Three men who had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State were convicted of murder and sentenced to death by a Moroccan court for killing two female Scandinavian hikers last year. The men had recorded the murders and posted the video on social media.
In other news, an angry man used an accelerant (some reports say gasoline) to set fire to an anime studio in Japan, killing 33 people and wounding dozens more. His motive is unknown.

As the Jeffrey Epstein case continues to unfold, a laundry list of celebrities, business magnates and socialites who have flown anywhere near the registered sex offender’s orbit are now tainted with pedo-polonium. Many of them, such as Bill Clinton, Ehud Barak, and Victoria’s Secret boss Les Wexner have sought to distance themselves from Epstein and his activities — however their attempts have fallen on deaf ears considering their extensive ties to the pedophile.
As Vanity Fair’s Gabriel Sherman notes, “The questions about Epstein are metastasizing much faster than they can be answered: Who knew what about Epstein’s alleged abuse? How, and from whom, did Epstein get his supposed $500 million fortune? Why did Acosta grant Epstein an outrageously lenient non-prosecution agreement? (And what does it mean that Acosta was reportedly told Epstein ‘belonged to intelligence’?)”
Also illuminating is a statement by attorney Brad Edwards, who said during a Wednesday press conference seated next to Epstein accuser Courtney Wild that “There were other business associates of Mr. Epstein’s who engaged in improper sexual misconduct at one or more of his homes. We do know that,” adding “In due time the names are going to start coming out.”
What’s more, the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit will release of approximately 2,000 pages of documents, likely over the next several days, which may reveal sex crimes committed by “numerous prominent American politicians, powerful business executives, foreign presidents, a well-known prime minister, and other world leaders,” according to the court’s three-judge panel.

CIA Pushes for Expansion of Secrecy Laws to Shut Down Public Criticism
When the CIA and other agencies in the United States government pushed for the Intelligence Identities Protection Act (IIPA) in 1981, it was crafted to exclude “covert agents” who resided in the U.S.
There was consideration by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence of how the legislation might “chill or stifle public criticism of intelligence activities or public debate concerning intelligence policy.”
More than three decades later, the CIA is apparently unsatisfied with the protections the bill granted covert agents.

A federal judge on Thursday denied bail to wealthy sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein who sought to be released from custody on a $100 million bond.
Epstein’s lawyers asked that he be kept in his $77 million Manhattan mansion with an electronic trafficking device as he awaited his trial.
Epstein was arrested two weeks ago and indicted on one count of conspiring to commit sex trafficking.
Judge Richard Berman, a Clinton appointee said on Thursday that Epstein is a flight risk and a potential danger to the public so he denied him bail.

Netflix suffered a net loss of 130,000 American subscribers during the second quarter of the year, and this is not at all surprising.
I’m a Netflix fan going back to the earliest days of the company’s streaming service. Back then it was a great service at a great price.

Not so much.
For a whole $12.99 a month there is certainly a ton of content to choose from on Netflix, but most of it is crap and too much of it is political. As I browse the menus, be it documentaries, comedy specials, sitcoms, or dramas, I get the sense Netflix doesn’t like me very much. In fact, I feel an abiding sense of hostility towards all white, male, Christian Trump supporters.
So much Netflix programming is “woke” and therefore no fun whatsoever — it’s just pious and scolding as opposed to entertaining.

Portland Considers Anti-Face Mask Law Responding to Antifa Violence
Officials in Portland, Oregon, are considering a ban on the wearing of masks during protest events, in response to the violent clash that took place in the city between Antifa and right-wing groups.
Portland Police Chief Danielle Outlaw called for anti-mask regulations following the assault of conservative journalist Andy Ngo by Antifa protesters on June 29, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

Rebel Media reporter Keean Bexte brought a “No Hate” jumbotron truck playing videos of “The Squad” to the Democratic National Committee headquarters in DC, urging all politicians to condemn Antifa and terrorism. The Democrats were not too pleased with the truck playing videos of their politicians and attempted to kick Bexte off the sidewalk by their building.
Bexte has been confronting lawmakers on Capitol Hill and asking them to condemn the attacks, which all of the freshmen far-left congresswomen have refused to do.
The truck, which will be driving around DC all day on Thursday, featured him grilling Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar and Ayanna Pressley — and their refusal to condemn last week’s attack on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Tacoma, Washington, by an armed Antifa activist. Wikipedia Editors Protect Antifa by Censoring Andy NGO Assault, ICE Attack
Following the Antifa assault on Quillette journalist Andy Ngo in Portland and the terrorist attack on a Tacoma ICE facility, Wikipedia editors added these incidents to the Wikipedia page on Antifa, but left-wing editors removed them in just the latest case of Wikipedia editors protecting Antifa. Several editors, including an open Antifa supporter, subsequently made mocking comments about Ngo and one praised the attack on ICE.
Another violent incident reported in Newsweek last year was removed with some questioning Newsweek’s reliability. Wikipedia editors have also sought to remove mention of the FBI categorizing Antifa as engaged in terrorist activity. Belgian Politicians Insist US Secret Nukes Should be Out as Report on NATO Disclosed Their Location
In a report detailing NATO’s deterrence policy, a Canadian senator for the Defence and Security Committee of the alliance’s Parliamentary Assembly accidentally revealed several sites the US uses to store its weapons of mass destruction in Europe. The list includes bases in Turkey, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
Belgium’s green and socialist parties, Groen and the sp.a, have urged the country’s authorities to discuss the removal of the US nuclear warheads, disclosed as being stored at the Kleine-Brogel Air Base just 90 kilometres from Brussels. The parties’ representatives pledged to raise the issue during a defence parliamentary committee on 17 July although a defence ministry spokesperson has said that “we cannot and should not speak about” the warheads, stored in Belgium, as The Brussels Times report.

