Peter Schiff: Why the Fed Won’t be Able to Rescue the Economy This Time Around

Peter Schiff has been saying that the Federal Reserve is going to take interest rates back to zero and launch another round of quantitative easing in order to reinflate the bubble economy after the next crash. The central bank successfully pulled this off after the 2008 crisis. By dropping rates to zero and holding them there for nearly a decade, and running three rounds of QE, the Fed has reinflated the real estate bubble, blown up a bond bubble and pumped up the stock market. But Peter said it’s not going to work the next time around. Instead, Fed monetary policy will tank the dollar and lead to an inflationary recession.

[Comment: The privately owned Fed does not want to rescue the economy. A planned crash is what they are seeking to achieve.]

A Grieving Father is Standing Trial for Criticizing a Judge on Facebook

A Michigan man was jailed last month on a $500,000 bond after writing critical posts on Facebook about the judge who denied him custody of his son. Jonathan Vanderhagen, 35, is now standing trial for malicious use of telecommunication services.

The saga began two years ago when Vanderhagen petitioned Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Rachel Rancilio for sole custody of his 2-year-old son, Killian. Vanderhagen argued that Killian’s biological mother was unfit to be Killian’s sole guardian. Judge Rancilio disagreed and the child’s mother was able to retain custody.

Shortly after the custody dispute, Killian passed away in his mother’s care from what authorities concluded was a preexisting medical condition.

Despite that conclusion, Vanderhagen believed that Killian would still be alive had he been granted custody. Since his son’s death in 2017, Vanderhagen has used his Facebook page to criticize Rancilio’s custody ruling. Those posts, none of which were deemed threatening by the police department that investigated them, landed Vanderhagen in jail.

Burger King Removes All Plastic Toys From Kids Meals

Burger King has removed all plastic toys from its children’s meals from today after two sisters started a petition.

The fast food chain says the move will save an estimated 320 tonnes of waste annually.

The plastic saved will be used to create new play areas and restaurant items, including interactive trays.

It said the decision was part of a wider commitment to reduce its use of plastic and was “spurred on” by sisters Ella, nine, and Caitlin McEwan, seven, who started a petition against Burger King and McDonald’s using plastic toys in children’s meals.

The Change.org petition the sisters from Southampton set up called on the burger giants to “think of the environment and stop giving plastic toys with their kids’ meals”.

By Its Own Definition Antifa is Fascist

Antifa’s founding can be traced back to 2007 in Portland and the Rose City Antifa group. Prior to 2016, the group’s activities were limited to harassing neo-Nazi gatherings and doxing white supremacists. But that changed in 2016 after the election of Donald Trump, when the group declared a national emergency.

Rose City Antifa has a website full of information about the group. In their FAQ (frequently asked questions) section, they admit that fascism can be difficult to define as all fascist movements do not have the same features. They utilize a definition of fascism that is based on a cluster of traits, so that a specific definition is never mentioned. While a movement may not have every one of these traits, if there is a preponderance (a specific number is never defined but we can believe that it’s two or more) then Antifa will classify that movement or group as fascist. By these criteria, Antifa clearly is fascist.

On the eve of a “global climate strike,” a new report revealed that none of the global warming doomsday predictions of the past 50 years have come true.

“Modern doomsayers have been predicting climate and environmental disaster since the 1960s. They continue to do so today,” said the analysis from the Competitive Enterprise Institute shared with Secrets.

“None of the apocalyptic predictions with due dates as of today have come true,” it added.

The report cites 30 predictions made by experts, government scientists, and global leaders, including former Vice President Al Gore and Britain’s Prince Charles.

Gun Control: Wrong Solution to the Wrong Problem

With their push for gun control, liberals are demanding that conservatives acquiesce to their solution for a problem they largely created.

But gun control is the wrong solution to the wrong problem. The actual problem is the growth of mental illness in American society. So the real question that must be answered before any realistic solution can be proposed is why mental illness is trending so noticeably upward.

One measure that shows this increase in mental illness is the significant rise in the number of suicides, which have been steadily climbing for the last couple decades. There were over 47,000 U.S. suicides in 2017, and it is only getting worse.

Gun Sales Jump 15.5 Percent in August as Dems Renew Push for Regulations

Background checks for gun sales, concealed-carry permits, and security spiked in August as congressional Democrats renewed their push for expanded gun control in the wake of several mass shootings.

The National Instant Criminal Background Check System recorded a 15.5 percent uptick in background checks last month, according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation.

The jump in gun sales appears to have been spurred by a desire to secure self-protection amid an epidemic of mass shootings in the U.S., before Congress potentially approves stricter gun-control measures such as an assault-weapons ban, universal background checks, or limits on ammunition.

Laura Loomer’s Lawsuit Forces Facebook to Admit it is a Publisher Despite Zuckerberg’s Lies to Congress (Video)

In May Facebook announced that it had banned several high-profile conservative personalities from their platform, including an incoming ban on the Facebook-owned Instagram.

They labeled conservatives “dangerous.”

Milo Yiannopoulos, Laura Loomer, and all accounts related to Alex Jones or Infowars (including Paul Joseph Watson) were the main targets of Facebook’s latest purge and were labeled ‘dangerous’ by the social media giant.

