California Hit With Massive Aftershock Following 6.4 Quake; USGS Warns of More to Come
More than 170 aftershocks have been recorded following a 6.4-magnitude earthquake centered near Ridgecrest, southern California — the most powerful earthquake to hit the state in nearly 20 years.
One of the aftershocks was recorded at 5.4 magnitude, striking just northeast of Ridgecrest at 4:07 a.m. on Friday, according to the USGS, which says that there’s a 20% chance of an earthquake of magnitude 6 or higher occurring in the next week, and an 80% chance of a magnitude 5 or higher quake, according to ABC15.

CNN’s Collapse Symptomatic of Entire Mainstream Media’s Problem
CNN’s breathtaking decline in its audience following the release of the Mueller Report is symptomatic of the problem facing the entire mainstream media: CNN assumed that President Trump was guilty of all manner of offences involving collusion with Russia during his campaign for the presidency in 2016. The network was the head cheerleader of that parade, but following the release of the Mueller Report the entire mainstream media has suffered a mighty, perhaps fatal, blow to its claim of journalistic integrity.
CNN’s decline in its audience is simply staggering. In April Nielsen reported that its prime time ratings dropped 26 percent from a year earlier, while in its most coveted 25— to 54-year old demographic (which drives advertising revenue) it lost 41 percent of its audience.
The decline extended into the second quarter, with CNN’s 25-54 demographic suffering a 37 percent decline compared to the second quarter of 2018.

Left Amps up Justifications for Violence Against Their Political Opponents
The left’s new extremism condones assaulting conservatives in public. Antifa’s attack on a journalist is yet another example that our norms have changed.
In the past year, nearly a dozen members of the Trump administration and conservative lawmakers have been chased out of restaurants and pelted with milkshakes, not for causing civil disruption, but simply for being in public. The new rules being touted so strongly by the media aren’t limited to lawmakers and cabinet members any longer, however. Milkshakes, harassment, and public shaming are now excused penalties for anyone who doesn’t fully subscribe to their ideology.
In that vein, any journalist critical of policies now considered by the left to be nothing short of moral imperatives would also be unwelcome in the public square and therefore a complicit “fascist.” After the shocking moment in Thursday night’s Democratic debate when all ten candidates raised their hands in favor of unlimited taxpayer-provided health care for illegal immigrants, noted Trump critic Andrew Sullivan suggested their extreme position could cost them the election. He was quickly labeled on social media as a Trump apologist and racist.
Then there was the attack on journalist Andy Ngo this weekend in Portland, Oregon, by Rose City Antifa. While the extreme left continues to tout their new rules of civility as being merely “peaceful protests,” Ngo was targeted and brutally attacked by black-mask-wearing members of an extremist organization. As Antifa pelted Ngo with fists, milkshakes, and other objects, stealing his camera and phone as he lay bleeding on the ground, police stood idly by under directives of a very liberal mayor in a very liberal city. Just three arrests were made. Ngo was hospitalized with a brain bleed.
Ngo, who is openly gay, is an editor for Quillette, a magazine that stays in the center politically but often publishes articles that fall outside of the “correct way” of thinking as laid out by extreme progressives. The new rules seem to ban any contradicting thought from public life, and if peaceful protesting doesn’t make people fall in line, then more forceful, violent methods now have received the green light.

A woman is facing up to 20 years in prison for “tampering with a consumer product” after a video of her opening a gallon of Blue Bell ice cream, licking it, then putting it back into the grocery store freezer went viral on social media.
According to Blue Bell, staff recognized where the “malicious act of food tampering took place.”
Blue Bell said they removed all the “Tin Roof” gallons of ice cream from the freezer of the San Antonio Walmart “out of abundance of caution.”
“The safety of our ice cream is our highest priority, and we work hard to maintain the highest level of confidence of our customers,” Blue Bell said in its statement. “Food tampering is not a joke, and we will not tolerate tampering with our products. We are grateful to the customers who alerted us and provided us with information.”
Police are confident that they have identified the woman from surveillance video and will be issuing an arrest warrant shortly.

