A Secret Message for the Ummah?

Our Hungarian correspondent László proposes an intriguing hypothesis about a detail in the latest jihad poster propagated by the Islamic State.

A Secret Message for the Ummah?

by László

I think it is possible that one new ISIS poster contains a somewhat hidden / secret message for the Ummah. This Jihad Watch post contains the picture (published by Memri) of a suicide belt with a number (6:39). That may refer to Koran 6:39. [The image at the top of this post contains a detail from the poster. See Jihad Watch for the complete graphic.]

I know this assumption and the following conclusions may be a bit far-fetched (but still at least entertaining, I hope). But it may have its own wartime Islamic logic and function — that I will elaborate on at the end of this post.

I think the main function of planting the Koran 6:39 on a poster could be that of a hidden signature of ISIS, as well as a message to awaken and gather the Ummah, and take the Jihad to a whole new level globally.

The following is my analysis, in which I am attempting to decipher the meaning of the hidden message from the surrounding verses of 6:39 below (verses 6:37-6:41):

If my assumption that the (6:39) number means a Koran verse is right, then there really is a message on the poster, which is in fact somewhat hidden. So verse 6:37 may even refer to the “hidden signal” itself on the suicide belt in the picture — a reference that most of the filthy Kuffar will not understand. This verse therefore can be the key (“under the doormat”) that opens and the meaning by authenticating the rest of poster (emphasis added):

6:37

And they say, “Why has a sign not been sent down to him from his Lord?” Say, “Indeed, Allah is Able to send down a sign, but most of them do not know.

Here is the main message: it calls for the Ummah to gather under the “umbrella brand” of Islam:

6:38

And there is no creature on [or within] the earth or bird that flies with its wings except [that they are] communities like you. We have not neglected in the Register a thing. Then unto their Lord they will be gathered.

So in this context, the deaf and dumb in verse 6:39 is itself the wake-up call to the Ummah. And at the same time 6:39 is also a disparagement of the dumb kuffar who will not understand this message anyway. This number is on the suicide belt:

6:39

But those who deny Our verses are deaf and dumb within darknesses. Whomever Allah wills — He leaves astray; and whomever He wills — He puts him on a straight path.

6:40

Say, “Have you considered: if there came to you the punishment of Allah or there came to you the Hour — is it other than Allah you would invoke, if you should be truthful?”

6:41

No, it is Him [alone] you would invoke, and He would remove that for which you invoked Him if He willed, and you would forget what you associate [with Him].

And this verse reveals the underlying strategic goal: to destroy the economy of the West and grab the power on its ruins:

6:42

And We have already sent [messengers] to nations before you, [O Muhammad]; then We seized them with poverty and hardship that perhaps they might humble themselves [to Us].

Of course the question arises: why would there be any need to send a secret / hidden message, while ISIS is sending very open messages as well through its magazine and news agency? One possible answer to that may be the issue of authenticity for ISIS. The secret, Koranic message can be a kind of “seal” or “signature” of ISIS that certifies the open message sent to the Muslims all over the world. This way this ISIS poster can become a real, independently functioning jihadist “meme” — based on the Koran — with no need for any other medium whatsoever. And so this meme performs the whole mysterious “radicalization process” in itself and by itself. No further need for “radicalization by the internet / newspapers / poverty” and all the other lies.

  1. The wording of translations of Quran passages often provokes in the reader a reaction of “Who the hell wrote this crap?” The problem of unclear wording seems to lie with an incompetent author, not with an incompetent translator. In Quran 6:39, we have “Whomever Allah wills — He leaves astray; and whomever He wills — He puts him on a straight path.” Shouldn’t “leaves astray” be “leads astray”? Let’s look at a few more translations of this same passage:

    Pickthall
Those who deny Our revelations are deaf and dumb in darkness. Whom Allah will sendeth astray, and whom He will He placeth on a straight path. [That’s not even a sentence.]

    Sahih Intl
But those who deny Our verses are deaf and dumb within darknesses. Whomever Allah wills – He leaves astray; and whomever He wills – He puts him on a straight path.

    Yusuf Ali
Those who reject our signs are deaf and dumb,- in the midst of darkness profound: whom Allah willeth, He leaveth to wander: whom He willeth, He placeth on the way that is straight.

This idea could be expressed more clearly, perhaps as “Allah chooses whom to lead astray, and whom to lead on a straight path.”

  2. Plausible catch and analysis, their, Lazlo. I think you are right on, well done, and good enough to bank on. Pickthall has traditionally been the most approved of the Sunni college Al Azar types, but some others are good, also.

Might also involve time, as that would be around peak traffic local time, in Western countries, in any setting or air transport. Possible dual meaning, or something else, possible too.

Device on backpack appears to be traditional explosive pack device, doesn’t mean that’s all it is. Might be symbolic of “bomb”, of another type. It is exposed, with an enclosable backpack underneath, suggesting to be unseen backpack device.

Note the background setting is typical transport in very large city centers, a cab, uber, lyft etc. Seems likely significant. Any muslim massive defeat anniversaries coming up soon, this month, next month, of similar significance to 911, 1683? Also dates like 10-7 Leponto (Crusade), 10-10 of Tours-Poitiers. There were more, lesser import ones. Even potential winning dates of significance. A good place for “digs” to begin. Also significance in writing on hat, (glyphs). Any arab speakers, try translating.

ID the stars on cab or other details, as to what city, may have significance. Maybe warning to ummah, or notice to developed moles. I hope some agency that may be pro-American, notices and does a high power analysis, at least by people who have studied well the details of islam, as I. I lack the arab language skill, other than lan astaslem, and abd…. I know 1400 years of the worthless cult, and its trail of upwards of 2/3 billion slain, globally.

A pro at this, can do more analysis, just a starter by me.

  3. The other photo includes pix’s, of Big Ben, and what looks to be Notre Dame, and other unidentified city. Story mentions three big cities.

Sorry spelling on Laszlo, got it now!!!

  4. I am paying attention to this type of things as well. Last Thanksgiving, when traveling from NH to VA, I saw a SUV with this license plate: OG BOO. Nonsense. Gibberish. A joke. What if, I thought, G were 6 and B were 8 ? 06 800. Hmm. So, then, I tried backwards, because Arabic came to mind:

008 60. “Against them make ready.” MB motto. And it could have been a TOTAL COINCIDENCE if it wasn’t for the nice sticker with Egyptian flag on the rear window… (Egypt being the very place where Muslim Brotherhood was founded.)
