Greenwald: Coping Strategies for All Russiagate Peddlers Now in Mourning

The Intercept’s Glenn Greenwald has some advice for the mainstream media and pundit class, already in mourning — or perhaps in the initial “denial stage” of grief — on how to cope after it’s now glaringly evident that Mueller is to indict zero Americans for conspiring with Russia to influence the 2016 election.

Numbers Don’t Lie: Trump’s Free Speech Executive Order Could Cost Colleges Billions

In light of President Trump’s executive order directing government agencies to restrict and remove federal research funding from universities that infringe on students’ rights to free speech, Campus Reform compiled existing government data to determine exactly how much federal research money is doled out each year.

The National Science Foundation, a government agency, produces annual spending reports regarding government-funded research in higher education. Campus Reform analyzed the numerous sets of data from 2017 and created a single report with the most relevant statistics to create a reader-friendly, comprehensive document.

Twitter Bans User for Laughing at Rachel Maddow’s Tears of Despair Over Mueller Report

As left-wing news outlets were forced to cover the completion of the Mueller report sans high-level indictments (Trump Jr., for example), Rachel Maddow had a grand-mal meltdown after having been forced by MSNBC to cancel a fishing trip and drive in to work on a Friday night.

Maddow fought back tears as she reported on her own collapsing narrative, to which Twitter user ‘Karli Bonne’ (@kbq2251) posted a video of herself laughing at Maddow’s despair.

As the video began to go viral, Twitter suspended her account.

Montreal Priest Stabbed During Mass Leaves Hospital; Suspect to be Charged

MONTREAL — A Catholic priest who was stabbed as he was celebrating mass at Montreal’s St. Joseph’s Oratory is recovering at home.

A spokeswoman for the church says Rev. Claude Grou was released from hospital last night and says he is doing well under the circumstances.

The incident began shortly after 8:30 a.m. yesterday when a man with a knife rushed the sanctuary of the landmark church and stabbed 77-year-old Grou, the Oratory’s rector.

A 26-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is expected to appear in court later today to face charges that have yet to be announced, but could range anywhere from assault to attempted murder.

The 18th week of rallies was also marked by clashes with the police, with the protesters acting aggressively and provocatively.

Italy: Toninelli Rapped for Buying Diesel, Not Electric Car

‘Beyond madness, not polluting’ says minister

(ANSA) — Rome, March 18 — Transport Minister Danilo Toninelli has been rapped for preaching the use of electric cars and buying a diesel one himself.

“You can’t beat Toninelli: he says he wants to incentivise electric cars and says he has just bought a diesel car. He’s still the number one, absolute #genius”, tweeted Democratic Party MP Alessia Morani, referring to an Italian TV news report in which the minister says he has bought a second-hand diesel Jeep Compass for his family.

“Now they’re talking about me buying a car, it’s beyond madness,” Toninelli reacted.

    • I like The Apostate Prophet’s videos so thanks for reminding me. It would be most helpful, though, if you would either give the title for any YouTube video or cut and paste the brief explanation that goes with it. In this case, it would be:

“The Christchurch Mosque Massacre Blame Game”

Since the Christchurch Mosque attack happened, many people and the media have been trying to blame and attack everyone they could think of. Many think that “Islamophobia” and anti-Islamic or anti-Muslim speech is responsible, but is it really?

The 5,000+ comments are worth reading, too.

  1. “…They’ve found a way to reverse rats’ dependency on alcohol by blasting particular neurons in their brains with laser beams — a change they likened to the “flip of a switch”…” – next will come a “cure” for “toxic masculinity”.

    • Oppressed by their own governments and the terrifying fear of muslums, the whole abject Cowardly trembling Continent has waxed hypocritical and base. It has no character no shape, has turned into an amoeba. Cannot stand for anything cannot defend any idea or principle.

Has melted into the body of jihadis.

The Sick, miserable, hope- forlorn Continent’s cities are being divided into loots by victors.

  2. To Prime Minister Theresa, Come What, May,
Fain that kingly crown upon thy brow doest heavily weigh.

  3. Re: German politician fears Farage leading “anti-elite parties” in EU elections.

That’s largely the bloody point, dumkopf!

I was disappointed that the comments on the poetry posts were closed so quickly, Baron. If I may sneak in an uncontroversial one, in discussing Louis MacNeice, you refer to his contemporary William Empson. When Leonard Bernstein was the Charles Eliot Norton Professor of Poetry at his alma mater, Harvard, in the 1970s, he gave a series of lectures entitled “The Unanswered Question” (available on DVD), with fascinating insights into the relationship between poetry and music; he recommended Empson’s book “Seven Types of Ambiguity”. It’s not the easiest read for a bear of little brain like me, but worth it.

    • I’m a fan of Empson’s work, at least some of it. He was still teaching at Sheffield when my girlfriend was there in the early ’70s.
