Dallas Police Investigate Death of Witness in Ex-Cop’s Trial
DALLAS (AP) — A man who was fatally shot has been identified as a key witness in the murder trial of a white Dallas police officer who killed her black neighbor, Dallas police said Sunday.
Joshua Xavier Brown, 28, was found Friday night in the parking lot of an apartment complex with multiple gunshot wounds, authorities said. Brown was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Brown lived in the same apartment complex as Amber Guyger and Botham Jean and testified at Guyger’s trial, where she was convicted of murder on Tuesday. The Jean family attorney, Lee Merritt, posted a statement on Twitter that said he had spoken with Brown’s mother and “she is devastated.”

Dozens of protesters marched outside the Supreme Court to call for Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s impeachment on the one year anniversary of his confirmation.
The protesters stood in front of the court and blocked traffic while chanting “Impeach the motherf — —er!” referring to Kavanaugh, and perhaps also President Trump. Democratic Massachusetts Rep. Ayanna Pressley joined the protesters at one point during the day to give support for their cause.

Joker is continuing to stir controversy on its opening weekend, after some fans stormed out of theaters around the world saying the movie was too disturbing and ‘triggering’.

Michael Avenatti Puts Attorney Fee Lien on Stormy Daniels Strip Club Arrest Settlement

Michael Avenatti, the once-upon-a-time highly-touted potential Democrat presidential candidate, former favorite anti-Trumper of cable loon TV, and defendant in multiple criminal prosecutions, claims his most infamous client Stormy Daniels (aka Stephanie Clifford) owes him $2 million in legal fees and costs.
For what? After all, Avenatti’s representation of Stormy against Donald Trump completely collapsed, with Stormy being ordered to pay Trump almost $300,000 in legal fees and costs. Avenatti was indicted for a separate representation of Stormy and alleged financial abuse of her.

Moviegoers fled a screening of Joker after a man in the audience spat at other patrons and cheered every time a character was killed on screen.
Witnesses said a third of the audience left the AMC Empire 25 theater near New York’s Times Square as they feared for their safety.
Tweeting a picture of the alleged villain, Nathanael Hood said: ‘This is the guy who spent our entire screening of JOKER in NYC spitting at people and clapping whenever Joker killed somebody.

27,000 French Police Stage Protest Over Poor Working Conditions, Increased Suicides, And Low Morale
Close to 27,000 French police officers staged a “march of anger” on the streets of Paris this week to protest against a range of issues, including poor working conditions, low morale, surging suicide rates, and a lack of resources.

Italy: Tax Wedge Cut Not Revolution of Proletariat Says Renzi
Conte irks IV with ‘phenomenons’ jibe
(ANSA) — Rome, October 4 — Centrist Italia Viva (IV) leader Matteo Renzi on Friday slammed the government’s allegedly insufficient planned cut to the labour tax wedge in the 2020 budget bill.
The former centre-left Democratic Party (PD) leader and ex-premier said: “I gave 80 euros a month for six years (in a low-income wage boost) and they said it was just a tip.
“Now they’re just putting two billion into the tax wedge (cut), and they can’t really say it’s the revolution of the proletariat”.
Renzi, who split from the PD to form IV last month, has been calling for a bigger tax-wedge cut to hopefully boost the economy.
While he was in government the former PD leader frequently complained about sniping from his own side.
The 5-Star-PD government has not been able to divert enough funds from avoiding a VAT hike to fund the tax wedge move.
Premier Giuseppe Conte retorted to Renzi: “Everyone must take part in the government’s action with the utmost commitment and determination. WE don’t need phenomenons. If someone wants to go on TV let him go, but then he should sit down at the table. When you sit down, the force or your arguments is what counts”.
“We’re talking about workers who need to have purchasing power, If for Renzi, who has a big salary, 20-30 euros is too little, OK…He gave a lot more, he used public resources, but we have a very delicate picture of finances”.
IV bigwig Ettore Rosato told ANSA in response: “We’re not the phenomenons, but your previous allies” referring to the nationalist League party.
Anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) leader and Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio said ““we don’t need fights.
“Let’s lower the volume and all get to work”, he said.

Dutch prime minister Mark Rutte told European Union countries to heed the call of U.S. leader Donald Trump and pay their fair share to sustain NATO.

More Than 100 Killed and Thousands Injured in Anti-Government Protests in Iraq
Iraqi authorities say at least seven more people were killed in clashes between protesters and police in eastern Baghdad on Sunday, bringing the death toll from nearly a week of anti-government rallies throughout Iraq to more than 100 with thousands of others injured.
Protesters, who took to the streets on Tuesday frustrated over joblessness and corruption, have been met with live ammunition from security forces attempting to break up the mass demonstrations that have convulsed Baghdad and parts of southern Iraq for days.
So far, 104 people have been killed and 6,107 have been wounded in the unrest, according to figures released by Iraqi security officials. More than 1,200 security members are among the injured.

Italian company confirms commitment to South American country
(ANSA) — Sao Paulo, October 4 — Italian company Julia Utensili, one of the international leaders for the production of metal-cutting saws, has said that it will continue to bank on Brazil, where is has been doing business for over two decades, even though the South American country’s economy is currently experiencing uncertainty. “We are confident that Brazil will improve in the medium and long term,” Ernesto D’Andrea, the company’s sales director, told ANSA after a conference at the Tubotech fair dedicated to tubes, valves and connectors. Organized by Cipa Fiera Milano, the event has been taking place in Sao Paulo since Thursday.
