When a Law is Not a Law

The first video below shows an incident that made headlines a few days ago in France. A woman in hijab entered the chamber of a regional parliament, and the resulting objections to her veil caused loud arguments among the lawmakers.

In the second video, Emmanuel “Toy Boy” Macron responds to questions from the press about the incident. Mr. Macron is saying, in effect: “The law should not be enforced against people whose ideology carries the implicit threat of violence. It should only be enforced against people who meekly submit and present no threat of violence.”

In other words, a law will not be enforced against Muslims if they don’t like it. But it will be enforced against the native French.

Video #2: The President of the Republic

Video transcript #1:

00:00   Madame President, I’ll ask you,
00:04   please, in the name of our secular principles
00:08   to ask Madame Chaperone
00:12   who just entered this room to be so kind as to remove
00:16   her Islamic veil, please.
00:20   It’s a public building. [Female: So what? secularism doesn’t…] We have decided in a democratic way,
00:24   Madame has all the freedom to wear this veil at home, on the street [We remind about the law?]
00:29   but not here, not today. [Male voice echoing: Not here, not today]
00:33   In the name of our Republican principles [Male voice: You are a fascist!], also in the name of
00:37   all the women who fight in the world precisely to stop Islamic dictatorship,
00:41   I’m asking you to kindly ask that person to remove [Male voice: stop f******* talking rubbish!]…
00:45   This is a Republican building here, this is the Republic, and this is secularism.
00:49   Madame has all the freedom and the liberty to keep her veil on
00:53   outside, on the street, at home, but NOT here!
00:58   [Several voices:] It’s the law! Respect the law! It’s the law of the Republic!
01:02   It’s Republican! These are Republican principles!
01:06   [Several voices chanting:] —Se-cu-la-rism! —Secularism!
01:10   Secularism and the Enlightenment, Madame President! The Enlightenment!
01:14   The France of the Enlightenment dictated that. The France of the Enlightenment wants to enforce the law.
01:18   [Male voice: ] The France of the Enlightenment is that! [Another male voice:] Don’t wait for
01:23   the Enlightenment. —The France of the Enlightenment is that!
01:27   [Male voice:] —We don’t give a f*** about the Republic! [Female voice:] What’s the law?
01:31
01:39   Are you done? —No!
01:43   Madame President! —You talk.
01:47   No, no, no. Madame President, I remind you of the rules.
01:51   A reminder of the rules. Article #6 of our rules,
01:56   Madame President. Article #6. —Article #6!
02:00   Article #6 of the rules! Article #6!
02:04   Could you listen to me? —No, no. —Could you listen to me calmly, perhaps? —I just made a remark,
02:08   a reminder about the rules. Madame President
02:12   can forbid access to a person or to a group of people
02:16   whose behavior is preventing the progress of the session.

Video transcript #2:

00:00   What I said is that there is secularism, and that sometimes there may be a “secular-excess-ism”
00:04   when some people make a sort of weapon of war out of secularism
00:08   against Islam, thinking that the answer to the problems
00:12   that we have today is, well, is to combat Islam by forbidding
00:16   new things: the hijab at the university,
00:20   or by combating it on other symbolic subjects. Secularism
00:24   as defined in 1905 is an ensemble, it’s a whole, it’s a principle of freedom.
00:28   And this principle has to be defended, and at the same time this principle has to be applied
00:32   in an uncompromising way. If we give the impression that we’re fighting on symbolic territory
00:36   against a religion, we will fracture everything, be playing the game of some,
00:39   the game of division and civil war.

  1. Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland”, with Humpty Dumpty,

“When I use a word,” Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, “it means just what I choose it to mean—neither more nor less.”
“The question is,” said Alice, “whether you can make words mean so many different things.”
“The question is,” said Humpty Dumpty, “which is to be master—that’s all.”

Macron making words mean whatever they think works, for their self importance and to retain their power & control.

I think I will have to read up all those Lewis Carroll books.
    Also Johnathon Swifts, “Gulliver’s Travels”.
History does not repeat, but sort of rhymes and often amazing parallels.

  2. Yes what Macron is enforcing is the French religion of secularism. Macron has instituted his own particular version of religious secularism as rational relativism. Which in legal terms pans out as one set of different entitlement laws for every protected class and serfdom for the native european people which results in the recipe for the nullification of governing bodies which only serve the global collectivist death cult (Oligarchical Collectivism) that Macron is just one excellent example of.

“Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add ‘within the limits of the law’, because law is often but the tyrant’s will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.” -Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826)
