Gates of Vienna News Feed 8/7/2019

The European Commission has sent another warning to Italy about the current government’s migration policies. Brussels is concerned that the new Italian law increasing legal penalties against migrant-ferry NGOs, and allowing the arrest of the vessels’ captains, may violate EU guidelines.

In other news, the High Court in Mumbai has ordered an end to the slaughter of sheep and goats in residential apartments during the Islamic festival of Eid al-Adha.

2019 Data Shows 51% of Mass Shooters Were Black, Only 29% Were White

Data from Mass Shooting Tracker, a source widely used by the media, reveals that 51% of mass shooters in 2019 were black, 29% were white, and 11% were Latino, contradicting the media narrative that white people are overrepresented in mass shootings.

Investigative journalist Daniel Greenfield gathered the crucial data which confirms that mass shootings are not a “white man’s” problem.

2nd Milwaukee Man Convicted of Attempting to Join ISIS Sentenced to 51/2 Years in Prison

MILWAUKEE — A second man federally charged in a case in which prosecutors said the men tried to join and fight for the Islamic State was sentenced to prison Wednesday, Aug. 7.

Yosvany Padilla-Conde was ordered to serve 66 months (5 1/2 years) in prison and 10 years’ supervised release. Prosecutors asked for a 235-month (19 1/2-year) term of imprisonment, to be followed by a life term of supervised release.

Federal prosecutors said Padilla-Conde, a Cuban national, agreed to assist Jason Ludke in an attempt to join ISIS by traveling from Wisconsin through Mexico to Syria and Iraq in order to work under ISIS’ direction and control.

Bernie Sanders Campaign: Don’t Blame us for Dayton; Blame Trump for El Paso

“Anyone who thinks that political change should come from the barrel of a gun is anathema to what Bernie has advocated for decades.”

The presidential campaign of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) has responded to reports that the gunman who committed a mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio, supported Sanders by denying any responsibility — but suggesting that President Donald Trump bears responsibility for the mass shooting in El Paso, Texas, the day before.

Breitbart News reported Sunday evening that a Twitter account linked to the Dayton, Ohio, shooter had been taken down, and included support for socialism and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). The Dayton Daily News reported Monday evening that the shooter had left-leaning political opinions and supported gun control. CNN reported Monday evening that the Twitter account had supported Sanders and it had expressed “extreme” left-wing views.

In a statement released Tuesday evening, veteran Sanders campaign aide Jeff Weaver said:

Boy Scouts Face New Sex Abuse Claims as Lawsuit Says Ex-Scout Was Assaulted ‘Hundreds’ of Times

A lawsuit announced Tuesday against the Boy Scouts of America alleges a former Scout was sexually abused as a young boy in the organization for years. The unnamed plaintiff is the latest in a long line of men who say they were raped and assaulted by pedophiles whose actions were ignored or covered up by the Boy Scouts.

More than 800 men have joined a movement called “Abused in Scouting,” started by a group of lawyers who worried that the Boy Scouts of America were planning to file for bankruptcy, cutting short the timeline for victims to bring sex abuse claims against the organization in court. Those attorneys filed a lawsuit Monday on behalf of one ex-Scout identified as “S.D.,” who said he was assaulted hundreds of times as a Boy Scout in Pennsylvania in the 1970s. The suit demands $50,000 in damages from both the Boy Scouts organization and the alleged abuser.

Dayton Mass Shooter Attended Antifa Rally Armed With Gun Similar to One Used in Massacre

Also wore Antifa head covering during protest.

The Ohio mass shooter attended an Antifa rally in May armed with a gun similar to the one used during the subsequent massacre in Dayton.

Betts, who killed nine people outside a nightclub on Saturday, attended an anti-KKK event on May 25 armed with a gun “which appeared to be similar in style to the one used in Sunday’s shooting,” local Ohio news outlet WHIO reported.

The gunman used a semi-automatic pistol during the attack that police say was modified to act like a rifle.

