Some Planes Did Something

I borrowed the title of this post from Steven Hayward’s 9-11 piece at Power Line. See also “Ilhan Omar’s 9/11”.

Dymphna and I have been posting these 9-11 anniversary essays once a year, beginning in 2005, so this makes the fifteenth. I’m on my own now, and I must admit to a certain discouragement: in the eighteen years since the Twin Towers fell, our ability to identify and deal with the danger of Islamization has markedly deteriorated.

Readers who are old enough to recall the fall of 2001 may remember the robust public discussions about Islam that took place during the months after September 11, even in the MSM. Even on NPR! I remember listening to the op-eds during “All Things Considered” in the car on my way home from work. Yes, the general conclusion — led by the pronouncements of President George W. “Religion of Peace” Bush — was that the perpetrators of 9-11 were “extremists” who had “hijacked a great religion”. But Islam was mentioned, and it was even possible to publicly dissent from the “extremist-vs.-moderate” party line without being hounded from one’s job and driven into hiding.

Not any more.

Over the intervening years, the patient infiltration and indoctrination by the Muslim Brotherhood has borne fruit. The word “Islam” is rarely used in any public commemorations of 9-11. In fact, the public remembrances themselves are becoming more and more frowned upon and stigmatized as “racist”, “white supremacist”, etc., etc.

In the Long War, Ilhan Omar is winning, and we traditional Americans are losing.

Mark Steyn says it much better than I ever could in “The Language of Losing”. Some excerpts:

The eighteenth anniversary of 9/11 was marked by the Administration inviting the Taliban to Camp David, and by the resignation and/or firing of John Bolton as National Security Advisor — which two events may not be unconnected. Because really, when the Taliban are running around Camp David, who needs national security?

[…]

We run around fighting for worthless bits of barren sod like Helmand province in Afghanistan, while surrendering day by day some of the most valuable real estate on the planet, such as France and Sweden.

[…]

In any war, you have to be able to prioritize: You can’t win everything, so where would you rather win? Raqqa or Rotterdam? Kandahar or Cannes? Yet, whenever some guy goes Allahu Akbar on the streets of a western city, the telly pundits generally fall into one of two groups: The left say it’s no big deal, and the right say this is why we need more boots on the ground in Syria or Afghanistan. Yesterday President Trump said he was committed to ensuring that terrorists “never again have a safe haven to launch attacks against our country”.

By that he means “safe havens” in Afghanistan. But the reason the west’s enemies are able to pile up a continuous corpse count in Paris, Nice, Berlin, Brussels, London, Manchester, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Orlando, San Bernadino, Ottawa, Sydney, Barcelona, [Your Town Here] is because they have “safe havens” in France, Germany, Britain, Scandinavia, North America, etc. Which “safe havens” are likely to prove more consequential for the developed world in the years ahead?

Who’s winning what turf? After 16 years of western military occupation, the Taliban control more territory in Afghanistan than at any time since the first US troops went in. On the other hand, after 16 years of accelerating Islamic immigration, Europe has more no-go zones, more sharia courts, more refugees, more covered women, more Muslim-dominated schoolhouses, more radical mosques, more female genital mutilation, more grooming and gang rape, more Muslim Brotherhood front groups, more Muslim mayors and legislators, more Muslim-funded Middle East Studies programs at universities …and fewer churches, fewer Jews in Toulouse, fewer gays in Amsterdam, fewer unaccompanied women out after dark in German and Swedish cities, fewer historical representations of Mohammed in Continental museums, art galleries and scholarly books, fewer mixed bathing sessions at municipal swimming pools, fewer lessons on the Crusades and the Holocaust in European schools… and less and less free speech in some of the oldest democracies on earth.

[…]

…General Mattis’ line about “maniacs disguised in false religious garb” might be politic or even sincere when advanced in Tikrit or Basra, but delivered at the Pentagon it’s the most feeble dissembling 16 years into an existential struggle. And its deployment on 9/11 itself — on the home front, on sacred ground where blood was spilled — is not a small thing. It underlines that, in a profound sense, the dreary endless unwon wars in Afghanistan and elsewhere are not just a peripheral distraction from the real, central front, but an obstacle that prevents even the shrewdest and bravest of men from framing the struggle correctly.