Vox Celebrates July 4th by Saying the “American Revolution Was a Mistake”
“We should be mourning the fact that we left the United Kingdom”
Far-left website Vox chose to commemorate July 4th by saying the American revolution was a “mistake” and that the country would have been better off staying under British control.
The reason? Because ‘racism’, or something.
“This July 4, let’s not mince words: American independence in 1776 was a monumental mistake. We should be mourning the fact that we left the United Kingdom, not cheering it,” writes Dylan Matthews.
Matthews claims that slavery would have been abolished earlier if America had lost the revolutionary war, failing to realize that the country would still be under the colonial enslavement of Great Britain — the very reason for going to war in the first place.
He also asserts that American Indians would have been spared the “outright ethnic cleansing Andrew Jackson and other American leaders perpetrated,” conveniently forgetting the fact that Native American tribes were slaughtering each other long before they had any contact with whites.
But Matthews’ main reason for wanting to stay under British yoke is, you guessed it, his self-loathing racism towards white people.
“The main benefit of the revolution to colonists was that it gave more political power to America’s white male minority,” he writes.
Salon also leapt onto the America-loathing bandwagon, declaring, “The Declaration of Independence is sexist, racist, prejudiced.”
It used to be somewhat of a cliché to say that liberals hate America, but their recent behavior only confirms that is now very much the case.

Wikipedia Co-Founder Slams Zuckerberg, Big Tech for “Appalling” Internet
“They can control what you see”
Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger has slammed Facebook and Twitter for abusing their power to create an “appalling” Internet while advocating “decentralized” social networks as the solution.
“They can shape your experience, they can control what you see, when you see it and you become essentially a cog in their machine,” Sanger told CNBC.
Sanger said that it was “appalling frankly” how the Internet had developed since 2001, with companies exploiting users’ data to make vast profits at the cost of “massive violations” of privacy.
He directly called out Mark Zuckerberg as being “too controlling” and having no idea about “bottom up” networks.
“The internet wouldn’t have been created by people like Mark Zuckerberg, or any of the sort of corporate executives in Silicon Valley today,” said Sanger.
Sanger’s solution, outlined in his Declaration of Digital Independence, is that these “vast digital empires” need to be replaced by networks of decentralized individuals.
This would return the Internet to becoming “freer,” the very foundation on which it was created in the first place, according to the Wikipedia co-founder.

Woman Who Licked Ice Cream and Put it Back in Viral Video Faces Up to 20 Years in Prison

Author: Sweden is Experiencing a “Small Scale War”
Blaming “frustrations” of young people isn’t good enough
Swedish author Björn Ranelid warns that the level of crime and violence the previously sedate country is experiencing amounts to a “small scale war”.
Ranelid cites car fires which were previously unknown but have now become commonplace across the country along with an explosion in shootings.
The author said that blaming the “frustrations” of young people for the crime wave was a cop out since his generation had it just as touch but didn’t turn to criminality.
“They lived crowded in outdated apartments and the economy of many families was poor, but none of my hundreds of acquaintances, friends and playmates burned cars, robbed old people or wore weapons,” he wrote.
According to Ranelid, the country is in dire need of a a “spiritual revolution” of ethics, morality and child raising.
“It is a small-scale war that affects all people who live and live in Sweden. The supply of explanations is over,” said Ranelid…
Deadly shootings in Sweden have also risen by a factor of 10 in one generation, exacerbated by witness intimidation and “a code of silence in the country’s socio-economically weak immigrant areas,” according to Quillette’s Paulina Neuding.

Europol 2018 Stats: 24 Jihadist Attacks, 19 Left-Wing, Only 1 Right-Wing

New stats from Europol covering 2018 emphasize once again how jihadist and left-wing terror is the biggest threat, with jihadists being responsible for 24 attacks, left-wingers 19 attacks and right-wingers just one attack.
While political extremism, whether it be religious, left-wing or right-wing, should be equally condemned, the figures continue to illustrate the clearest danger.
There were a total of 129 foiled attacks in the EU in 2018.
The vast majority, 83, were ethno-nationalist and separatist — most of these tend to be small-scale attacks carried out by groups like ETA in Spain which don’t cause causalities.

