the Bay Area’s first confirmed case of the novel coronavirus that has alarmed health officials around the world, saying it sickened a local man after he returned a week earlier from traveling in China where the disease originated.

County Health Officer Sara Cody said the man recently traveled to Wuhan, China, and returned Jan. 24 to Mineta San Jose International Airport and then first showed symptoms after getting home. He is the Bay Area’s first confirmed case, the third in California and the seventh in the United States, Cody said Friday.

DNC Members Discuss Rules Change to Stop Sanders at Convention

DES MOINES, Iowa — A small group of Democratic National Committee members has privately begun gauging support for a plan to potentially weaken Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign and head off a brokered convention.

In conversations on the sidelines of a DNC executive committee meeting and in telephone calls and texts in recent days, about a half-dozen members have discussed the possibility of a policy reversal to ensure that so-called superdelegates can vote on the first ballot at the party’s national convention. Such a move would increase the influence of DNC members, members of Congress and other top party officials, who now must wait until the second ballot to have their say if the convention is contested.

Harvard Chemistry Chair & Two Chinese Nationals Arrested for Lying About China Ties, Smuggling “Biological Material”

Will this Harvard Chemistry Department Head be remembered as the Aldrich Ames of the modern-day ‘Cold War’?

In a shocking revelation made Tuesday afternoon — a revelation that will almost certainly rattle the US-China relationship at an already fragile time — a federal court unsealed indictments against Harvard professor and Chemistry Department Head Charles Lieber, along with two Chinese nationals. One is a Boston University researcher who was once a lieutenant in the People’s Liberation Army, according to prosecutors, and the second was a cancer researcher who tried to smuggle 21 vials of biological materials in his sock — allegedly. Lieber has been arrested, though it’s not clear if he’s still in custody.

Though the official charge was lying to investigators, Lieber’s actions look like an unvarnished attempt at espionage, complete with an extremely seductive monetary reward.

House Democrats Approve Social Credit Score for Americans

Elizabeth Warren’s Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) could alter credit scores based on politics, religion, etc.

House Democrats voted against an amendment on Wednesday, which would have stopped the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) from demanding credit bureaus evaluate Americans’ credit scores based on religion, politics and other aspects.

The failed amendment would have prevented the CFPB from forcing private credit score companies to “make use of information related to political opinions, religious expression, or other expression protected by the First Amendment, whether obtained from a social media account of a consumer or other sources.”

The CFPB, established by Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) during the Obama administration, would have the legal authority to force credit agencies to assign numbered scores to citizens directly reflecting the information gathered.

Italy: Facebook Removes Salvini ‘Pusher’ Doorbell Stunt Video

Widely condemned electoral stunt pulled for inciting hate

(ANSA) — Bologna, January 28 — Facebook on Tuesday removed a video of rightwing strongman Matteo Salvini ringing a doorbell in an electoral stunt in Bologna and asking if a pusher lived there.

Facebook said it had taken the video down due to a privacy breach.

The video was removed at the request of the victim of the stunt, 17-year-old Tunisian Yassin, whose surname has not been released.

Surrounded by a film crew and a crowd of supporters, nationalist League party leader Salvini rang the bell after a woman who lost her son to drugs told him a pusher lived there.

Yassin has said he is not a pusher and that the woman was irked at him because he and friends let off fireworks outside her house.

The stunt, in the runup to regional elections which the League lost on Sunday, was widely condemned and drew the ire of Tunisia, whose ambassador protested.

Salvini has said he will apologise if the boy turns out not to be a pusher.

Yassin’s lawyer, anti-hate speech campaigner Cathy La Torre, announced that the video had been removed from the social network. “Facebook has removed from Matteo Salvini’s page the video of shame,” she said.

La Torre said she had asked for it to be removed because it allegedly instigated race hatred.

Yassin, who has not been placed under investigation by police, is suing Salvini.

In the Emilia Romagna elections, the League’s Lucia Bergonzoni lost by about eight points to the ruling centre-left Democratic Party’s (PD) incumbent Governor Stefano Bonaccini.

This was a blow to Salvini’s hopes of exploiting a victory in one of the staunchest leftwing strongholds to demand a change of government in Rome.

The PD are in government with the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) and two smaller parties.

The Emilia Romagna victory has been seen as a boost for the government despite the M5S vote crumbling and despite a defeat to the centre right in the other regional elections on Sunday, in Calabria.

Salvini, who has said a victory in Emilia has “only been postponed”, said he would do everything he did in the electoral campaign again, including another stunt at a PD-run town hit by a fostering scandal, Bibbiano.

