“You Backing the Russians, Boy?” — Illinois Man Charged With Threatening to Murder GOP Congressman

It would appear all the escalating rhetoric from a month of impeachment hearings — including one Democratic congressman asking fellow lawmakers to imagine the teenage daughter of Ukraine’s president tied up in Trump’s basement — have sparked more than just verbal assaults on Republicans (just as Maxine Waters would had suggested previously).

The Hill reports that a man in Illinois has been charged after allegedly threatening to shoot Rep. Rodney Davis (R-Ill.) and accusing the congressman of “backing the Russians.”

64-year-old Randall Tarr of Rochester, Ill. was charged with communicating threats to injure a person and threatening to assault, kidnap or murder a federal official, according to court documents released this week (full release below).

Contacted at his home Thursday, Tarr said he saw a television ad in which Davis, a Republican from Taylorville, claimed that Ukraine, not Russia, was responsible for meddling in the 2016 U.S. elections, and it angered him enough to call.

Prosecutors say Tarr called Davis’s district office last month and left a profanity-filled voicemail, saying:

“I just saw you … on the TV. You backing the Russians, boy?”

“Stupid son of a bitch, you’re gonna go against our military and back the Russians?” he allegedly added.

“I’m a sharpshooter. … I’d like to shoot your f***ing head off you stupid motherf ***er.”

A 13-Year-Old Has Been Arrested in the Fatal Stabbing of a Barnard Student, Source Says

The 13-year-old suspect in a crime that’s shocked a close-knit college community is not all that much younger than the teenage victim.

The boy was arrested in New York in connection with the death of 18-year-old Barnard College freshman Tessa Rane Majors, according to a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation.

He was found with a knife and admitted being involved in the attempted robbery and stabbing, the source said Friday. The teen also mentioned two other possible suspects, and police were investigating that lead, the source said…

Majors, 18, had been walking Wednesday evening through Morningside Park at 116th Street and Morningside Drive, just blocks from Barnard’s campus, when police believe she was confronted by between one and three assailants, said New York Police Department Chief of Patrol Services Rodney Harrison.

A witness who spoke with the NYPD said Majors was confronted by four or five males in the park, according to a law enforcement official familiar with the investigation.

After the attack, she stumbled up a flight of stairs to street level before collapsing at a security booth near campus, the official said. A school security officer called 911.

Bernie Rescinds Endorsement of Dem Candidate After “Legalize Bestiality” Video Resurfaces

Popular progressive political commentator Cenk Uygur is running for Democratic California Rep. Katie Hill’s seat, who resigned amid scandal in October after allegations she slept with a congressional staffer and a campaign staffer, and nude photographs of her surfaced.

But “The Young Turks” star founder is already finding himself at the center of bizarre controversy involving past statements he made over bestiality during a live program, causing Sen. Bernie Sanders to retract his highly sought after endorsement a mere day after announcing it.

In a Young Turks segment from 2013, he talks about how “hot” women from the Dominican are in somewhat typical remarks of his over the years that fellow progressives have lambasted him as sexist for. But then the segment took an insane turn. “Here comes the controversial part I shouldn’t say,” Uygur said, according to the resurfaced video. “I believe that if I were the benevolent dictator of the world, I would legalize bestiality where you are giving, you are pleasuring the animal.”

Drudge Report Has Lost 28% of Its Traffic in Last Four Months Alone as it Continues to Push Corrupt Anti-Trump News

On November 10th we reported that since 2017 Matt Drudge and The Drudge Report has gone from staunch Trump supporter to Never-Trump. It’s obvious to everyone. Matt Drudge is pushing for President Trump to be removed from office in a Democrat coup. This makes no sense.

Drudge was once well respected and it was an honor to have a link to the Drudge Report. Now the links only go to far-left anti-Trump corrupt publications. Jesse Watters aired a segment on The Drudge Report’s turn from pro-Trump to Trump-hater. His guest Howard Kurtz did not add anything to the conversation. His responses did not even make sense.

Howard Kurtz is a joke. He has no idea how Donald Trump won the Presidency. He considers the mainstream media neutral in their reporting. This is frankly insane coming from anyone who studies the media.

The media in the age of Trump is not just ‘fake news’, it is corrupt, as rightly argued by the President.

