Gates of Vienna News Feed 4/4/2019

The migrant “rescue” ship Sea Eye has been denied permission to land in both Malta and Italy. Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini said the ship, which is carrying 64 culture-enrichers, should land in Germany, perhaps in Hamburg.

In other news, three more women have come forward with claims that former Vice President Joseph “Creepy Joe” Biden engaged in inappropriate touching with them.

Economic Slowdown Confirmed: Here Are 14 Very Alarming Numbers That Reveal the Current State of the Economy

The economic numbers just continue to get worse and worse, and at this point it has become exceedingly clear that an economic slowdown is happening. In fact, even the chair of the Federal Reserve is using the term “slowdown” to describe what is taking place. But of course many are still hoping that the U.S. economy can pull out of this slump and avoid the sort of crippling recession that we experienced in 2008. Unfortunately, that may be really tough because the entire global economy is slowing down right now. Our world is more interconnected than ever before, and what happens on one side of the planet is invariably going to affect the other side of the planet. Some parts of the globe are already mired in deep economic problems, and the U.S. appears to be following down the same path.

If you still think that the economy is in “good shape”, please read over the following list very carefully.

The following are 14 very alarming numbers that reveal the true state of the economy…

#1 Continuing jobless claims are rising at the fastest pace in 10 years.

#2 U.S. businesses are adding jobs at the slowest pace in 18 months.

#3 General Motors, Ford, Nissan and Fiat Chrysler all reported sales declines of at least 5 percent on a year over year basis in March.

US Weekly Jobless Claims Drop to the Lowest Level Since 1969

The number of Americans filing applications for unemployment benefits dropped to a more than 49-year low last week, pointing to sustained labor market strength despite slowing economic growth.

Initial claims for state unemployment benefits declined 10,000 to a seasonally adjusted 202,000 for the week ended March 30, the lowest level since early December 1969, the Labor Department said on Thursday.

A Big Win for Conservatives in Wisconsin?

In Tuesday’s Wisconsin supreme-court election, conservatives appear to have scored a shocking upset victory. With only a handful of precincts left to report, conservative-backed Brian Hagedorn leads liberal-backed Lisa Neubauer by nearly 6,000 votes out of 1.2 million cast, according to unofficial results.

The liberal Neubauer called for a recount, which a losing candidate may do — if she pays for it herself — when the margin is less than one percentage point. (Taxpayers pick up the tab at margins less than 0.25 points.) But a lead of 6,000 votes would almost certainly be insurmountable in a recount, assuming there were no unusually large tabulation errors Tuesday night, as there was in a 2011 supreme-court election in the state.

A Man Tried to Kidnap a 5-Year-Old Girl. Then Mom Pulls a Gun…

A woman and her daughter were shopping at a mall in West Virginia when things took a terrible turn. And if the mother had not been armed and willing to use her firearm, there’s no telling how badly this story would have ended.

She was shopping at the Huntington Mall in Barboursville, a small town in West Virginia with a population of about 4000 people. Suddenly, a man grabbed her five-year-old daughter by the hair and began dragging her off.

This story would probably not have ended with the suspect fleeing had the woman not been armed. It’s yet another shining example of a woman defending herself and someone else with a gun. Here’s an article I wrote a while back with my own experience protecting my child with a gun…

In the Huntington Mall case, the police were able to arrest the suspect. After the mother scared off the would-be kidnapper, she reported the incident to mall security and the local police. They found him walking near the food court.

The attacker is facing felony charges.

Mohamed Fathy Hussein Zayan, 54, of Alexandria, Egypt, was arraigned at the Cabell County Courthouse late Monday night…

And Then There Were Seven: Three More Women Come Complaining About Creepy Encounters With Joe Biden

Former Vice President Joe Biden has come under fire recently for inappropriate behavior, which led him to release a video to tell people he “will be more mindful of personal space in the future.”

Just hours after the release, The Washington Post reported that three more women came forward “about encounters with him that made them feel uncomfortable.” That makes the total seven women.

Professor Jacobson noted that even though Biden said that social norms have changed, these accusations have come from his time as vice president.