High Court Upholds Racism Sentence Against Danish Politician
The Østre Landsret high court on Thursday upheld a ruling convicting Rasmus Paludan, leader of extremist party Stram Kurs, of inciting racial hatred.
Paludan’s 14-day conditional prison sentence, originally given by the district court in Glostrup in April, was upheld by the higher court.
Specifically, the party leader was sentenced under paragraph 266b, commonly referred to as the ‘racism paragraph’ of Denmark’s criminal code.
Paludan and his party narrowly failed in last month’s general election to secure a large enough vote share to enter parliament.
The conviction is related to a video which was published last year on the Stram Kurs YouTube account.
In the video, Paludan makes reference to “most negroes [Danish: negere, ed.] in South Africa” and people of low IQ (under 70). Referencing South African governing party ANC, the Danish party leader implies black citizens are incapable of governing South Africa due to low intelligence, Ritzau writes.
Making such a connection was in breach of the law, Glostrup District Court and now Østre Landsret found.
The higher court found Paludan’s speech in the video “degrading or abusive” towards a specified group.
Defence lawyer Mette Grith Stage argued that comments in the video were part of Stram Kurs’ political work and that adjudging them illegal would thereby encroach on Paludan’s right to free speech.
But the high court judge and lay assessors rejected that defence.
“The high court finds that, in light of the nature of the comments and the context in which they were put forth, they cannot be viewed as part of a legitimate political debate,” judge Joachim Kromann said.
Paludan and his defence lawyer will now consider appealing the verdict to the Danish supreme court, Højesteret.

Blood poisoning can be deadly and is not all that uncommon. Therefore, knowing the signs of blood poisoning can save a life, as one mother in the United Kingdom recently found out!
Alexandra Ruddy’s 8-year-old son had fallen at the zoo about a week prior to her taking him to the hospital in the United Kingdom. According to a post she shared on Facebook along with a photo of her son’s red wrist which he injured in the fall. Although she ensured the wounds remained cleaned and they didn’t appear infected, she noticed he developed “red tracking” near the injuries as they headed to the beach one day.
“I took him down to the out of hours feeling a bit silly but when the doctor saw it he commended me on [recognizing] it and getting down ASAP,” Ruddy wrote in the post that has now been shared more than 40,000 shares. Unfortunately, her son had blood poisoning. His wound has developed sepsis. “It isn’t something you can ‘leave’ until Monday when the doctors are back in the office,” she added according to Yahoo.

Macron’s France to Force Social Media and Search Engines to Censor ‘Hate Speech’
PARIS (AP) — French lawmakers have approved a measure that is intended to force search engines and social networks to take hate speech off the internet.
The measure adopted Thursday by the lower house of the French parliament would require social networks to remove hate speech within 24 hours of a confirmed violation. Search engines would have to stop referencing the content as well.
The provision, part of a bill on internet regulation, targets videos or messages inciting or glorifying terrorism, hate, violence, or racist or religious abuse. Violators could face hefty fines.
It prompted heated discussion in the National Assembly over how to define hate speech.

Non-Muslim, Danish Third-Graders Taught Islamic Prayers; Shout “Allah is Greatest!”
The principal of Thyregod (hey, at least God is in its name) school, Gert Hougaard, defended the Islamic exercise. “‘Looking at the legislation, it says that we must spread the knowledge of different religions, including also the practical understanding,’“ MM.dk quotes him as saying — “‘so yes, I think was a good way to teach children about religion.’“
Yet as Islam expert Robert Spencer notes, one problem is that “these programs always go in only one direction.”
“When do the Muslim children learn Christian prayers?” he rhetorically asks. “When does everyone learn Jewish prayers?”
Where Muslim youths are concerned, the answer is likely “never.” Could you imagine Islamic kids being instructed to shout “Christ is King!”? The Muslims wouldn’t stand for it — never mind kneel for it.

NYTimes: Catholic Church Lost Italy Because Pope Francis is Not Political Enough
Mr. Ferraresi makes the incredible claim that Pope Francis has “embraced a new model” for the papacy, withdrawing from political engagement and limiting church action “to the pastoral dimension.”
The fact that “millions of Catholics are voting for Mr. Salvini,” making the League “the leading party among churchgoers,” Ferraresi proposes, stems from the fact that the Church under Francis has retreated from political debate.
As any Vatican watcher can attest, Pope Francis makes political statements on a nearly daily basis, focusing particularly in the issues of immigration, climate change, and economic justice. Vatican journalists share nearly unanimous awareness that for better or for worse Pope Francis is arguably the most political pope in recent memory.

