Turkey Enters First Recession Since the Financial Crisis

While not exactly a surprise after its currency tumbled in 2018 as inflation soared, interest rates jumped, credit collapsed and the country was briefly targeted by US sanctions, overnight Turkey reported that its GDP tumbled by 2.4% last quarter in line with expectations, following a decline of 1.6% in Q3, officially entering a recession for the first time since the financial crisis.

What if Politics Can’t Fix What’s Broken?

The unspoken assumption of the modern era is that politics can fix whatever is broken: whatever is broken in society or the economy can be fixed by some political policy or political process— becoming more inclusionary, seeking non-partisan middle ground, etc.

What if this assumption is flat-out wrong? What is politics is incapable of fixing what’s broken? What if politics merely fosters an illusion of solutions, a paper-thin veneer of faux progress? What if politics isn’t a tool that’s capable of fixing what’s broken? What if all politics is able to do is generate delusions of grandeur and unresolvable conflicts? What if politics is ultimately little more than a fatal distraction?

This is of course heresy of the highest order, for a belief in the supremacy of politics is the secular religion of our era. The orthodoxy is: there is no problem that can’t be solved with a political policy: a tax cut, a new tax, a new incentive, a broader definition of criminality, and so on.

What if the status quo is failing for reasons that are beyond the reach of politics? Politics assumes that tweaking incentives and disincentives via rewards and punishments, centralizing control of assets and income streams and manipulating the issuance of currency and interest rates can fix any and every problem.

The limits of politics are the limits of government. In the present era, all government seeks to further centralize power and capital because the era’s quasi-religious belief is that centralization is the solution to everything.

This is of course false. Centralization works until it becomes the problem, at which point further centralization of power and capital only speeds system-wide failure.

Government can force certain things but it can’t force everything. Government can encourage borrowing but it can’t force its citizens to borrow. Government can force the expansion of currency, but it can’t force the valuation of that currency.

Government can mandate this and that, but it can’t force a negative return on investment (ROI) to magically become positive. Government can prohibit and tax and force outward compliance, but it can’t force people to agree with policies that run counter to their beliefs.

Government can’t rescue a status quo which is failing due to negative return on investment (ROI), gross inefficiencies, the loss of trust in corrupt institutions , and all the other ills that are intrinsic to centralization of power and capital.

As a result, the greater the government’s power, the greater the polarization as the self-serving elites seek to protect their share of the pie as the pie shrinks. Each camp becomes increasingly extreme, and compromise is recognized as a process that erodes every camp’s power and income.

DC Rot, Guns and the Economy

Rep. Gerald Nadler (D-NJ) is now going after a whopping 81 individuals in his search for anything to bolster the sure to come impeachment hearings in the House against Trump.

Ex-Trump Aide Refuses To Comply With Democrats’ “Fishing Expedition” — Everyone on Nadler’s list should do the same thing — call his bluff. Refuse to allow that braying ass to bankrupt them in legal fees and try to entrap them (perjury) for something they didn’t do — like Gen. Michael Flynn who continues to be tortured:

Michael Flynn’s Sentencing Delayed By Judge Sullivan After Plea Of Lying To FBI — The rotten SOB in the black robe had the GALL to say what he did in court about Gen. Flynn. My impression is that he would like to throw Gen. Flynn in prison for years and ignore the plea bargain. One of the major players who belongs in prison is Robert Mueller.

READ: The FBI Collusion To Destroy General Michael T. Flynn

Gen. Flynn did NOT lie to the FBI. They threatened specific members of his family and then literally drowned him in legal bills trying to stay out of prison…

A Serious Question for the NRA by Dr. Edwin Vieira:

“As regular readers of my commentaries know, from time to time I have written about the National Rifle Association’s curious misreading of the Second Amendment—to wit, that the Amendment’s first thirteen words (“[a] well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State”) have no significance with respect to the interpretation and application of the Amendment’s last fourteen words (“the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”). According to the NRA, the Second Amendment secures “the individual right to keep and bear arms”, to which “[a] well regulated Militia” is irrelevant.