The shooter also “wore a bandanna covering part of his face and sunglasses,” during the protest, which is stereotypical Antifa garb.

Betts was likely alerted to the rally by far-left Antifa doxxing account called Antifash Gordon, according to a report by Big League Politics.

As we highlighted yesterday, Betts also performed for his death metal band wearing an Antifa-style black head mask.

‘Death Camps for Trump Supporters’ Fliers Posted in New York

So much for the tolerant left.

Numerous fliers that say “death camps for Trump supporters now!!!” have been posted on street posts and parking meters in Patchogue, New York.

The fliers feature the threatening text in red and a stylized image of Trump’s face as a skeleton.

The fliers were “hanging across the street from Stanley’s Bedding Furniture on East Main Street, between Maple Avenue and North Ocean Avenue,” according to MSN News.

Democrats Are the Ones Who Have Been Inciting Violence Against Their Political Opponents

The language of physical aggression is bellowed loud and clear from the political, cultural, journalistic, and academic classes of the Left. These aren’t vague, ambiguous slips of the tongue that can be explained away by context or poor phrasing. There is no dog whistling here. These are direct calls to violence. And this violence is being encouraged not by fringe lunatics who show up at baseball games to shoot congressmembers, but whom Dougherty refers to as the “political class.” Many of these examples were uttered when John Boehner, Mitt Romney, and John McCain were the face of the Republican Party, long before Trump rode down that escalator to declare his candidacy.

These threats are voiced by people who won’t throw the Molotov cocktails themselves but expect the friskier elements of their base to take the hints and do so. And they indeed do so, with relish and increasing brazenness. The growing violence on our campuses and in our streets is almost exclusively leftist and is a direct result of the green light being given to them by their leaders.

Dialing Back the Bloodshed

Like the Democrats, who think they have a monopoly on compassion and mourning, conservatives are heartbroken and disturbed by the recent mass shootings. Unlike the Democrats, conservatives wait for families to mourn and law enforcement to piece together the evidence before rushing to judgment. But Democrats couldn’t wait to spout off, politicizing the shootings moments after they happened, intending to capitalize on the carnage by laying blame at Trump’s feet, as well as yours and mine — while bodies were still warm. Have they no shame?

Falsely connecting Trump’s policies to hate and murder is so heinous and poses such a serious threat to the stability of this country that it is time for the President to address the nation from the Oval Office, calling out the Democrats and media — by name, headline, and quotation — and denouncing their attributions of racism, homophobia, and xenophobia to him, his administration, and the good people of America. Rather than allowing Democrats to throw opportunistic chum to their base to hype up the feeding frenzy, the President should take this opportunity to speak of unity and the need to focus on uncovering the underlying causes for these massacres.

Former FBI Official: Trump Ordered Flags Flown at Half-Staff to Honor Hitler

Weirdo counterintelligence guy seems to be feeding alt-right with conspiracy theories

In another bizarre performance on NBC news programming, former FBI Assistant Director for Counterterrorism Frank Figliuzzi claimed that President Trump may have ordered flags flown at half staff not to honor the victims of the Dayton and El Paso shootings, but rather to celebrate Adolf Hitler.

Figliuzzi explained the reasoning behind his conspiracy theory, claiming that date the flag is to be at half staff until, August 8 (8/8), is a neo-nazi calling sign because the eighth letter of the alphabet is H, which stands for Hitler, and 8/8 means ‘Heil Hitler.’

Yes, somehow it is even a white supremacist act now to have flags flying at half-staff in honor of victims of a white supremacist murderer.

Lets skip over the fact that Figliuzzi looks downright creepy, and blinks about a million times in that clip, as if he’s attempting to hypnotize the audience into believing his crackpot nutbaggery.

Remember that Alex Jones is BANNED from all social media, while Figliuzzi is PAID to spew this droolstack on a platform owned by NBCUniversal, one of the largest companies on the globe.

