A Troika of Videos From Modern Multicultural Germany

Below are three unrelated videos from Germany that have accumulated over the past few days, all with subtitling by Vlad Tepes.

Video #1: A blast from the past. This brief clip shows remarks made by Chancellor Angela Merkel back in 2015 about her vision of what eventually became the Great Migration Crisis.

Many thanks to Oz-Rita for the translation:

Video #2: In a refreshing change of pace, this video op-ed begs politicians to impose punitive taxes to discourage consumers from, well, consuming.

Video #3: Angry Germans who have had enough of cultural enrichment. Many thanks to MissPiggy for the translation:

Video transcript #1:

00:00   WHAT NOW? Finally back to the question: what does this refugee crisis mean for your
00:05   political destiny, Mrs. Merkel? Willy Brandt, Helmut Schmidt, Helmut Kohl asked
00:09   for a vote of confidence in the Bundestag when the heat was on. Gerhard Schröder even twice.
00:13   For you, in the times of the Grand Coalition, it is perhaps not a matter of
00:17   parliamentary majority, not yet, but in your own party you have to fight
00:21   already, as we have noticed in recent weeks. At the CDU Party Conference in Karlsruhe
00:25   in December, will you ask for some kind of vote of confidence
00:29   in your “Welcoming Policy”? It’s not about a vote of confidence,
00:33   this is about me actually fighting, fighting for the way that I
00:37   imagine, for my plan which I have, starting with the causes for flight
00:41   making legality out of illegality and
00:45   standing up for it with all my might… yes!
00:49   making legality out of illegality…making legality out of illegality…

Video transcript #2:

00:00   Not another annoying environmental topic! The Earth Is Overloaded Day.
00:05   We had that already last year and the year before that. And before that and so on.
00:09   It is always the same sermon. As if humans are living beyond their means, and we’re using up all
00:14   the resources faster than they are replenished or that those of us living in industrialised nations
00:19   use more than the people in Africa. OK. Understood. And now?
00:23   This evening I had a nice piece of meat on the grill.
00:28   I do that often. On business trips I take the train,
00:32   but in my free time I use my car. I also fly around the globe
00:36   because I like to dive and love coral reefs.
00:40   I don’t throw away clothes that are still like new and I don’t need
00:43   a new smart phone every two years. However, if I point at you,
00:47   three fingers are pointing back at me.
00:50   I’m a consumer junkie, and if you aren’t, then you can be happy.
00:54   The question is, why am I not ashamed?
00:59   Maybe it’s because consuming is fun; it is rewarding, enjoyable and nearly everyone does it.
01:06   And then there’s the constant new reports, like today,
01:10   that we consumer junkies behave like an ax in a forest.
01:14   Everyone knows: Addicts need help. The problem is that no doctor can heal environmentally damaging
01:21   consumer addiction. Only brave politicians can. So here’s my request:
01:28   Please make meat, driving a car, and flying so damn expensive that we kick the habit immediately.
01:33   Please, do it quickly, then we will vote for you all.

Video transcript #3:

00:00   (Freising, July 26, 2019) Just deport this a**hole already! He doesn’t belong in Germany!
00:05   (Destroyed 3 taxis with tree branch) He belongs on the next plane taking him back to his country.
00:09   (Police) We can’t do anything about that. —Every day, we have the same s*** with him.
00:19   Look at all the damage done to all the taxis! —Look at my car! Unbelievable!
00:24   He destroyed them all! —Just calm down a bit! —Go away! What do you want?
00:29   Go away. Just go away! —You just be quiet. —Go away.
00:34   Come on, boy! —And you complain about Germany. A**hole.

  1. ” impose punitive taxes to discourage consumers from, well, consuming.”
so why are they importing more consumers from the third world where consumption is lower?

    – these people make absolutely no sense to me.

  2. Having lived in Germany and married a German, I find Germans to be bat[ordure]
crazy. It took me a long time to discover this. Smart Germans leave and many have including some of my ancestors. I pray for Germany and Western Europe in general but there is something to the book: “Deutschland schafft sich ab” – (“Germany abolished itself”) that may be just the end of the place.

Remember, this is the country that from the late 1920’s to 1933 gave you three choices in elections for the most part; Run of the Mill Socialists (SPD), Internnational Socialists (Communists) or National Socialists (Nazis). Sorry, but to me that reeks of bat[ordure] crazy.

Incidentally, I lived in an area that was Catholic and voted Center Party in every election so when I was spy in Germany in the 1960’s I was in semi-rational Germany and therefore still have fond memories and thus hope.

If I could sum up Germany in a sentence it would be: Germans by their nature are consensus seekers and therefore Gleichschaltung was so easy to swallow as is their recent national and therefore total adoption of “Green Environmentalism.”

    • Sounds like the Swedes.

I heard British Labour MP Gisela Stewart (German-born, married to a Brit) say some years back that once Germans decide on a course of action, they are disinclined to change, even in the face of contrary evidence.