  1. Dear Baron,
    Some other people did something!
The fact is that the Twin Towers and Building 7 were taken down by controlled demolitions. Realising that makes me sick. You can´t trust anything you have been told since. It scares me that the truth about 9/11 isn´t out yet!

    • the enemy destroyed the twin towers and other real estate in Manhattan. Are you saying the enemy is the American government?

        • Christopher Bollyn has most of the 9/11 answers which can be found on http://www.bollyn.com. Please listen to his numerous interviews. He needs to see political Islam is totally evil. He knows what some of the Israeli government does is also evil. His site is extensive and is a must if you want to begin to wrap your head around this. Had the pleasure of hearing him in person 2 years ago, so worthwhile. What a brave man! Please support this brave truthteller!

      • revisit the video footage of building 7 collapsing. No plane debris ever hit it, as far as I know,
        not inclined to conspiracy theories.

    • Spot on, the video and documentary evidence ive seen on youtube, along with interviews with ex chief of nyc fire dept, plus tons of evidence now, plus building 7, was never mentioned at the time,
The buildings were wired up, months before the planes hit, interviews with people who worked in wtc, told that for weeks before there was some strange work going on in middle night, people coming and going, abd lot equipment going into the building.
See the video doc on youtube. It looks like the buildings were wired up, to ensure they collapsed, looks like controlled demolition, seems like us gov were working with these terrorists, just like they have created, funded and armed isis. The enemy is our own goverments!
      Just Look at brexit???

    • There are two well known belief systems that immediately and infallibly identify a person as insane.

The first of these is the belief that the Moon landings never took place.

The second belief system is that the twin towers were deliberately demolished by the US or Israeli government using carefully installed demolition charges.

Some forums have adopted the policy of immediately deleting toxic and silly posts on both of these topics as too absurd to be worthy of consideration and those forums have no hesitation in deleting such posts while at the same time banning the poster.

I would strongly support such a policy for GoV.

      • I agree. If this forum is taken over by “truthers” and “It was the Jooooos” then I will no longer frequent it.

        • I don’t have a problem with “truthers”, unless it gets into the serious Jew-hatred stuff.

I don’t understand why people are so afraid of open discussion that includes opinions they deeply disagree with. The Left wants to shut out people they disagree with. Do we really want to imitate them?

As for your no longer frequenting this forum — I will miss you sorely when you go. But not enough to make me shut down a discussion that stays within reasonable limits.

          • Thank you baron 🙂
            Properly And well said!
These 2 commenters exhibit marxist overtones,

Banning people?? Because they have different take or view on things, this is what gov is fighting against! Isnt it? I find theses odd commenters really odd.
            Agents of now?

      • I find u comment, very suspicious! R u a cia stooge??? Trying silence others free speech??

If u watch this video, interviews, hard evidence, building 7, it looks very vety convincing.

U write me off as a nutjob? Who are you???

U sound like agent out of the matrix!!

To try to silence others??? Ban them???

It looks like to me, from this very convincing doc, that those buildings were aided by explosives in there collapsing into a perfect demolition foot print.

Thermite, its claimed used to melt the steel, lots hard evidence, including former head of fdnyc,
It looks very very fishy now, 9 / 11

        https://youtu.be/R9-PeP55bFQ

        • the main problem regarding “ conspiracy “ theories is keeping the conspiracy secret.

i simply do not regard the required level of COMPETENCY for this particular “ conspiracy “ to remain secret can be in the slightest possibility ever achievable.

you believe there are very large numbers of people competent enough to keep the secret. i do not believe such competency could exist in government, or anywhere else.

      • Are you claimimg all these witnesses, and info, zre phony??

