2020 Vision

…A total portrait with no omissions.

Happy New Year, everyone!

The weather here isn’t at all like that shown in the photo at the top of this post. It’s been mild (and mostly dry) for more than a week. I haven’t seen any snow so far this winter.

It’s just that I like that picture a lot. The future Baron took it a number of years ago during a road trip to Southwestern Virginia, one of the most Deplorable regions of our sovereign Commonwealth.

  1. A song springs to mind:
” Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful and since we’ve no place to go, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow”.
Oldies but goldies, as a Beatles LP was titled. Memories.
    Happy New Year everyone.

  2. Happy New Year Baron! While I love that Blondie song, Life During Wartime by the Talking Heads might be more appropriate for the unfolding decade ahead.

  3. Whiteys are made to survive Ice Ages. We’ll have the last laugh when the Greta disciples are freezing. Bwahahah!
Be of good cheer and let’s go out and win this MOFO not just for us but for our ancestors so they don’t facepalm in Valhalla.

  4. I thought that you were saying in 2020 you would be ‘down the road’ and ‘over the hill’ having left through the ‘gates of Vienna’ to roam the country ’round.

    • That’s one of ours — translation and timing by DarLink, editing and formatting by me, subtitling by Vlad.

  5. And a Happy New Year to you, and all here.

The winters here in the UK were colder when I was young, and we got more snow; however, if the planet is warming, I seriously doubt whether it has much to do with us.

    • Over here in The Netherlands (next to you) it’s the same. Winter is mild and wet. But it always is like that this time of year. Traditionally winter doesn’t set in till January/February. And only if the jet stream changes position and brings in cold air from the Arctic/Siberia. Don’t worry there is still time and you may be in for a heluva sleigh ride. So get your thermal undies ready.

  6. All the best wishes for the New Year! I don’t dare calling it “happy”, instead hope you will find all the happiness you can in your private space and be vindicated in your public work by opening enough eyes to the ugly truth.