“I must describe the NRA’s fixation as a most curious misreading of the Second Amendment because, if “the individual right to keep and bear arms” is irrelevant to “[a] well regulated Militia”, then by dint of the NRA’s own linguistic logic “the individual right to keep and bear arms” must be equally irrelevant to “the security of a free State” to which the Amendment declares that such a Militia is “necessary”. If so, then the NRA’s reading of the Amendment is at odds with its contention that “the individual right to keep and bear arms” guarantees Americans the wherewithal to preserve “the Blessings of Liberty” promised by the Constitution in its Preamble. For, if “the individual right to keep and bear arms” is as irrelevant to “the security of a free State” as it supposedly is to “[a] well regulated Militia”, it passes understanding that it could guarantee any aspect of “a free State”, including especially the “Liberty” of that State’s citizens.

“This apparent conundrum is, of course, not the product of the Constitution. For, according to the most basic rules of constitutional interpretation, the NRA’s construction of the Second Amendment is impossible.”

Edwin wrote yet another book on this issue only this one is quite short. If every damn ‘conservative’ in the 50 state capitols read this book, we would be in a whole different world by now. Get it and read it, you won’t be sorry. Then tell your Second Amendment friends to get off their butts and go for the ONLY solution instead of more litigation. Thirteen Words, 122 pgs.

Democrats and CNN Collude to Rig Elections

The Media have truly become Pravda. Instead of presenting truth and facts, they are pumping out propaganda in support of their political allies.

As an outside observer it has been distressing to see the extent to which the American mainstream media has colluded with the Democratic Party in a two year campaign to impeach a duly elected president on patently false charges of colluding with the Russians to win the 2016 Presidential Campaign.

Trump is an Army of One

Then along came Donald Trump, previously a member of each political party at different times in his life when such party affiliation served his interests. The truth was he was never a Democrat or a Republican, at least as they are defined today. Instead he is a problem solver, beholden to no one and not part of the political establishment. His loyalty is only to America and those who voted for him, not to the donor classes and globalist elites.

Seeking the presidency, he understood the folly of running as a third-party candidate, at least officially, although in reality he was very much a third-party candidate, joining the GOP as the lessor of two evils. He was not part of either party’s ruling cabal, having never held elective office or political appointment. He did not campaign or arrive at the White House with an entourage of advisors and staff, from previous stints as a governor or senator. Trump was an army of one.

China/Italy: No to Colonisation on Belt and Road — Salvini

Careful to defend national interests say PM’s office sources

(ANSA) — Milan, march 11 — The possible Italo-Chinese memorandum of understanding on the Belt and Road Initiative or ‘new Silk Road’ cannot lead to the colonisation of Italy, Deputy Premier and League leader Matteo Salvini said Monday, prompting government partner the 5-Star Movement (M5S) to accuse the League of being “split” on the huge project.

Salvini said Cabinet Secretary Giancarlo Giorgetti had explained that the memorandum must safeguard Italy’s strategic interests and “this is the position of the whole League,” Salvini said.

“It it’s a matter of helping Italian companies to invest abroad we are willing to talk to anyone,” Salvini said.

“If it’s a question of colonising Italy and its firms by foreign powers, no. And the treatment of sensitive data is a national interest. Therefore the issue of telecommunications and the treatment of data cannot be merely economic”.

The League is split on Italy’s memorandum of understanding with China on the Belt and Road Initiative but the 5-Star Movement is solidly with businesses on it, M5S sources told ANSA Monday.

“We’re sorry about this internal split because it hurts our businesses and Made in Italy,” the sources said.

“We are working to make sure that companies and business associations urge us to make an effort to bring Italy into the Chinese market and not to submit to it”.

They said League leader Salvini had spoken of colonisation while Industry Undersecretary Michele Geraci, also of the League, “strongly supports the agreement”.

Government sources said Premier Giuseppe Conte was ready to sign the memorandum.

