When police attempted to serve a narcotics warrant at a residence in Philadelphia, they were met with sustained gunfire from at least one of the suspects. Four officers were wounded by gunshots, and two others were injured in a traffic accident related to the incident. At least one suspect was eventually arrested.
In other news, Muslims who slaughtered sheep in a Bologna parking lot for Eid al-Adha are being investigated for animal cruelty.

Germany on Brink of Recession as Economy Shrinks in Q2
Germany’s gross domestic product (GDP) fell by 0.1% compared with the previous quarter, according to the Federal Statistics Office released today.
It takes Germany’s annual growth rate down to 0.4%. Germany, Europe’s largest economy, narrowly avoided a recession last year. Worryingly, this is the a second contraction in four quarters.
If the German economy declines again in Q3 (July — September), it will have entered a technical recession, which it narrowly avoided in 2019.

Epstein’s Guards Falsified Records to Say They Had Checked on Him
Latest explanation pushes ‘incompetence’ angle.
The latest explanation as to why Jeffrey Epstein’s “suicide” was not prevented is that his guards were asleep for the 3 hours before it happened and later falsified records to make it look as if they had checked on Epstein.
“The two staff members in the special housing unit where Mr. Epstein was held — 9 South — falsely recorded in a log that they had checked on the financier, who was facing sex trafficking charges, every 30 minutes, as was required,” reports the New York Times.
The guards had in fact “been asleep for some or all of the three hours,” according to the report.
It was during this three hours that Epstein allegedly hanged himself using bedsheets (described as not much stronger than paper by a former inmate), from a bunk bed.
However, some contend that the whole incompetence angle now being pushed by the media is simply a distraction from what really happened.
“Ladies and gentlemen, have we found our patsies?” asked Zero Hedge.
As we reported yesterday, shrieking and shouting was heard from Jeffrey Epstein’s cell on the morning he died, while one of Epstein’s guards at the Metropolitan Correctional Center was not a regular corrections officer.
Epstein’s cell mate had also been removed the night before, meaning there was no one to witness the “suicide.”

Jeffrey Epstein had a bizarre portrait of Bill Clinton in a dress hanging in his Manhattan mansion, DailyMailTV can reveal.
The picture depicting the former president apparently lounging on a chair in the Oval Office, wearing red heels and posing suggestively in a blue dress redolent of Monica Lewinsky was in a room off the stairway of the Upper East Side townhouse.
The dress is also strikingly similar to one worn by Hillary Clinton at the 2009 Kennedy Center Honors.
The original painting is called ‘Parsing Bill’ and is by Australian-American artist Petrina Ryan-Kleid, although it is unclear if Epstein had bought the canvas or had a print mounted. Ryan-Kleid exhibited for her degree show when she graduated with an MFA in 2012 from the New York Academy of Art.

Greater Blood Pressure Control Linked to Lower Dementia Risk
Current standard for healthy pressure falling short
For adults with high blood pressure, greater blood pressure control than what’s currently considered standard is associated with fewer adverse changes of the brain, which could mean lower risks of dementia and cognitive impairment, according to new research published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
Specifically, the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) study of 449 adults showed that those with high blood pressure who achieved systolic blood pressure of less than 120 mm Hg — known as “intensive” blood pressure control — had a small but significantly lower amount of white matter lesions on their brain but a slightly greater decrease in brain volume than similar patients who achieved the current standard for healthy blood pressure of 140 mm Hg.
“The great news from this research is that high blood pressure is a treatable condition, and if you treat high blood pressure aggressively, you could have a positive benefit on cognition and brain structure,” said R. Nick Bryan, M.D., Ph.D., chair and professor of the Department of Diagnostic Medicine at Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin.

As the video below illustrates, when you search for “paul joseph watson youtube channel” on Google, my YouTube channel doesn’t even appear on the first page of results. Nor do any of my videos.
My channel doesn’t even appear on the first 15 pages of search results. I didn’t check beyond that, but it’s totally buried.
Searching directly for the exact title of videos on YouTube itself also just returns a wall of non-related mainstream media results.
Google has literally broken its own search engine to ensure people cannot find my channel.

A diarrhea-causing bacterium is evolving into a new species, one that thrives on your sugar-rich Western diet, according to a new study.
The Clostridium difficile bacteria produce spores that spread through contact with feces, and so can commonly be found in bathrooms or on surfaces that people touch without properly washing their hands. What’s more, this bacterium is becoming increasingly resistant to disinfectants used in hospitals, said study lead author Nitin Kumar, a senior bioinformatician at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute.
Patients taking antibiotics face the greatest risk of developing diarrhea from C. difficile, because antibiotics clear away healthy gut bacteria that typically fight off the infection, Kumar told Live Science.

Tim Burchett of Tennessee Reportedly Files Bill Going After Antifa
U.S. Congressman Tim Burchett, a Republican representing Tennessee’s Second Congressional District, has reportedly filed legislation to go after the group Antifa.
This, according to the Nashville-based FOX 17, which said Burchett has introduced the “Unmasking Antifa Act.”
“The bill would issue fines and/or imprisonment for up to 15 years for any individual who wears a mask or disguise while committing a crime, including threatening or intimidating another individual exercising their constitutional rights or privileges,” the station reported.
Burchett reportedly said Antifa members are “cowards.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi outlined her plan to expand Democrat control in Congress months ago, and it’s clear the scheme is coming to fruition.