Former CIA Operations Officer: DOJ IG’s FISA Abuse Report Provides Concrete Evidence That Russia Hoax Was a “Deliberate Covert Attempt to Overthrow the Democratic Process”

A former CIA Operations Officer claims the FISA Abuse report provides ample evidence that the Russia Hoax was a covert operation planned and executed by Obama’s Deep State. Charles S. (Sam) Faddis, Senior Partner — Artemis, LLC is a former CIA operations officer with thirty years of experience in the conduct of intelligence operations. He claims the recently released FISA Abuse report clearly shows that the Russia Hoax was a planned and executed covert operation.

Faddis says —

The essence of a coup, which some might refer to as covert action, is the hidden hand. One does not announce that a foreign power is overthrowing the government and installing a new government. One pulls strings as if from behind a curtain, making events that are all part of a carefully orchestrated plan appear disconnected, spontaneous and serendipitous.

As I read through the recently released IG report for the second time, as someone with a great deal of experience in military and intelligence matters, I see that hand everywhere.

Getting Drivers for Old Hardware is Harder Than Ever

At least one major provider of hardware-level BIOS drivers is actively deleting old stuff it no longer supports, while old FTP sites where vintage drivers are often found are soon going to be harder to reach.

You’ve never lived until you’ve had to download a driver from an archived forum post on the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine.

You have no idea if it’s going to work, but it’s your only option. So you bite the bullet. I recently did this with a PCI-based SATA card I was attempting to flash to support a PowerPC-based Mac, and while it was a bit of a leap of faith, it actually ended up working. Score one for chance.

Profs: College Republicans Have ‘White Supremacist’ Views, Supporting Trump’s Re-Election a ‘Racist Provocation’

The California State University-Chico State Faculty Association (CFA) released a statement Wednesday assuring the student body that it is aware of what it characterized as the harm caused by the Republican group on campus, calling President Donald Trump a “symbol of insult, derision, and ridicule of specific groups within our society.”

The Chico State Student Government released a resolution in response to CFA. It urged the administration to take disciplinary action against students who break student conduct rules: “We take this stance because students of color have expressed that they are experiencing an increasingly hostile racial climate, both on and off-campus, since President Trump took office. It is unjust for students of color to experience overt and/or covert forms of racism ideologically, systemically, and/or in practice.”

San Fran Loses Another Convention Over Skyrocketing Costs, Human Excrement

San Francisco has lost another major convention thanks to “poor street conditions” (aka poo and the vagrants who produce it), along with prohibitively high costs.

The Oracle OpenWorld conference — which typically hosts 60,000 people, will no longer be held in San Francisco according to a Monday email from the San Francisco Travel Association obtained by CNBC.

“Oracle stated that their attendee feedback was that San Francisco hotel rates are too high,” reads the email in part. “Poor street conditions was another reason why they made this difficult decision.”

Saudi College Student Arrested on Gun Charge in New Mexico

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — A Saudi Arabian student at the University of New Mexico was arrested Friday by federal authorities on accusations of illegal possession of a firearm as a student visa holder after a search of his Albuquerque residence turned up a handgun, according to federal court documents.

Hassan Alqahtani, an engineering student, appeared before a federal judge Friday and remained in federal custody afterward. The FBI says it received a tip in August at its National Threat Operations Center that Alqahtani had a firearm and was creating a list of people he wanted to kill that included professors at his university.

Semester of Violence: Physical Attacks on Conservative College Students Keep Piling Up

It’s not safe to be openly conservative on campus

It was also no outlier.

Throughout this fall semester, conservative activists at campuses across the nation have continued to be physically attacked — and had their displays destroyed — by aggressive student peers inflamed by right-of-center messaging.

The Mac “Pro”

Yesterday saw the release of the new Mac Pro, finally replacing the trash can and moving back to a tower-based design. It has had a somewhat mixed response, with many people taking issue with the high prices, ranging from $6000 to over $52000. There have been those seeking to defend the prices and write off the complaints, but I don’t believe these arguments take into account the larger picture…

The base spec of the Mac Pro is a 3.5GHz 8-core Intel Xeon W-3223, 32GB of DDR4 2666MHz ECC RAM, a 256GB SSD, an AMD Radeon 580X, and a 1400W power supply. Now this is not a bad spec, but then we come to the price: $5999. With no knowledge of the cost of components and no comparison to other machines, it’s easy write it off and say things like “pro hardware is always expensive”. But when you do look into things you start to appreciate how the Mac Pro is one of the most overpriced Macs Apple has ever released.