In the aftermath of the Emilia Romagna win, former premier Romano Prodi on Tuesday called on the PD to “open up” to other civic forces like the Sardines, a grassroots movement which sprang up in opposition to Salvini’s populist and allegedly rabble-rousing anti-migrant rhetoric.

Third Poll Shows Irish PM’s Party Behind in Election Race

DUBLIN (Reuters) — The party of Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar is trailing its main rival ahead of a general election on Feb. 8, a third consecutive poll showed on Sunday, with data indicating few voters trust it on the key issues of housing and health.

The Sunday Business Post/Red C poll showed support for Varadkar’s Fine Gael party had fallen seven percentage points to 23% since its last poll in November while fellow center-right rival Fianna Fail was up two points to 26%.

It is the first time Varadkar’s party has fallen behind its rival in the Red C poll series since he came to power in 2017. The two other major polls published since the start of the campaign showed the party trailing by 12 and 2 points respectively.

U.K. Police Will Soon be Able to Search Through U.S. Data Without Asking a Judge

Law enforcement officials in the U.S. and U.K. have negotiated a deal that sells out the privacy rights of the public in both nations. For Americans, it will effectively abrogate Fourth Amendment protections, and subject their data to search and seizure by foreign police.

This is all going to start happening in a few months—unless Congress does something to stop it now. That’s why we’re launching an action today, asking you to reach out to your members of Congress and tell them to introduce a joint resolution that could put a halt to the deal. If it isn’t stopped, the worst parts of this deal will likely come standard on future agreements, and Americans will be subject to more and more searches by foreign police.

The full text of the U.S.-U.K. Cloud Act Agreement was unveiled in November, and it’s just as bad as we thought it would be. We joined with 19 other privacy, civil liberties, and human rights organizations, and sent a letter to Congress going through the long list of problems with the first Cloud Act deal.

Some of the key problems with the U.S.-U.K. Agreement include:

The agreement includes a weak standard for review, that doesn’t meet the 4th Amendment’s warrant requirement

There’s no prior judicial authorization required

The deal includes no safeguards for free expression

The people put under surveillance don’t need to be notified, on any level

The “minimization” procedures meant to protect U.S. persons are unfair, unequal, and won’t do the job

It will grant real-time access to communications, allowing foreign police to wiretap Americans’ conversations, ignoring the high requirements for a wiretap under U.S. law

These extraordinary search powers given to foreign police can be used even for relatively low-level crimes

In colonial times, the British military used general warrants to search through houses and seize property. This practice was part of what fueled the American Revolution, and formed the basis for the 4th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Congress shouldn’t let an executive agreement, negotiated behind closed doors, give away rights that have been enshrined in U.S. law for nearly 250 years.

UK: London Police Moves Forward With Full-Time Deployment of Facial Recognition Tech That Can’t Accurately Recognize Faces

The London Metropolitan Police sure loves its facial recognition tech. But it’s an unrequited love. The tech doesn’t appear to have done anything for the Met during its past deployments.

Documents obtained by Big Brother Watch in 2018 showed the Met’s deployments had rung up a 98% false positive rate in May of that year. Nothing improved as time went on. Subsequent documents showed a false positive rate of 100%. Every “match” was wrong. Not exactly the sort of thing you want to hear about tech capable of scanning 300 faces per second.

This followed an earlier report covering a test run by the South Wales Police at a handful of public events. In comparison, the South Wales tests were a success: a mere 92% of its matches were false positives.

[Comment: Big brother wants the hardware deployed and is assuming the facial recognition software will improve.]

Caroline Glick: The Oslo Blood Libel is Over

From 1994 through 1996, as a captain in the IDF, I served as a member of Israel’s negotiating team with the PLO. Those years were the heyday of the so-called peace process. As the coordinator of negotiations on civil affairs for the Coordinator of Government Activities in Judea, Samaria and Gaza, I participated in all of the negotiating sessions with the Palestinians that led to a half a dozen or so of agreements, including the Interim or Oslo B agreement from September 28, 1995, which transferred civil and military authorities in Judea and Samaria to the PLO.

Throughout the period of my work, I never found any reason to believe the peace process I was a part of would lead to peace. The same Palestinian leaders who joked with us in fancy meeting rooms in Cairo and Taba breached every commitment they made to Israel the minute the sessions ended.

