Gates of Vienna News Feed 10/10/2018

A “Scottish” Muslim named Nighet Riaz has accused Scotland of being racist. Mr. Riaz is upset because the Scottish government treats the Gaelic language as “more Scottish” than Urdu.

In other news, Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini has blocked an agreement that might have sent 40,000 migrants to Italy from Germany, and another 20,000 from France.

JPMorgan Expert: Illinois Bankruptcy Option Needed — True Debt, Pension, Health Costs Would Consume Half of Revenue

Authored by Mark Glennon via WirePoints.com

Michael Cembalest is Chairman of Market and Investment Strategy at J.P. Morgan Asset Management.

His report released yesterday, The ARC and the Covenants, updates his earlier research comparing the percentage of state revenues needed to pay interest on general obligation debt, and meet all future pension and retiree healthcare obligations. [The link to the report appears to be working sporadically: https://www.jpmorgan.com/directdoc/ARC4_ES.pdf ]

Most states, he concludes, have manageable burdens (which he defines as 15% or less).

Not Illinois, which is far worst among the states. By his calculations, 51% of state revenue would have to go towards debt, pensions and retiree healthcare to reach full funding, and that would take 30 years. He assumes all pensions will earn 6% per year on invested assets.

“Political Language… is Designed to Make Lies Sound Truthful… and to Give an Appearance of Solidity to Pure Wind.” — George Orwell

Corey Booker, Nancy Pelosi, Al Franken, Keith Ellison and the list goes on concerning those who have refused to be on the Sons of Liberty Radio show. Some will take shots at my national platform through the corporate-owned media, but will not confront me on LIVE radio. Why is that? They do not want to be exposed for who they really are (Luke 12:2) nor do they desire to subject themselves to that which is foreign to their Communistic, totalitarian agenda, namely, the Constitution and its enumerated laws.

The Constitution is as foreign to these Redcoats and Torys (Luke 22:48) that have sold the American people out to a power as foreign to them as the tyrant across the pond named King George was to our Forefathers and the 13 colonies while establishing our move to establish Independence.

California DMV Wrongly Registered 1,500 People, Including Non-Citizens, To Vote in 2018

The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) revealed Monday evening that it had registered 1,500 non-eligible people, including non-U.S. citizens, to vote between April and September, despite assuring the public for years it had safeguards to prevent that from happening.

The error is the latest scandal for the DMV, which had to admit a month ago that it made 23,000 over voter registration errors.

‘Catching Some Hell’: Hurricane Michael Slams Into Florida

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (AP) — Powerful Hurricane Michael slammed into the Florida Panhandle with terrifying winds of 155 mph Wednesday, splintering homes and submerging neighborhoods before continuing its destructive march inland across the Southeast. It was the most powerful hurricane to hit the continental U.S. in nearly 50 years and at least one death was reported during its passage.

Democrats Consider Becoming ‘More Ruthless’ After Losing Brett Kavanaugh Battle

After losing the war to defeat Brett Kavanaugh, Democrats are thinking about becoming even “more ruthless,” reports the far-left Politico.

After launching at least a half-dozen debunked and outright phony allegations of criminal sexual deviancy against Kavanaugh, after accusing him of running a gang rape ring where women were drugged as a means to incapacitate them, after legitimizing the harassment of President Trump and Kavanaugh supporters up to and including chasing them out of public spaces, Democrats are thinking about becoming “more ruthless”?

Other than violence, what is left?

In all seriousness, how can Democrats become “more ruthless” than they have already been without resorting to violence?

The Politico piece is utterly deranged in its fact-free premise, including anti-science nonsense such as, “Democrats keep playing by a set of rules.”

What?

Donald Trump in Iowa: The Democrats Have ‘Gone Wacko’

President Donald Trump expressed alarm by the growing extremism in the Democrat party, urging his supporters to vote Republican in the upcoming Congressional midterm elections.

“The Democrats have become too extreme and they’ve become, frankly, too dangerous to govern,” he said to supporters at a rally in Council Bluffs, Iowa. “They’ve gone wacko.”

Trump mocked the party as “The Dims,” noting that it was a frequent term used by Fox Business host Lou Dobbs and other hosts on Fox News.

“They’ve gone so far left that they consider Pocahontas to be a rational person,” Trump said, referring to Elizabeth Warren.

He joked that he hoped that Warren would run for president so that Americans could finally see whether or not her claim of American Indian heritage was real.

The president added that if Democrats won the midterm elections, they would try to reverse his positive economic gains for the United States.

“Democrats want to raise your taxes, impose socialism, dismantle law enforcement, eliminate ICE, and get rid of American borders,” Trump said.

Eight Significant Ties Between Dina Powell and the Clintons

President Donald Trump confirmed on Tuesday that he is eying Goldman Sachs executive Dina Habib Powell, his former deputy national security advisor, as a contender to replace Nikki Haley as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

Haley announced her resignation on Tuesday, saying she will officially leave her post at the end of the year. Trump said that he would name Haley’s successor within two to three weeks.

In one of many reports spotlighting Powell, CNBC cited “three people with direct knowledge of the matter” saying senior White House officials already reached out to Powell about the possibility of replacing Haley.

Google Calls Search Engine Bias a ‘Conspiracy Theory’ — It’s Not

In an 85-page document recently leaked to Breitbart News, Google refers to President Trump’s claims that Google search results are biased as a “conspiracy theory,” however, there is a large amount of evidence to show that the search engine was biased towards Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election.

Breitbart News published an 85-page internal company briefing produced by Google that argues that for a number of reasons, including the election of President Trump, the “American tradition” of free speech on the internet is no longer a realistic goal. The document makes a number of claims which Breitbart News has been reporting on, but one specific slide from the briefing claims that President Trump’s assertion that Google favored positive search results of Hillary Clinton over negative ones during the 2016 election was a “conspiracy theory.”