Let’s look at what the components actually cost. The table below shows costings for the parts, or equivalent versions, that make up the Mac Pro. Part Retail Price Xeon W-3223 $749 4x8GB DDR4 2666MHz ECC RAM ~$240 Radeon 580X ~$300 256GB NVMe SSD ~$100 1500W Power Supply ~$350 Total: ~$1,739

With a total of $1739 that leaves us with over $4200 left to account for, and that’s using retail prices, not the prices that Apple will get those parts for…

All in all, the Mac Pro is a powerful machine. For certain workflows it is even worth the cost. But the problem is that Apple has priced out a huge swathe of the professional market by making its lower end Mac Pros prohibitively expensive for what is frankly underwhelming hardware.

The Silicon Valley Gulag

Authored by Jason Morgan via The Mises Institute

[Review of Michael Rectenwald, Google Archipelago: The Digital Gulag and the Simulation of Freedom (Nashville, TN, and London: New English Review Press, 2019).]

The near-homogeneity of Silicon Valley political beliefs has gone from wry punchline to national crisis in the United States. The monoculture of virtue signaling and high— and heavy-handed woke corporate leftism at places like Google, Twitter, and Facebook was once a source of chagrin for those who found themselves shut out of various internet sites for deviating from the orthodoxies of the Palo Alto elites. After the 2016 presidential election, however, it became obvious that the digitalistas were doing a lot more than just making examples of a few handpicked “extremists.”

From the shadow banning of non-leftist sites and views to full-complement political propagandizing, Bay Area leftists have been so aggressive in bending the national psyche to their will that there is talk in the papers and on the cable “news” channels of “existential threats to our democracy.”…

Google Archipelago is divided into eight chapters and is rooted in both Rectenwald’s encyclopedic knowledge of the history of science and corporate control of culture, as well as in his own experiences. Before retiring, Rectenwald had been a professor at New York University, where he was thoroughly entrenched in the PC episteme that squelches real thought at universities across North America and beyond. Gradually, Rectenwald began to realize that PC was not a philosophy, but the enemy of open inquiry. For this reason, and because Rectenwald is an expert in the so-called digital humanities and the long history of scientific (and pseudo-scientific) thinking that feeds into it, Google Archipelago is not just a dry monograph about a social issue. By turns memoir, Kafkaesque dream sequence, trenchant rebuke of leftist censorship, and intellectual history of woke corporate political correctness, Google Archipelago is a welcoming window into a mind working happily in overdrive.

There is much in Google Archipelago addressing the lie that Google, Facebook, and Twitter are neutral platforms for free-ranging debate. This is not so much, because, statistically and empirically, it is irrefutable that Silicon Valley is hostile to non-Beltway-leftist opinions, but because, much more damningly, their woke-capital corporate structures are themselves iterations of massification, propaganda, and deep social control. For Rectenwald, the “Google archipelago” is not PC version 2.0; it is Marxism, version 1,000 (and raised by several orders of magnitude to boot).

The Snapdragon 865 Will Make Phones Worse in 2020, Thanks to Mandatory 5G

“2019’s Snapdragon 855 offers 4G connectivity in a single, simple package. 2020’s Snapdragon 865 has no onboard modem, and it needs an extra chip.”“

Qualcomm is so obsessed with 5G, it’s hurting 4G performance to spur adoption.

Qualcomm recently took the wraps off its flagship SoC for 2020, the Snapdragon 865. As usual, we can expect this chip in all the high-end Android smartphones in 2020, and it’s 25 percent faster than last year, with fancy new camera features and AI-accelerating co-processors. What’s unusual is the way Qualcomm designed the LTE modem in the Snapdragon 865: it doesn’t have one.

This means nearly every flagship Android phone will be a 5G phone in 2020, and putting the 5G and 4G on a giant extra chip means smartphones are going to use way more power, no matter which cell network you’re connected to. When 5G networks are only going to be in their infancy in 2020, this sounds like an across-the-board downgrade to me.