Sources at the premier’s office said Monday “in the collaboration with China, as with any other country, we place the utmost attention on the defence of our national interests, the protection of strategic infrastructure, including that of telecommunications, and therefore cybersecurity. “The text (of the possible memorandum on the Belt and Road Initiative, BRI, or ‘Silk Road’), at Italy’s request, sets out with great clarity this possible collaboration in the principles, dear to the EU, of transparency and financial and environmental sustainability”.

The sources said the Italian initiative on the BRI, “sets out on an economic and commercial plane, does not redesign the framework of our political relations and the euro Atlantic placement of our country”.

The possible memorandum of understanding between Italy and China on the Belt and Road Initiative, dubbed ‘the new Silk Road’, does not include any deal on 5G technology, the industry ministry said Monday.

In February, it said, Industry Minister Luigi Di Maio set up a national evaluation and certification centre to assess “the conditions of safety and security and the absence of vulnerabilities in products, equipment, and systems destined to be used for the functioning of networks, services and strategic infrastructures, as well as all other operators for which a national interest exists”.

Italy: TELT Okays TAV Tenders, M5S Say Project Won’t Happen

Piedmont industrialists attack ‘fake news’ about rail link

(ANSA) — Rome, March 11 — The board of TELT, the Italian-French company building the tunnel for the TAV Turin-Lyon high-speed rail link, on Monday approved a call for tenders for work in relation to the project. The tenders had been on hold since February 19.

At the weekend Premier Giuseppe Conte came up with a compromise that stopped the issue of whether to continue with the TAV from plunging the executive into crisis, at least for the moment.

Conte told TELT that the call for tenders could be launched but activity implicating financial commitments from Rome should not begin until Italy has renegotiated the agreement for the project. Deputy Premier and Labour and Industry Minister Luigi Di Maio’s 5-Star Movement (M5S) wants the project ditched on cost and environmental grounds. But fellow Deputy Premier, Interior Minister and League leader Matteo Salvini says it should go ahead. “In the light of what has emerged over the last few days, it is clear that the TAV will not happen,” Foreign Ministry Undersecretary and M5S member Manlio Di Stefano told La7 television on Monday.

Italy needs new public works “but only those that are really needed,” Premier Giuseppe Conte said referring to the TAV. Conte said that many Italians were “obsessed” by the TAV but “I have a bigger problem: the recovery of Italy, launching a system of infrastructure in Italy”.

The Piedmont branch of Italian industrialists confederation Confindustria, meanwhile, said Monday that it was launching a media campaign to combat fake news about the TAV. Confindustria Piemonte said the project was “strategic for the competitiveness of the manufacturing system and for the modernization of the communication network than connects Italy to Europe”. The campaign features short videos in which Piedmont entrepreneurs give information about the TAV project.

The study has also revealed that 86.95 % of the recruitment offices owners see that the law failed to provide a positive connection between the recruitment offices and the domestic workers department , and 78.25 % think that the new terms and conditions to issue or renew a work permit so as to practice their recruitment business are an injustice , complicated terms…

[Comment: Modern-day slavery. “Employers” (masters) take the passports and other documents of “domestic workers” (slaves, in many cases sexual slaves) so they are not able to run away. Trying to escape, many “domestic workers” (servants working 24/7 for years) fall from windows or balconies, die or remain disabled. Others manage to run away but cannot exit the country, and thus fall into the hands of brothel keepers, illegal employers etc. This is the situation in all rich Gulf countries that have the statute of “major allies” of the USA.]

Ukraine Puts Al Bano on Its Black List

Italian singer considered ‘threat to national security’

(ANSA) — Moscow, March 11 — Ukraine’s culture ministry has put Italian singer Albano Carrisi, better known by his stage name Al Bano, on its list of individuals considered a threat to national security, Interfax reported on Monday. The list, compiled and updated by the culture ministry on the basis of requests by various other public agencies, is currently made up of 147 people. Al Bano and his ex-wife Romina Power were big in the Soviet Union in the 1980s and they are still popular in Russia. “I swear to me that it is a bolt from the blue,” the singer told ANSA.

“Quite simply I have never done anything either against Ukraine or against any other country in the world”.

