Stocks End Week at New Highs as Good GDP Data Offsets Poor Earnings
Stocks rose slightly to end the week at new record highs Friday after better-than-expected first quarter economic growth data offset some disappointing earnings reports.
The S&P 500 and Nasdaq indexes both saw a new record high as better-than-expected earnings Amazon and Ford overshadowed disappointments for Intel and Exxon Mobil.
The S&P 500 index is up 17 percent year-to-date with first quarter earnings proving not as bad as investors feared after the Federal Reserve earlier this year decided to hold off on further interest rate rises.
First-quarter gross domestic product grew 3.2 percent, the Commerce Department said Friday morning, beating estimates for 2.5 percent growth, compared to a 2.2 percent increase in the last quarter of 2018. First quarter GDP growth was the fastest in six years.

Can the Islamization of America be Stopped?
The credit for the phrase “Islamization” should go to my friend, Pamela Gellar. Pamela has not only been active, but for the first time she came up with this word which correctly defines our state of affairs in America and elsewhere.
While some people prefer to refer to the violent version of Islam as “political” or “militant” Islam, I refused to accept this characterization. Why? Because I believe it is not “fanatical,” “radical,” or “extreme” Islam that we are fighting, but normal, orthodox, canonical, typical, accepted, traditional Islam, straight from the mouth of Muhammad. Islam is violent in direct proportion to its mission and scripture. The so-called fanatics and terrorists are only upholding the truth of their scripture.
Today, our country is faced with a strong opponent in the Trojan Horse called Islam. This clear and present danger makes it imperative to revisit the U.S. Constitution and see if freedom of religion gives Muslims a license to break other American laws.
I have also observed that more Americans have come to understand that Islam has established itself as a formidable enemy and recruits disenchanted and delusional liberals with its promises. Islam promises to bestow its beneficence on the faithful, conditional on the person’s total and unquestioned surrender to it in all matters. Some of the rewards offered by Islam to the truly obedient believers, particularly privileged males, are of this world, as well as a great deal more promised to them in the next.
The recent migration and redistribution of Muslims to non-Islamic lands and rising numbers by their high birth rate has worried some Americans. In addition, Muslims revert to their intolerance, for instance and demand legal status for Sharia (Islamic laws), the type of draconian laws that for the most part resemble those of man’s barbaric past. And this concerns many citizens.
Undoubtedly, there is no place on the planet where Muslims live that is at peace from the religion of peace. America, Spain, France, the Netherlands, England, Thailand, France, India and Indonesia have already been attacked, while others will lose their independence.

Former Attorney General Mukasey Shreds CNN for ‘Misleading People’ With Russia Conspiracy Theories
Retired US Attorney General Michael Mukasey slammed CNN on its own network for what he said was flawed coverage of the special counsel investigation into US President Donald Trump.

Former State Department Official Admits Spying for China
Pleads guilty to misleading investigators about contacts
A former State Department employee who held a top-secret clearance pleaded guilty Wednesday to misleading investigators about her contacts with Chinese intelligence agents.
Court documents accuse Candace Marie Claiborne, 63, of knowingly supplying information to Chinese intelligence agents in exchange for “tens of thousands of dollars in gifts and benefits” over a five-year period. According to the Justice Department , she received “Chinese New Year’s gifts, international travel and vacations, tuition at a Chinese fashion school, a fully furnished apartment, a monthly stipend and numerous cash payments.”
In exchange, Claiborne “provided copies of internal documents from the State Department on topics ranging from U.S. economic strategies to visits by dignitaries between the two countries,” the government said.

If You Don’t Know Your Rights You Don’t Have Any
Frequently today more and more people are no longer willing or capable of recognizing absolutes regarding the original identity of many things, including the republic we live in. Almost every time I hear someone call the United States a democracy, I cringe. It is mind boggling that people believe that our liberties and freedoms are sustained via democracy, or mob rule. Democracy is an open door to long term tyranny. When the Founding Fathers framed our republic, it was to reflect the policy of God almighty who recognizes everyone equally. They understood that in order to maintain true freedom and liberty, people from all racial backgrounds and economic status should have equal opportunity, not equal results.
The original intent of our republic was for morally strong individuals to live free, as they saw fit, so long as they did not infringe upon the rights of others. It was understood that the rights of one individual or group of individuals does not supersede the rights of another. Such a national arrangement insured a permanent national cohesiveness. Of course, there have always been certain people in the mix who did not and to this day do not appreciate God’s gift of liberty for “We the People”. It stems from their lack of a belief in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob who was the originator of the concept of individual liberty based on personal responsibility. Unfortunately, legions of leftists have been allowed to assume positions of power in every single sphere of influence beginning with the church.
Once the church was corrupted the other dominos were sure to tumble as well. I place the blame on those so-called good people who decades ago caved into the leftists and allowed them to poison every aspect of American society. The leftists have come so close to literally destroying your ability to keep your job, your house, your freedom to worship Christ, raise your children, etc. Even now, government officials and activists in California are trying to get pedophilia normalized and increasing numbers of Muslims are gaining positions of authority and influence.