Im sorry, but 9/11 looks very very very fishy, after knowing facts available now, facts not available back in 2001.
Im not easily swayed, but are u saying all these people are liars??? That facts shown here are staged??

        https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7OKpDYWV1cc

    • And the field in Pennsylvania? And Barbra Olsen(where is she) on the flight that crashed into the Pentagon?

    • One reason people believe in conspiracy theories is that it makes them feel “special” to “know” something that others don’t.

Dude, you’re not special. At least not in the sense you think you are.

      • [insult redacted]! Feel special?? Im lookingvat whar seem to be verifiable facts, as portrayed And stated in documentary evidence.

So all those fire fighters, including headhoncho of fdny are liars???
        [ad hominem redacted]???

Theres too many witnesses and testimony.,

Its very very fishy 9/11. Even the heAd boss of fdny says it was wired up. Says it was a inside job.

        So hes a liar also????

  2. We’ve had a half doz. or so missiles over this week, launched from Muslim Brotherhood territory (Gaza) and targeted randomly at a civilian population (Me included). Is this a war crime?

    Yes but…..

The reality is that brown people are deemed to be justified in firing missiles at civilians ‘cos of white ‘colonialism’; It is strange, this ‘colonialism’ business especially because, when Ovid refers to ‘Palestine’ in his 1st century writings, it was a Jewish Israeli Palestine , one which has just now been ‘colonised’ again by those same Jews and Israelis (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_the_name_%22Palestine%22)

Actually, the Turks lost a war and had to pay the consequences, and losing Palestine was one of them, but they have found that if they bleat long enough and loud enough, they can obfuscate history. So history is no long written by the victor, but by the politically correct victim(s).

When it comes down to it, white men’s laws are now only for straight white males, for everybody else they are fuzzy and inchoate, subject to a random bleeding heart factor.

Islam in particular is viewed through the rose tinted spectacles of pure ignorance (or maybe mendacity); the pink colour in question being more a bloodshot red opacity of political convenience (or malevolence).

    • Yes, the dogs of war have been let loose by the elite on the populace. Of course, when the dogs are finished with the populace, who do you think they will turn to for their midnight snack? Hmmm? While the elite are throwing their gold out into the streets because it won’t buy them a loaf of bread? sounds like tons of fun for the last daze, or was that days?

  3. Re: “Dymphna and I have been posting these 9-11 anniversary essays once a year, beginning in 2005, so this makes the fifteenth. I’m on my own now, and I must admit to a certain discouragement: in the eighteen years since the Twin Towers fell, our ability to identify and deal with the danger of Islamization has markedly deteriorated.”

Baron, your observation is correct. Here in the U.S. and in the West at large, the caliber of discourse about Islam and Muslim affairs has deteriorated markedly. This is no accident, indeed it is by design.

It is no secret that the Bill of Rights here in the U.S. is under assault as never before. Presently, the enemies of liberty are focused on trying to take out the Second Amendment, but that is only because of the keystone role that amendment plays in securing the other nine.

We in the West have known for years that freedom of expression and freedom of speech are under assault. For the time being, Americans still have most of these freedoms, albeit attenuated in certain circumstances. If one works for a Fortune 500 firm, there are certain politically-correct lines which must not be crossed.

However, in Europe, as the trails and tribulations of Paul Weston, Geert Wilders, and Tomy Robinson have shown, saying the wrong thing about Islam can get one thrown in jail for committing a “hate crime.”

In short, then, Europe is much further down the path to totalitarianism than we are, at least for the time being. The nations of Eastern Europe, in particular the Visegrad Four, are for now holding firm against the onrushing tide of EU tyranny.

My larger point is that none of this has happened by accident. The speech codes, hate crimes statutes, regimes of political correctness, multiculturalism, mass immigration, the turning of ancient virtues into vices, etc. All of these are of a piece, part of the coordinated effort to criminalize dissent, thereby crushing whatever resistance arises to the NWO our betters are planning for us.