“I go, I sing my songs, I sing about peace and I have always presented myself as a man of peace. And I will continue to be one because I believe in it”. He added: “I think Putin has done a really great job for Russia, but I don’t want to go into the merits.

He said he had been “perfect” on Syria in “blocking Obama who wanted to declare war on Syria”.

Asked about the civilian victims in Syria Moscow is accused of causing, he said “sadly the craziest thing in the world is war”.

“We should remove the word war from the human vocabulary.

Only then could we regard ourselves as human”.

Border Patrol Commanders Uncover Secret Democrats’ Lies and the Media’s ‘Fake News’ About Immigration

President Donald Trump’s top border official sternly reported to those Democrats in Congress that the only ‘fake news’ being spouted by the leftist water carriers in the media is calling what’s going on at the southwest border anything less than a crisis. Carla Provost testified before the House Judiciary Committee and said, “There is an ongoing debate whether this constitutes a border security crisis or a humanitarian crisis.” Trump’s border chief claims that the U.S. Congress and the American people must understand that both are true: It is at once a national security crisis and a humanitarian crisis.

Chief Provost told the committee members that they must “look at what’s happening on the ground” rather than playing with the numbers and statistics which many believe is the M.O. (Modus Operandi) of the Democratic Party and their media cohorts.

Top 5 border falsehoods pushed by Congressional Democrats and the media:…

Democrats Vote to Give Illegal Immigrants the Right to Vote

Update: House Democrats voted Friday to defend localities that allow illegal immigrants to vote in their elections, turning back a GOP attempt to discourage the practice. As The Washington Times reports, the vote marks a stunning reversal from just six months ago, when the chamber — then under GOP control — voted to decry illegal immigrant voting.

“We are prepared to open up the political process and let all of the people come in,” Rep. John Lewis, a Georgia Democrat and hero of the civil rights movement, told colleagues as he led opposition to the GOP measure.

Texas Republican. Rep. Dan Crenshaw raged:

“It sounds like I’m making it up. What kind of government would cancel the vote of its own citizens, and replace it with noncitizens?”

Exclusive — President Donald Trump on Immigration: ‘I Don’t Want to Have Anyone Coming in That’s on Welfare’

President Donald Trump, in an exclusive Oval Office interview with Breitbart News on Monday afternoon, said he does not want immigrants coming to the United States to be dependent on welfare programs.

“I don’t want to have anyone coming in that’s on welfare,” Trump told Breitbart News in the more-than-40-minute interview in the Oval Office on Monday afternoon. “We have a problem, because we have politicians that are not strong, or they have bad intentions, or they want to get votes, because they think if they come in they’re going to vote Democrat, you know, for the most part.”

Trump’s answer came in response to Breitbart News editor-in-chief Alexander Marlow citing a statistic from a report the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) published in December that over 60 percent of non-citizen families entering the United States end up on welfare. The report found that 63 percent of non-citizen households end up on welfare, whereas just 35 percent of native-born American households end up on welfare—a major disparity.

Why is Congress Importing a Permanent Underclass?

Do you know that our U.S. Congress, based in Washington DC, and totally out of touch with what their actions are doing to middle-class Americans, continues to import one million legal immigrants from the third world onto our shores, annually? Do you realize they allow another 500,000 illegal aliens to jump our borders, annually? That’s over 100,000 immigrants every 30 days. (Sources: www.NumbersUSA.org ; www.CIS.org)

Do you realize that Congress allows 22 to 25 million illegal aliens to remain in our country without fear of deportation? (Source: Yale University Study, Oct 2018) How do they do that? Congress refuses to enforce Federal Law Section 8 USC 1324, within our nation. In fact, employers of illegal aliens do not face arrest, prosecution or prison because your two senators and House member refuse to do their jobs.

What do you pay? According the latest figures at www.FAIR.org , you pay $113,000,000,000.00 (billion) annually to maintain those illegals as to educating and feeding their children, along with medical care, and ESL courses, plus 12 agencies who must address this invasion with your money.