Dangerous “Swedes” Wanted for Kidnapping and Torture Arrested by Spanish Police in Malaga
Two of Sweden’s “most wanted” have been arrested in a shopping centre in Malaga, Andalusia, Southern Spain.

England: Knife Crime Hits New Record High
Knife crime has hit a new record high in England and Wales, rising 8% on the previous year new figures show.
“The figures for police-recorded crime revealed there were 43,516 police-recorded offences involving a knife or sharp instrument, which is the highest since comparable records began in 2011,” reports Sky News.

EU Looking to Regulate Everything Online, And to Make Sites Proactively Remove Material
One of the reasons that Techdirt and many others fought so hard against the worst ideas of the EU Copyright Directive is that it was clearly the thin end of the wedge. If things like upload filters and the imposition of intermediary liability become widely implemented as the result of legal requirements in the field of copyright, it would only be a matter of time before they were extended to other domains. Netzpolitik has obtained a seven-page European Commission paper sketching ideas for a new EU Digital Services Act (pdf) that suggests doing exactly that. The Act’s reach is extremely wide:
The scope would cover all digital services, and in particular online platforms. This means the clarification would address all services across the internet stack from mere conduits such as ISPs to cloud hosting services; while a special emphasis in the assessment would be dedicated to updated rules for online platforms such as social media, search engines, or collaborative economy services, as well as for online advertising services.
A core aim is to replace the e-Commerce Directive, passed in 2000. This is presented as “outdated”, but the suggestions in the paper are clearly a continuation of attacks on the fundamental principles underlying the open Internet that began with the Copyright Directive.

“It’s deeply, deeply problematic”, says Per-Willy Amundsen, former Justice Minister in Norway. His Facebook status about Tommy Robinson has also been censored.
“Tommy should be granted asylum in Norway, since the United Kingdom has betrayed freedom of speech. He is politically persued”, top politician Per-Willy Amundsen, posted about the British activist on 11 July.
Amundsen then added: “This will definitely be a post that Facebook will erase.”

Farage Says May ‘Openly Lied’ To UK After Eurocrat Reveals PM Never Threatened No Deal
The European Union’s chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier has said that Prime Minister Theresa May never told him that Britain would consider leaving the EU without a deal.
Mr Barnier told the BBC’s Panorama programme that neither Mrs May nor any of her ministers ever mentioned that the United Kingdom might reject the withdrawal treaty and may leave without a deal.

German Newspaper Suggests People ‘Shut Up’ And Stop Discussing Merkel’s Health
The German chancellor’s visible tremors, which have been spotted on at least three occasions during her recent public appearances, have become a point of concern for some politicians and citizens questioning her ability to lead the government; however, 60% of the country’s population believes that Merkel’s health is her own private matter.
Margarete Stokowski, a columnist for Germany’s Spiegel newspaper, has published an article harshly condemning the ongoing public discussions on social networks and in the media about alleged health issues that may have been behind Chancellor Angela’s Merkel’s recent “shaking episodes”. The columnist suggested that instead of discussing the issue, people, including journalists, doctors, and politicians, should “shut up” and be satisfied with Merkel’s own response to the matter.

Norwegian MP Says Facebook ‘Censored’ His Post on Asylum for Tommy Robinson
Last week, former Justice Minister Amundsen called on Norway to grant Robinson, jailed for nine months, political asylum. Amundsen also accused Facebook of having a “left-wing bias” and muting Robinson’s supporters. “Will they censor a Norwegian MP?” Amundsen asked.
Apparently, this is exactly what happened, as Amundsen has claimed he was censored by the social media giant.
“Friday I was called by Facebook and warned: If I don’t delete my post about Tommy Robinson, they would censor it. Similarly, they also contacted the Prime Minister’s office (!) And the Progress Party administration”, Amundsen wrote.
According to Amundsen, this is in effect an attack on free speech.

