Gates of Vienna News Feed 1/17/2019

Just before she was scheduled to leave the country on a junket, President Trump told House Speaker Nancy Pelosi that she would not be allowed to use military aircraft, due to the government shutdown. Mr. Trump said it would be a good thing if she were to stay in Washington and work on negotiating an end to the impasse over the border wall, but if she wanted to take a commercial flight abroad, that was her prerogative.

In other news, when raiding homes of suspected gang members in Gothenburg, Swedish police found automatic weapons, grenades, and other explosives.

Democrats Put Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Financial Services Committee, Overseeing Banks and Money

The House Democrats have assigned Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who advocates a 70-percent marginal tax rate, to serve on the House Financial Services Committee.

The committee oversees banks, insurance, international finance and credit.

On her twitter account today, Ocasio-Cortez has put out multiple message celebrating her assignment.

“Financial Services is one of just four exclusive committees in the House,” she said in one Tweet. “It oversees big banks, lending & the financial sector. I am very grateful for the opportunity to sit on this committee as a freshman, and look forward to working under the leadership of @RepMaxineWaters!”

“I can’t stress how important this moment is,” she said in another Tweet.

All Levels of Herbicide in Food, Beverages Unsafe — Report

Proponents of GMOs and Glyphosate-based herbicides and staunch believers in the EPA have long argued that low levels of glyphosate exposure are safe for humans.

Even our own EPA tells us that Americans can consume 17 times more glyphosate in our drinking water than European residents. The EWG asserts that 160 ppb of glyphosate found in breakfast cereal is safe for a child to consume due to their own safety assessments, and yet renowned scientists and health advocates have long stated that no level is safe. Confusion amongst consumers and the media is rampant.

Glyphosate is the declared active chemical ingredient in Roundup and Ranger Pro, which are both manufactured by Monsanto, the original manufacturer of Agent Orange and DDT. There are 750 brands of glyphosate-based herbicides. Glyphosate based herbicides are the most widely used in the world and residues of glyphosate have been found in tap water, children’s urine, breast milk, chips, snacks, beer, wine, cereals, eggs, oatmeal, wheat products, and most conventional foods tested…

It is Time to Set the Record Straight

Here are 12 reasons why there is no safe level of glyphosate herbicide residue in our food or beverages.

[Comment: Roundup is used as a dessicant on crops right before they are harvested. Stopping this would significantly reduce glyphosate in the food supply.]

Five Weeks After the Guardian’s Viral Blockbuster Assange-Manafort Scoop, No Evidence Has Emerged — Just Stonewalling

FIVE WEEKS AGO, The Guardian published one of the most extraordinary and significant bombshells in the now two-plus-year-old Trump-Russia saga. “Donald Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort held secret talks with Julian Assange inside the Ecuadorian embassy in London, and visited around the time he joined Trump’s campaign,” claimed reporter and best-selling “Collusion” author Luke Harding, Dan Collyns, and a very sketchy third person whose name was bizarrely scrubbed from The Guardian’s byline for its online version but appeared in the print version: Fernando Villavicencio, described by the Washington Post, discussing this mysterious discrepancy, as “an Ecuadoran journalist and activist.”

Immigration Group Files Suit to Force Southern Poverty Law Center Revoke ‘Hate’ Label

One of the most prominent groups advocating for stricter immigration went to court Wednesday to demand a judge order the Southern Poverty Law Center to stop labeling it a “hate group,” accusing the self-described watchdog of running an illegal racket to silence political opponents.

The Center for Immigration Studies says the SPLC’s accusations that it is racist and anti-immigrant are wrong and have cost the nonprofit support and financial backing by scaring people away from doing business with the center.

The center brought its challenge to U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia by filing a civil complaint under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act against SPLC President Richard Cohen and Heidi Beirich, who runs the group’s Hatewatch blog.

Ocasio-Cortez Threatens: Dems Going to Politically Gangbang Republicans

‘Enjoy being exhausted for the next two years while we run train on the progressive agenda,’ she tells GOP

Socialist congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) evoked some provocative imagery after mocking Republicans, telling them to “enjoy being exhausted for the next two years while we run train on the progressive agenda.”

The phrase “run train” generally means to “gangbang” someone with several people, in colloquial terms.

The freshman congresswoman made the eyebrow-raising remarks during an extensive interview with The Washington Post, where she asserted that conservative media is turning her into “another boogeyman on the left.”…

It’s unclear whether Ocasio-Cortez knew that she made a sexually provocative reference, but the context suggests she has no patience for Republicans and is eager to ram the far-left agenda down the throats of the American people, such as her proposal to hike the top tax rate to 70%.