Beto O’Rourke: As President I Would ‘Absolutely’ Sign Slavery Reparations Bill Into Law Wednesday

MSNBC played a clip of 2020 Democratic presidential primary candidate Beto O’Rourke at the Nation Action Network’s convention.

O’Rourke was asked if he would sign Sheila Jackson Lee’s bill which would consider reparations proposals for Africans-Americans.

O’Rourke said, “Yes. Civil rights are not just those victories that began with at the outset of my comments, but the injustices that have been visited and continue to be visited on people. We will never get the change that we need to live up to the promise of this country. So absolutely, I would sign that into law.”

Bronx Bartender-Led Socialists Hiding Under the Cover of ‘Progressivism’ Are Leading the United States of America

‘The incurable condition known as megalomania is running rampant through Congress, where chef megalomaniac Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) seems to be running the whole Democrat show.

AOC reminds Trump in tweet about tax return request: ‘We didn’t ask you’. (Fox News, April 4, 2019).

In her Wednesday tweet AOC suggested that House Democrats won’t be taking ‘No’ for an answer in seeking access to President Trump’s tax returns.

Of course not. Democrats never ask, they only DEMAND.

Not only does AOC’s megalomania leave voters out of the equation, but she is trying to pass off Democrats as “progressives” while they are mostly socialists like her and her chief mentor Bernie Sanders.

[Comment: She is doing “well” for one reason — she is the mouthpiece globalists have chosen to push their communist enviro-wacko green agenda. This is why she is getting the massive and favourable globalist owned press coverage.]

Girl: 10, Killed in Suspected Road Rage Shooting on Driveway

PHOENIX — A 10-year-old girl died after being shot along with her father in what may have started with a traffic dispute, Phoenix police said Thursday.

Sgt. Vince Lewis said the shooting that killed Summerbell Brown occurred Wednesday night when a man in a pickup truck that had been following a family’s car fired several gunshots after the family pulled into their driveway.

Two other family members weren’t injured.

The pickup drove away and no immediate arrest was made.

Lewis said the fact that the pickup was closely following the victims’ vehicle might indicate there’d been a traffic dispute. He said there was no immediate indication that the family and the shooter knew each other.

“It’s possible that this was a road rage that started earlier in the area prior to the victim’s family arriving at home,” Lewis told KTAR…

InfoWars Exposed Wind Farm Dangers 2 Years Before Trump Took it Mainstream

In this flashback video, Infowars’ Millie Weaver exposes the potential dangers of wind farms

The mainstream media is jumping all over President Trump for a recent comment about wind turbines where he said, “they say the noise causes cancer.”

Speaking at the National Republican Congressional Committee fundraiser in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, Trump also noted, “If you have a windmill anywhere near your house, congratulations your house just went down 75% in value.”

Vanity Fair called Trump a “Certified Moron” over the remark, Esquire called it a “Horrifying Look Into His Broken Brain” and Business Insider says it’s “A Weird Conspiracy Theory.”

While it’s unknown whether or not wind farms cause cancer, they are known to cause sleep deprivation, stress and other health issues for those living in close proximity.

In this exclusive report, Infowars reporter Millie Weaver exposes the explicit fraud, deception and outright criminality behind wind energy and how it may be used to run rural communities off their properties as part of a major land grab effort in concert with Agenda 21.

Millie Weaver starts off asking people who live and work in Kansas City, KS what they know about green energy and industrial wind farms.

Not surprising, city people virtue signal their liberal support for industrial wind energy, dogmatizing it as a viable solution to the alleged problem of “climate change” without much thought.

However, when asked how much energy wind farms produce, what they know about impacts on birds, bats, the environment and human health, most city people appear to be clueless.

Nine Died in the Nation’s Deadliest Biker Shootout. Texas Prosecutors Couldn’t Convict a Single Person.

Who will be held accountable for the deaths of nine people during a biker-club shootout in the middle of a Twin Peaks restaurant parking lot in broad daylight in 2015?

No one, the McLennan County district attorney’s office announced Tuesday.