Beginning with the PLO’s failure to amend its covenant that called for Israel’s destruction in nearly every paragraph; through their refusal to abide by the limits they had accepted on the number of weapons and security forces they were permitted to field in the areas under their security control; their continuous breaches of zoning and building laws and regulations; to their constant Nazi-like anti-Semitic propaganda and incitement and solicitation of terrorism against Israel — it was self-evident they were negotiating in bad faith. They didn’t want peace with Israel. They were using the peace process to literally take Israel apart piece by piece.

Israel’s leaders shrugged it off. Instead of protesting and cutting off contact until Yasser Arafat and his henchmen ended their perfidious behavior, Israel’s leaders ignored what was happening before their faces. And in a way, they had no option of doing anything else.

When Israel embarked on the Oslo peace process it accepted Oslo’s foundational assumption that Israel is to blame for the Palestinian war against it. From the first Oslo agreement, signed on the White House lawn on September 13, 1993, through all its derivative deals, Israel was required to carry out “confidence-building measures,” to prove its good faith and peaceful intentions to Arafat and his deputies.

Time after time, Israel was required to release terrorists from prison as a precondition for negotiations with the PLO. The goal of those negotiations in turn was to force Israel to release more terrorists from prison, and give more land, more money, more international legitimacy and still more terrorists to the PLO.

On Tuesday, this state of affairs ended…

Establishment Admits: We Are “Unable to Stop” The Spread of the Coronavirus

One establishment government is finally admitting that the ruling class of the world is going to be unable to stop the spread of the coronavirus. While globalists desperately attempt to craft a vaccine and save the day, other rulers think it could be too late.

According to the Daily Mail, Thailand’s government admits it’s “unable to stop” the spread of the coronavirus. The virus has already proven deadly and could be spreading much more rapidly than mainstream media and establishment ruling classes are willing to admit. Health minister Anutin Charnvirakul said there are too many Chinese visitors to stop the virus from spreading. At least 22,000 people from Wuhan are believed to have visited Thailand in January alone.

Martenson Fumes: The W.H.O. Just Prioritized Money Over Human Life

Yesterday, the World Health Organization (W.H.O.) declared that the Wuhan coronavirus is indeed now a pandemic.

Scary news, right?

Well…not if you kept listening. The W.H.O. then proceeded to downplay the risk to public health and took pains to make it clear it doesn’t recommend placing restrictions on global trade & travel at this time.

What?!? When we may be in dealing with a viral outbreak as (or more!) virulent than the Spanish Flu? (aka The Great Influenza)

Folks, this is nothing less than a political decision to keep business/commerce flowing without regard to public health.

The W.H.O. has chosen money over people’s lives:

As an aside, this is not the first time that WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has potentially not told the ‘whole truth’. As The NY Times reports, he was accused in 2017 of covering up three cholera epidemics in his home country, Ethiopia, when he was health minister.

The True Number of Coronavirus Victims is Far Larger Than You Are Being Told

The World Health Organization says that we are facing an “unprecedented outbreak”, and they are basing that assessment on the official numbers that we have been given so far. But what if those numbers are not accurate and this outbreak is actually much, much worse than we have been led to believe? According to the Chinese government, there are now 9,692 confirmed coronavirus cases in China, and the official death toll has risen to 213. But the Wall Street Journal has already documented the fact that the death toll is being artificially suppressed. As I discussed the other day, many of those that have died are being categorized as dying from “severe pneumonia” so that they won’t count as coronavirus deaths. Meanwhile, it is becoming exceedingly clear that the number of confirmed cases is also much lower than it should be. Large numbers of victims are being classified as “suspected cases” even after it is quite obvious that they have the virus.

CNN spoke to a Chinese woman named Shi Muying who has been told by her doctor that she has the coronravirus, but because a fourth test has not been administered yet she is still considered to be a “suspected case”…

8,000 Migrants in ‘Devil’s Route’ Caravan Prepare to Storm Mexican Border From Honduras in Bid to Get to US Despite Many Being Deported a Week Ago

At least 8,000 asylum seekers from Central America, including many who were deported last week, will test Mexico’s refusal to grant them unrestricted passage towards the United States by attempting to cross the border into the country yet again.

Hundreds of migrants gathered Thursday in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, and departed early Friday after word spread through Facebook channels and WhatsApp chain messages during the beginning of the week. The caravan is expected to be made up of at least 8,000 people.

The group was set to meet up with other refuge seekers in El Salvador to continue the ‘Devil’s Route’ through Guatemala before an anticipated showdown with Mexican security forces at the border.

The latest caravan has been labeled the ‘Devil’s Route’ because the migrants are setting out on the same path that a cargo train nicknamed ‘The Devil’ transits through, via the Mexican Pacific coast all the way to the Mexico-Texas border.
