Gates of Vienna News Feed 11/29/2019

Hungarian police discovered two tunnels that were being used by human smugglers to bring migrants across the border from Serbia. 44 migrants were detained, and a Serb suspected of human trafficking was arrested.

In other news, climate protesters disrupted Black Friday shoppers at shopping malls across the world. Although, strictly speaking, the demonstrations only occurred in the Western world.

Poland’s Unemployment Rate Flat at 3.2 Pct in October — Eurostat

Poland’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 3.2 percent in October 2019, unchanged from September 2019, Eurostat, the EU’s statistical office, reported on Friday.

According to Poland’s Central Statistical Office (GUS), the unemployment rate in the country fell to 5.0 percent in October 2019 from 5.1 percent a month earlier.

The discrepancy between GUS and Eurostat figures results from the use of different methodologies.

“Forget the KKK, Modern-Day Liberals Are the Biggest Impediment”: Clarence Thomas Reflects on Biden Experience

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas says that modern day liberals posed the biggest impediment to his career, as opposed to what he was taught to believe.

I felt as though in my life I had been looking at the wrong people as the people who would be problematic toward me. We were told that, ‘Oh, it’s gonna be the bigot in the pickup truck; it’s gonna be the Klansmen; it’s gonna be the rural sheriff,” Thomas says in a forthcoming documentary, “Created Equal: Clarence Thomas in His Own Words.”

“But it turned out that through all of that, ultimately the biggest impediment was the modern day liberal,” he added. “They were the ones who would discount all those things because they have one issue or because they have the power to caricature you,” according to ABC News.

Alarmists Propose Rebranding ‘Climate Change’ For Greater Shock Value

Climate change alarmists are pushing for a change in vocabulary to scare people into taking global warming more seriously, starting with terms like “global meltdown” and “climate collapse.”

Writing for AdAge this week, Aaron Hall argues that in order to get people to “take action” against climate change, “rebranding” is crucial, since people have gotten too used to the idea that climate is changing and need to be shocked into the notion that the world as we know it is ending.

Brown University Students Want to Abolish All Prisons Because They Are ‘Racist’

A group of Brown University students want to abolish all prisons “in the name of justice” because they are “racist” and “punishment at any stage doesn’t guarantee any kind of growth.”

“The end goal is to not have prisons as any form of incarceration,” student Grace Austin, a member of the group called RailRoad, said at a teach-in called “Prison Abolition 101” held early this month, according to The Brown Daily Herald.

The students did not respond to questions regarding whether they would be happy to have the rapists, murderers, thieves and child molesters come and live on their own streets instead of being housed safely behind bars.

Fired Navy Secretary Spencer Pens Outrageous Op-Ed Explaining How He Tried to Give C-in-C Trump Orders Regarding Navy Seal

We’ve seen some of the most unorthodox and outrageous behavior coming from current and former Trump administration people in regards to their treatment of the president, but an op-ed by fired Navy Secretary Richard Spencer in the Washington Post Thursday takes the cake.

The Washington Post. Of course.

In it, Spencer — who was terminated for going outside the chain of command in order to persecute a Navy SEAL who had himself been abused by the military justice system — actually admits that he tried to order President Trump to stay out of his business.

Florida Man Friday: Don’t Cry Over Spilled Meth

The Crazy Season starts for my family every year the week before Halloween. If Halloween — with two young boys, decorations, parties, costumes, etc — weren’t enough, as soon as we get all that stuff torn down, it’s time for my wife’s birthday. Her “birthday season” as we’ve come to call it includes a dinner out, a dinner at home, a dinner with her folks, and a dinner with her friends. While we’re still recuperating from that, it’s Thanksgiving… followed by Black Friday, more decorating, wrapping, three different parties, and Christmas itself. Christmas itself involves packing all the presents in the car, plus two days worth of luggage and three dogs, heading to the in-laws, and then packing everything back up 48 hours later and bringing it all back home. Then our oldest has his birthday on December 28, which means we have two days to get rid of all the Christmas and make the house ready for his b-day party. To top it off, just three days after that we throw a New Year’s party so massive that we have to hire a DJ and a couple bartenders. So you see why we call everything from late October to New Years Day the Crazy Season.

For Florida Man, the Crazy Season began in the most shrouded mists of ancient times, and ends on the fifth of never.

So make yourself a big plate of Thanksgiving leftovers, and gather ‘round the fire for another exciting…

Florida Man Friday!