A newly released study of the electoral preferences of members of the French military and the gendarmes has demonstrated an increasing tendency to support national populist Marine Le Pen and her Rassemblement National (RN) or National Rally party.
An Ifop study which was conducted for the Jean Jaure’s Foundation, examined communes with large numbers of soldiers living there compared to the average population and discovered that some, like Mailly-le-Camp, saw 50.4 percent voting for National Rally in this year’s European Parliament election, according to a report from Le Figaro.
The commune in Suippes, where members of the French 40th Artillery regiment reside, also had many more people voting for the National Rally with 45.5 percent support in 2019’s European election.

Sweden: Stockholm Attack Migrant Terrorist Complains About Poor Food in Prison
Stockholm terror attacker Rakhmat Akilov has complained about his treatment in prison, claiming the food is substandard and that he feels lonely.

Swedish ‘Climate Prophet’ Greta Thunberg Irks Brits by Claiming UK Does ‘More Harm Than Good’
The 16-year-old Nobel Peace Prize nominee, who has amassed a following of millions around the globe, has claimed that children have a better understanding of climate change than adults.
Swedish teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg, who is known for her apocalyptic rhetoric about climate change and organising school strikes, has sparked strong reactions in her recent interview with Sky News.
According to Thunberg, children and young people have a better understanding of climate change and see that “our future is at risk”. Thunberg stressed that many young people of her generation felt “sad, angry and scared” at the failure of adults and politicians to stop the climate crisis.
“If they don’t act now, then in the future they will be seen as some of the greatest villains in human history and we will not judge them easy”, Thunberg said glumly. “But, I mean, they can still change that”.

UK: Boris Johnson’s New Plan Would Sideline Parliament and Guarantee a ‘No Deal’ Brexit
As Sky explains (for our American readers), Parliament is typically out of session for between one and two weeks ahead of the Queen’s speech — meaning MPs would in effect be unavailable to stop a no-deal Brexit immediately before October 31.

Theresa May’s expected successor Boris Johnson is under fire from the Muslim Council of Britain for past comments suggesting “something about Islam” was responsible for the Islamic world ending up “centuries behind” the West.
Writing in an essay appended to his 2007 book The Dream of Rome — exhumed by the left-liberal Guardian newspaper — Johnson suggested that “a fatal religious conservatism” had held the Islamic world back, and that the more it has “fallen behind”, the more “bitterness and confusion there has been, to the point where virtually every global flashpoint you can think of — from Bosnia to Palestine to Iraq to Kashmir — involves some sense of Muslim grievance”.

UK: BBC Plans to Send ‘Outreach’ Officers to Tell Elderly to Pay TV Tax

UK: Brother of the Suicide Bomber Behind the Manchester Arena Attacks Arrested for Murder
The youngest brother of the Manchester Arena suicide bomber has been extradited to the U.K. on charges of conspiracy, murder, and attempted murder.
Hashem Abedi, 22, was first arrested in Libya just after the May 2017 Manchester Arena suicide bombings in which twenty-three people were killed and hundreds were injured.
On Wednesday morning, Libyan authorities handed Hashem Abedi over to U.K. police officers, who then escorted him on a flight which left Mitiga Airport, near Tripoli.

UK: Boris Johnson Says Muslim World “Literally Centuries Behind” The West Due to Islam
Last January, then-Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson compared women wearing burkas to “letterboxes” and “bank robbers” in a column for the newspaper The Daily Telegraph.
In his opinion piece, Johnson wrote, in particular, that he believed it was “absolutely ridiculous” that such women should “go around looking like letterboxes”.
And now the potential UK prime minister has been slammed by a number of Muslim organisations for claiming that the Muslim world is allegedly “literally centuries behind” the West due to Islam.
In an essay written by Johnson in 2006 and now unearthed by The Guardian, Johnson wrote:

Salih Khater, a 30-year-old refugee from Sudan, was found guilty of two charges of attempted murder after driving his Ford Fiesta at cyclists, a pedestrian, and police officers outside of the Houses of Parliament last year.
A jury at the Old Bailey found Khater guilty on Wednesday, with sentencing set for October 7th. During the trial, the court had seen footage of Khater driving his car into a group of cyclists and a pedestrian at Parliament Square on August 14th, 2018, during morning rush hour.

ISIS Supporters Who Beheaded Scandinavian Hikers in Morocco Sentenced to Death
Three men who claimed allegiance to ISIS after brutally killing two Scandinavian women hiking in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco have been sentenced to death.
The men — Jounes Ouzayed, Rashid Afatti, and Abdessaman Al Joud — are the three main defendants accused of killing and beheading Maren Ueland, 28, of Norway, and Louisa Vesterager Jespersen, 24, from Denmark, in December. The slayings were recorded on video and shared on social media by ISIS supporters.
On Wednesday, a court in Morocco convicted them on terror charges. A fourth suspect, Kahiali Abderahman, who fled the scene, was given life in prison.

