Here is Ezra Levant’s report from today’s events in Cambridgeshire’s court at Tommy’s Trial. What he experienced is disturbing in the extreme:

I pray Ezra makes it back to Canada in one piece and on time. Evidently, he scared those itty bitty policemen.

The rest of us are glad that the U.S. Constitution exists, because it indirectly provides free speech for the rest of us, too.
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
Short and to the point, isn’t it?
I don’t think Gates of Vienna (and lots of other American websites) would be permitted to exist outside our borders. That’s why, when I read vitriol about Americans’ stupidity, vulgarity, etc., ad nauseam, I wonder if they aren’t protesting too much. A robust Constitution covers a multitude of sins.
One of the few characteristics that defines Canadian identity (such as it is) is a misplaced attitude of superiority, even contempt, toward America. The simple stupidity of this attitude baffles me (I sometimes ask my fellow Canadians if they would rather China or Russia, for example, shared a border with us).
Anyway, I’ve always strongly suspected that there is a large element of not so subtle envy underlying this ridiculous attitude toward )the US. In their hearts of hearts, they realize that America is truly something special – in a good sense. (But they’d never admit to this.)
Especially when you consider the EU “Constitution”…a grim, unreadable and sick joke against average people.
As a further comment, I’m far from sure that Ezra would get much better treatment in New Brunswick, Canada.
Most outrageous I’ve seen the court system in New Brunswick is to bar a litigant from access to his own court file. And to fabricate the existence of an order to this effect.
Yes. Ezra is already involved in a new and powerful attack from the Alberta government. It looks like he’s headed back to court to defend Rebel Media against politicians determined to destroy independent Canadian media.
