Who Owns Italy’s Sovereign Gold Stocks?

Giorgia Meloni is the leader of the anti-immigration party Fratelli d’Italia (Brothers of Italy) and a member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies. In the following video she criticizes the current government’s position on the issue of Italy’s sovereign stocks of gold, which have been designated the property of Bankitalia, a private corporation.

Ms. Meloni’s criticisms are aimed at the coalition government of the Lega and the 5-Star Movement (M5S). It’s interesting to note that Matteo Salvini and Luigi di Maio have apparently discovered the same thing that Donald Trump has discovered — being elected to serve as head of government does NOT translate into immediate control over state affairs that are considered the provenance of the banksters and the globalists, a.k.a. the Deep State.

Video transcript:

00:00   Be careful: tomorrow something shameful will take place in Parliament.
00:05   Brothers of Italy has been struggling to pass a law that clarifies that Italy’s gold reserves
00:11   (more than €100 billion in gold) kept by the Bank of Italy
00:17   actually belong to the State, and so therefore belong to Italians.
00:24   We asked for this clarification after Bankitalia was undersold to private banks.
00:30   This issue has never be clarified. In recent weeks we’ve asked to face this issue again.
00:34   We asked PM Conte about this, and he surprisingly said that
00:38   “the gold reserves are owned by Bankitalia.”
00:43   So they’re not owned by the State and by the Italian people anymore,
00:47   but by Bankitalia, whose stakeholders are private banks.
00:50   We issued a motion about that, because the parties in charge
00:54   had reassured us that “the gold reserves belong to Italians.”
00:57   Those parties that are supposedly Souverainists. We issued a motion in instruct to state,
01:01   by parliamentary law, that that gold belongs to the Italians.
01:05   The parties in charge issued another motion saying that the Government
01:09   will take care of figuring out whose this gold is, in the future.
01:14   It’s scandalous. It’s scandalous that our motion has been rejected in order to
01:18   prevent the Parliament from stating that the gold belongs to the Italians.
01:23   And that they postponed sine die such an important matter.
01:28   They act like Souverainists only on internet platforms,
01:31   whereas the “deep state” makes their decisions in the palaces of power instead.

  1. Yeah, it takes a while to load with our bandwidth, but it’s worth waiting for to see her explain. Explain anything!

  2. Well at least you Italians have some gold. Gordon Brown decided to sell off most of the UK’s at record low prices…fool! My advice to all readers here is to forget the government and invest in your own bullion.

  3. You think only Italy`s gold is private? Almost every country in the world who has a central bank is owned by private entities, the gold don’t belong to the state, this is the illusion that the private bankers want you to know. Check every “national” bank and you will find out is not own by state. There are few exceptions: Iran, Syria, Venezuela, North Correa, Russia (lately).
