A deadly tsunami struck the Indonesian island of Java after an eruption of a remnant the mega-volcano Krakatoa. Hundreds of people were killed, and the death toll is expected to rise. It is thought that an undersea landslide may have triggered the tsunami.

According to some reports, the authorities believe that a drone may not even have been involved in the incident.

Betsy Devos Eliminates Obama’s Bizarre School Discipline Policy

While people were setting themselves on fire over the directed withdrawal of US forces from Syria, the resignation of Secretary of Defense James Mattis, and the impending government shutdown, some real news was taking place in Department of Education. It wasn’t covered all that much and for that Betsy DeVos is probably grateful.

Unlike many conservatives, the Obama administration recognized the value of the Department of Education, not as a means to improve education but as a means to indoctrinate children into unquestioning compliance with whatever progressive fantasy they were pushing at the moment. They did this with what were known as “Dear Colleague” letters. By way of this means of communication, they effectively condemned young men who were accused of sexual misconduct in colleges and universities to conviction. They were not allowed to question the accuser or to have an advocate or witnesses and, in many cases they weren’t even told what the allegations were. They did this to mainstream transgenerism. And they did this to effectively shut down school discipline.

Supreme Court Intervenes in Apparent Mystery Mueller Case

Chief Justice John Roberts stayed a contempt order in a case that likely arose from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation in a Sunday night order.

Sunday’s order could mark the first time that the Supreme Court has intervened in the Mueller inquiry.

Very little is known of the case, which reached the high court on Saturday, because the matter has proceeded through the federal courts under seal, meaning strict confidentiality prevails over every detail.

Trump: Jim Mattis Out as of Jan. 1; Deputy to Take Over as Acting Defense Secretary

Washington — Irritated with the criticism and fallout from Defense Secretary Jim Mattis’ resignation, President Donald Trump on Sunday pushed the Pentagon chief out the door two months earlier than planned, an acrimonious end to a tense relationship that had been eroding in recent months.

In a series of tweets, Trump appeared to question why he had put Mattis in his Cabinet in the first place, and said deputy defense secretary Patrick Shanahan will take over as acting secretary on Jan. 1 to cover the accelerated departure.

Why Trump Can’t be Airbrushed Out of the Picture

As the American political elite head for Christmas holidays, the buzz in Washington circles is that 2019 will start with fresh attempts at curtailing the Trump presidency or, failing that, preventing Donald Trump’s re-election in 2020. Amateurs of the conspiracy theory may suggest that the whole thing may be a trap set by the Trump camp to keep the president’s opponents chained to a strategy doomed to failure.

Darkness Falls in Windsor, Ontario

“Sara Anne Widholm, 76, died at Windsor Regional Hospital on Saturday, Dec. 15,” the Windsor Star reports, but this was not a mere obituary. On October 8, 2017, while out for a walk on the Ganatchio Trail in Windsor, Widholm was the victim of a “vicious” and “unprovoked” attack by Habibullah Ahmadi, 21.

He was originally charged with assault, later upgraded to attempted murder and now second-degree murder with the death of his victim. Little has emerged about Habibullah Ahmadi and his motive in the attack, which was “not just another assault,” according to neurosurgeon Dr. Balraj Jhawar.

Denmark Charges Man for Plotting Terror Attack

A 31-year-old man has been charged with planning to explode bombs in Copenhagen and stabbing random people with kitchen knives, Danish prosecutors said.

The man was charged with attempting to carry out acts of terrorism and, if found guilty, he faces up to life in prison.

The man worked with an accomplice, Dieab Khadigah, who was sentenced by a German court in July 2017 to six-and-a-half years in prison.

It also states the need to “prioritise“ websites the EU deems “authoritative“ in “search, feeds, or other automatically ranked distribution channels“. In the midst of Christmas preparations, evil is making itself known — first an act of terror at a Christmas market in Strasbourg. A man shoots irrationally straight into a group of people who drink Glühwein and buy Christmas gifts. Five people die and ten are injured. This should not have happened.

UK: No Justice: Campaigners Outraged as Killer of Three Boys Has Sentence Cut

Jaynesh Chudasama, who ploughed into and killed instantly Harry Louis Rice, 17, George Toby Wilkinson, 16, and Josh McGuinness, 16 on Shepiston Lane in Hayes on January 28, had his sentence reduced on Friday by 2.5 years from the 13 years originally imposed to 10.5 years.

The judge presiding over the appeal blamed a “error” made by the judge in the original hearing in the sentencing discount Chudasama received for entering a guilty plea. He said it was calculated incorrectly as it was based on a maximum sentence of potentially 20 years for the crime of causing death by dangerous driving which is what Chudasama was convicted of rather than the actual maximum which is 14 years.

