A growing number of states, counties, cities, and towns are declaring themselves “Second Amendment Sanctuaries” and are refusing to enforce gun-control laws that infringe on the Constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

While adopting ordinances and resolutions to defy gun laws isn’t a new tactic, momentum is rapidly building — likely in response to increasing calls for more gun control at state and federal levels.

“It’s a S*** Show”: Likelihood of UK Crashing Out of EU Next Week is Higher Than it Has Ever Been

UK Prime Minister Theresa May must enjoy ritual humiliation, because despite warnings from European Council President Donald Tusk that the EU likely wouldn’t accept May’s request for a brief Brexit extension, the Prime Minister traveled all the way to Brussels on Thursday so she could hear the EU27’s rejection in person. The bloc is insisting that it won’t authorize an Article 50 extension unless a meaningful vote on May’s deal succeeds (it has already been rejected twice, both times by historic margins), yet May has continued to grovel, because, at this point, it’s all she can do (other than resign, that is).

Italy: Rome Assembly President De Vito Arrested

M5S member accused of corruption over Roma stadium, market revamp

(ANSA) — Rome, March 20 — Marcello De Vito, the president of the Rome city council assembly and a member of the 5-Star Movement (M5S), was arrested by Carabinieri police on Wednesday in relation to a probe into AS Roma’s project to build a new stadium in the city and a market revamp, sources said. Two entrepreneurs were also arrested.

The probe is into alleged crimes including corruption and illegal influence peddling, the sources said.

Deputy Premier and Labour and Industry Minister Luigi Di Maio said De Vito was being ejected from his M5S party.

“Marcello De Vito is out of the 5-Star Movement. I take the responsibility for this decision,” M5S leader Di Maio said via Facebook.

“What has emerged over the last few hours (in relation to the probe) it not just serious, it is shameful, morally low and an insult to all of us, each spokesperson for the Movement in the public institutions and every activist who works so hard every day for this project”.

Rome Mayor Virginia Raggi, also of the M5S, said that wrongdoers should get no leniency after De Vito’s arrest.

“No leniency. There is no space for corruption in Rome,” said Raggi. “Those who have done wrong will not have any leniency from this administration”.

De Vito has already been replaced by another M5S member, former assembly deputy chief Enrico Stefàno, sources said later.

Stefàno was picked by the M5S caucus and Mayor Raggi, they said.

De Vito was arrested for suspected corruption in connection with the AS Roma stadium project and another project, the revamp of the former general markets area.

Wiretaps say De Vito received bribes on the latter from the Toti construction brothers.

On one wiretap, De Vito is heard to say “let’s distribute the money”. The other entrepreneur involved, lawyer Camillo Mezzacapo, advised De Vito “not to touch the money now but when your mandate is over”.

De Vito also told Mezzacapo that “even the Gabibbo would have won in Rome”, referring to a costumed satirical figure involved in TV expose’s.

Haftar ‘Crucial for National Conference in Libya’

But ‘overly powerful general is a problem’, Cristiani

(ANSAmed) — CAIRO, MARCH 21 — Libyan general Khalifa Haftar will have a crucial role in the success of the Libyan “national conference” announced on Wednesday by UN Special Representative Ghassan Salamé, North Africa expert Dario Cristiani said. “Salamé’s announcement shows, I think, once again, a sort of strange conceptual dissonance between the strategic reality on the ground and the political reality of diplomacy,” Cristiani said. The expert is a visiting fellow at the International Centre for Policing and Security of the University of South Wales.

“From a methodological standpoint,” he added, “Salamé’s approach is correct: the solution to Libya’s problems must be a Libyan solution”, with “an approach that focuses on the variegated territorial, social, and political forces as political players and possibly the only ones, without external intervention.” The expert underscored, however, that there are still many players involved and that “squaring of the circle in this context is difficult”. Moreover, in Cristiani’s eyes, “there is a fundamental problem that is still unresolved and which is at the root of this dissonance” between ‘diplomacy’ and ‘on the ground’, that Haftar “has by now such power” at the territorial and economic levels as well as “support from outside” — compared with Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj and other Libyans — “that finding a lasting and stable political agreement with such a sword of Damocles hanging overhead is a difficult if not impossible task”. Cristiani, who is also an analyst for the Washington-based Jamestown Foundation, noted that “with Haftar’s advance in the south (now successful, whereas two years ago he had failed and the Brak al-Shatti massacre forced him to withdraw), there is a clear lack of balance of the forces on the field. From this point of view, any agreement in which there is one player that is clearly much too much stronger than others, will always be a harbinger of instability”. The analyst added that, therefore, “we are at a dead end”, with on one side “a political agreement that officially recognizes that Haftar’s centrality on the ground will lead to a series of problems, especially in Tripoli with local militias who feel in danger”, and on the other an agreement that “ignores” this centrality of the Cyrenaica-based general “will cause further escalation” in his military operations in an attempt “to take direct control not only of territory in western Libya but also of creating problems for fundamental institutions that at the moment can influence” but “not control”. The reference is to such entities as the Libyan National Oil Company (NOC) and the Libyan central Bank, “control of which has long been a goal for Haftar”, the analyst said.