And it isn’t an isolated incident. Figliuzzi vomits out this kind of bile pile every day.

Earlier in the week, Figliuzzi described Trump as a ‘radicalizer’ for white supremacists, and directly compared him to an extremist Islamic cleric inspiring Muslims to commit acts of violent Jihad.

Google Chrome Hides www and https: // in the Address Bar Again

After installing Google Chrome 76, if you feel like something is missing from the address bar you would be correct. This is because Google has decided to once again to hide, or elide, the “www” subdomain and “https://” from the address.

When Chrome 69 was released in September 2018, Google decided to strip the “www” and “m” “trivial subdomains” from the URLs in the address bar. For example, when a user visited www.bleepingcomputer.com, the www would be stripped and displayed as bleepingcomputer.com instead.

These subdomains are classified as “trivial” because Google feels that it is not information that most people need to concern themselves with.

After a large outcry from users saying that www.bleepingcomputer.com and m.bleepingcomputer.com are not the same hostnames as www.bleepingcomputer.com, Google stopped hiding these subdomains.

Google, though, did state that on a later date they would once again hide the “www” subdomain, but would continue to the “m” subdomain.

[Comment: This is silly. Full information is necessary in this day and age to ensure you are visiting the site that you think you are visiting. Better to use the new edge browser which will be based on chromium. At this time edge will not be implementing this “feature.”]

Karen Armstrong and the Islamists

What do the Dalai Lama, a former nun, and a group accused of supporting terrorism have in common? All of them are connected to a multinational initiative to “help people adjust creatively to our globally interdependent world,” known as the Charter of Compassion. The former nun is prominent author and academic Karen Armstrong. In 2009, after receiving the prestigious $100,000 TED Prize, she, along with other members of the founding council, drafted the Charter for Compassion, advocating that those of all religions bind together to create a “global community.” The list of signatories of the charter reads like a “Who’s Who” of global superstars, including New Age guru Deepak Chopra, South African Anglican bishop Desmond Tutu, filmmaker David Lynch, actress Goldie Hawn, Oxford scholar Tariq Ramadan, the Dalai Lama, and singer Peter Gabriel, to name a few.

Even though the Charter for Compassion bills itself as a document to bind all of the religions of the world together around the concept of compassion, the charter seems far more interested in Islamic jurisprudence than true ecumenicalism.

For example, a section of the official website deals exclusively with Islamophobia and links to resources by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

CAIR has long been accused of promoting an Islamist ideology, and even U.S. Federal prosecutors have shown the group’s close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas, a designated terrorist organization. CAIR itself has been designated as a terror group by the United Arab Emirates.

Liberal Dem Financial Expert and “Shark Tank’s” Billionaire Investor “Mr. Wonderful” Praise Trump on China Trade Negotiations

Today, liberal Democrat Jim Cramer sang the praises of President Trump during this CNBC segment on tough trade negotiations with Communist China.

“Why do we need the Chinese at all?” Cramer asked. “Why don’t we just say, ‘Ya know what? Pound sand, Chinese. We don’t need your market. We don’t need your market. We don’t get much from you. We don’t care about what you do with Apple or Starbucks or Young China or whatever. Be our guest. Don’t let ‘em sell an IPO’s in this country.”

Mass Shootings: The Elephant in the Room

America desperately needs to have a conversation, and it’s very different than the one we have been having when reflecting on mass murders. Despite the hysteria that these events cause, there is no significant upwards trend. These crimes have been a part of the public sphere in the U.S. since the country’s inception. While most studies reflect the better-recorded data in the latter half of the 20th century, mass killings were just as prevalent in the 1920s and 30s, although the use of a firearm was less common.

Sometime in the last few decades, Americans have lost to ability to think rationally about mass killings. We are collectively trying to blame some other factor besides the individuals themselves. However, access to guns has never been cited as a reason for a mass shooting and mass killings share no correlation in ideology. No one political party, no one race or ethnicity, no one religion, etc. is a constant factor, but there are specific commonalities between mass shooters that are never widely discussed over the calls for gun control and party reform.

