Bank of England: Lower Interest Rates Means Higher Birthrates for Homeowners

Research by the UK’s central bank on how monetary policy impacts household decisions has found a link between interest rates and fertility, with homeowners on tracker mortgages much more likely to have children when rates fall.

There were an additional 14,500 children born in Britain in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, the research has found, in a development which bucked the trend of other crash-hit countries where fertility fell in line with rising unemployment.

Boeing Fires CEO Dennis Muilenburg Over 737 MAX Crisis and Just Days After Starliner Spacecraft Mission Was Aborted — as Shares in Company Rise 3% in Early Trading

Boeing has fired its CEO Dennis Muilenburg following a year of intense scrutiny and industrial setbacks set off by twin fatal crashes of its 737 MAX jetliner.

Chairman David Calhoun will serve as CEO and president, effective January 13, the company said Monday.

The decision was announced just a day after the return of the aborted Starliner flight that threatened to derail the company’s effort to launch astronauts for NASA next year.

Minutes after the Starliner took off from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on Friday, a software glitch caused the spacecraft to launch into the wrong orbit, prompting officials to route it back to Earth instead of continuing on to the International Space Station.

California Veteran Shoots Robbery Suspect Who Pistol-Whipped Him at Market

A U.S. Air Force veteran working as a clerk in a northern California market shot and killed a robbery suspect Sunday after the perp clocked him in the head with his gun, according to reports.

Surveillance video captured the moment two armed, masked robbery suspects stormed Kam’s Market in Bay Point, Calif., located in the San Francisco Bay area around 11 p.m. The footage shows one suspect approach Mark Kasbrowicz behind the register and hit him in the head with his gun, knocking him to the ground. As the suspect loaded cash into his bag, Kasbrowicz managed to get up and grab the store’s gun out of a drawer.

CNN is Not a News Network

When ThinkProgress announced that it was going out of business, a few observers wondered aloud, “Why didn’t anybody buy it?” But why would they have, when we have CNN?

As a child, I was aware of CNN in part because its introductory bumper featured the sinister voice of Darth Vader, and in part because it was both the prototype and the stereotype of the 24-hour news channel. CNN showed up in movies, either as itself or in parodies that imitated its role. It was on in the airports and the hospitals and the hotel lobbies, and in the waiting room at the dentist’s office. When something bad or exciting was happening, you would tell your friends, “Turn on CNN.”

CNN was careful and self-consciously nonpartisan — or, at least, it was keen for viewers to believe that it was. Its slogans were “This is CNN” — well, yes — and “The most trusted name in news,” and it cultivated its position within the firmament in much the same way as does Wikipedia today. It could be sensationalist and intrusive at times, but it was sensationalist and intrusive in the way that the paparazzo is rather than in the way that protesters who bang drums in your face and insist that you give up gasoline are. In short, it was what it said it was: a news network.

It is no longer that. These days, CNN is a peculiar and unlovely hybrid of progressive propaganda outlet, oleaginous media apologist, sexless cultural scold, and frenzied Donald Trump stalkerblog. When news breaks, it is no longer useful or appropriate to tell someone, “Turn on CNN,” because if he did, he would be as likely to be presented with a wall of advocacy and obsession as with the headlines of the hour. Today, CNN does not broadcast the news; it broadcasts what it wants you to think the news is.

Court Documents Suggest Dems Want to Impeach Trump a Second Time

They STILL want to use ‘Russian Collusion’ despite zero evidence

According to reports Monday, court documents show that Democrats are seeking to impeach President Trump a second time, and still want to use ‘Russian collusion’ allegations, even thought the Mueller investigation found zero evidence of its existence.

The House Judiciary Committee is said to have told the the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit that it will continue to push for former White House counsel Don McGahn to testify in a move that could lead to the introduction of “additional articles of impeachment.”

Invisible Ink Tattoos Could be Used by the Elites to Identify Unvaccinated Kids

Because it’s becoming difficult for the ruling class and Big Pharma to keep track of people who have been vaccinated and those who have not, a suggestion to use “tattoos” has surfaced. A new technology created by researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology can now help authoritarians track the unvaccinated.