Understanding Why the Deep State Had to Take Down General Michael Flynn

The despicable and unethical attack on Flynn immediately after his appointment by Trump was just one element of a shameful Deep State campaign to discredit and destroy the Trump presidency. As Trump’s national security adviser, Flynn had Trump’s ear. He was potentially the Deep State’s worst nightmare. Flynn knows in detail how the Intelligence Community and the FISA courts operate. With a 33-year military career, including heading up the Defense Intelligence Agency, Flynn was an existential threat to outgoing President Obama and his shameless and highly partisan CIA director, John Brennan, who cynically and criminally corrupted the Intelligence Community for political purposes on behalf of Obama and Hillary Clinton.

The Conservative Tree House linked Flynn’s fall from grace to his knowledge of what happened in Benghazi. Flynn knew how they lied and covered up the disaster that cost four American lives, including an ambassador’s…

In addition to Trump’s appointment of Flynn as national security adviser, Trump had also named Sebastian Gorka as a deputy assistant. Gorka washed out of the Trump administration in a few short months after accusations from the Deep State and academia that he was a fringe academic with questionable credentials. It’s no coincidence that Gorka, an internationally prominent and highly respected authority on counterterrorism, had published a book with a similar theme to Flynn’s: Defeating Jihad: The Winnable War.

Flynn and Gorka represented the first time senior government officials at the White House level were willing and able to enunciate and lead America’s war against radical Islam. The globalists were horrified at the idea of this sort of thinking at the White House level, which some claimed could offend or alienate America’s Muslim allies, particularly Saudi Arabia, which has been a primary funder and enabler of Wahhabism, a fundamentalist and militant sect of Islam.

WikiLeaks Hits $50,000 in Donations, Enough to Start Suing Guardian Over Assange-Manafort ‘Scoop’

WikiLeaks says it has collected enough funds to file a lawsuit against the Guardian for publishing an uncorroborated story about alleged meetings between former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and Julian Assange.

The whistleblowing website has thanked all its supporters who contributed to its GoFundMe campaign, launched on November 27 following the publication of an article by the Guardian, which claimed that US President Donald Trump’s disgraced former campaign manager Paul Manafort had held secret talks with Julian Assange at least three times in the Ecuadorean embassy in London, where the Australian has been holed up since 2012.

The donations have recently hit the $50,000 threshold, enabling the whistleblowing site to formally launch proceedings against the renowned British newspaper, WikiLeaks said, calling on its supporters to keep the money flowing.

“Legal action will now commence (but more is required to complete),” it tweeted on Monday.

Mandel: New Questions Arise About Danforth Shooting

Enough rounds of ammunition to kill hundreds. Donations to a mosque fund in Pakistan. An Islamic headdress. Conspiracy DVDs that dispute al-Qaeda’s role in 9/11.

For almost six months, speculation has been rampant about what caused Faisal Hussain to indiscriminately open fire on innocent citizens on the Danforth this past July, a horrific mass shooting that ended with the murders of 18-year-old Reese Fallon and 10-year-old Julianna Kozis and the injuring of 13 others before the 29-year-old turned the gun on himself.

Macron and the Fall of France

The demographic and cultural transformation of France has been one of the main issues of concern for the yellow vest protesters who started demonstrating in November over a gas tax hike in the most heavily taxed nation in Europe. They have been supported by 80% of the French people. While 80% also believe that immigration should be stopped or much more strongly controlled, President Emmanuel Macron has chosen to ignore the views of the people he was elected to represent and has turned out to be one of Europe’s strongest proponents of mass migration from the Third World. The increase in violent crime and terrorism and the huge public expense incurred in providing state benefits to migrants does not seem to be of any great concern to him.

In an interview conducted in April 2018, Macron stated that due to explosive third-world population growth, Europe will be entering an age of unprecedented mass migration from Africa and that the people of the two continents have a shared destiny. He was referring to an estimate that within the next few decades, the number of Africans living in Europe will increase from nine million to as many as 200 million.

Strasbourg: Capital of the EU and “The Future of Europe”

“New York, Geneva and Strasbourg are the only cities in the world which are home to international institutions without being national capitals”, an official page of the French city proudly proclaims. “The choice of Strasbourg as the European capital following the Second World War is no accident. The city stands as a shining symbol of reconciliation between peoples and of the future of Europe”.

Last December, however, Strasbourg was shocked by a new terrorist attack. Cherif Chekatt, shouting “Allahu Akbar”, murdered five people, before being neutralized in a two-day manhunt. Among Chekatt’s victims were Italian, Polish and French citizens. Unfortunately, Strasbourg has become one of Europe’s hotbeds of jihadism, an ideology seemingly aimed at destroying Europe’s people, not conciliating with them.

Kuwait: Our Information Ministry in the 21st Century?