Those European Refugees in Israel

The number of European languages ??heard in Tel Aviv, Netanya or Jerusalem does not go unnoticed to any visitor in Israel.

by Giulio Meotti

“Europe is over”, Mark Lewis told Israeli Channel 10 after landing with his partner Mandy Blumenthal at Tel Aviv airport. “People killed in museums in Belgium, people killed in schools in France, people attacked in England. There is only one place where Jews can go”, added Lewis. And that place is Israel.

Lewis, 54, is one of the UK’s leading lawyers. A few days later, another Labor Party official was suspended for comments on social media in which he accused the Jews of orchestrating world conflicts. Mohammed Yasin, head of Corbyn’s Labor in the West Midlands, had written that “Jews are responsible for all wars in the world”.

A few hours later, in Sarcelles, in the French Val-d’Oise, a Jewish woman was assaulted, beaten up, her nose broken.

A year ago, a fourteen-year-old Jewish student from Berlin had been the victim of assaults by his classmates at a Berlin-based institute, Friedenau, which was part of the “School against racism” network. Many of the students have Turkish or Arab roots. “The Jews are all murderers”, said a student to the boy. The school in Berlin forbade him to change classes in the school in order not to establish a severe precedent.

In the same area, in Friedenau, Rabbi Daniel Alter was beaten on the street before his daughter’s eyes. Klara Kohn, a daughter of Auschwitz survivors, was mocked by the students in a school in Hanover who sang “Jews to the gas”.

A huge problem for Germany, sbecause Heinz-Peter Meidinger, head of the association of German teachers, told the Wall Street Journal “that in the schools of Berlin the children from migrant families are between 70 and 100 percent of the students”.

Writing for Die Welt last week, Henryk Broder, a Jewish-German intellectual, explained that “well-known anti-Semitism researchers say (falsely) that Muslims are today’s Jews and that ‘Islamophobia’ is a ‘structural relative’ of anti-Semitism. The problem are not the anti-Semites, but the sympathizers, those who show understanding”.

What happened to the Berlin student? The weekly Der Spiegel revealed it last week. Liam Rückert, his name, fled to Israel and is now studying at the Mosenson Youth Village, not far from Tel Aviv. “I feel very comfortable in Israel”, says Liam. “I did alyah and I want to stay”. His companions come from Italy, the Netherlands and Germany. “As a Jew it was unbearable to stay in Germany”, Liam told Der Spiegel. “Here in Israel I can be free as a Jew and I am not afraid of anti-Semitism. I do not want to go back”.

The number of European languages ??heard in Tel Aviv, Netanya or Jerusalem certainly does not go unnoticed to any visitor in Israel. They are the European refugees fleeing from the new anti-Semitism. 50 years ago, Europe saw the arrival of the Jews from Islam. Now European Jews are fleeing to Israel after Islam came to Europe. Such a tragic irony!

“We allege that the University of Texas has four unconstitutional policies on the books,” Neily told Carlson. “They have a verbal harassment policy, a campus climate response team, a bias response team, as you said, an acceptable use policy, which governs all internet and digital use on the campus, another residence hall manual, and all of those policies violate students’ First and Fourteenth Amendment rights because students are terrified to express their opinions.”

  3. re: Drones over Gatwick

This may or may not be a news story created by the government to increase public awareness of the issue of drones at airports.

Sometimes, when credible evidence is found that a certain crime may be committed by terrorists (or sometimes actions to be carried out by secret service agents of an enemy country) the government (usually its secret service or similar body) will order that a news item be ‘created’ to expose the intended crime – before it is carried out.

This is fairly common practice in a secret service organisation.

This helps to send a warning to the enemy agents or terrorists that their plans are at least partially known and that steps are being taken to prevent the crime. It shows both the enemy and the public that the government / police have the ability to detect and prevent or minimise such crimes. It also serves to make the public more alert to the possibility of such things occurring and that people must be more observant of such things. It is less alarming to the public to be notified in this manner and helps prevent unnecessary panic.

  4. In Russia – Roma serious problems. In addition to drug trafficking, fraud and other crimes, they are seen in the illegal construction of residential premises and illegal connection to the electricity and gas networks. And the HRC took the initiative …
    ====================
Human rights activists offered to legalize the housing occupied by the Roma

The participants of the civil rights committee round table suggested recommending to the President of the Russian Federation on April 8 to adopt a decree on the support of the Roma peoples of Russia, which would provide for “securing households as of January 1, 2018, unless these households were acquired as a result of committing grave or especially grave crimes. ” (it turns out that if the house is built to the rescue of crimes of moderate severity, then it is legal)

It is also proposed to provide for the organization of studies in schools where the Gypsies have a compact Roma language and the creation of an ombudsman for the protection of the rights of Gypsies under the director of the Federal Agency for Nationalities.

Human rights activists recommend Roskomnadzor to pay attention “to the need to suppress publications aimed at inciting hatred towards people of Gypsy nationality.”