Whistleblower: Google Wants to Overthrow United States Via Election Tampering
Says something dark & nefarious going on
A Google insider who anonymously leaked internal documents to Project Veritas made the decision to go public in an on-the-record video interview. The insider, Zachary Vorhies, decided to go public after receiving a letter from Google, and after he says Google allegedly called the police to perform a “wellness check” on him.

Along with the interview, Vorhies asked Project Veritas to publish more of the internal Google documents he had previously leaked. Said Vorhies:
“I gave the documents to Project Veritas, I had been collecting the documents for over a year. And the reason why I collected these documents was because I saw something dark and nefarious going on with the company and I realized that there were going to not only tamper with the elections, but use that tampering with the elections to essentially overthrow the United States.”…
After having been identified by an anonymous account (which Vorhies believes belongs to a Google employee,) on social media as a “leaker,” Vorhies was approached by law enforcement at his residence in California. According to Vorhies, San Francisco police received a call from Google which prompted a “wellness check.”
Vorhies described the incident to Project Veritas:
“they got inside the gate, the police, and they started banging on my door… And so the police decided that they were going to call in additional forces. They called in the FBI, they called in the SWAT team. And they called in a bomb squad.”
“[T]his is a large way in which [Google tries to] intimidate their employees that go rogue on the company…”
Partial video of the incident was provided to Project Veritas. San Francisco police confirmed to Project Veritas that they did receive a “mental health call,” and responded to Vorhies’ address that day.

In May, Canada launched a so-called Digital Charter, meant to promote “trust in a digital world”. The charter contains ten principles, three of which deal with “hate speech and disinformation”.

Denmark Mulls Tighter Border Checks With Sweden After Copenhagen Bombing
A Swedish man has been arrested and an arrest warrant issued for another over the bombing of a government agency in Copenhagen. Denmark said it was considering strengthening border controls with Sweden in response.
Police in Denmark said on Wednesday that a 22-year-old Swedish man had been arrested in connection with an explosion that damaged the headquarters of the Danish Tax Agency.
Police said an international arrest warrant had also been issued for a 23-year-old man, also from Sweden.
Copenhagen Police Chief Inspector Joergen Bergen Skov said the arrest was made Tuesday by Swedish police, adding that a car believed to have been used in connection with the blast was seized.

Germany: Jewish Man Attacked in Berlin
German police are looking for two men who attacked a man wearing Jewish clothing while he was walking in Berlin. The number of violent anti-Semitic attacks in Germany has increased between 2017 and 2018.
German authorities have launched an investigation after two men attacked a Jewish man who was walking through Berlin on Tuesday night.
Police said on Wednesday that the 55-year old was approached from behind and was struck in the back, as he was walking in the Charlottenburg district of the German capital.
A police statement said the victim was of Jewish faith and was wearing clothes that identified him as Jewish.

Hungary 2019 Growth Could be Around 4.3-4.4%, Finance Minister Tells Newswire
BUDAPEST, Aug 14 (Reuters) — Hungary’s 2019 economic output growth could be around 4.3-4.4% according to a conservative estimate, state news agency MTI quoted finance minister Mihaly Varga as saying on Wednesday.

3 Foreign Nationals Convicted of Gang Raping 14-Year-Old Swedish Girl
A Somali-Swedish dual national and two Lithuanians have been convicted by a Swedish court for raping a 14-year-old girl after they had lured her to meet up with them over the social media app SnapChat.
19-year-old Abukar Ahmed Mohamed, a Somali-Swede, is said to have first made contact with the teenage girl over Snapchat. According to a report from Nyheter Idag, 36-year-old Mindaugas Siaulys paid Mohamed to facilitate the sex with the 14-year-old girl.
Siauly and Mohamed, along with 56-year-old Aleksandras Makéjévas, picked the teen up in a vehicle and told her that they would be headed Borlänge’s city center. Instead the group of men drove the 14-year-old to a residential building.

Germany: 76-Year-Old Among Victims of Weekend Sex Attacks by ‘Foreign Men’
A 76-year-old is among the victims of attacks and sexual assaults by ‘foreign’ male suspects during the weekend across Germany, according to local media.
In Schleswig-Holstein, an elderly woman, 76, was reportedly harassed by a man with a “southern appearance” before he violently groped her and inflicted injuries that required hospitalization.
“The suspect was a man who may already have been known to the police for similar crimes,” a police spokesperson told Junge Freiheit.
In Hanover, police arrested two Afghan men who were suspected in the rape of a 38-year-old woman while on her way home from a laundromat at night.

Muslim Migrants Who Slaughtered a Sheep in Bologna Parking Lot Being Investigated for Animal Cruelty
Italian authorities are investigating two Tunisian migrants for animal cruelty after they slaughtered a sheep in a public parking lot.