‘Free Nick!’: Miami Climate Change Activist Arrested at Black Friday Mall Protest

Fresh off a climate change-related hunger strike, Miami activist Nicholas Vazquez was arrested Friday afternoon at the Dadeland Mall during a protest.

Nearly 40 protesters, mostly young people, swarmed the mall for a planned protest Friday morning for government action on climate change. They dropped a banner inside the mall that read “end consumerism before it ends us” and staged a “die-in,” where activists drop to the ground and symbolically “die” for a cause.

The teens were quickly chased to the sidewalk outside by mall security and Miami-Dade police officers, said 17-year-old Elijah Ruby. They continued their chants of “fossil fuels have got to go” and “the Earth is on fire,” before Vazquez, 22, walked into the middle of the intersection and sat down.

[Comment: These protestors need to get a life.]

Huffpost: Thanksgiving ‘National Day of Mourning’ For Native Americans

HuffPost has published a helpful Thanksgiving guide, “6 Things Every Non-Native Should Do On Thanksgiving,” after asking “Indigenous educators and activists to share what non-Natives need to know to be a good ally.”

One of the lessons non-Natives need to understand, HuffPost explains, is that Thanksgiving is a “National Day of Mourning” for Native Americans because of “the subsequent, nation-wide racial genocide that occurred between the settlers and the tribes whose territories they encroached on, and ongoing assaults on Native culture and religion.”

Mansour: Instead of ‘Canceling’ Thanksgiving, Celebrate it as Our Founding Myth

The Wokesters are hard at work rewriting our history one school kid at a time. Ann Coulter gave an excellent summary of the new interpretation of Thanksgiving: “As every contemporary school child knows, our Pilgrim forefathers took a break from slaughtering Indigenous Peoples to invite them to dinner and infect them with smallpox, before embarking on their mission to fry the planet.”

She’s not joking either. America’s teachers have “begun a slow, complex process of ‘unlearning’ the widely accepted American narrative of Thanksgiving,” Education Week reports. To unlearn the “myth” of Thanksgiving, educators are seeking ways “to help students appreciate colonial oppression of Natives and the violence that ensued from it.” The article helpfully includes a video of PBS NewsHours’ Judy Woodruff explaining that the “quintessential feel-good holiday” of Thanksgiving actually “perpetuates a myth and dishonors Native Americans.”

The story of Thanksgiving fares even worse on college campuses, where students are taught that it should be commemorated as a “National Day of Mourning,” not a day off for food, family, and football.

“It’s kind of just based off the genocide of the indigenous people,” one student at Minnesota’s Macalester College told the College Fix. “The history of the holiday is obviously not the best. It’s very violent and oppressive,” said another.

Like the Democrats’ impeachment narrative, this new “narrative of Thanksgiving” is total bulls**t. I know because I’ve read the transcript.

MSNBC Doubling Down on ‘Cult’ Narrative, Now Claims Trump Supporters Behave Like Islamic Terrorist Cult

I’m not sure what the media’s endgame is with this new “Trump supporters are a cult” narrative they’ve got going, but they’re really kicking it into high gear.

Do they think this message will resonate with Independents, who will hear it and say, “I can’t vote for Trump, that’s a cult!”

All this does is further show how wildly partisan these hacks are and what shameless fake news they spread. It also insults a bazillion people and makes us hate the media even more than we already do.

Protesters March in St. Louis Galleria Mall on Black Friday

RICHMOND HEIGHTS — About 16 protesters marched on Friday inside the St. Louis Galleria mall, yelling popular social justice slogans and calling out what they said was an unjust police shooting this summer.

Terry Tillman, 23, of St. Louis, was fatally shot in August. A Richmond Heights police officer saw Tillman carrying a gun, and chased him out of the mall, according to St. Louis County police.

The protest on Friday started small, with just a few people on the Galleria’s third floor, yelling over the balcony to shoppers, who had begun to fill the mall for Black Friday sales.

The Traitorous CIA’s Role in the Attempted Overthrow of America Goes Back Decades Using One False Flag After Another & Their Total Infiltration by America-Hating Communists & Muslims

US Intelligence Agency Traitors Have Long Tortured & Murdered Americans With Impunity

There is reason to believe that outright communists and Muslims, people who wish to destroy what remains of our Republic, have been infiltrating the CIA and FBI for decades. John Brennan, the man whose face appears perpetually contorted by hatred, voted for a communist candidate for President in 1976, but, shortly thereafter, was hired by the CIA, eventually rising to the post of Director from 3/2013 to 1/2017. The FBI’s former chief, James Comey, had also voted communist. Bear in mind that the CIA hired communist Brennan during the Cold War, when Russia really was our main rival and potential enemy.