The globalists coordinating all of this behind the curtain cannot allow dissent to blossom, for they know full-well that the great masses of people, whether here in the U.S. or in Europe, don’t like what is in store for them. The people don’t want their historic, ancient societies handed over to strangers from other parts of the world; they don’t want any more mass immigration, and they certainly don’t want Islam.

They abhor the violence and chaos which have accompanied the strangers in their midst – to their new countries. People who for generations felt safe on the streets of their cities and towns now fear to go out alone, especially unaccompanied women and after dark.

The whole propaganda effort of the elites, then, must be directed toward neutralizing what the common people seeing with their own eyes is happening to their societies. The drive to criminalize criticism of Islam; the lack of informative fact-based and historically-literate analysis of Islam in the European press. The public statements of people like Pope Francis and other Islamic apologists. Western schools and universities which for decades, centuries really, taught the real history of the conflict between Islam and the West -have now consigned such scholarship to the memory hole. And no, you won’t find it in many libraries anymore, either.

Having failed to outlaw criticism of Islam and of themselves, the elites will opt for plan B: they’ll simply outlaw thought itself. Oh, no overt law will be necessary… just a slow dumbing-down of society, a lowering of the intellectual bar until no one even asks questions anymore. The elites needn’t burn books; they simply need to create a society in which no one bothers to learn or read anymore. This was the intent of political-correctness all along – to remove from society the ability to think critically. It is but a short step from politically-correct thought – to no thought at all.

  4. In many respects, the seeds of our further decline as a civilization were sown in the aftermath of 9/11 with introduction of the mantra about “Islam is the religion of peace” which really should have been “pieces (of bodies).” It was an outright lie then, and it remains so today. There has never been anything peaceful about Islam. It has always spread exclusively by the sword.

Today we are unable to have a rational discourse on all of this because so few know real history (as opposed to revisionist history or none at all). Few know that Islam is a total life system, intent on governing every aspect of the follower’s life, from worship to defecation – lslam has rules governing all of it.

Islam and Western civilization are totally incompatible, as has been proved time and again throughout history.

One sign of our decay is unwillingness to examine the evidence with a honest mind. This is evident right here in this comment thread where Ahem says, “The second belief system is that the twin towers were deliberately demolished by the US or Israeli government using carefully installed demolition charges.” I am an engineer, and I have looked at some of these studies myself. There is nothing that I have seen to indicate the US or Israeli governments were involved, but the way the towers fell is strongly indicative of a demolition. I think we have two fairly clear observations:
    1) It was Arabic folks who commandeered the planes;
    2) The way the buildings came down points to an engineered demolition.
This suggests the involvement of some sort of governmental authority, such as the Port Authority of New York (owner of the buildings). But that does not rule out Islamic participation. Why would the Muslims not be willing to take part, get “credit” for such a dramatic blow against the USA? I think we can find several guilty parties here, not just one.

    • If the collapse of the towers was a controlled demolition, then who detonated the charges, and how?

  5. All day I heard media telling us to remember the victims and first responders. Nowhere, save Tucker and Hannity, did I hear even a mention of who committed the act.

Saudi Arabia attacks us so we attack Afghanistan…Brilliant!

  6. Well, this just makes me sick. Are we really going to re litigate two planes flying into the WTC while the perpetrators were clearly Islamic terrorists?
I am actually embarrassed that the Baron would allow this thread to go forward on 9/11.
18 years on and I feel sad. I feel sad today because the entire conversation has gone so off track that it is worrisome that we will ever reclaim our culture.

  7. The so-called “9-11 Truthers” have been claiming for years that the Twin Towers were brought down by a “controlled demolition,” but they never substantial their claims, or name names as to precisely who was supposed to have ordered and carried out these acts, other than to blame the Mossad or the CIA.

What’s truly embarrassing about these claims is that they don’t even rise to the level of a half-baked conspiracy theory, let alone a decent halfway plausible one.

Are we to believe that the two passenger jets seen on live television hitting the towers were staged, in some manner fake or as they appeared to be? Are we to believe that the people hurling themselves to their deaths from those same buildings in order to escape the flames and smoke were not real? What about the ashes which settled upon Manhattan for days and weeks afterward? And on and on.