By Ali Ahmed Al-Baghli Former Minister of Oil

WE nicknamed our Ministry of Information as the ‘Ministry of Jalaal Al-Din Al-Rumi’ after one of its senior officials issued an order to prohibit the thinker Al-Rumi from delivering a speech at the Kuwait (Ban) Books Exhibition years ago.

The official and his assistants missed the fact that the unique thinker they were barring from giving a speech died centuries ago, but his enlightening thoughts and ideas continue to frustrate influential individuals among Muslim Brotherhood and Salafist fundamentalists here in Kuwait (only).

The objective of the official was to avoid infuriating individuals and groups that promote outdated ideas through this decision which is unprecedented globally.

We saw how the current officials in the Information Ministry censored artistic and literary works — whether visual, audio, written or sketch works. I am not exaggerating when I say this censorship bonanza affected even sketch works.

One of the outdated fundamentalist MPs in our Parliament recently lashed out at a caricature.

Indeed, this is how intellectual, cultural and academic levels deteriorated in the era of those who are in charge of our laws and decisions in the executive and legislative authorities.

The latest creation of the ministry is its decision to establish a children’s television channel in the coming months and this is happening in the 21st century — in 2019.

According experts, children aged two to 10 years old these days are not watching various television programs like we or the children in past decades used to do.

Today’s child is glued to his phone or iPad. Even when eating, we see children being eager to go back to these devices which we have been tempted with.

These devices could be a blessing and a curse at the same time; blessing in the sense that various devices such as telephone, computer, radio, television and games are combined in a single palm-sized device which we can put in our pocket when we are no longer using it.

However, the device is also a curse in the sense that it has prevented us from having direct communication with our families, friends and loved ones. It has preoccupied us such that we no longer read, watch television, follow radio programs and many other things we did in the beautiful days of the past.

The millions of dinars which will be spent on the new children’s television channel will unfortunately go to waste just like other hundreds of millions that went through corruption tunnels and unnecessary spending.

I advise the information official who issued or is convinced with this idea of a children’s television channel to rethink and review his decision. He should contemplate ideas published by young experts and other relevant opinions regarding unfeasibility and failure in advance.

Finland Rocked by Explosive ‘Migrant Grooming Gang’ Crisis

Shockwaves are rippling through Finland amid a slew of revelations indicating migrant ‘grooming gangs’ are preying on children under the age of 15.

The Nordic nation was initially rocked by the arrests of seven ‘foreign’ men in December who were charged with repeatedly gang raping a 10-year-old in Oulu. The men had all arrived in Finland as migrants or ‘refugees.’

A broader scandal now appears to be blowing wide open as Finnish police have announced investigations into multiple similar incidents in Oulu and Helsinki, and Finland’s president and prime minister have both been forced to address the matter.

“It is unbearable that some people who have asked for and even received asylum from us have brought evil here and created insecurity here,” said President Sauli Niinistö said in a statement earlier this week.

Prime Minister Juha Sipilä announced the government will hold emergency meetings next week.

Pair Accused in B.C. Woman’s ‘Honour Killing’ To be Extradited Within Days

Arrangements are now being made to extradite the B.C. pair accused of masterminding the so-called honour killing of Jaswinder (Jassi) Sidhu to India to face trial.

Malkit Sidhu and Surjit Badesha — Jassi Sidhu’s mother and uncle — lost their last-ditch effort at a stay of extradition proceedings last month.

Malkit Sidhu and Badesha are accused of planning Jassi Sidhu’s murder because she ignored the family’s wishes and married a poor rickshaw driver.

Jassi Sidhu, 25, had her throat slit and body dumped in a canal after she and her new husband were attacked by a group of armed men during a trip to India in 2000.

‘Disrespectful’: Google Employees Melt Down Over the Word ‘Family’

A Google executive sparked a fierce backlash from employees by using the word “family” in a weekly, company-wide presentation, according to internal documents obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation.

Many Google employees became angry that the term was used while discussing a product aimed at children, because it implied that families have children, the documents show. The backlash grew large enough that a Google vice president addressed the controversy and solicited feedback on how the company could become more inclusive.

Today’s Democrats: Anti-Christian, Anti-Israel, Anti-God

Anyone who considers himself a friend of God must have at least great pause when it comes to modern Democrats. Seldom has a major American political party so distanced itself from the notion that, as President John Adams pointed out, “righteousness exalteth a nation but sin is a reproach to any people.”

This is what happens when “live your truth” is the prevailing moral position. No one should be surprised that politicians who support the “right” to kill children in the womb, who championed the legal redefinition of marriage, and who now pretend we can no longer rely on science, or common sense, or even simply our eyes to tell us who is a male and who is a female, would display open animus against people whose faith tells them such positions are immoral, and who live according to the notion that there is such a thing as absolute truth.

If something is immoral, then perhaps it should be illegal. If there is such a thing as absolute truth, then perhaps our laws should reflect that truth. Democrats just can’t take the chance that such thinking will prevail. Thus, unless Christians can manage to get themselves elected, our role in our government is increasingly imperiled.

