Illinois’ Lethal Combination: Rising Property Taxes & Stagnant Incomes

Authored by Ted Dabrowski and John Klingner via WirePoints.com

A lethal combination of rising property taxes and stagnant incomes has forced many Illinoisans to rethink their relationship with their state. More than 1.5 million net residents have already fled the state since 2000 — and you can’t blame others for thinking about joining them.

Property taxes have become punitive in Illinois. We’ve written about how these taxes have destroyed the equity in people’s homes across the state. Many families have done the math, and whether they’re in the struggling south suburbs of Chicago or the affluent North Shore, they’ve decided to leave Illinois behind.

Edina High School Students Help Find New Butterfly Species

To get through the long winters, Minnesotans often fantasize about tropical locales. For a group of Edina High School students, memories of last summer’s historic trip to Fiji should do the trick.

They weren’t there for fun in the sun, but instead, on a research mission leading to the discovery of a new butterfly species, the Natewa swallowtail, named after the peninsula where it was found. The school-based educational trip teamed the students with scientists last July as the group collected data for the potential creation of a national park on the peninsula. They recorded tree data to count the amount of carbon in the area, they counted mongoose — an invasive species in the area — and captured and banded silktail birds that hadn’t been spotted since the 1970s, according to Lindsey Smaka, the Edina High School chemistry teacher who led the students.

But the scientific contribution that garnered the most attention was the students’ help in finding the new butterfly species, the third swallowtail butterfly to be identified in the region.

Retired Detectives Say Gang of Serial Killers is Responsible for at Least 70 ‘Accidental’ Drownings

A team of retired detectives believes a series of deaths that authorities ruled accidental is actually the work of a sophisticated gang of serial killers.

The retired detectives, a group called Global Death Investigations, have given the alleged group of killers a name, the smiley face killers, and say they might be responsible for about 100 deaths since 1997 across the U.S. authorities officially labeled as accidental drownings. The deceased all bear similar profiles: College-aged white males, athletic and intelligent, who never returned from a night out drinking and whose bodies were later found either in a body of water or washed up on shore.

Tom Williams: Catholic Diocese Rushed to Judge Covington Students

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Covington rushed to condemn a group of Catholic students sporting MAGA hats at the March for Life whom the media accused of mocking and harassing a Native American man. But the story was fake news.

Video footage belies reports that the students from Covington Catholic High School “taunted” and “harassed” Nathan Phillips, who was present in Washington, DC, for the first Indigenous Peoples March on Friday.

Help: Rachel Notley is Coming to Kill the Rebel!

Rachel Notley and the NDP government of Alberta have finally made their move against The Rebel. They are prosecuting us for what we have said about them.

They’re using an enforcer, Melanie Malchuk, who used to work for the Alberta Human Rights Commission, the censors who prosecuted Ezra years ago for publishing the Danish cartoons of Mohammed. They have given her a special contract to lead the investigation against us.

Notley wants to shut down The Rebel before the 2019 election — she knows The Rebel has been their most effective critics, and the NDP will do anything to silence us.

Notley’s pre-emptive legal attack on The Rebel.

On January 14, 2019, the Government of Alberta put The Rebel on trial — but they didn’t tell us. They convicted us in our absence. And even then, they still didn’t tell us, but this hired gun of theirs, Melanie Malchuk, started contacting our vendors, interfering in our contracts with those businesses, and threatening to come after those businesses if they didn’t comply.

We didn’t even learn about this from the government — we had to hear it from the Alberta businesses who were threatened. We still actually don’t know the details of any complaints against us. We weren’t there when we were convicted, we weren’t invited. It has all been done in secret. Just like the human rights commission attacks. Here’s some background.

The day after we were convicted we finally received an e-mail from the government of Alberta telling us we had been convicted in absentia of being a political campaign organization, not journalists. They proposed to fine us $5,500 (Click here to read the surprising letter telling us we were tried, convicted and fined $5,500.) because our criticisms of Rachel Notley are illegal, because they’re not journalistic views, they claim, but rather they are political campaign views and have to be treated as campaign spending.

We publish our journalism in every medium — online, in video format, in radio ads, on lawn signs, on billboards, in best-selling books, and even in documentaries. Notley is saying that makes us a campaign organization, not journalists. We disagree, and we refuse to let her silence us.

France: I Am Angry, Therefore I Am

“We are angry!” This is the sentence that I have repeatedly heard from Gilets Jaunes (Yellow Vests) demonstrators during the past three weeks while taking the political temperature in France. The assertion seems to refute my first diagnostic in a column last month that the movement reflected boredom rather than anger.

Having talked to dozens of rioters and observed some of their shenanigans including burning car tires, overturning parked cars and smashing shop-windows in posh streets, I am prepared to admit that both anger and boredom might be involved.

Italy: Self-Defence Law to be Approved by End of Feb — Salvini

Job of being a robber will be harder says interior minister

(ANSA) — Rome, January 18 — The government’s bill on legitimate-self-defence will be approved by the end of February, Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Matteo Salvini said on Friday. The bill would introduce rules similar to the US stand-your-ground laws where virtually all forms of self-defence on one’s property against intruders are deemed legitimate.