According to Futurism, this means that they have found a covert way to embed the record of a vaccination directly in a patient’s skin rather than documenting it electronically or on paper. This tracking seems to be a lower-risk tracking system than vaccines themselves at least, and it could greatly simplify the process of maintaining accurate vaccine records, especially on a larger scale.

“In areas where paper vaccination cards are often lost or do not exist at all, and electronic databases are unheard of, this technology could enable the rapid and anonymous detection of patient vaccination history to ensure that every child is vaccinated,” researcher Kevin McHugh said in a statement.

If that’s what it’s used for, it will eventually also be used to force vaccines on those who wish to not receive them. There’s an obvious agenda here too when you follow the money: the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation funded the team’s research.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’s Flaws Are Fundamental

JJ Abrams directs and Kathleen Kennedy guides as Disney funds this mashup of mysticism and mainstreamed “social justice” pap.

Abrams directs and Kennedy guides as Disney funds this mashup of mysticism and mainstreamed “social justice” pap. The problem’s not that Rey (Daisy Ridley) is a female protagonist with superpowers. The problem’s not even that the character is badly conceived, written and played, though, unfortunately, she is awful in every sense. The film’s flaw is fundamental; it exists to repeat an experience, not to dramatize a story, let alone a good story, let alone make the audience feel good and entertained, let alone provoke thought.

Diehards invested in 42 years of merchandising, including toys, discs and related memories, may be inclined to reject this view. I suspect, however, that they’ll be as fatigued as the boy who sat behind me. He started before the opening credits as a happy child and ended up drifting away in his father’s lap, bored, confused and, as far as I could tell, desperate to go home.

Rise of Skywalker blabs, flaps and flops…

The Disney/Lucasfilm/Kathleen Kennedy left’s religion of irrationalism, i.e., feminism, multiculturalism, etc., trumps all with appallingly condescending plot points. Female minimizes male. Blacks pair with (and are saved by) blacks. Gays are gay only for an instant and only if they’re … female, of course. Females are omnipotent. Males are not; men are dolts. Humor almost always comes at the male’s expense.

He then saw several men in dark clothing — possibly one armed — force their way inside, the sheriff said at a news conference.

That resident ran to hide, while his roommate, armed with a shotgun, exchanged gunfire with the suspects, Gonzalez said.

This is America: 10 Examples That Show How Dramatically the U.S. Has Changed

One thing that you can count on in life is that things are going to change. And these days the pace of change in America is absolutely breathtaking. Our culture is in the process of being radically transformed, and the direction of that change has not altered very much at all no matter which political party has been in power in Washington. Many of the values that are now embraced by a solid majority of the population run directly counter to the values that once dominated our society, but only a small minority of Americans seem alarmed by that fact. It appears to be exceedingly unlikely that there will be any deviating from the path that our nation has chosen, because at this point the American people seem quite satisfied with the dramatic “progress” that is taking place.

So what do you think?

Are we on the right track as a nation?

As you ponder that question, here are 10 examples for you to consider that show how dramatically the U.S. has changed as we approach 2020…

#1 The ACLU has started a campaign to make tampons available in all men’s restrooms across America…

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is calling for men’s restrooms to include tampons in order to prevent discrimination against “every person who menstruates.”

“While free menstrual products are not uniformly provided in women’s restrooms, they are almost never available in men’s restrooms, even for pay,” the group said in a statement Tuesday.

#2 Senseless violence is on the rise all over the country. On Sunday, we witnessed the worst mass shooting in the city of Chicago “since at least 2013”…

Chicago police are questioning a person of interest after 13 people were wounded, four of them critically, during a shooting inside a memorial gathering early Sunday in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side, authorities said.

More people were wounded in the shooting than at any other in the city since at least 2013, when 13 people were shot in Back of the Yards, according to data gathered by the Tribune.