Swedish Police Head: Get Used to Current Level of Shootings
So far this year, the city of Stockholm has seen 11 fatalities as a result of shootings, nearly double the number during the same period in 2018
Head of the Swedish Security Service (Säpo) Anders Thornberg has told Swedes to get used to the current level of shootings, saying it could remain high for many years to come.
Thornberg said that he did not see an end to the current wave of shootings across the country anytime soon, saying “this can continue for five to ten years” in an interview with Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet.

British independent journalist Tommy Robinson has been found guilty of contempt of court for a second time over livestreaming outside a 2018 Pakistani grooming gang trial in Leeds.
The trial had been under a reporting restriction, but Robinson’s lawyers argued that information was not available on the court’s website at the time — and that he attempted to find out if there was a ban four times before going to the courthouse.
Robinson had previously served 10 weeks in prison for the offense before the charges were overturned in the Court of Appeal. Their ruling that found he was improperly tried, convicted, sentenced and imprisoned. Though he was released, the court left the option open to try him again for the same incident — which they did this week.
Robinson now faces up to two years in prison, but his sentencing will be determined at a later date.
Speaking to the Gateway Pundit in May, Robinson pointed out that he had been chased into the courtroom that day by a slew of reporters and photographers harassing him and nothing was done to prevent it. He also noted that Independent journalist Lizzie Dearden ignored a reporting ban the same weekend he did — but was never charged.

UK: Local Labour Politicians Defect to Brexit Party as Labour Slumps in Polls
Two local Labour figures have defected to the Brexit Party, as Labour sinks to fourth place in a recent YouGov poll.
West Heywood councillor Alan McCarthy and former Labour councillor and leader of Rochdale council Colin Lambert defected to the Brexit Party this week.
Their constituency of Rochdale voted 60 per cent in favour of Leave in the 2016 referendum, and Councillor McCarthy said that he left because Labour no longer represents the people.
Mr McCarthy told Rochdale Online on Thursday: “I have been a Labour Party supporter for 40 years, nigh on 20 of those as a sitting councillor for West Heywood. The Labour Party pledged to respect the decision of the referendum and has gone back on its word.
“I have resigned the Labour whip and will be joining the Brexit Party — the only party that is standing up for democracy — and the only party committed to investing in the north and the regions which, for too long, have been ignored by the other political parties.”

Venezuela’s Rulers Accused by UN of Death Squads and Policy of Fear
The UN has accused Venezuela of a strategy of instilling fear in its population to retain power, removing opponents with a “shocking” number of alleged extrajudicial killings.
Victims are arrested and shot, with crime scenes manipulated to suggest they resisted police, a report says.
The UN urges Venezuela to end the “grave violations of economic, social, civil, political and cultural rights”.

Thousands of Africans, Haitians Heading to US Through Latin America
About 1,000 Africans have been apprehended by Del Rio Border Patrol in the past two to three months, according to Sector Chief Raul Ortiz. They herald from 11 African nations, but most are from the Congo and Angola.
It’s an astronomical increase, considering that only eight Angolans and 11 Congolese crossed the entire southern border throughout the 12 years from 2007 through 2018, according to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) apprehension data…
A reinterpretation of the Flores Settlement Agreement, made by a California judge in 2015, has precipitated the massive surge in family units crossing the border, mostly from Central America. The Flores agreement now states that any child, including those with parents, can’t be held longer than 20 days. Previously, that law had only applied to unaccompanied minors.
In both fiscal 2016 and 2017, the total number of family units that were apprehended by Border Patrol was about 77,000. Family unit numbers count the total number of individuals who arrived as a family unit (at least one parent and one child).
However, in fiscal 2018, the numbers jumped to 107,000. And in the first eight months of fiscal 2019, the number of family units has shot to more than 332,000, according to CBP. Most are from Central America.

CBC Accused of Sexualizing Children After Promoting ‘Drag Kids’ Documentary
“Are we training kids to be strippers and pole dancers now?”
Canadian broadcaster CBC was accused of sexualizing children after it promoted a new documentary about “drag kids”.
The clip, which was tweeted out by the ‘CBC Kids’ account, shows numerous minors talking about their ‘drag’ alter-egos while one of them, a 12-year-old, performs what some complained were sexually suggestive dance moves.
The backlash was pretty swift.
“The parents of these kids, and the producers of this documentary, should be in prison for child abuse,” commented Mark Dice.