Note that the leftists and neocons who today tell us over and over that Putin is evil and Russia is our deadliest foe were always sympathetic to the communist government of the USSR. Brennan was very close to Hussein Obama, who was very likely a Muslim, and he learned Arabic while studying in Cairo. In 1996 he was appointed Station Chief for the CIA in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He has consistently been pro-Islamic, and many believe that this former Catholic and graduate of Fordham University converted to Islam years ago.

He is in favor of gun “control” and has denied that “jihad” means “holy” war. More than once he has met with the Islamic Society of North America, which is a front for terrorists. Brennan has denied the existence of unalienable rights. If the CIA had all along gone out of their way to hire traitors, they could not have done any worse. Brennan, along with his fellow communist Comey, was involved from the start in the underhanded attempts to sabotage and even impeach Trump. He presently has a cushy job with the slimestream media.

Trump appointed Gina Haspell as DCIA; she had worked directly for Brennan, and headed a site in Thailand where prisoners were tortured. She and Trump have made no effort to purge the traitors from the CIA and other agencies and bring about real reform. The creation of the CIA, along with the Civil War, the creation of the Federal Reserve and IRS, the FBI, FDR’s New Deal, and LBJ’s welfare and voting “rights” acts, is just another milestone on our path from being a free and prosperous Republic to being a Third World Schiff-hole with a fascist government. As I have said before, one way or another, we’re going to have to fight these people.

Mohamed has a history of being arrested for real time interruptions of public events.

The Way They Teach Orwell in Canada is Orwellian

All writers enjoying respect and popularity in their lifetimes entertain the hope that their work will outlive them. The true mark of a writer’s enduring influence is the adjectification of his (sorry, but it usually is “his”)—name. An especially jolly Christmas scene is said to be “Dickensian.” A cryptically written story is “Hemingwayesque.” A corrupted legal process gives rise to a “Kafkaesque” nightmare for the falsely accused. A ruthless politician takes a “Machiavellian” approach to besting his rival.

But the greatest of these is “Orwellian.” This is a modifier that The New York Times has declared “the most widely used adjective derived from the name of a modern writer … It’s more common than ‘Kafkaesque,’ ‘Hemingwayesque’ and ‘Dickensian’ put together. It even noses out the rival political reproach ‘Machiavellian’, which had a 500-year head start.”

Orwell changed the way we think about the world. For most of us, the word Orwellian is synonymous with either totalitarianism itself or the mindset that is eager to employ totalitarian methods—notably the bowdlerization or suppression of speech and freedoms—as a hedge against popular challenge to a politically correct vision of society dictated by a small cadre of elites.

UK: London Bridge Terror: Police Shoot Knifeman, Several Injured

One man was shot by police Friday afternoon in the aftermath of a ‘terror’ incident on London Bridge, just yards from the 2017 terror attack where nine were killed and dozens injured in an Islamist attack.

Images and video uploaded to social media from London bridge Friday show dozens of police vehicles and armed response officers in the area amid the apparent knife attack. Police shot one man dead at the scene and several are reported injured.

London’s Metropolitan Police have said that while they do not yet understand the motive of the knife attack on London Bridge today, they are treating it as a terror incident until they know otherwise. The force has also acknowledged the shooting of a man by officers, although they have not explicitly said the shooting was fatal.

Footage acquired by The Sun newspaper shows members of the public helping detain the knifeman as police arrive at the scene. A man in formal business attire is seen carrying a large kitchen-type knife away from the attacker, while another pins him down. As police pull the member of the public off the alleged terrorist, offers fire twice.

UK: London Bridge Terror: A Man and a Woman Were Killed During the Attack

Two members of the public — a man and a woman — were killed in a terror attack at London Bridge on Friday afternoon, police have confirmed.

Three others — a man and two women — were also injured and remain in hospital, Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu said.

One is in a critical but stable condition, another is stable and the third suffered less serious injuries.

Mr Basu said in a statement: “Tragically, two people — a man and a woman — were killed during the attack. Three others — a man and two women — were also injured and remain in hospital.