#3 It has been another banner year for homicides in the Baltimore area, and 7 more people were shot outside of a hookah lounge very early on Sunday morning…

Whooping Cough Outbreak at Texas School With 100% Vaccination Rate

Whooping cough, or pertussis, is a very contagious disease that spreads through coughing or sneezing. It can take up to three weeks for symptoms to appear. Late-stage symptoms may include rapid coughing followed by a high-pitched “whoop” sound, vomiting and exhaustion.

Officials with the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston said that 100 percent of students who attend St. Theresa Catholic School are vaccinated against the illness. That said, those who have received the whooping cough vaccine can sometimes still contract the disease if they are exposed. If this occurs, the symptoms are typically milder, however.

Blackface Trudeau Wants ‘Significant Penalties’ For Social Media ‘Hate Speech’

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, recently made infamous over resurfaced blackface photos, has instructed his ministers to create new legislation aimed at tackling “hate speech” on social media.

The mandate letter, sent to Canada’s Minister of Heritage, calls for legislation to be drawn up imposing “significant penalties” on social media companies that do not remove so-called hate speech within 24 hours.

The letter singles out “hate speech” for special attention, before moving on to other items like child exploitation and terrorism.

Create new regulations for social media platforms, starting with a requirement that all platforms remove illegal content, including hate speech, within 24 hours or face significant penalties. This should include other online harms such as radicalization, incitement to violence, exploitation of children, or creation or distribution of terrorist propaganda.

In another letter, sent to the Minister of Justice, instructs the Minister to work with his colleagues to combat “online hate:”

Work with the Minister of Diversity and Inclusion and Youth and the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness to combat online hate and harassment.

Sweden: The Wages of Self-Loathing is Civil War

The Danes have put extra resources into controlling the country’s links to Sweden because of bombs going off in Denmark due to people coming from Sweden. The people from Sweden are Islamist criminals. The Swedish government reacted to the Danish move by calling the Danes Nazis. Swedish society has changed for the worse, and the Swedish people are aware of what they have lost.

All this is known, but what is interesting is that a former head of the Swedish truck-maker Scania, a Mr. Leif Ostling, has said Sweden is headed for civil war because of the problem of its violent migrants who have no inclination to integrate into Swedish society. As a successful businessman, his views can’t be dismissed as being from some sort of antisocial loon living in his mother’s basement…

A sign of the shift in public opinion is the fact that the leader of the Moderate Party, with 70 out of the 349 seats in the Swedish parliament, has apologized on Facebook to all those who had criticized the country’s immigration policies over the years. The shifting winds of public opinion will encourage a crackdown on the Islamist enclaves, which in turn enrages the Islamists, and they are likely to respond with more attacks on the police and other public institutions.

How we get to civil war is that the government reaction to the escalating violence is likely to lag too far behind events and public opinion. And then an officer in the armed forces will have his wife or daughter killed and lead his unit in taking over the parliament building. Nobody in the police force will stop him, because the police have been taking the brunt of the Islamist violence for decades.

The next phase will be the reaction of the lefties running Germany, France, and the European Union. The yellow vests have been protesting in France for over a year now. Early on, they were surprised to see European Union decals on French armored personnel carriers. It seems that Macron and Merkel have conspired to create a French-German force to put down insurrections in Europe. To get to Sweden, this force would have to pass through Denmark, and the Danes are likely to stop them. If that fails, any armored column is unlikely to get across the Oresund Bridge that connects Denmark and Malmö in Sweden. The Swedes make good antitank weapons.

UK: Murderers Are Among 1,000 Violent Criminals to be Let Out of Prison So They Can Spend Six-Day Festive Break With Their Loved Ones This Year

More than 1,000 killers, sex offenders, violent criminals and drug dealers are expected to be let out of jail to celebrate Christmas with their families.

Around 1,100 were sent home mid-sentence for a festive break in 2018, with a similar number likely to walk free this year.

Convicts will have mini-breaks of up to six days with their loved ones over the holiday season before returning to prison to finish their sentences.