It’s Climate Alarmists Who Remain in Denial

It’s hard to believe that we’re just shy of ten years since contents of the so-called “Climategate” folder revealed the fraudulence of the anthropogenic global warming (AGW) scare. Yet, somehow, Climate Alarmists continue to behave as though it was all an innocent misunderstanding; that all evidence of lying, cheating, and exaggeration aside, anyone who doubts the self-serving drivel alarmists have been pushing is a “denier.”

And yet it is they, the climate hucksters, who continue to refuse any honest debate on the subject, resorting instead to the same worn out tactics of the pre-Climategate era: false claims of a “consensus” and demonization of dissenting opinions and facts. Those of you who have been paying attention know that you can fertilize your lawn with claims of “consensus.”

At a time when the realists’ science is the sounder by far; when alarmists’ dire warnings of imminent disaster have been exposed as the exaggerated globaloney they are; when energy experts have analyzed and cast serious doubt on alarmists’ renewable energy proposals, how can those taking a rational position possibly be called the “deniers”?

Thousands of New Microbiome Species Found Living on the Human Body

In the largest study of its kind, scientists have uncovered thousands of new species inhabiting the human microbiome — the extensive collection of bacteria, viruses and other micro-organisms that reside all over our bodies, influencing our health. And most of the newly discovered bugs live in and on people from non-Westernized populations. The discovery redefines scientists’ understanding of the human microbiome and could shed light on the increasing incidence of allergies, autoimmune diseases and other complex syndromes of the Westernized world, the researchers say.

  1. Pelosi must be fuming by now. Imagine being grounded like a little child by this… this orange lout with the weird hairdo. She will dig in her heels and the shutdown will continue. Until the maximum number of days has been reached and all those non-essential furloughed federal employees can be sacked. Again she stepped in the trap Trump set for her leaving her with egg on her face.

    • Last time our lords and masters gathered in Davos (whither Pelosi was bound) to discuss climate change, it took 1,000 private jets to get them there (you couldn’t make this up). Maybe the President is a late convert to the cause?

Re the white comic whose dreadlocks were considered culturally inappropriate, does the same apply to black people who straighten their hair?

  2. “…bugs live in and on people from non-Westernized populations. ”

    Great.

The immigration issue gets more exciting each day.

  3. negotiating an end to the impasse over the border wall.”

Negotiations? Nancy and Schumer do not want negotiations. The impasse is fabricated and staged. So there won’t be an end. And bless the gov by the people for the people , those people have no say. They don’t have enough cognitive sensibilities to know the truth who is obstructing Trump from doing his noble job: wall: to keep criminals away, to clean the cities from crimes, to stop alshabab and their ilk from invading USA, monitoring mosques closely, preventing other 9 elevens, protecting American jobs and goods, stopping outsourcing, . . .

Obama and Schumer threatened 2 years ago that they would be relentless and sabotaging the legitimate rule. Can people prevent the snaky Pelosi from ruining America? Do people know who is destroying America? Do they have authority to do that and send all zombies who do not love America home. Or imprison them for negligence and subversion. Every year 80 000 just Saudi baby muhammads are born in USA and given citizenship when still in hospital. Pelosi encourages that. By allowing that she things she has a work to do.

Chaos. We are helpless. RIP the honest, truthful and the sincere.

As it turned out, there was a terrorist attack in Magnitogorsk. Officials and the media for three weeks kept saying about the explosion of gas.
Russia is not a country where such research may appear in the press. Apparently, we are on the eve of some events. Psychosis has started in social networks because of Tajiks. It turns out that the authorities have put their favorite hard-working migrants at risk.

Media Write that the “Russian” wounded a woman in Oslo. The fact that this is a “Russian” from the Muslim region of Bashkiria is not written by all.

    • “The fact that this is a “Russian” from the Muslim region of Bashkiria is not written by all.” — rather like those “Canadians” who are suddenly cropping up as terrorists around the globe.

    • Your country suffered much more than mine in WW2 (the Great Patriotic War), Elena, but you may enjoy this story.

In 1944 the Nazis launched two new weapons against us, the V1, nicknamed “Doodlebug”, the world’s first cruise missile, which was jet powered, but just able to be shot down by British (and sometimes American) fighters, and the V2, the first ballistic missile. This was supersonic, so you couldn’t hear it coming; the government tried to reassure the public by describing the explosions as “leaking gas mains”, but people quickly realised what they were, and called them “flying gas mains”!

      • Yes. My grandmother survived the occupation on the territory of Belarus. She told a bunch of stories.
She was lucky she was Belarusian.
And therefore I will not deny the Holocaust on the basis of her stories. Although many now write that it was not.