“Many people are asking me when parliament will approve the legitimate-defence law after years of chatter,” said League leader Salvini.

“(The answer is) by the end of February. The aim is to (protect) the sacrosanct right to legitimate defence of good citizens, shopkeepers, entrepreneurs and farmers.

“This will be recognised by the Italian law by the end of February. “The job of being a robber will be a little more difficult and a little more risky”. Francesco Minisci, the president of the Italian magistrates union ANM, recently warned that the bill risked “legitimizing serious illegal conduct, including homicide”.

He also said there was the danger that the bill could be “unconstitutional”.

The Yellow Vest Movement Has Gone Global

The Yellow Vest anti-government movement started in France on November 17, when over 300,000 people across France protested a carbon tax on fuel that French President Emmanuel Macron touted as evidence of France’s leadership when it comes to mitigating climate change.

The Yellow Vest protests quickly evolved into a general anti-government movement — with hundreds of thousands of angry French citizens taking to the streets for ten straight weeks of mostly peaceful protests marked with pockets of violence, looting and mayhem.

What’s more — the movement has gone worldwide — with perhaps the most notable protests outside France taking place in Belgium, where Brussels riot cops have dealt with week after week of protesters blocking oil depot and throwing hard objectsat them.

Death Toll Reaches 85 in Mexico Fuel Pipeline Fire Horror

TLAHUELILPAN, Mexico — People in the town where a gasoline explosion killed at least 85 people say the section of pipeline that gushed fuel has been a habitual gathering site for thieves, repeatedly damaged and patched like a trusty pair of jeans.

[…]

By Sunday evening, the death toll blaze had risen to 85, with 58 others hospitalized, federal Health Minister Jorge Alcocer said. Dozens more were listed as missing.

Soldiers formed a perimeter around an area the size of a soccer field where townspeople were incinerated by the fireball, reduced to clumps of ash and bones. Officials suggested Sunday that fields like this, where people were clearly complicit with the crime of fuel theft, could be seized by the government.

But Attorney General Alejandro Gertz ruled out bringing charges against townspeople who merely collected spilled fuel, and in particular those hospitalized for burns. “Look, we are not going to victimize the communities,” he said. “We are going to search for those responsible for the acts that have generated this tragedy.”

The disaster came just three weeks after President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador launched an offensive against fuel theft gangs that had drilled dangerous, illegal taps into pipelines an astounding 12,581 times in the first 10 months of 2018, an average of about 42 per day. The crackdown has led to fuel scarcity at gas stations throughout the country due to shifts in distribution, both licit and illicit…

  2. Is this the beginning of New Zealand to receive many of the economic migrants that they signed up to in the UN migration Pact?
Will these migrants find succor and aid via the UN and NZ stepping up to the plate to provide safer transport?

Now hundreds are following others that made it to Australia, but these ones think New Zealand is a better bet.

New Zealand since the country was considered more welcoming to refugees than Australia. While being investigated, Prabhu had reportedly quoted media reports about New Zealand increasing the annual refugee quota from 1,000 to 1,500 in July 2020.
    https://indianexpress.com/article/india/abandoned-bags-deepen-mystery-migrants-headed-new-zealand-5546699/

It seems that NZ baited the hook in increasing its refugee quota.
NZ also signed the UN migrant pact.

Certainly not a cruise I would look forward with about 200 passengers. Probably looking to refuel, Christmas Island or Australia and continue on.
Then the welcome mat of assistance will happen. fishing boat named ‘Devamatha’ [2 years old] in cash while in Cherai. They further acquired around Rs 10 lakh worth of 12,000 litres of diesel and five 1,000-litre capacity water tanks.

Further, the group also purchased medicine supply for about a month. https://www.timesnownews.com/india/article/12k-litres-of-diesel-5-water-tanks-medicines-for-a-month-mystery-of-50-vanishing-from-kerala-coast-baffles/347809

The Indian authorities too late to capture these economic migrants, as they have a bit of a head start. [I hear they are now out of Indian jurisdiction]
Will the Australian navy re-provision and refuel them?
Will the Captain’s call be for the NZ navy to assist and shepherd them across the Tasman?
Well NZ have signed the UN pact, so are obligated to help. NGO’s and bureaucracies will be cheering this on.

I doubt it is direct to NZ, but now with recognized UN migrant pact, it will prove interesting how this will work out.
Particularly as Australia have said no, and NZ has said yes.
So Australia could well be with in its rights to whistle up the Indian navy to assist, or will the NZ navy be called?
Who will call the Australian navy heartless if they call up the Indian navy?
Or will it be much easier to whistle up NZ navy etc.?