U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar proposed a resolution this week supporting the right to boycott Israel, likening the boycott of the Jewish state to boycotts of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union.
Omar’s resolution seeks to push back against U.S. laws banning the boycott of Israel and affirms the right of Americans to organize boycotts of foreign countries if they so wish.
While the resolution doesn’t explicitly name Israel or the pro-Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, she told media outlets that the resolution concerns the Jewish state.

US Navy Shoots Down Iranian Drone Over Strait of Hormuz; Iran Denies
Update: In response to President Trump’s announcement earlier in the day that a U.S. Navy ship had “destroyed” an Iranian drone in the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said he was not aware of any downing, according to Reuters:
“We have no information about losing a drone today,” Zarif told reporters at the United Nations before a meeting with Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

China Gives Children 17,000 Smart Watches to Track Their Locations
The Chinese government this week launched what it describes as a voluntary security program in the southern city of Guangzhou by handing out 17,000 free smart watches to elementary school children.
These “Safe Campus Smartwatches” are linked into BeiDou, China’s new version of the GPS tracking system, and monitor the child’s location to within 30 feet at all times.
Parents can use a smartphone app to track the location of their children and will receive emergency alerts if the child triggers that function of the watch. The watches can also respond automatically to certain conditions, such as sending a warning message if they are submerged underwater, making parents aware that their children may have encountered a water hazard.
Of course, the children and their parents will also be monitored by several agencies of the Communist Chinese government, including the police and the Ministry of Information Technology.
Chinese media reports stress that the program is voluntary and the children appear delighted with their free watches. About half of the units have reportedly been brought online since distribution began. Some school officials explained that smartphones have been banned from their classrooms, so the more restricted smartwatches give students a way to communicate with their parents without all of the distractions associated with a phone.

Shock Daylight Arson Attack on Japanese Anime Studio Leaves 33 Dead
A popular animation production studio in Kyoto, Japan has gone up in flames after a reported arson attack, leaving a shocking 33 people confirmed or presumed dead, and another 36 injured — some critically — according to Japanese fire department statements. It’s Japan’s worst case of arson in decades and among the highest mass casualty events in its recent history.

UCF student Veronica Urgiles has helped describe two new frog species discovered in Ecuador, and she named one of them after one of her professors.
Urgiles and an international team of researchers just published their findings in the journal ZooKeys.
“Frogs are by far my favorite,” said Urgiles, who is pursuing a master’s degree in biology. “So, getting to describe and name two of them is terrific. I have been looking at these frogs for years now, so going over the whole process of observing them in their habitats and then analyzing them and comparing them under the microscope, to finally naming them is a long, but very satisfying journey.”

An illegal alien teenager who was released into the United States has been charged with raping a 7-year-old girl in Marietta, Georgia.
Baudilio Salomon Diaz Ambrosio, a 17-year-old illegal alien from Guatemala, was arrested and charged by the Marietta Police Department with rape, aggravated child molestation, and aggravated sexual battery.
Ambrosio, according to FOX 5 Atlanta, is accused of being alone with a 7-year-old girl in her parents’ home and forcing her to have sex with him. Police said the rape was so brutal that the girl had to be hospitalized and undergo surgery.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A federal grand jury is accusing a Syrian refugee of plotting to bomb a Christian church in Pittsburgh to inspire Islamic State of Iraq followers.
The jury handed up a three-count indictment Wednesday against 21-year-old Pittsburgh resident Mustafa Mousab Alowemer.
He’s charged with attempting to provide material support and resources to the Islamic State of Iraq and two counts of distributing information about an explosive, destructive device, or weapon of mass destruction.
Authorities claim he had detailed plans to bomb the Legacy International Worship Center, a small Christian church.

Salvini Resists Globalist Migrant Ship Proposals at Emergency Talks in Helsinki

“CSU lists both “American” and “America” as non-inclusive words “to avoid,” due to the fact that America encompasses more than just the U.S. By referring to the U.S. as America, the guide claims that one “erases other cultures and depicts the United States as the dominant American country.” The school suggests using “U.S. citizen” or “person from the U.S.” as substitutes,” writes Ethan Cai.

Killing Words: “Gendered Language” To be Banned in Berkeley, CA
An entire city is attempting to kill words to appeal to emotions and strip away any sense of individuality and identity. Gendered words such as “manhole” will be banned from Berkeley, California’s city codes.
All words that imply a gender preference will be removed from the city’s codes and replaced with gender-neutral terms, according to a recently adopted city ordinance.