Christian University Caves in to the LGBTQ Crowd
You don’t win battles when there is an abundance of white flags in your arsenal. Christian universities haven’t grasped that concept. One after the other, Christian schools have hoisted the white flag of surrender regarding their practices, policies, and precepts. That’s called apostasy.
Last month, California passed a resolution calling on religious leaders to affirm homosexuality and “transgenderism” and to accept that Christian efforts to help people with unwanted same-sex attraction or gender confusion are “ineffective, unethical and harmful.” Eager to please, Dr. Kevin Mannoia, Azusa Pacific University (APU) chaplain and the former head of the National Association of Evangelicals, kissed the LGBTQ ring and genuflected under the rainbow flag by “directing pastors and counselors to reject biblical views of sexuality and deny counseling for those struggling with unwanted same-sex attraction or gender confusion.”
And another white flag went up…
Christian institutions need to use biblical terms in such matters. They can clearly require no sexual relations of any kind between two (or more) unmarried individuals. All sex is wrong without marriage and homosexual acts are wrong under all conditions. Of course, the schools are trying to stop the plunge in enrollment and the bleeding of school bank accounts so they give a little here and give much more there — soon they have a secular school whose biblical past embarrasses their progressive leaders.

Here’s Why the Progressive Left Keeps Sticking Up for Pedophiles

Pedophilia itself is of course not confined to one side of the political spectrum. But defending it does seem to be. Pro-pedophile activism continues to surface on the Left in a way that it simply doesn’t on the Right. Salon is one of the worst offenders: the left-wing website runs sympathetic features on pedophilia with alarming regularity.
In 2012, the site ran a story entitled “Meet the Pedophiles Who Mean Well” about a group called “Virtuous Pedophiles,” who resolve never to have sex with children. (Sarah Nyberg made reference to this group in her leaked chat logs.) In the aftermath of Ariel Castro’s initial court appearance in 2013, Salon ran an op-ed entitled “Our Approach to Pedophilia Isn’t Working,” which argued that pedophilia ought to be treated as a medical issue rather than a moral one.
Yet, incredibly, Salon is by no means alone. In the aftermath of the Jimmy Savile scandal in the UK, the Guardian published a feature carrying the disturbing claim that there is “not even a full academic consensus on whether consensual paedophilic relations necessarily cause harm.” Even left-wing comedy websites are complaining about society’s “misunderstanding” of pedophiles, and their writers post pictures of their own children to pedophiles in “support” when the self-confessed perverts are outed.
What’s happening here? Why are defences of pedophilia so rampant on the Left? And why are pedophiles so attracted to the progressive movement, as opposed to conservatism, libertarianism, or even anarcho-capitalism?
The most likely answer may be difficult for left-leaning readers to accept. For decades, moral relativism has underpinned radical left-wing thought. This is particularly clear when we look at how abuses in Muslim communities are treated. When the Conservative government in Canada labeled female genital mutilation and forced marriages as “barbaric cultural practices,” they were criticised by leading Canadian leftists…
Horrifyingly, there are signs of a new pedophile acceptance movement forming on the Left. Just as Allen West warned, the gay rights movement is being used as a template. First comes the argument that pedophiles are just “born that way,” absolving them of any moral responsibility for their desires. Then comes the argument that pedophiles are just normal people, like the rest of us, but somehow impoverished or victimised by their own condition.
Inevitably, our society’s current ostracisation of pedophiles will be portrayed as an injustice: an oppression from which pedophiles must be liberated, or for which they deserve our sympathy. And woe to the oppressors! Quietly, in progressive columns and academies around the world, progressives are losing their footing and sliding down that slippery slope. Publications like Salon are abetting the turpitude.