“They were mostly families, with children in the age group of 6 months to 8 years. “Five women were pregnant. One woman had a baby near a hospital near Kochi,” sources added. https://worldnewsnetwork.co.in/2019/01/15/50-missing-from-kerala-smuggled-to-australian-islands-times-of-india/

The heart strings of ‘feelz’ will probably make an urgency of “Lets do this” and take them in, and not stress out the pregnant, the babies, woman and children.
The international “snakes” will be looking to the success, and then “Lets do this” to setting up some more boats and charging even more for those “travellers”.

“More visuals of Dayamatha Boat | Munambam human trafficking”
    1min 29sec.
It is all spoken in a native Indian language.
The scene is of the boat having completed a refit.
It seems that it may have been refitted, but it does not say when.
Looks to be approximately 40 maybe 50 feet in length and seems reasonably substantial, though I would like it to be ‘wof’ by the NZ maritime division, if I was to sail on it and just to go fishing.
Others may know more, or can interpret what is spoken.
    ———-
Well they are far at sea now.

“We made an aerial attempt to search for the missing boat. Our efforts are still in progress. But, since the navy and coast guard received the information about this incident late, its just an attempt—a futile attempt.”

While conflicting media reports have said that the group was on its way to Australia, New Zealand and the Christmas Islands, DySP Raveendranath said it is currently impossible to know the intended destination of those in the boats. https://www.thenewsminute.com/article/explainer-human-trafficking-racket-kochi-coast-has-kerala-police-worried-95365

Seems like a number are on the way. So is it NZ or bust?

Kerala police received information that the boat carrying 230 people suspected of human trafficking has moved to Indonesian coast. It is learned that the boat which sailed to New Zealand changed its destination due to shortage of food and fuel. ……
crossed India’s maritime boundary line, said reports. ……
Police assume that the boat is moving close to Indonesian coast as it is difficult to sail 47 days of journey [to NZ] without halting the boat [for re-provisioning]. ……
    Read more at: https://english.mathrubhumi.com/news/crime-beat/human-trafficking-boat-shifts-destination-to-indonesia-due-to-fuel-food-shortage-kerala-1.3500971

The numbers of migrants seem to vary from a minimum of about 40, sometimes 80 and other times over 200.
It is a sturdy substantial boat, but the higher the number of people on it, would make it difficult with rations, water and cooking.
Diesel would definitely need a top up and to get with in striking distance of NZ, and if able to see when a good high comes onto the the Tasman Sea.
Though I think that some of NZ’s local NGO’s and “welcomers” maybe out to meet them and aid them.

From what I can glean, and understand the boat cost 1.5 crores, which I figure is about US 220,000 ? dollars.
Figured the boat to be about 2 years old.
So it seems to be a sturdy enough boat, but simply over crowded even if only 40 or 80 people on, but if it is as in some reports with 230, then a desperation will be always be nigh.

I have gleaned that the migrants paid 2 lakr close to US $4000? dollars per person.
With a sum of money like that, it seems that the “snakes” are well resourced if the boat is running with over 200 people.
Now will the snakes honour and have set ups for refueling and re-provisioning, or just take the money, as one of the head snakes has a swiss bank account when is house was raided.
How convenient for some of the NZ leaders being in Davos Switzerland. Now that you will be in Davos, can you have that swiss bank account cleaned out, or at least that account stopped. or are you ok with “snakes” smugglers? and only want to regularize them? 🙂

  3. Every time I read that “they have been arrested” … I sigh. That doesn’t mean intercepted or sent back!! That means rescued, medicated if necessary – with offers of food, medicine and even birthing !!!

What good does it do to “intercept” these vermin if we are going to nurse them and let them loose on our populations?!?!

  4. Every time I read that “they have been arrested” … I swear and stomp my feet.

Intercepted doesn’t mean SHIPPED BACK – It means rescued, medicated if necessary – with offers of food, medicine and even birthing !!!

What good does it do to “intercept” these vermin if we are going to nurse them and let them loose on our populations?!?!

I want machine guns on the borders here in the states. There are thousands of them pouring into New Mexico … the churches on the border are full, and now the state is being asked for food and doctors.

    [redacted]…..

  5. Re: migrants to NZ: perhaps the Davis crowd currently building in NZ need servants that locals won’t do?

    • The government had plans to plant a billion trees with in ten years to help make NZ. “carbon free”.
Over a year since the election and seem to be about 130 million behind target.
There is talk of bringing in some migrant labour as the locals do not want to shift around, and be out in the weather, and besides the Government with “kiwibuild” will set aside a house. The benefit, supplementary accommodation allowances, children’s benefit, dog allowance, emergency grants, rates etc.. Life is good when you choom.

New tax proposal’s to come out soon.
All people to access a bank need verified photo ID.
      Same for lawyer.
      Similiar for accountant.
Had to have my accountant supply financial report to the bank, for just a change in Overdraft detail.
I struck this twice in buying a new vehicle.
All say they know me, but now it is a requirement by the government.

It appears to me that if these migrants survive they will pioneer and push the legalize of New Zealand sovereignty and extend precedents of the UN migration Pact.