“The circumstances, as we currently understand them, are that the attacker attended an event earlier on Friday afternoon at Fishmongers’ Hall called ‘Learning Together’.

“We believe that the attack began inside before he left the building and proceeded onto London Bridge, where he was detained and subsequently confronted and shot by armed officers.”

Met Police Commissioner Cressida Dick praised the “extraordinary courage”of members of the public who tackled the offender. It has since emerged that one of those who pinned him down was an off duty plain clothes police officer.

The attacker, who has been named by police as 28-year-old Usman Khan, was shot dead at point-blank range by police on London Bridge. He appeared to be wearing a fake suicide vest.

Sky’s Home Affairs correspondent Mark White has been told by sources that Khan was a convicted terrorist who had recently been released from prison and was wearing an electronic tag.

French police recently cleared more than 2,000 migrants from makeshift encampments in northern Paris. The crackdown comes after the government announced a series of measures to curb illegal immigration.

The migration crackdown appears to be aimed at blunting the rising popularity of the anti-mass-migration party National Rally and its leader Marine Le Pen. She has dismissed the government’s actions as a “political swindle” that will increase, not decrease, immigration.

Taking Back Control? Non-EU Immigration Rises to Near-Record Levels

Non-EU immigration — the only type of immigration the Government can control — has risen to near-record levels.

Immigration from European Union member-states, as well as the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland, is almost entirely outside the British government’s control, as they are part of the Free Movement regime which the United Kingdom remains subject, despite the fact that more than three years have passed since the British people voted to leave the bloc.

‘Pedophile’ Culture Approved in Texas Schools

(warning: graphic content) A Texas school board has voted to implement a sex education curriculum that will teach children various sex acts, including anal sex.

The Austin Independent School District (AISD) Board of Trustees voted October 28 for a “sex education” program which exposes 3rd—8th grade children to content that a number of parents are objecting to as inappropriate and harmful.

Protesters gathered to “Stand Up for Children” at the meeting, gathering to address the crowd, but were interrupted by pro-curriculum advocates, including a black transgender who screamed in front of the podium, harrassing the crowd.

Other protestors used loudspeakers and instruments to drown out the speakers, one waving a rainbow flag and another wearing a shirt saying, “I MET GOD. THEY’RE QUEER Y’ALL.”

As many as 126 citizens came to the board meeting to voice their concerns. But the Board of Trustees was undeterred, and at the end of the meeting, which ran over five hours, the school board voted unanimously to pass the curriculum — to the applause of LGBT advocates…

Another concerned citizen, Gary Moore, observed that the program is a “dream scenario for pedophiles” as it encourages children to roleplay sexual activities for an academic grade at the discretion of their educator.

Social Justice Program Says Teachers Should ‘Reject and Resist’ Parents Who Disagree With it

The program, called “Deep Equity,” is offered by Corwin Press, a subsidiary of SAGE. According to its website, the program was developed by Gary Howard, a self-proclaimed civil rights activist with experience in “social justice, equity, education, and diversity.”

The Left Hates Thanksgiving, Gratitude, And Coexistence

That’s why it wants to destroy Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving brings with it three things: turkey, family, and guides on how to win political fights with family members. The latest entry in this popular proggie pastime is Lauren Duca of Teen Vogue who not only offers a guide to fighting with your family members, but urges future lonely proggies like her who face a future of hookups followed by cat hoarding, that refusing to fight at the dinner table is racist.

“The crisis of white politeness will persist so long as we ‘keep it nice’ and avoid talking about politics. Breaking the spell requires us to actively unlearn the stories and patterns of the white supremacist patriarchy,” Duca rants.

Not picking fights at the dinner table is a conspiracy by the white supremacist patriarchy which wants you to be nice to people. The woke crowd understands that niceness is racism. Now enjoy your turkey.

When lefties aren’t ruining Thanksgiving by being ‘Ducas’: they’re attacking the existence of the holiday.

  1. The BBC website’s coverage of the stabber overpowered on London Bridge describes him as a “former prisoner convicted of terrorism offences”. Nowhere in the article is there any mention of Islam, muslim, or jihad. The only clue is the name of the stabber, Usman Khan.
Apart from the name the reader could suppose this was a “far right extremist”.

    • Except that if it were a “right-wing extremist”, that fact would be blazoned in all the headlines.