There are five stages that culminate in a perfect storm that leads to individuals committing these massacres (also known as the Levin & Madfis model). This is gravely important for our society to know, as identifying these factors can lead to prevention of these atrocities.

Max Blumenthal Exposes Joe Biden & Barack Obama as Fascists

The news-report that ought to terminate Joe Biden’s possibility of representing the Democratic Party as its nominee in the 2016 U.S. Presidential elections is Blumenthal’s July 28th “How Joe Biden’s privatization plans helped doom Latin America and fuel the migration crisis”. It exposes (according to Biden’s own brag) Biden’s key role in the Obama Administration’s (with almost 100% cooperation from both houses of Congress) imposition upon Honduras of a libertarian heaven of privatizing (to the aristocracy) whatever national assets hadn’t yet been privatized in that deeply corrupt and impoverished nation. This plan has been heaven for Honduras’s and America’s aristocrats, but anti-liberty hell for Honduras’s public, and Biden now says that he designed it. Everyone who is considering whether to vote for Joe Biden to represent Democrats in the upcoming U.S. Presidential election should read Blumenthal’s article, because it documents that the Democratic Party’s turn toward fascism will become complete if Biden does become the Party’s nominee. I won’t summarize Blumenthal’s article here, since I think that every Democratic Party voter needs to read it in order to know the real Joe Biden. However, I shall here supplement it, with important historical background:

The core of Biden’s plan has been privatization of public assets. Privatization was actually invented by the inventor of fascism, Benito Mussolini, in 1922-1925.

Politicizing Mass Shootings Shows the Left’s Psychotic Mentality

The Left is completely hypocritical labeling these two massacres as white terrorism. According to recent reports, there were 32 mass shootings while President Obama was president, but President Bush never castigated his successor. The Media is the Democrats and the Democrats are the Media. Both cry wolf all the time, and eventually nobody can take them seriously. The Media and Democrats care about one thing: excercising power; they don’t even care about the dead. Police say more than 30 people were killed this weekend by two gunmen in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, but did the national media also report that seven people were murdered in Chicago, and another 46 people injured in gun violence? No, they did not. More than 1,500 people have so far been shot in Chicago this year with 293 killed in a city run by Democrats that has the toughest gun control laws in the country.

How does the Left poison the debate?

Let’s look at some statistics. The number of deaths by homicide in 2017 was 17,284 — a little more than five per 100,000 people. But remove Democrat cities Baltimore, Detroit, New Orleans, and Chicago from the mix, and the homicide rate plummets to around two per 100,000 — in line with international averages. Interestingly, the murder rate in the United States has REMAINED CONSTANT for most of its entire history hovering between five and nine per 100,000 people. So, right now, we are on the bottom of that average. That means despite our violent, dysfunctional society, murder is at an historic low. By contrast, the number of people killed in 2017 by unintentional injury was 169,936. Do we ever consider outlawing unintentional injury?

Mass shootings are unfortunately not rare in the United States compared to the rest of the world, but to generalize them as the product of “white nationalism” is profoundly incorrect. In addition, the political climate is so poisoned by the Left that there is no trust to be had in “coming together” to limit these atrocities as we have attempted to solve other problems.

Student Pleads Guilty to Trying to Hack Trump’s Tax Returns

Before the 2016 election, two college students allegedly attempted to illegally obtain then-candidate Donald Trump’s tax returns.

Although the students were unsuccessful, one of the students involved, now 22-year-old Justin Hiemstra, pleaded guilty Tuesday to two misdemeanor charges for his involvement in the incident. Hiemstra could face up to two years in prison and a fine of up to $200,000, the Washington Post reported.

Hiemstra and the second student, Andrew Harris, had attended Haverford College and, according to the U.S. Justice Department, the two defendants allegedly used a Haverford computer lab to reset a password and open a fake federal financial aid application under a Trump family member’s name.