In 2019, 4G had a big power and size advantage over 5G thanks to the all-in-one SoC with an integrated modem solution. In 2020, Qualcomm is so desperate to make 5G a thing that it’s making 4G worse.

Tucker Carlson: IG Report is a Big, Big Problem for CNN, Others — They Are Exposed as Liars and Know-Nothings

Thanks to the Department of Justice IG report — the one released on Monday — we now know for certain what was, for those paying attention, fairly obvious for a long time — in fact, from the beginning. We now know the Steele dossier played a central role in the genesis of the beginning of the Russia hoax.

The dossier was used to justify extensive spying on an innocent American citizen; that would be former naval officer and Annapolis graduate, Carter Page. The top two leaders at the FBI were closely involved in the decision to do this. Other powerful people, including a former director of the CIA, knew it was happening and then lied to cover it up later. All of that was confirmed Monday by the IG’s report.

The report was a disaster for the credibility of our bureaucratic class in Washington. But it’s also a big, big problem for the American news media. They were exposed as liars and know-nothings as well.

We could you a million examples of this, but we’re going to give you just a few because they paint the picture.

What is the Secret of Hillary Clinton’s Strangely Plumped-Up-Cheeks?

Aesthetic expert Dr Ross Perry, founder of www.cosmedics.co.uk, said Hillary has been ‘genetically blessed’ with good skin — but claimed it could also be a result of Botox, injectable dermal fillers and Blepharoplasty.

He told FEMAIL: ‘Hilary Clinton looks fantastic and I would suggest this is down to regular tweakments and procedures over the years, which appears less noticeable than having dramatic work done all in one go.

‘Her forehead looks particularly smooth, which would suggest Botox has been administered in the forehead, frown line and around the eye area, as there appears to be minimal crows feet.

‘For someone of 72, I’d expect to see a more furrowed brow with extensive creasing and lines around the eyes.’

Dr Perry added that he suspects Hillary may have had Blepharoplasty, a procedure in which excess skin above the eye is removed.

[Comment: Fawning article. Actually after this plastic surgery Hillary is starting to resemble “Chucky” — the possessed doll from a series of B horror movies.]

Corbyn’s Bloodbath Defeat in UK Election Sends ‘Catastrophic Warning’ To 2020 Dems

Left-wing Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn saw his party mauled in Britain’s general election Thursday as its strongholds across the country fell to Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Conservative Party — a dramatic result that commentators on both sides of the pond are seeing as a warning to socialist-leaning Democrats ahead of the U.S. presidential election.

And for those who have openly cautioned about the party’s drift to the left, the U.K. results were treated as nothing short of a wake-up call. A sign, for some, that even a populist incumbent as irreverent and contentious as Johnson could ride to victory when the alternative is an equally controversial leftist vowing massive government expansion.

The parallels were not hard to draw…

Johnson’s Tories won 365 seats in Parliament’s lower chamber, with Labour picking up just 203. It hands the Conservatives their biggest majority since the days of Margaret Thatcher and marks the worst showing for Labour since the 1930s. The left-wing party was left shell-shocked after a night that saw once-safe seats in working-class areas turn Tory, with enormous swings that would have been unthinkable just a few years ago.

But while many of the seats that fell represent pro-Leave areas, polls suggested that it was Corbyn — and his extreme brand of left-wing politics — that was a more significant factor for Brits. Corbyn had taken over the party leadership in 2015 and dragged it to the left in a rejection of the kind of centrism embodied by three-term Prime Minister Tony Blair.

[Comment: A repudiation of Labour’s drive to embrace communism.]

Sweden: Confronting Reality

Back in February and March 2017 BBC News ran a number of articles about Trump’s much vilified remarks about Sweden, including one with the headline, “Trump’s wrong, it’s ‘quiet and safe’ in Malmo.” One article in particular, “All eyes on Malmo but not because of Trump” painted an idyllic picture of the lives of expats in Malmö. It spoke, among others, about a young American woman working in Malmö, Susanna Lewis, in the following way:

“As a woman, she is also used to being prepared and watchful as she walks alone in other places, yet she does not feel afraid in Malmö city centre or its outer suburbs”.

The article went on to quote her: “I never have had that fear in Sweden. This is the safest place I’ve ever lived.”