Barry Johnson, the county’s district attorney, said his office would drop all remaining charges against the bikers, bringing the years-long saga to a remarkably anticlimactic end without obtaining a single conviction against any of the notorious brawl’s participants.

The announcement comes nearly four years after roughly 200 members of rival motorcycle clubs descended on the Waco strip mall parking lot, allegedly to settle a territorial dispute. Before long, it devolved into a bloody melee. Terrified diners enjoying a midday lunch took cover in the restaurant as dozens of Bandidos and Cossacks bikers exchanged gunfire and brandished knives. Overwhelmed police failed to stop the violence, instead adding to it with more gunfire. In just minutes, nine people died, making it the deadliest biker shootout in U.S. history. At least 20 were critically injured. Dozens of guns and knives were abandoned as swarms of tattooed men scattered.

Nearly everyone at the scene — 177 people — was arrested.

What followed was a prosecutorial fiasco as one by one, the criminal cases collapsed under a former district attorney’s leadership. During the four years of prosecution against dozens of alleged gang members, only a single case went to trial, resulting in a mistrial. The vast majority of the original 177 cases were dismissed.

Pope Names Wilton Gregory Archbishop of D.C. Amid Protests

ROME — Pope Francis has appointed Atlanta archbishop Wilton Gregory to head up the Archdiocese of Washington, DC, as protesters try to block the nomination.

Archbishop Gregory will be the first African-American to lead the Catholics of the nation’s capital, an archdiocese embroiled in scandal since its former archbishop, Theodore McCarrick, became the first cardinal in modern times to be dismissed from the priesthood.

McCarrick’s successor, Cardinal Donald Wuerl, resigned last fall in the wake of heavy criticism of his handling of sex abuse during his tenure as bishop of Pittsburgh.

Lifesite News, a conservative Catholic news outlet, has called the 71-year-old Gregory a “dissident,” alleging that he “has been implicated in covering-up sex abuse and is known for his support of the LGBT agenda and rejection of orthodoxy.”

Henry County police Capt. Joey Smith said at a Thursday afternoon news conference that negotiators have been speaking with the gunman to try and get him to release the 16-year-old.

Authorities say both officers were in serious condition at an Atlanta hospital after being wounded by gunfire in Stockbridge, just south of Atlanta.

Police said they were called to the neighborhood about 10:45 a.m. Thursday on a “trouble unknown” call. Smith said they were shot after entering the home. He said one officer was shot in the hand; the other was shot in the torso and hip area…

‘Zombie Deer’ Brain Disease Spreads to 24 US States & Canada… and Increasingly Threatens Humans

An incurable, mad-cow-like brain infection nicknamed “zombie deer disease” that causes deer, elk and moose to behave strangely and aggressively has spread through half the US — and some fear it may soon turn up in humans.

Chronic wasting disease (CWD) renders its victims uncoordinated, confused and aggressive, while also causing them to lose weight and — eventually — their lives, giving rise to the nickname “zombie deer disease.” Sick animals walk in repetitive patterns and lose all fear of humans, developing a vacant stare.

Like mad cow disease, CWD attacks the brain and spinal cord and is believed to be caused by prions, infectious proteins that travel in bodily fluids and remain contagious for years after leaving the body of their host. Also like mad cow disease, in its early days at least, some scientists have scoffed at the notion it can be transmitted to humans. Others see history repeating itself.

EU Fury: Growing Anti-French Sentiment in Italy — ‘Macron is Held Responsible!’

ITALIAN anti-mafia writer Roberto Saviano has warned of the rise of anti-French feeling in Italy, a trend he blamed on the country’s eurosceptic Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini.

The relationship between Italy and France has grown frosty since the far-right League and anti-establishment 5-Star movement won power last year and took aim at the French leader. The widespread anti-French sentiment in Italy is fuelled by Mr Salvini and his far-right League party, Mr Saviano told France’s Europe 1 radio. He said: “At the moment, anti-French sentiment is very strong in Italy, because we always need to point the finger at someone. “And [French President] Emmanuel Macron is being held responsible for all of the things that Mr Salvini is incapable of dealing with.”