But the move has angered justice campaigners, who say it is a kick in the teeth for victims and their relatives if those who commit some of the most serious crimes — including murder and rape — are freed.

Under the ‘release on temporary licence’ (ROTL) scheme, convicts are let out of open prison unsupervised as part of their rehabilitation.

The programme is designed to prepare them for an eventual return to normal life.

But David Spencer, research director at the Centre For Crime Prevention think-tank, said: ‘Without wanting to seem like a Scrooge, it is quite troubling that in excess of 1,000 inmates, many of whom are serving time for serious offences, will be allowed back into our communities over Christmas.

‘While there is a case for some inmates to be rewarded in such a way, these numbers seem excessive and would appear to pose a significant risk to public safety.’

  1. I apologize for the length of this comment; this is something I have given much thought to regarding what the actions in Virgina and the sanctuary movement will ultimately mean for our nation.

The shift in the apportionment of Congressional power to larger liberal enclaves along with the explosion in future socialism supporters due to chain migration and anchor baby policies will, in my opinion, lead to an eventual breakup of the country.

What has taken place recently in Virginia with regards to threatened firearm laws and the organic response by rural populations to the threatened legislation is the template for what will play out across the United States over the next decade or so as voting power and political power becomes increasingly and unassailably consolidated in the cities and a few large states. I believe at some point rural populations which make up most of the land area in the country, will refuse to abide by laws passed by the majority who dwell in cities. The reason I believe this is likely is due to the fact that so far the authorities have shown little inclination to decisively assert authority in cases where their laws are ignored or openly opposed. This can be seen with the Federal response to marijuana legalization by the states in open defiance of Federal laws, the creation of sanctuary cities and lack of state support in enforcing Federal immigration laws, and in what is a natural extension of this, 2nd Ammendment sanctuary counties and cities in opposition to state laws and threats from elected officials. The response of the Virginia government in following through on their threat to pass anti-Second Ammendment legislation and their response to open defiance by most of the counties in the state will determine how this movement of defiance to hated laws imposed by urban majorities on rural minorities will play out.

I don’t see any real way to walk these movements back, since the only way to truly counter these sanctuary movements is through enforcing the laws or repealing them. Repeal of unpopular legislation is unlikely since it exposes weakness of governments to vocal minorities, and they are acting anyway on behalf of urban majorities that put them there. The only other likely option is enforcement which ultimately will require the use of violent compulsion by the authorities. These sanctuary movements have exposed this as the Achilles heel of elected governments in the feminized modern era in which we live. No elected official is going to assume the responsibility for taking such a decisive step of actually authorizing the violent measures needed to crush such defiance. By doing so, they would open themselves to the end of their political careers, likely legal action, lawsuits, and possible jail time. And this is where the country ultimately falls apart. When the rural minorities realize the central governments are unwilling to enforce their own laws if it means violence must be authorized and used, then there will be more open defiance to all kinds of unpopular laws and regulations. It is only a matter of time before some county official or state governor will refuse to send in tax money or collect it for a hated and arrogant government in far away Washington DC passing diktats on behalf of city dwellers, coastal liberals, and immivaders illegally voting as they pop out kid after kid while they milk the public teat for all it’s worth. The willingness by elected officials or lack therof to use violence to compel rebellious states and counties to comply with unpopular legislation inflicted by majorities on the minority will determine how much longer an already very divided America will continue as one nation.

    • You know your Heinlein better than most; I think it was in “Friday” (one of the few I don’t have) that he predicted the breakup of the US. I hope he was wrong, as I daresay you do.

    • “The shift in the apportionment of Congressional power to larger liberal enclaves along with the explosion in future socialism supporters due to chain migration and anchor baby policies will, in my opinion, lead to an eventual breakup of the country.”

You might be very correct in this observation, MIHM. But I assume there will be dissent first, and armed one at that (consistently with your predictions as well); this may lead to a breakup but to a catharsis of sorts as well, which may avoid the breakup. Also, it will take probably decades of slow-motion progression of events.

Short term we are still OK – especially if Trump gets re-elected.