Now, however, even the BBC appears to have discovered that Sweden suffers from serious problems. In November, the BBC published an article headlined, “Sweden’s 100 explosions this year: What’s going on?”

UK: Why the ‘Left’ is Dead in the Water (Revisited)

December 13, 2019
by Gilad Atzmon

Introduction: Following his party’s catastrophic defeat, humiliated Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn announced this morning that he would discuss with the party its need for a ‘process of reflection’ and promised that he himself “will lead the party during this period to ensure this discussion takes place.”

I will not hold my breath waiting for Labour to overcome its most acute problems. As a first step toward a recovery I would advise Corbyn and his caricature party that instead of suspending and expelling party members for reading yours truly, instead of expelling MPs for supporting my right to make a living as musician, or spending hundreds of thousands of taxpayers money trying to appease a foreign ardent right wing Lobby., the Labour partly/hardly should instead make my work compulsory reading for its members and leadership.

In this commentary from February 2019 I explain why the Left is dead in the water and why Corbyn’s Labour is a symptom of the total disaster that is the contemporary Left.

New WikiLeaks Bombshell: 20 Inspectors Dissent From Syria Chemical Attack Narrative

Late Saturday WikiLeaks released more documents which contradict the US narrative on Assad’s use of chemical weapons, specifically related to the April 7, 2018 Douma incident, which resulted in a major US and allied tomahawk missile and air strike campaign on dozens of targets in Damascus.

The leaked documents, including internal emails of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) — which investigated the Douma site — reveal mass dissent within the UN-authorized chemical weapons watchdog organization’s ranks over conclusions previously reached by the international body which pointed to Syrian government culpability. It’s part of a growing avalanche of dissent memos and documents casting the West’s push for war in Syria in doubt (which had resulted in two major US and allied attacks on Syria).

This newly released batch, WikiLeaks reports, includes a memo stating 20 inspectors feel that the officially released version of the OPCW’s report on Douma “did not reflect the views of the team members that deployed to [Syria]”. This comes amid widespread allegations US officials brought immense pressure to bear on the organization.

The four-day trip to the Chinese capital is Lam’s first since voters handed her government a crushing defeat in local elections last month, Reuters reported. Some observers are speculating that she will be forced to change some members of her leadership team.

Bosnian Authorities Clear Massive Illegal Migrant Camp

Bosnian authorities on Wednesday cleared a massive improvised migrant camp that’s been called the “jungle” for its nasty conditions after hundreds of people living at the camp were transferred to better facilities near the capital of Sarajevo.

The Vucjak camp, which was first set up by authorities last summer near the city of Bihac — not far from the Croatian border — had no running water, heating, or proper bathroom facilities. Mainly Middle Eastern, North African, and Asian migrant men lived in the camp, France24 reports.

Academics Chide Article on Quantum Computing for Using Term ‘Supremacy’: It’s ‘For Racists’

The ultimate in “woke” just may have waited until the very end of the year to reveal itself.

A cadre of academics is not happy about the journal Nature using the term “supremacy” in an article about quantum computing.

Titled “Quantum supremacy using a programmable superconducting processor,” the October piece deals with, well, just what it says: the superiority of computers using quantum processors versus so-called “classical” ones.

But 16 scholars say “supremacy” is for … racists. They want the phrase “quantum advantage” to be used in its place.

California Schools Sued Over Use of “Culturally-Biased” Standardized Testing for Admissions

America was once a nation of meritocracy, that shamed the lazy and encouraged hard work; but now, as Millennials increasingly support a “we are all equal” socialist state with leftist politicians villifying the successful, a new wave of anti-meritocratic policies are sweeping across much of academia.

The latest incarnation of this is a much-anticipated lawsuit, filed by a group of students and community organizations, against the University of California, alleging that the university system discriminates against low-income students, racial minorities and others by requiring SAT or ACT admissions tests.

The Wall Street Journal reports that the suit was filed Tuesday in California state court on behalf of a high-school sophomore, two seniors, and a first-year student at Pasadena City College (several California social-justice nonprofits are also plaintiffs in the suit), all of whom it says would be strong candidates for more selective UC campuses except for their test scores.