The Republicans Are Coming to Take Your Guns

There is no getting around the fact we’re getting the exact opposite of what we voted for

Gun confiscation is picking up steam among congressional Republicans in the wake of President Donald Trump’s call for “red flag” gun control laws which allow unelected government bureaucrats to seize people’s guns after arbitrarily deeming them a “threat” to themselves or others…

Americans came out of the woodwork in droves to vote for Donald Trump on a platform of building a wall, deporting illegal immigrants, ending stupid wars, reforming trade deals, being tough on crime and protecting gun rights.

We instead got record illegal immigration, significantly less deportations than Obama, massive tax cuts for Big Tech and Corporate America, the continuation of nearly all our previous wars and threats of new wars with Iran and Venezuela, Koch-Kushner criminal justice reform, a unilateral bump stock ban and now “red flag” gun seizure laws which blatantly violate the First, Second and Fifth Amendments.

The only high-profile figure addressing any of the real problems in our society and actually trying to get them solved is Tucker Carlson. If our government doesn’t collapse Soviet-style over the next four years we need to draft Tucker to run for 2024.

Tucker Carlson slamming the Democrat “vultures” using the tragedies this weekend against Trump:

“So 31 are dead tonight & the only thing these ppl can think about is how to terrify Americans into voting for them. These are our so-called political leaders, they’re disgusting.”

Tulsi Gabbard Slams Kamala Harris: Her “Entire Campaign is Based on a Lie”

Calls out dubious record of former Calif. AG

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) unleashed a fresh attack on fellow 2020 presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) by doubling-down on accusations she made during the most recent Democrat debate against the former California attorney general and her dubious record.

Gabbard shared video of a post-debate appearance she made on NBC, slamming Harris for effectively basing her campaign on being a ‘woke’ progressive while ruling with an authoritarian streak during her time in office.

“Kamala’s entire campaign is based on a lie — that as AG of California, she was a fighter for the oppressed and for criminal justice reform,” Gabbard wrote. “But her criminal justice record shows that her policies exemplified the worst aspects of our criminal justice system.”

White House Drafting Executive Order to Tackle Silicon Valley’s Alleged Anti-Conservative Bias

The White House is circulating drafts of a proposed executive order that would address allegations of anti-conservative bias by social media companies, according to a White House official and two other people familiar with the matter — a month after President Donald Trump pledged to explore “all regulatory and legislative solutions” on the issue.

None of the three would describe the contents of the order, which one person cautioned has already taken many different forms and remains in flux. But its existence, and the deliberations surrounding it, are evidence that the administration is taking a serious look at wielding the federal government’s power against Silicon Valley.

Dutch Officials, Police Won’t Enforce New “Burqa Ban” Law

The Netherlands have just banned the burqa, but enforcement is already an issue.

Maybe you believe someone should be able to wear as much clothing or as little clothing as possible, and to heck with what the state has to say.

But for the Dutch, faces must be uncovered in government buildings and on public transportation, and the ban includes ski masks and full-face helmets as well as the burqa and niqab.

Even though the law is now the law, officials are refusing to enforce the ban.

Make Italy Great Again: Inside Matteo Salvini’s National Populist Awakening

Guest post by Davide Quadri

Throughout Europe, a tide is growing that challenged the palaces of power in Brussels, a tide that looks like it will determine the future.

That tide has a young face, Italian deputy PM Matteo Salvini, who is showing the world that where there’s a will there’s a way; that the interest of the people comes first.

Salvini has restored dignity to the Italian people, a feeling of sovereignty and identity, after years of domination by Brussels and Berlin. With his fight against NGOs and human traffickers in the Mediterranean, he has given new faith to many young people who felt lost, tired, disheartened by politics as usual, sickened by the same old faces, and now are thrilled by a renewed political passion and joining his battle.