They denied this country a president-in-full for two years, not just as a political vendetta but also to conceal what some of them had done. Mish: Boeing 737 Max Unsafe to Fly, New Scathing Report by Pilot, Software Designer
A pilot with 30 years of flying experience and 40 years of design experience rips decisions made by Boeing and the FAA.
Gregory Travis, a software developer and pilot for 30 years wrote a scathing report on the limitations of the 737, and the arrogance of software developers unfit to write airplane code.
Travis provides easy to understand explanations including a test you can do by sticking your hand out the window of a car to demonstrate stall speed.
Design shortcuts meant to make a new plane seem like an old, familiar one are to blame.
This was all about saving money. Boeing and the FAA pretend the 737-Max is the same aircraft as the original 737 that flew in 1967, over 50 years ago.
Travis was 3 years old at the time. Back then, the 737 was a smallish aircraft with smallish engines and relatively simple systems. The new 737 is large and complicated.
Boeing cut corners to save money. Cutting corners works until it fails spectacularly…
Aerodynamic and Software Malpractice

The original 737 had (by today’s standards) tiny little engines, which easily cleared the ground beneath the wings. As the 737 grew and was fitted with bigger engines, the clearance between the engines and the ground started to get a little…um, tight.
With the 737 Max, the situation became critical. The engines on the original 737 had a fan diameter (that of the intake blades on the engine) of just 100 centimeters (40 inches); those planned for the 737 Max have 176 cm. That’s a centerline difference of well over 30 cm (a foot), and you couldn’t “ovalize” the intake enough to hang the new engines beneath the wing without scraping the ground.
The solution was to extend the engine up and well in front of the wing. However, doing so also meant that the centerline of the engine’s thrust changed. Now, when the pilots applied power to the engine, the aircraft would have a significant propensity to “pitch up,” or raise its nose. This propensity to pitch up with power application thereby increased the risk that the airplane could stall when the pilots “punched it”
Worse still, because the engine nacelles were so far in front of the wing and so large, a power increase will cause them to actually produce lift, particularly at high angles of attack. So the nacelles make a bad problem worse.
I’ll say it again: In the 737 Max, the engine nacelles themselves can, at high angles of attack, work as a wing and produce lift. And the lift they produce is well ahead of the wing’s center of lift, meaning the nacelles will cause the 737 Max at a high angle of attack to go to a higher angle of attack. This is aerodynamic malpractice of the worst kind.
It violated that most ancient of aviation canons and probably violated the certification criteria of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. But instead of going back to the drawing board and getting the airframe hardware right, Boeing relied on something called the “Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System,” or MCAS.
[Comment: Highly recommended reading. Boeing at its height of 747 days still had engineers in top manamgement. Once the top management became riddled with “professional” managers and bean counters the company’s product suffered.]

Study: Green New Deal Would Have ‘No Effect’ On Climate Change
(DailyWire) Impact would be ‘barely distinguishable from zero’
Green New Deal proponents, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), have long claimed that the GND, an expansive, costly, and dramatic change in the American economy (and in American infrastructure), would be worth it if it such extreme measures would in the long run lessen our impact on climate.
Now, though, a new study from the American Enterprise Institute questions whether the Green New Deal would have any real impact on climate change at all — leaving it little more than an effort to dismantle industry.
The AEI report breaks down the GND into bite-sized policy proposals, assessing not simply the cost, but the proposed effectiveness of each legislative item to address the core goal of the GND: reducing American carbon emissions to a “net zero” by 2050.

French President Emmanuel Macron gave a rare press conference on Thursday, where he promised to cut taxes and institute other economic reforms as he attempts to reboot his presidency (as FT puts it).

Germany: ‘Allahu Akbar!’ Man Storms Church, Injures 9
Nine people were injured when a man screaming “Allahu Akbar” charged into a German church, reported the Jerusalem Post.
Marko Petrovic said he was pushed aside by the attacker at St. Paul’s Parish Church in Munich.
“The man ran past me, rammed my elbow into his side and called ‘ Allahu Akbar.’ He threw something. A few visitors, strong men, were able to pull him to the ground and hold him until the police arrived,” Petrovic said.
The Post said police described the man as a 36-year-old Somali. Police said the attacker “entered the church through the main entrance, gesticulating and shouting unintelligible words. In addition, he is said to have thrown several stones in the church.”
Reports that he said “Allahu Akbar,” which means “Allah is the greatest,” are under investigation, police said.

German Islamic State Woman Charged With Taking Slaves in Middle East
A 21-year-old German-Algerian woman who was captured in the Middle East after joining Islamic State has been charged in a German court for being a member of the group’s morality police and taking children as slaves.

Judge Faces Charges for Blocking ICE Arrest
Accused of facilitating escape of wanted illegal alien

A maritime museum in Scotland has been forced to change the pronouns of its ships to reflect ‘gender neutral’ codes of political correctness after offended SJWs vandalized signs for the second year in a row.