New York Public School Rejects Student Christian Club, OKs LGBT Pride Club

A New York school district violated federal law when it rejected a Christian student’s request to start an on-campus Christian club, according to a nonprofit legal group representing the student.

The First Liberty Institute sent a letter to Wappingers Central School District on Wednesday demanding that it approve freshman Daniela Barca’s application to form the “OMG! Christian Club” at Roy C. Ketcham High School.

The aim of the club, according to First Liberty Institute, is to offer “faith-based support” during biweekly student-initiated meetings where students have “discussions about living for God in a godless society.”

Not Woke Enough: Swedish Church Removes Gay Painting, Not Pro-Trans

The St. Pauli church in Malmö has removed a controversial LGBT painting from its altar in case viewers see the transgender individuals as being associated with evil.

While many have criticised the LGBT painting in the church, according to pastor Per Svensson, the painting will be moved to another area not because of conservative backlash but because of its portrayal of transgender individuals, SVT reports.

  1. Raceism is quite clearly against the White people in the United Kingdom-all media and advertising has moved in this direction over past 5 years. It is the result of the European Union’s development of multiculturalism. To imagine that differing cultures, religions, ideologies, can co-exist with Multiculturalism is utterly incomprehensible. The propaganda of multiculturalism has been gradually spreading across all European countries for the last twenty years at least ….situation that, has to be faced however, the powers that rule the media are developing a rule whereby a coloured person whether Asian, African or of the Indian Subcontinent, is placed into every television programme whether appropriate to the particular subject matter or not.

    • Actually, I do not understand your second sentence unless WITH means IN THE FORM OF.
Secondly, your comment about the retroactive BAMEisation of Western European history on TV is true.
And it goes along in UK and Sweden and NZ with extra-legal police interrogative visits to and apparently (Sweden so far) physical attacks on activists who question the immi-vasion.

But I repeat that multiculti is not incomprehensible. Not only does importing aggregate economic demand to low birthrate white countries make profitable “sense” via GDP growth, i.e. mortgagees and hence bank mortgage interest income , housing starts, retail sales: the resulting chaos of a growing BAME underclass and calls for the State to restore order benefit the same people with cash to invest who arranged for the immi-vasion. (IT surveillance, private police forces, private White Flight schools, gated communities, private hospitals as growth industries)

The Berlin police force is already heavily Middle Eastern in nature, and the entry level was recently lowered. Berlin is where the parliament is about to build itself a moat and fence and visitor access control via tunnel.

Don’t pay so much attention to what “humane and hopeful” “Left” politicians and the asylum seeker industry are saying, read instead what heads of auto companies, banks, construction companies, big retailers are saying. And look at the TV ads they pay for. Which takes us back to your point about the media.

  2. ….Please…. at least you can get your facts straight..!! Mr.Van Drew does NOT represent any congressional district in New York…..he represents a district in NEW JERSEY…! Even a brief look at some of the major web sites carrying this story would have noted that he is from New Jersey.. shoddy reporting, folks….

    • Sorry, my mistake — I took ZeroHedge’s word for it, when I should have checked. I’ve changed my intro, but I left the ZH text as-is.

    • Thank you; already fixed, per the other commenter.

From now on, I’ll take ZeroHedge with a grain of salt.

      • I note that once every 6 or so years, the Baron makes a minor mistake?

You do a GREAT job, all the time.

I wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and thank you for a wonderful service.

        • Thank you! The important thing is always to post corrections. If they’re significant, include a prominent public notification. Too many people just delete stuff when they screw up, but I don’t believe in that.

  3. That “palpable fear” will not guide them to seek refuge in safe islamic countries.

Harun Khan, Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain said:
“Mr Johnson commands a majority, but there is a palpable sense of fear amongst Muslim communities around the country.
We entered the election campaign period with long standing concerns about bigotry in our politics and our governing party.
Now we worry that Islamophobia is “oven-ready” for government.

I think Boris has pretty much sidelined the Baroness Warsi.

………Baroness Warsi, a former Tory co-chair and cabinet minister, said the party ‘must start healing its relationship with British Muslims’. In a tweet, she said: ‘Endorsements from #TommyRobinson & #KatieHopkins & colleagues retweeting both is deeply disturbing. Independent Inquiry into #Islamophobia is a must first step.
The battle to root out racism must now intensify’.