Canada Sees Largest Influx of Immigrants Since 1913

Though the mainstream media (and many in Congress) has largely dismissed President Trump’s cries about an emergency along the US southern border, even the New York Times and Washington Post have acknowledged in recent weeks that the number of migrants crossing the southern border is climbing rapidly. As the number of apprehensions have increased, the situation has gotten so bad that the administration has decided to start releasing some migrant families because its detention facilities along the border have become so crowded.

And as it turns out, migration is surging north of the border as well, as Canada’s statistics agency reported on Thursday that the country experienced the largest inflow of migrants in more than a century last year. Though the figures excluded illegal migrants (who have also reportedly been entering the country in record numbers), more than 320,000 people migrated to Canada last year, with more than 71,000 arriving in the final quarter — including legal refugees attracted by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s “open door” policy.

Adriana: A Couple of Wins for Free Speech

For far too long colleges and universities have been stifling free speech on campus, contrary to the notion that higher education is supposed to promote a free flow of ideas. Thanks to political correctness spreading like a noxious weed from one liberal campus to the next, free speech has been under assault.

The good guys — College Republicans and everyone else who values the free speech enshrined in the U.S. Constitution — notched a victory this week at Amherst College when its president shot down its own Office of Diversity and Inclusion’s “Common Language Guide” it emailed to students which laid out PC definitions for everything from capitalism to transgenderism to how to address illegal immigrants, or as they prefer it, “undocumented persons.”

U.S. Bishops Denounce ‘Equality Act’ In Letter to Congress

Three leaders of the U.S. Bishops Conference (USCCB) have written a joint letter to the members of the House of Representatives in opposition to the Equality Act, which, they say, “would impose sweeping regulations to the detriment of society as a whole.”

The Equality Act (H.R. 5 / S. 788) was introduced in Congress on March 13 and would add the new terms “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” to the definition of “sex” in federal civil rights laws. The Act would reportedly cement “gender ideology” into federal law, impacting issues such as transgender bathrooms, forced preferred pronoun use, and biological men playing women’s sports.

UK: Catholic Journalist Criminally Investigated for ‘Using the Wrong Pronoun’ In Tweet

British police are now dedicated entirely to fighting perceived and imagined microaggressions on social media.

From Faithwire:

A British Catholic journalist is being investigated by the police for allegedly “misgendering” someone in a tweet. Caroline Farrow was contacted by authorities after making an appearance on “Good Morning Britain,” in which she engaged in a debate with a transgender activist, Susie Green, who has a trans child. Following this appearance, which took place last September, Farrow allegedly referred to Green’s daughter, Jackie, by the wrong pronoun.

‘Flat Earthers’ Planning Bizarre Antarctica Trip to Prove Conspiracy Theory

Conspiracy theorists are heading to the “end of the world” in a bizarre bid to prove the Earth isn’t a sphere.

The “Flat Earthers” plan is to sail to Antarctica to find the frozen barrier they believe marks the edge of our world.

The supposed “ice wall” is said to be a couple thousand feet thick, towers 164 feet high and surrounds the entire planet.

Next year’s trip — details of which are being kept under wraps — is being organized by the Flat Earth International Conference (FEIC).

  1. The world wide connection of Brenton Tarrant, the killer in Christchurch, New Zealand, so that all are aware of why New Zealand is fast tracking many changes in free/hate speech, media control, gun control, islamophobia and Identity like White Supremacists.

It is often the case that current laws were not fully enforced, as gun licensing in NZ.
That then allows the excuse to bring in extreme regulations.

Politicians plan a major attack on the 2nd amendment. Will the federal system be able to leverage and then override States, cities and towns that claim 2nd amendment sanctuary?

Directly following this tragedy, a gun control bill vote looms in the US Senate.