The collapse of the Twin Towers is easily-explained in the context of known data about the construction of the buildings themselves. Whereas most skyscrapers use a steel frame as the weight-bearing skeleton for the structure, the architects, engineers and designers of the WTC Towers employed a somewhat different design: They elected to use the floors and outside walls of the structure to bear as much of the load as possible, in lieu of more-extensive steel framework on the interior of the structure.

The tube-framed final construction of each tower employed 236 high-strength load-bearing perimeter steel columns, the use of which allowed a much more open floor-plan than with traditional steel-framed skyscrapers. The details of this design have been a matter of public record since the 1970s.

The signal weakness of the WTC Tower design, however, was that once one or more floors weakened and began to give way, and absent extensive steel framework in the interior spaces of the buildings, they soon pancaked down one on top of another, collapsing the entire structures, each in its turn.

A full-sized modern jet airliner with an al-Qaeda terrorist at its controllers – especially one full of fuel – is de facto a cruise missile. The kinetic energy of such an aircraft flying into the structure at over four hundred knots (American Airlines Flight 11 impacted at 440 mph, whereas United Flight 175 is estimated to have hit approximately one-hundred miles per hour faster, at 540 mph) would have been immense and possibly enough by itself to have caused one or both towers to collapse. However, the thermal effects of the fuel and other combustible substances aboard the aircraft and within the towers sealed their doom.

Although the heat generated may not have been enough to melt the steel of the structure outright, it was enough to soften and weaken it to the point of failure – at which time physics took over – the enormous weight of the buildings and gravity – finishing the job.

The idea that both WTC Towers were wired with thermite or other structural demolition charges, in complete secrecy and without anyone knowing about it, is absurd. The people who believe in such a preposterous idea have been watching Hollywood movies for too long.

Moreover, a conspiracy of that size would have been impossible to keep secret. Demolishing a huge structure like the WTC Towers, even under ideal conditions and in the open, would have been the work of months.

Next, these conspiracy theorists will start going on about how the July, 1969 Moon Landings were faked, too.

Perhaps most damning, the conspiracy theorists can’t even pin the attacks on anyone. Even if we set aside the technical and factual objections to their hare-brained theories, they have no actionable intelligence on the specifics of who ordered the attacks, and to what end, and so forth. OK, if Mossad did – who, what, where, when, why and how? An operation of this magnitude would leave a trail, one which investigators and forensic analysts could follow. So where is it? Specifics please….

The truth is that many -perhaps most – of these conspiracy theories read like propaganda invented by the Muslims themselves, perhaps the Saudis, the Iranians or the Pakistanis, to name a few. It’s the kind of low-grade stuff Muslim spooks for hire in some basement somewhere would churn out to throw infidel dupes off their trail. They must be laughing themselves silly at how many of the kafirs actually believed the nonsense they have invented!

    • Your “who, what, when, where, why, and how” question is exactly what I ask every time I read people commenting on the “controlled demolition” of Europe and the West–especially using third-world savages. It just doesn’t make any sense. I repeatedly ask, “What elite would want to live in the resulting world these savages will create?” If you engineer that much chaos, you won’t even be sure of having electricity, let alone cultural pursuits to enjoy while the masses are toiling.

If it’s a real plan, it wasn’t very well thought-out.

      • @Plum

Re: “Your “who, what, when, where, why, and how” question is exactly what I ask every time I read people commenting on the “controlled demolition” of Europe and the West–especially using third-world savages. It just doesn’t make any sense. ”

To a logical and sane mind, perhaps not – but whoever said those in favor of these events possessed either of those qualities?

If you study the history and ideology of globalism, particularly in its European form, some of the motives become clearer.

Perhaps the most-important member of the United Europe movement, as it was then called, was a heretofore obscure Austro-Hungarian nobleman named Count Richard Coudenhove von Kalergi (1894-1972). Kalergi, the well-born son of an Austro-Hungarian father (a diplomat by profession) and a Japanese mother, was of mixed race in a time when that was much less common than it is today – for his identity had a profound impact upon his worldview.