But that’s not all, each state pays into the millions of dollars for illegals operating in their area. Illegal migrants cost Michigan $928 million in 2018. In California, it’s into the billions of dollars as they feature over four million illegal aliens and possible as high as six million. They’re slithering into welfare offices in all the major cities around America.

Progressive Magazine Asks: “Are Pedophiles Too Sick for Punishment?”

In recent months there has been a push, especially on social media platforms, to make pedophilia an acceptable activity in American society.

Rather than considering the molestation and sexual assault of children a crime, some are suggesting that pedophilia is a sexual orientation, like being straight or gay.

And though that may sound completely ridiculous to the casual observer, California Democrats actually introduced a bill in their State legislature ensuring that convicted pedophiles and those who commit sexual crimes against children do not have to register on the sex offenders registry so long as the child in question is within 10 years of age of the perpetrator.

Slowly and methodically, those who want to decriminalize the predatory sexual abuse committed by pedophiles are tacitly doing so one state government bill at a time…

As if that isn’t bad enough, we now have one of the nation’s most well known online publications asking what is perhaps one of the most ludicrous questions we’ve ever heard asked: Is Pedophilia a Crime or an Illness?

We’d like to think that the answer to this question is, “both.”

But Slate takes takes this even further, asking whether pedophiles should be punished for their mental illness.

That’s like asking whether a deranged serial killer should be punished for his or her actions. A serial killer has a mental illness, but does that mean it’s okay to let them walk among us so long as they seek treatment for their crimes?

  1. “If we could form a network of those young leaders, not just in the United States, but around the world, then we got something,” said Obama, adding: “if we can train a million Baracks and Michelles who are running around thinking they can change the world,” they will fulfill the ‘hope and change’ agenda, said Obama

Can you imagine, a million Barracks and Michaels?

The ego-centricity is strong with this one!

    • And by the Pirate and Lucifer, the gods of the west Obama is right. It feels that the world and even USA are paying attention to Hussein and Michelle more that the President, and people feel that Hussein is still in power de facto.

His body and her body left the WH but in reality their spirits are engulfing the WH and inspiring Peolsi, the leader of the Somali House.

  2. EU Prez: UK’s Experience of Leaving EU Will Serve as a ‘Deterrent’ To Others

😊😊😊 😉👍👍👍🍺🍺🍺 Good one, Prez, now all of the freedom loving peoples of Europe no longer have any doubt what you are about and what you have planned for them.

Once we’re gone, even if we have to hang a considerable number of our parliamentary traitors first to get there, the other leave inclined countries will know what to do…just two fingers up and walk – no ‘negotiating’, no grovelling, no mega hand outs to fund your pensions, no more open borders, just that old fashioned love of freedom on the hoof.

    What’s not to like?

P.S. Did Drunker give you permission to let that cat out of the bag?

  3. Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House, said, “He’s just not worth it.”

Following the rule that you don’t bring a bill to the floor if you don’t have the votes, this translates as, “A bill of impeachment wouldn’t be successful, and its failure to pass would give Trump crowing points.”

    • Green, you are exactly right. That’s how clever people should be:

to listen to what they don’t say but to extract it based on what they say.

This understanding their intentions and predicting what they hide for us in the future.

Superficiality is the killer rampant disease of the west in general and the dhimmis in particular: The useful idiots: Useful to our enemies and called idiots by our enemies for not knowing that they are Traitors.

And listen to the words the lowlife implement: Not worth it. Did these creatures spend their first 20 years as street vagabonds to use this sort of language against the most sensible US loyal president?

What’s blinding them from seeing the noble intentions of this President? Why is it so difficult for urchins to understand that if there is no border controls, legions of invaders will come: one million a week. When that million arrives the four wives will churn out two million: You see the wisdom of having 4 jihadi producing wombs. ? Do you see how dhimmis cannot wrap their heads around this?

Since when the western bfrains have become so mushy? (real meaning and figurative)?

Enemies and enmities are friends and friendship.

Friends and logical reasoning and common sense are our enemies.

      No wonder i l h a n is dictating the House policies.