To draw away from criticism about only banning pro-Trump figures, Facebook also claimed to be taking action against Louis Farrakhan, the Hitler-loving Nation of Islam leader.

The company alleges that all individuals or accounts engaged in the following behaviors, according to a statement given to pro-censorship CNN reporter Oliver Darcy.

At the same time Facebook has been eliminating billions of page views to conservative publishers.

Laura Loomer took action and filed a lawsuit against far left Facebook.

Earlier this week Laura Loomer got Facebook to admit to being a publisher.

The Invisible Thread

by Diana West

I’m posting the link to my May 15, 2019 Red Thread radio interview with Sean Hannity and Gregg Jarrett (with thanks to Vlad Tepes) because I suddenly realized that this 10-plus minute segment from the beginning of the summer makes a nice bookend to a short passage I find in Andy McCarthy’s late-summer release, Ball of Collusion.

As some may recall, my three-way conversation with Hannity and Jarrett demonstrated what I have found to be a perplexing dynamic in Trump-Russia narratives: namely, an ever-present force field against the notion, even the evidence (as laid out in The Red Thread) that the intellectual history of the anti-Trump conspirators, from Comey to Ohr, from Brennan to Steele, and on and on, reveals open affinities for Marxist ideology, clear connections to communist movements and activities, which bind them all together in a skein of “red threads.”

The preferred consensus — ideology-free — is succinctly expressed in the Hannity interview by Jarrett, who, in answer to the question that guided my research (what motivated these top Washington officials to risk all in their lawless efforts to stop Trump?), stated that their motivation was personal, visceral, job-related. Had I one more soundbyte, I think I would have replied that none of these assuredly plausible motivations cuts the conspirators’ troubling ties with what old Soviet agit prop called “the socialist camp.”

I plan to read the McCarthy book. We are writing about the same events but it seems that we regard them with very different eyes. What I unravel in The Red Thread as an ideologically motivated conspiracy by subverters (if not “occupiers”) of our constiutional republic against a strongly (yea, vsicerally) anti-communist president, Andy McCarthy defines as a more conventional if “scandalous abuse of power” by the Obama administration.

He writes:…

Wrong Again: 50 Years of Failed Eco-Pocalyptic Predictions

Thanks go to Tony Heller, who first collected many of these news clips and posted them on RealClimateScience.

Summary

Modern doomsayers have been predicting climate and environmental disaster since the 1960s. They continue to do so today.

None of the apocalyptic predictions with due dates as of today have come true.

What follows is a collection of notably wild predictions from notable people in government and science.

More than merely spotlighting the failed predictions, this collection shows that the makers of failed apocalyptic predictions often are individuals holding respected positions in government and science.

While such predictions have been and continue to be enthusiastically reported by a media eager for sensational headlines, the failures are typically not revisited.

EU Court Declares Germany’s Highway Tolls Illegal

Drivers from other EU countries unfairly penalized

(ANSA-AP) — BERLIN, JUNE 18 — The European Court of Justice has ruled that highway tolls in Germany are illegal because they unfairly penalize drivers from other European Union countries. The Luxembourg court’s ruling Tuesday means Germany will have to drop or revise its highway toll system. The case was brought by Austria, which complained that the levies of up to 130 euros ($146) a year are discriminatory and therefore illegal under EU law. All motorists have to pay the toll according to their vehicle’s size and engine type, but German taxpayers can file for refunds. The European Commission initially rejected the toll system on similar grounds to those Austria cited in its court challenge, but later approved an amended version that was intended to address its concerns.

Italy: Mayor of Abuse-Case Town Sues Di Maio — Report

Bibbiano first citizen under house arrest in fostering probe

(ANSA) — Bologna, September 19 — The suspended mayor of a northern town at the centre of a child-abuse investigation has reportedly taken legal action against Foreign Minister and 5-Star Movement (M5S) leader Luigi Di Maio as well as against several other people.

Andrea Carletti, a member of the centre-left Democratic Party (PD), is under house arrest in relation to the probe into alleged malpractice by social workers in fostering cases in the town of Bibbiano in Emilia-Romagna.

Social workers are alleged to have coached and coerced kids into saying their parents were abusing them so that they could be entrusted to ‘friendly’ families for a profit, according to investigators.

The case has frequently been hit the headlines in recent months and sparked political rows. La Gazzetta di Reggio reported that Carletti has filed a complaint regarding 147 internet posts and emails considered offensive or of a threatening nature, including at least one by Di Maio.

The M5S leader posted a message about the case on Facebook in July.

“I don’t want to have anything to do with the PD,” it read.

“With the party that is part of the Bibbiano scandal, with children taken away from their families and even subject to electric shocks and sent to other families, with a PD mayor involved”. Since then the PD and the M5S have formed an alliance for a new government under Premier Giuseppe Conte after League leader Matteo Salvini pulled the plug on the first Conte executive last month.

More adaptive mosquitoes likely to kill millions in South America.

Remember the two-year experiment to release genetically modified mosquitoes into the wild to eradicate all the mosquitoes?