Kalgeri not only sought a politically-united Europe, he believed that nation-states were obsolete and that the ideal “Europe” of the future would be border-less, nation-less, and sharing the same language, culture and other norms.

Kalergi was also a eugenicist with some ideas about who/what the ideal European would be. The “ideal” European of the future, he wrote, would be – like himself – of mixed race, whose parents were neither purely European nor non-European. One parent from the darker-skinned peoples of the Third World, the other a native European.

Of course, such views inevitably brought comparisons to the National Socialists and Nazism. To the end of his life, Kalergi claimed to be against Nazism, and maintained that his vision was very different.

Clearly, Kalergi and his comrades were simply peddling some very old wine in shiny new bottles. Their claims to be different from the Nazis ring hollow, especially in view of developments since Kalgeri’s death in the 1970s.

Kalergi is considered by many historians to be the “father” of the modern-day European Union, and once annually, an award is given to the individual who best-exemplifies his vision. Commonly-called the Charlemagne Award, it is also called the Kalgeri Prize. Recent winners of the award include Pope Francis (2016) and German Chancellor Angela Merkel (2008), as well as globalist stalwarts Henry Kissinger (1987), Tony Blair (1999) and Bill Clinton (2000).

True to the name of their movement, the trans-national elites, including some of the figures above, are working toward globalism on multiple fronts. Regional consolidation, eventually leading to continent-wide consolidation and ultimately a truly global system.

These people believe that they can create a neo-feudal economic, social and political order, with themselves at the top – possessing almost unlimited wealth, power and influence – along with a privileged caste below them, with the great mass of wretched humanity below – who will be de facto serfs, slaves, subjects to be ruled by their betters.

As you note, non of this is very well-thought-out – since these so-called “elites” apparently do not realize that the first world – the modern world in which they live – is a product of the very civilization whose downfall they are hastening. They expect to ride the tiger they are bringing into being; it may end up eating them instead – but only time will tell on that one.

Indeed, this sort of ideological delusion divorced from reality is only possible in the first place because of how sheltered, privileged and safe these people are! In other words, western civilization – an entity they are dismantling brick-by-brick – makes their “success” possible. Will they even be able to survive, let alone prosper, in its absence? Again, only time will tell.

As to the upside-down sort of thinking which has gotten us to this point, I can only make a few observations.

People tend not to value things they have received as a gift as much as things for which they have had to work and sacrifice. Many of these globalists were born into privilege; some were self-made men/women, but not many. They look upon what is around them as their birthright, something to which they feel entitled and which they take for granted.

There is an old folk saying in the American South, one which was – if memory serves – made into a spiritual. It is entitled, “You Don’t Miss Your Water (Until Your Well Runs Dry)”… the so-called “elites” seem to take for granted that the world they are busily-creating will be a better one than the one in which they now reside. Too late they may find that the one they dismantled wasn’t so bad after all – but by then of course it will be too late. The well of their good fortune and prosperity will have gone dry.

        Returning to the real world…

Matt Bracken – the former U.S. Navy SEAL officer and combat veteran who is now a respected current-affairs analyst and writer, has predicted that some form of violent conflict in Europe in the near-term future is inevitable.

Speaking of which, let’s discuss the mechanism being used by the globalists to “force” change to happen. I am referring to the Hegelian dialectic, the simple three-step process the Left (Cultural Marxists) have used for the last century to take over the West.

Create a crisis of some type, provoke a reaction (synthesis), which triggers a “solution” (resolution) which gives the party-in-question (the globalists) what they wanted in the first place.

The importation of the diaspora of the Third World, especially very large numbers of Muslims, is clearly intended to disrupt the heretofore smoothly-running system of European society. As their numbers increase so do the violence, chaos and death the soldiers of Allah take with them wherever they go.