It has happened in Italy, and it’s happening throughout Europe, after the victories of Donald Trump and Eduardo Bolsonaro, as a new laboratory of national sovereignty and popular will. In the words of Donald Trump’s former guru and campaign manager Steve Bannon: “Italy is the great experiment of our time”.

Survey: Britons’ Faith in European Union Falls Amid Brexit Delay

British voters are less likely to trust the European Union than their counterparts on the continent and have experienced their sharpest increase in Euroscepticism since before the 2016 Brexit Referendum according to the EU’s own figures.

According to a major twice-annual Eurobarometer study of social and political sentiment across Europe conducted by the European Commission, 56 per cent of Britons “tend not to trust” the European Union, against just 29 per cent who do. The not-trusting figure for Spring 2019 rose three points since Autumn 2018, a period that encompassed the most fraught period of Brexit negotiations under former British Prime Minister Theresa May, and the cancellation of the March Brexit day that never happened.

British broadcasters such as Channel 4, which is owned by the public, are supposed to maintain a broadly neutral stance in their news and political coverage, and Ofcom received many complaints that Mr Snow’s comments appeared to have negative racist overtones.

YouTube Follows Amazon, Censors ‘Killing Europe’ Islam Documentary

YouTube blacklisted Killing Europe, a documentary about Islam and mass immigration in Europe that had previously been hosted on the platform for over a year, just days after Amazon Prime made the same decision.

Unlike Amazon, which said it censored the documentary due to “quality” concerns, YouTube accused the documentary — a critical examination of immigration in Europe — of violating its “hate speech” policy.

The documentary is a mix of on-the-ground footage and interviews, including interviews with ex-Muslims, British politicians, and victims of the notorious Rotherham rape epidemic.

“This is America, not Canada and not Europe — we’re supposed to have free speech,” said director Michael Hansen in a video message to his subscribers. “So why is it that they’re working so hard to [pull] my movies down?”

Supporters of the documentary have since uploaded it to BitChute, a decentralized free-speech oriented YouTube competitor.

How Joe Biden’s Privatization Plans Helped Doom Latin America and Fuel the Migration Crisis

On the campaign trail, Joe Biden has boasted of his role in transforming Colombia and Central America through ambitious economic and security programs. Colombians and Hondurans tell The Grayzone about the damage his plans did to their societies.

By Max Blumenthal

While campaigning for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination this year, former Senator and Vice President Joseph Biden has touted the crucial role he played in designing US mega-development and drug war campaigns that transformed the socio-political landscape of large swaths of Latin America.

“I was one of the architects of Plan Colombia,” Biden boasted in a July 5 interview with CNN, referring to the multi-billion dollar US effort to end Colombia’s civil war with a massive surge of support for the country’s military. According to Biden, the plan was a panacea for Colombia’s problems, from “crooked cops” to civil strife.

But Biden’s plan for Colombia has contributed directly to the country’s transformation into a hyper-militarized bastion of right-wing rule, enhancing the power and presence of the notoriously brutal armed forces while failing miserably in its anti-narcotic and reformist objectives.

EU Divided: Brussels Sends Italy Warning Over Migrant Rescue Law

THE EUROPEAN Commission sent a thinly veiled warning to Italy’s populist leaders on Tuesday, saying it would have to look into whether a controversial new law targeting charities operating migrant rescue ships was in breach of EU rules.

Migrant arrivals to Italy have all but dried up since the populist government took power last year, clamping down on illegal immigration and tightening the country’s asylum rules. The Commission will “analyse” the new legislation in order to “verify whether it is compatible with European law,” a spokesperson for the bloc’s executive said shortly after the decree was approved by senators in a major victory for Interior Minister Matteo Salvini and his far-right League party. The decree drafted by Mr Salvini, who also serves as deputy prime minister, hardens sanctions on humanitarian ships that seek to bring migrants rescued in the Mediterranean to Italy instead of taking them back to Libya, the main jumping off point for African migrants hoping to reach Europe.