Islamists Arrested Over Kindergarten Children Massacre Plot

The man, who investigators consider the mastermind of the plot, admitted after his arrest that he wanted to enter the kindergarten, attack the children, and then take some hostage

Two Islamic extremists have been arrested by police in Paris after allegedly plotting to massacre a kindergarten full of children.

The two men, both 20 years old, were arrested on March 25th in Seine-et-Marne with the Paris prosecutor charging them over plotting to kill children and police officers, broadcaster RTL reports.

One of the men involved is said to have been known to the General Directorate of Homeland Security (DGSI), France’s internal intelligence agency.

The man, who investigators consider the mastermind of the plot, admitted after his arrest that he wanted to enter the kindergarten, attack the children, and then take some hostage until police arrived, at which point he would attempt to kill the police officers.

The suspect also spoke highly of terrorist Mohamed Merah, the Islamic extremist who was behind the Toulouse and Montauban shootings that targetted French soldiers along with teachers and children at a Jewish school in 2012.

Italy: M5S Still Pressing Tria Over Banks, Bugno

Econ min, advisor reject quit calls

(ANSA) — Rome, April 3 — The anti-establishment 5-Star Movement (M5S) are still pressing Economy Minister Giovanni Tria to issue a decree compensating bilked bank savers and to get rid of an advisor who has been accused of being too cool towards the M5S-League government.

Claudia Bugno on Tuesday pulled out of a proposed job at STM Microelectronics because of the row but stayed on as an economy ministry advisor.

The M5S on Wednesday reiterated their demand that Bugno should quit.

Tria counter-attacked in Corriere della Sera newspaper saying “only trash has been launched against me” and rejected all notion of his quitting as well.

“That talk is nonsense,” he said.

“If I quit we’d have to see what the reaction of the markets would be”.

The centre-right and centre-left oppositions defended the ministers and said he was being subjected to “intimidation”.

Le Pen, Orban to Skip Salvini’s ‘Sovereignist’ Meet

French, Hungarian rightist leaders ‘not scheduled’ says League

(ANSA) — Rome, April 4 — French and Hungarian rightist leaders Marine Le Pen and Viktor Orban will not attend League leader and Deputy Premier Matteo Salvini’s meeting in Milan Monday aimed at forging a European-election alliance between ‘sovereigntist’ parties, sources said Thursday — while the League said their presence “was never envisaged”.

Le Pen will not attend the gathering, the spokesman for her National Rally party, Alain Vizier, told ANSA Thursday.

Le Pen is busy on the election trail, he said.

This weekend she will be in Brittany while next week she has other appointments in other parts of France, Vizier said.

Orban will also skip the meeting called by Euroskeptic and anti-migrant League leader Salvini, a source close to the Nepszava newspaper said Thursday.

Orban, the source said, does not want to break with the European People’s Party (EPP), and is hoping to avoid expulsion from it and steer it rightwards after the May European elections.

Therefore, the source said, he is “not interested” in Salvini’s initiative.

Interior Minister and Deputy Premier Salvini is organising an event in Milan to bring together “all European allies of the League” to “propose a reform to the European Union”, he said last month.

“About 20 movements to propose a new Europe of nations with,” Salvini said.

Among the ‘sovereigntist’ rightwing nationalist parties invited were Orban’s Fidesz, Le Pen’s National Rally (formerly Front National), Germany’s AfD, and Poland’s Law and Justice party.

AfD confirmed Thursday it would be attending Monday.

Salvini aims to forge a panEuropean alliance for the European elections at the end of May.

But Orban’s Fidesz is not sending any representative to the Milan gathering, the newspaper source said Thursday.

The League’s foreign chief Marco Zanni said after Le Pen and Orban’s moves that “on Monday Matteo Salvini will launch at a press conference his call for unity of all the parties that want to change this Europe and which are today present in the European Parliament although they are not in our political group.” He said Monday’s meeting would be “the first step towards enlarging our family.

“No division, no rudeness,” Zanni said.

League sources added: “the participation of Le Pen and Orban in Monday’s initiative was not envisaged.