Lack of Pride in America Not Surprising After Years of Liberal Propaganda
“I think this country was founded on a lot of great ideas, but it was also founded on slavery,” U.S. Soccer Team star Megan Rapinoe said recently.
Such remarks, which have been asserted in various and sundry ways for years, and have largely gone unchallenged, certainly explain much of why a recent Gallup Poll, conducted in June, found that fewer than half of U.S. adults — 45 percent — report feeling extremely proud to be Americans.
American history is now mostly taught as just a string of injustices, going back to colonial days, with almost everything having to do with the maltreatment of minority groups and women. Of course, there has been much injustice that has occurred in U.S. history, but statements such as America was “founded on slavery” are at best, ignorant, and at worse, malevolent.
On the contrary, slavery was not unique to America, but has existed across the globe since the dawn of human history. The United States was founded with the secession of the colonies from the British Empire. One can search in vain for anything in the Declaration of Independence that cites the preservation of slavery as among the reasons for that separation.
While America’s experience with slavery, and all other ills in the country’s history, should be taught, those “great ideas,” such as the belief that our rights from God, not government, should also be taught. Yet, in the schools, in the media, in the popular culture, and in political discourse, all one hears are remarks like Rapinoe’s.

Pope Francis Unleashes His Inner Pagan in Pan-Amazonian Document Laying Foundation for ‘New’ Church
The Vatican has released the preparatory document for its upcoming Pan-Amazonian Synod of bishops in October, and it contains yet another window into Pope Francis’ green-friendly worldview in which he subtely and deceptively turns traditional, biblical Christianity on its head.
You will recall that just a couple of months ago a group of more than 30 Catholic scholars and clergy signed an open letter to the bishops, pleading that they hold the pope accountable for his anti-Christian, anti-Catholic teachings with regard to marriage, moral teaching, etc. They declared him guilty of at least seven heresies.
The Pan-Amazonian document, titled Instumentum Laboris, will do nothing to assuage the fears of these 30-plus brave Catholic leaders. It’s classic Francis, peppered with radical political ideas cloaked in religious verbiage and lovingly promoted as “ecotheology.”

Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger has slammed Facebook and Twitter for abusing their power to create an “appalling” Internet while advocating “decentralized” social networks as the solution.

Sanger criticizing Facebook is the pot calling the kettle black. Simple truth is that if anybody tries to put factual but adverse information the left doesn’t like on anything the slightest bit political, be it Islam, Obama, climate change, it gets disappeared in minutes.
Maybe Wikipedia’s slogan should be, “We’re terrible as a platform for balanced politics, but at least we’re not as bad as Facebook.”
I wondered at the speed of the judges’ verdict in the trial of Tommy Robinson. After all the evidence was presented there was a recess of what seemed to be an hour or so. I was following the live Twitter feeds of Ezra Levant (and Andrew Lawton, a reporter with True North Canada). Ezra speculated whether there would be a decision announced, or whether court would be recalled the next day. He had even predicted an acquittal (naively, as he later said) and was on his way to Heathrow to catch a flight back to Toronto.
It was stunning news when it came: Tommy was declared guilty on all three counts, but no reasons given. They are to be given later next week when he will be sentenced. How convenient for the judges—now they have several days to formulate their reasons. Will they take into consideration the anger of Tommy’s supporters, the degree of outrage felt, the disgust and shock of those who now see the UK as an “unfree” state? Perhaps, but there is such an uber-arrogance permeating the air in the British judiciary that it seems unlikely that they feel they owe the “little people” anything.
I kept thinking of Dymphna all through the court proceedings – how she was a great supporter of Tommy and how she would be horrified at this latest turn, but not surprised.
In a way, I’m glad Dymphna isn’t around to see what’s happening to Tommy. She had cared deeply about him since before he first went to prison, in 2011 or whenever it was. And every incident of persecution triggered her PTSD. His most recent stay in prison was VERY hard on her. What’s happening to him now would have sent her into a tailspin.
Her heartfelt caring for him was evident whenever she wrote about him. I’m also glad she’s been spared this latest episode of intensified state persecution against him.
There is some IT issue with the donate to Tommy Robinson link. It eventually gets directed to the tr.news website but you are warned away because of a certificate or certificate authority issue. If you go directly to the tr.news it doesn’t have a problem. It might scare some willing to donate off.
Well, when Tommy’s people send me a different link, I’ll use it. That’s the best I can do.
From your Tommy, a new folk hero is heavily molded along old tracing: a good honest guy fights against the system. Everything will be as it always has been:
1) Tommy will be able to do something, but will not be able to enjoy the fruits of his victory. Completely different people will get them, and Tommy will somehow be eliminated.
2) Tommy can not do anything, but the memory of him will remain in people’s hearts. There must be some hope for the plebs.