After New Zealand announced that they would ban the sale of all semi-automatic rifles, Bernie Sanders tweeted, “This is what real action to stop gun violence looks like. We must follow New Zealand’s lead, take on the NRA and ban the sale and distribution of assault weapons in the United States.” ….. Directly following this tragedy, a gun control bill vote looms in the US Senate.

MOVEMENT UNDERWAY TO KEEP POLICE VOTE AWAY FROM TRUMP IN 2020
The Senate Bill 7, named the Extreme Risk Protection Order and Violence Prevention Act of 2019 introduced by Marco Rubio is just that bill. The Senate Judiciary Committee led by Republican Senator Lindsay Graham is holding a hearing on March 26, 2019 at 10:00 am to move this bill to the floor for a vote. Senator Chuck Schumer has garnered support for the bill with 48 votes. Three Republican Senators, Rubio, Graham, and Collins, will likely add to the 48 yes votes to give a majority 51 votes needed to pass the bill. https://www.lawenforcementtoday.com/politicians-just-planned-a-major-attack-on-the-2nd-amendment/?fbclid=IwAR1rD8noDBZ7fkva75ehpCNB-Xq_ChL0PCWPZAuyHEQ6sCQqJQP3DGShexs

Sadly the USA seems to be dividing up, and I think some of ways how it falls out may be very surprising. Hopefully it stays a competition of ideas, and the truth and commonsense shines through.

    • Bernie, as per usual, is completely out of reality again: banning any kind of weapon makes sense only in a society that follows laws without questions by their own free will (which, in our world, probably only fits Japan and perhaps Sweden 50 years ago). A society where criminals will ignore laws has no reason to ban weapons. It’s quite the opposite, really, a society like that (and I find it extremely fitting for America’s state of affairs) needs to have armed citizens, so that they can protect themselves from harm. But I know all too well protecting citizens isn’t what Bernie’s about.

    • In Russia, weapons are mostly banned. But where do Caucasian jihadists get grenades and automatic rifles from?

Strange news comes from the USA. There is a shaking of the foundations of the state and the unnerving of the population. This is a bad sign.

But we see that empires do not collapse by themselves – it is a man-made process, not historical dialectics, as we were taught in the Soviet school.
In Ancient Rome, too, were their Soros.

  2. “Kiwis Are Encouraged to Wear Headscarves to Show Their Support for Muslims Following the Christchurch Mosque Massacre” sure, let’s do this! As soon as all muslimas unveil themselves in support of Christians, pagans, atheists, Hindus, Buddhists, etc. after every muslim attack on them.

  3. “Just 37 firearms have been surrendered to police in New Zealand following the Christchurch mosque massacre, raising questions as to how thousands of semi-automatic weapons will now be confiscated following the passage of an emergency law that makes them illegal.” I guess it’s always possible to keep a weapon that’s been turned disfunctional and then later make it functional again or get a historic riffle for collection purposes and make that one functional and I imagine that’s what the owners are going to be doing now, I doubt a sane person would just hand their gun over like that and the insane ones will ignore the law anyway…

  4. In Tatarstan, a man attacked two policemen

Going to the police officer, the young man stabbed him in the neck. At this point, colleagues heard a scream and ran out to see what was the matter. Seeing a bleeding colleague and inadequate walking on them with a blade in hand, who shouted extremist and religious slogans at the same time, the police officer opened fire and fatally injured the killer with two bullets.

The culprit turned out to be 19-year-old student Rustam Kodirov (not a Slavic name).
    =================
I did not find in any link what kind of “extremist and religious slogans” they were.

Maybe it was Yogov’s witnesses who called for yoga (Jehovah’s Witnesses sect was banned in Russia), maybe it was a communist who shouted “Glory to the CPSU”, maybe a Christian confused calendar dates and shouted “Christ is Risen” (although we are not Pakistan to consider it extremism), the media does not write …

  5. Watched the NZ action(psss…dont tell the kiwis!)
The guy passed at least five person before entering the building and let them get away.
Counted the shots, that was a sharpshooter for sure. 41 hits with fifty some rounds. Whoa!
Hardly any shots went to the right side of the room, but still ended up with a decent pile of bodies.
The walls are made of bulletproof materials, not a slight mist of dust, which means good building codes.
Perp let off two shots through the windshild of his car, not a scretch. He was testing the glass if it were bulletproof, surely.
The third shot going to the passenger’s window shattered the glass, but those windows are not safety glasses, ie. made of two layers glued together.
And to prove the government efficiencies, the Gun-ban legislation was ready and passed in less than a week.