“Our historical allies have been informed of all the initiatives and share our goals”.

Salvini said the news of Le Pen and Orban reportedly skipping the meeting was “surreal”.

“If someone was not invited and does not come I think that’s normal,” he said, branding the reports of the leaders allegedly pulling out “fake news”.

He said “Marine Le Pen isn’t there because it wasn’t envisaged, how can I be disappointed if I didn’t invite her.” In any case, he said, “I spoke to Viktor this week and I’ll see Marine tomorrow”.

The Hungarian Resistance

By Clifford D. May

[…]

For a thousand years, the lands inhabited by the Hungarian people have been invaded, their settlements sacked, men, women and children enslaved and slaughtered. Mongols, Ottomans, Nazis and Soviets were among those who conquered and ruled the Hungarians. Somehow, they’ve survived.

Hungarians today, a clear majority, believe their national existence — their unique identity, language, culture and traditions — is threatened again. This time, however, it is not by nomads on horseback or soldiers in tanks. It is by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the European Union.

In 2015, Mrs. Merkel decided, on her own initiative, to establish an open-door policy for “migrants” from the broader Middle East and Africa. Since then, she and other EU leaders have been pressuring Hungary to accept its “fair share.”

[…]

Here in Budapest just over a week ago, a conference was convened by the Mathias Corvinus Collegium, Hungary’s largest multidisciplinary college. Its title: “Migration: The Biggest Challenge of Our Time?”

A featured speaker was former Czech President Vaclav Klaus, who argued that there was no need for a question mark on the sentence above. He accused “European elites” of seeking to replace the continent’s existing nation-states with a single “European nation” and attempting to create a “truly European man, a Homo bruxellarum.” To accomplish that, he said, “They have to dissolve the old existing nations by mixing them with migrants from all over the world.”

He added: “Mass migration necessarily leads to substantial cultural, social and political conflicts, shocks and tensions. It touches upon fundamental aspects of citizenship, community and identity of our countries. The European political leaders pretend not to see it. This is unacceptable.”

Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy made clear that he didn’t quite agree but he defended “my friend Viktor Orban,” the controversial Hungarian prime minister, and called for compromise among the nations of a now “greatly divided” Europe.

Mr. Orban took the podium next. He observed that the population of Africa is predicted to rise by a half billion over the next 13 years, and that the gap between the quality of life in Africa and Europe will widen. He urged more economic assistance be given to Africans in their home countries.

He distinguished between asylum seekers — for whom Hungary has an application process in place — and other would-be immigrants, especially “men of military age, unarmed but in military style.”

The mainstream media mostly ignored the conference. The only CNN story I saw was headlined: “US sending diplomats to speak at migration summit — in hardline Hungary.” It criticized the Trump administration for not addressing “concerns over the spreading influence of far-right ultra nationalist parties on the continent.”

CNN is entitled to its opinions — though in days gone by distinguishing opinions from news was a skill its reporters and editors were expected to master.

Here’s my opinion: I think Hungarians have a right to make decisions for themselves, especially about issues likely to have profound and long-lasting economic, political, cultural and demographic impacts.

We all say we value diversity and pluralism. Doesn’t that imply that different peoples are entitled to make different choices? Hungarians make such choices by casting ballots. Last year, Mr. Orban won his third consecutive term in office, with a two-thirds majority in parliament. Oddly, however, democratic outcomes disapproved by the “elites” of whom Mr. Klaus spoke are reflexively disparaged as “populist” (or worse).

[…]

Opponents of mass migration are often called nationalists, a term meant to be pejorative, and often justified by the assertion that that it was nationalism that caused World War II and the Holocaust.

[…]

Can nationalism lead to hyper-nationalism, chauvinism and supremacism? Sure, just as having a cocktail before dinner can lead to alcoholism. But that’s no justification for the defamation of either.

In “The Virtue of Nationalism,” Israeli political philosopher Yoram Hazony argues that to be a nationalist simply means believing that the world is “governed best when nations are able to chart their own independent course, cultivating their own traditions and pursuing their own interests without interference.” Does that sound “far right ultra” to you?