For years, we were all lectured by scientists and GMO pushers who insisted that genetically modifying male mosquitoes to be infertile would cause the termination of nearly all offspring as females mated with the GMO males. The result, we were told, would be a mass die-off of the mosquito population at large, saving human lives by avoiding the catastrophic effects of mosquito-borne disease.

Science would save us, in other words. And if we didn’t believe the hype, we were labeled “anti-science.”

At first, the experiment seemed to work. For the initial 18 months of the experiment carried out in Brazil — in which 450,000 genetically modified male mosquitoes were released into the wild — mosquito populations plummeted. But then something happened.

As published in the journal Nature, in a study entitled, “Transgenic Aedes aegypti Mosquitoes Transfer Genes into a Natural Population,” the very same modified genes we were told would never be passed to “in the wild” mosquito populations has, in fact, done exactly that.

Powered by these new genes (and combined with some behavioral adaptation explained below), the mosquito population surged back. Even worse, now the wild populations of mosquitoes in Brazil have these “mutant” genes which were combined from Cuba and Mexican mosquito populations, meaning these new gene-enhanced mosquitoes are now a kind of “super mutant” insect that may be resistant to all sorts of insecticides…

To summarize the findings of the study, this mad science GMO experiment managed to create a super mutant population of mosquitoes that now carry genes that are potentially tied to enhanced insecticide resistance, making them harder to kill than ever before.

[Comment: Wrong? Sure. The “helping to eradicate disease” was “the cover”. The real goal was to “harden” mosquitos to insecticides and so increase the spread of fatal diseases. From this point of view the “experiment” has been a great success.]

Humans are now so permanently sedentary, a company has developed a “wearable chair” that lets you sit down anywhere.

The chair appears to be about as comfortable as a squatty potty and looks absolutely ridiculous, but it lets you stare at your phone in a slightly more convenient way than standing up.

  1. Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani. What’s in a name?
When one looks at the reticence of the state to speak certain malefactors names, and their ill concealed glee at staging huge, instant circuses for others with less politically acceptable names ( right Jacinda? ), there does indeed seem to be something in a name.
If an individual named Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani came to me and said, ‘ I want unsupervised access to critical systems vulnerable to tampering, systems where the least [EXPLETIVE REDACTED] up will result in a large smoking hole ‘, I’d have to ask the question, ‘ and, you’re a muslim, right? So not sorry, Abdul, No. There’s the door. Sod off and swing your [ EXPLETIVE REDACTED ] lot. ‘
All aviation incidents, accidents and malfeasance has a clear, visible chain of events running from the long-pig luau back to the initial error, omission or bad assumption that caused the bodybag deployment event. This is what they teach us in Human Factors; so called because Human Factors can stop the slightly-used aircraft parts distribution before it happens, or they can accelerate the incipient crater to it’s inevitable conclusion.
If I hire, say, a violent, delusional meth addict to maintain my airliner, knowing the violent delusional meth addict is going to cause an incident or serious accident because the violent, delusional meth addict is; not to put too fine a point on it, a violent delusional meth addict…I’d go to jail, or have my hind legs litigated off in civil actions.
Given muslims know history and tendencies to chronic homicidal expressions of the joys of islam, I’d pull on that chain of events and stick a crottling fork in every single chair-warmer who said ‘ Ooooh! You’re a muslim who want’s at the airliners. Welcome aboard!’.
In a sane society, hiring that chuckle[EXPLETIVE REDACTED] in the first place would be criminal negligence.
As this is not a sane society, were I aboard that aircraft, I’d be hiring a beemer-load of lawyers and taking AA to civil court, from the HR roastie to the board of directors.

  2. ** decision to suspend parliament as a “huge mistake” because it has united Remainer MPs from different parties **

God forbid that a sensible non-pusillanimous decision should make the wet hanky brigade cross. Cross, I tell you!

I wonder if there’s a Gordian Knot moment here. Divorce certainly involves complexities of who’s the better parent, tax consequences, property division, and fractured human feelings. Got it. But . . . it is a form of taking care of business that needs to be taken care of. So, the status quo for Britain is a sick relationship to a imperious, deceptive, controlling, authoritarian nightmare with Big Plans for grinding individuals into the ground and attacking ancient liberties. Globalism on a smaller scale.

So, ANY action that severs ties to or rejects supranational organizations and brings political life back down to the local level is the correct action. Johnson and the Brexinauts get this in one way or another and bugger all those who wish to serve Brussels. If the latter combine across party so-called lines so be it. You then see the political realities shorn of their camouflage and the realities of that lot are ugly indeed.

The alternative is to take counsel of your fears and fret, “Oh, what will the Bremainers do if we do what in our hearts we want to do?”

“Sever uplinks. Strengthen local links.” The new 21st-c. marching orders for people weary of the arrogance of the beautiful people. Upstairs is the attic with Mia Farrow’s neighbors. Downstairs is the living room, the fireplace, the kitchen, the warmth and activity. Downstairs is life.

Reading Henry 5.0’s speech before the Battle of Waterloo is a good idea just now. It wasn’t about Oh, dear.