Grenade attacks in Sweden. Threats against journalists in Denmark. A priest beaten to death upon the alter of his very own church in France; the burning of one of the most-famous cathedrals in the world at Notre Dame. A British soldier ritually-beheaded in broad daylight upon the streets of a London suburb. Mass rape and assault in the Cologne Square in that German city. The grooming scandal in Rotherham, England.

Social cohesion in these places is being fractured, the formerly high-trust societies in these places deteriorating into suspicion, fear and cynicism. Faith in government and societal institutions is plunging. People are frightened. Already there are “no-go zones” appearing in major European cities, enclaves controlled by Muslims and into which only the most-heavily-armed police and soldiers can go.

Clearly, this is the crisis stage of the Hegelian process. At some point, the backlash will come. Perhaps the “Yellow Vest” movement in France is part of that, perhaps not. At some point, something will have to give.If things break the way the globalists hope, they can step in and offer an end to the crisis, on terms favorable to what they want – i.e., more power for Brussels, less control over their own lives for ordinary people across Europe, etc.

I don’t pretend to have a complete picture of events or their motives, but the above analysis is a start.

Matt Bracken likens the globalist/elite effort to transform Old Europe to a military operation on the order of the 1944 Invasion of Normandy; his belief is that this effort has been organized, funded and carried-out on just as-massive a basis. The whole thing is supposed to look spontaneous and natural, but it is anything but that. This is an invasion – a demographic invasion, but an invasion none-the-less, an operation of asymmetric war.

        • Thank you for such a comprehensive summary. I appreciate it. I will copy this post to a word document so that I can refer to it periodically.
I’m not sure I see the inherent insidiousness of Kalergi’s original intent. I don’t agree with the idea, but he might have been inspired to support interracial breeding due to his own marginal ethnic status, as you point out. The actress Merle Oberon suffered the same discrimination. She even went so far as to pass her mother off as her servant when she first arrived in England. And in some respects, America could very well become the same ethnic mix. But that doesn’t automatically entail a feudal system, does it?

That being said, I still insist (and I’m sure you don’t fully disagree) that a sophisticated civilization requires a great deal of stability. In a person’s private enclave or compound (think those that drug lords inhabit) he or she still might want internet access. Or a phone signal. We are so accustomed to ready access to those things that we don’t even think about the complex structure of work and organization that goes into creating it. Even now, the whole world does not have uninterrupted computer connections.

Then again, the serfs could possibly live in something akin to the Districts in the Hunger Games, providing basic materials, while those who provided more sophisticated technology would live in Panem. THAT’S conceivable, and its potential reality why I thought that trilogy was so depressing.
But there will always be, serfs or no, regional differences that yield distinct cultures. They derive from the landscape, the weather, the group’s genetic composition, etc. The erasure of that could only come through a neural net that connected everyone to a central system. And THAT would be the end of mankind as we know it.

  8. Out of 31 posts perhaps four or five were “on topic”. The truther post effectively and totally derailed this thread beyond salvage.

A hearty congrats to Len and his small number of supporting fellow loons (that’s a Canadian coin, I believe).

Perhaps the ruthless policy I suggested earlier in the thread was adopted by other forums for very good reasons.

  9. Excellent synopsis Georgiaboy61. If you were born in ‘61 we are about the same age & mindset. Like Matt Bracken I too served in the military. My son who now has PTSD served three tours in Afghanistan. I regret encouraging him to go there. For what? Bunker busting and a long, drawn out hunt for Bin Laden which should have been priority #1 not toppling Sadam Hussein & sons in Iraq because they were going to trade their oil for a different currency.

So we keep our powder dry & guns loaded for a possible civil war and/or gun grab. Personally I’d rather be shot or wounded by a bullet than have a terrorist or psycho stab, run me over, blow me up, or throw acid st my face & body. All these atrocities are happening in Europe with IED explosions (Boston Marathon) & vehicular homicides (NYC bike path) occurring after 9-11 in the United States! Bottom line…be ready at all times Nationalists & Patriots. Know when to fight, flee, or hold the line!