Mr. Orban’s priority, and that of those who have been voting for him, is the preservation of what Mr. Hazony would call a “national collective characterized by bonds of mutual loyalty and unique inherited traditions.” Again, I ask: Is that so radical?

Hungarians, Mr. Orban said, “don’t want to change, we’d like to stay as we are. We have our faults, of course, which we’re happy to go about correcting, but in essence we don’t want to change.”

Mrs. Merkel and other EU leaders are not obliged to agree with that view. They might be wise, however, to tolerate it.

Saudi Arabia Boosts China Relationship With Economic Package

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman spent a few weeks last month touring Asian countries and striking economic deals with Pakistan, India, and China. He pledged to commit $20 billion of investment to Pakistan and set a goal of pouring $100 billion into India. Neither of these should come as much of a surprise, but the Chinese deal, worth $28 billion, is more intriguing.

Notably, Mohammed bin Salman worked to connect the Saudi Vision 2030 with Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Belt and Road Initiative. With each of their nations implementing radical economic programs, the meeting and partnership between the two comes at a critical moment. The two countries already have strong economic and even growing military ties…

Ukraine: Kiev Bans All Direct Flights to Russia

Even non-scheduled flights, which are already outlawed

(ANSA) — MOSCOW, APRIL 3 — The Ukrainian government banned all direct flights to Russia — even the non-scheduled ones, already outlawed — following the visit paid to Moscow by the presidential candidate Yuri Boiko and the president of the political council of the party called “Platform of opposition — For life” Viktor Medvedchuk. The Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov made the decision. The minister said that the two members of the opposition “used a loophole in the Ukrainian legislation” to take a direct flight to Moscow. He then added that the ministry would change the legislation in order to “make it impossible to operate non-scheduled flights between Ukraine and the aggressor country”. Avakov also said that the ban would not apply to flights operated by international organizations such as the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). $7 Billion in Equipment Looted From Former US Base in Afghanistan

The US handed over the Camp Kearney base in Paktika Province to the Afghan government in 2014, with an estimated $8 billion in equipment still inside. Today, the estimation is that about $1 billion worth of equipment is left.

So what happened between then and now that cost the site about $7 billion? Mass looting. The provincial governor says that former governors, local mayors, MPs, and commanders have all had a go at the site, and everyone has been entering the base and taking anything that isn’t nailed down.

Though he didn’t name names, pretty much everything was considered fair game, with military equipment stripped, vehicles stolen and sold off, and even locked containers full of weapons broken open and looted.

New Species of Skink From Angola Has Waited Over 70 Years to be Described

Researchers have finally described a new species of skink from Angola, specimens of which have lurked on museum shelves for more than 70 years.

Belgian herpetologist Raymond Laurent first suspected that he was dealing with a new species of skink back in the 1960s based on specimens collected from both Angola and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). However, Laurent decided to let his Belgian colleague Gaston de Witte, who had been the first to study the more-numerous DRC specimens in the 1950s, take the lead on describing the skink. As it turns out, neither of them got around to doing it in their lifetime.

Now, a team of researchers surveying amphibians and reptiles in Cangandala National Park (CNP) in Angola have formally described the long-tailed skink in a new study published in Zootaxa.

‘I Prefer Saying Migrant People Rather Than Migrants’ — Pope

‘Culture of adjective forgets substance’

VATICAN CITY — Pope Francis on Wednesday said he prefers using the term “migrant people” rather than “migrants” because the latter is an adjective while people is a noun. Speaking at a General Audience on Wednesday, the pontiff criticized the “culture of the adjective”: “We use many adjectives and often forget nouns, or substance. An adjective should be associated to a noun, a person — not migrants but a migrant person”, noted the pontiff, urging for respect.

Talking about his recent trip to Morocco, Francis said he devoted particular attention to the migration issue, both while talking to authorities and at a meeting dedicated to migrants.

“Some of them — he said — spoke about how life changes when they migrate and returns human” when they find a welcoming community, which is “fundamental”.

The pontiff noted that last December the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration was signed in Marrakech, Morocco — an important step for the international community to take responsibility.

He said the Holy See had offered its contribution, which can be summed up in four verbs — “welcoming, protecting, promoting and integrating”.

“He said the idea was not to provide assistance “from above” but to “walk together” through these four actions “to build cities and countries which, while preserving their respective cultural and religious identities, are open to differences and know how to give them value in the sign of human brotherhood”. The Church in Morocco is working for migrants, he said, thanking it and encouraging the generosity of those who provide assistance by following the words of Jesus Christ: “I was a stranger and you welcomed me”.

Illegal Migrant in Austria Says He Killed Woman Who Called His Penis ‘Too Small’

“She insulted my manhood, she said I do not even have hair on my chest.”

According to the defendant, the murder occurred after one of his arguments with the woman, he referred to as Rosa. Talking about their relationship, he claimed, as cited by the Austrian newspaper Der Standard, that he “loved this woman a lot”. Yet, after a wedding in accordance with religious laws last year, she allegedly no longer wanted to have sex with him. She also reportedly argued with him over his hashish consumption and had insulted him.

“She insulted my manhood, she said I do not even have hair on my chest”, the man told the court, also saying that he had thrown away the woman’s vibrator because it was “dangerous”.

He alleged that she also received male guests and had cheated on him.

“She cheated on me three times with other men and did not want to sleep with me anymore, and, at some point, she said my penis was too small”, he told a psychiatrist, according to the Austrian outlet Heute…

According to the couple’s neighbour, he heard the woman screaming “Save me, he wants to slaughter me!” before running to the apartment, opening it as the door was not locked, and seeing Daban slashing her. Then the man reportedly piled an armchair, table and, shawls over the lifeless body and left the flat calmly.

When the details of this grisly murder became public it raised questions about the Austrian asylum system, according to oe.24.

Vatican Cardinal Denounces Political Push for Open Borders

In an interview last week, Cardinal Robert Sarah, prefect of the Vatican’s Congregation of Divine Worship, condemned the present pontifical push for migration into Europe, saying that the Catholic Church should not support “this new form of slavery that is mass migration.” He said, “God never intended these fractures.”

The cardinal was indirectly rebutting Pope Francis’ political activism in telling Christian nations that they should open their borders to Islamic “refugees” and be more “welcoming.” Sarah said that using the Bible to promote migration constitutes a “false exegesis,” and said it is better “to help people flourish in their culture than to encourage them to come to Europe.”

In his recently published book titled Evening Draws Near and the Day is Nearly Over, the cardinal says it is wrong to “use the Word of God to promote migration” and laments the “collapse of the West,” as well as the “migratory processes” that threaten Europe’s identity.

According to Sarah, the stability of Christian Europe is indispensable for the peace and security of the world. “If Europe disappears, and with it the priceless values of the Old Continent, Islam will invade the world and we will completely change culture, anthropology, and moral vision,” he warned.

Wow, he really is dumb. He is basically saying the diameter of the rod for beating could be as much as 3.1415927 times the diameter of the man’s thumb. But we all know Creepy Uncle Joe is a hugger, not a beater.

      • In my former work as a crisis counselor at a domestic violence shelter, we heard that “rule of thumb” regarding wife-beating. I thought it was a handy wives’ tale then and still do. Wife-beating was accepted de facto, but not de jure, at least not in the 20th century.

What is of more interest was the first “professional” paper on the subject, done in the 60s in Massachusetts. The title was something like “The Wife Beater’s Wife”… it was odd, misogynistic “research”…basic conclusion was that she was frigid and implicitly deserved what she got. Never considered was the fact that intimacy in the face of violence is likely to produce what they found.

  3. From the first story under Financial Crisis:
“#1 Continuing jobless claims are rising at the fastest pace in 10 years.”

And the headline of the second story:
“US Weekly Jobless Claims Drop to the Lowest Level Since 1969”

Hmm, it would seem somebody’s reportage is not accurate. Since the first of the two stories is from a source called theeconomiccollapseblog.com I think I may have detected which version of jobless claims is the biased one, though of course both could be biased.