The slide alleging that President Trump’s claim is a conspiracy can be seen below:

GOP Needs Update to Dems’ UFC Cage Match Rules

It’s time to update the GOP’s Marquess of Queensbury Rules.

If you saw Ruth Bader Ginsburg at Brett Kavanaugh’s swearing-in ceremony, you know that we may need to fill her seat in about 4 1/2 minutes. Naturally, I hope she lives to be 300 — although parenthetically, it seems she already has.

The confirmation hearings for Kavanaugh made Robert Bork’s hearings look like a day at the beach. At least liberals only lied about Bork’s judicial philosophy. They didn’t accuse him of being Ted Bundy. The next nomination hearing will make Kavanaugh’s look like an ice cream social.

Just because it didn’t work this time doesn’t mean Republicans’ work is done. They have to make sure this never happens again.

How to Fight the Left Effectively

Truth means nothing to leftists. The ends justify the means, and they will literally say or do anything to achieve their aims. They’ll use violence — Antifa, BLM, rioting, and attacking Trump supporters — and intimidation (doxxing public officials and confronting them in various public places) while calling conservatives fascists and blaming them for the unrest. They’ll rail against “racism” one moment and then excoriate a race (whites) the next. They’ll preach equality while practicing inequality and discrimination, as with quotas and affirmative action. They’ll claim to care about female victims (Kavanaugh-Ford affair) and then smear female victims (Rep. Keith Ellison case). They’ll say, “Do it for the children,” using kids as human props, while abetting the brutal killing of children in the womb. They’ll preach tolerance but then insist this means “safe spaces” excluding conservatives and whites and that opposing views must be squelched. They’ll say it’s un-American to question election outcomes — as H. Clinton did prior to Nov. 8, 2016 — but upon losing scream how an election was “stolen,” as leftists did after Nov. 8, 2016. Theirs is the ideology of Anything Goes.

In fact, leftists will swear that Truth (properly understood as objective) itself doesn’t even exist, that everything is shades of gray — but then turn about and sing blatant black-white tunes portraying their political opponents as evil. This is similar to Satan, who knows that God’s rules exist but doesn’t believe they should be considered “Truth.” Leftists will superciliously scoff at traditionalists’ moral positions and insist everything is relative. But they really want to play God and have everything be relative to themselves — like the Devil.

One difference between leftists and Satan is that the latter knows that God exists. That’s where the differences end.

Kanye’s Declaration of Independence

They can’t accuse Kanye of being a racist. So they accuse him of being a fool. But Kanye didn’t get to be arguably the most influential artist of his generation — as well as a music mogul in his own right — by being a fool.

A fool supports blindly; a fool never questions; a fool lets himself be taken for granted. Kanye — and a growing number of urban voters — is getting tired of that.

The Democratic Party has done exactly that for several generations — ride the dissipating fumes of ‘60s-era support for civil rights legislation, confident that rhetoric will always be enough to lock up urban voters. And it was.

Then along came Trump.

Instead of talking about helping black Americans, he actually did. The black unemployment rate has dropped to 6.3 percent, lower than it has been since the early ‘70s and lower than it was during the eight years of Barack Obama’s presidency. In less than two years, Trump has done more for inner-city folks in terms of actually improving their lives than Obama talked about doing over the course of eight.

The overall unemployment rate is under 4 percent for the first time in a generation. More people are working again — both black and white and everything in between.

Kanye — and other black Americans — have noticed this.

Michael Griffin, Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, On Secure Freedom Radio

Well, one of the things that I pointed out or that someone pointed out at the conference and that I picked up on and amplified upon was that the Chinese have developed and the Russians are developing a hypersonic maneuvering vehicle threat that is, at present I think it is being considered to be tactical rather than strategic in nature, meaning conventional rather than nuclear and confined to relatively limited theaters, but which is strategic in its implications. Because these systems overfly our air defense capability. They operate at many tens of kilometers in altitude. And they under fly our missile defense capabilities because they never really go much above a hundred kilometers of altitude. And when they do, it’s in the immediate post-boost phase when they’re over their own territory and our ground-based missile defenses don’t reach them. So they’ve crafted a system which flies in the niches in our defensive systems. And as they approach their targets, which may be forward operating bases or, you know, westward islands such as Guam and other places, or aircraft carriers, when they approach those targets, they’re capable of very high acceleration maneuvers. And the conventional interceptors with which we are equipped won’t be there.

The 42-year-old concealed-carry permit holder who saved Cicero (IL) police officer Luis Duarte on Sept. 13 remains anonymous and his request to remain so was honored by CBS Chicago—a refreshingly rare move—in its follow-up phone interview with the citizen hero. Podesta Emails: Evidence Democrats Steal Elections

More evidence Donald Trump is right.

Democrats fix elections.

The evidence is contained in the Podesta emails released by WikiLeaks. John Podesta was Clinton’s campaign manager in 2008.

In an email message, Podesta mentions two “old friends of the Clintons,” James Lyons and Michael Driver. They were responsible for “caucus protection, election protection and to raise hard $” for the 2016 Colorado caucus.

Podesta said Lyons and Driver believe the Obama campaign had “flooded the caucuses with ineligible voters,” reports the Daily Caller, citing the Podesta emails.

Smart Aliens Might Live Within 33,000 Light-Years of Earth. A New Study Explains Why We Haven’t Found Them Yet.

The cosmos almost screams with the possibility of intelligent alien life.

Hundreds of billions of galaxies drift through the visible universe, each one harboring hundreds of billions of stars, and each of those stars in turn shelters roughly a handful of planets. Even if the trillion-or-so planets in every galaxy aren’t habitable, countless water-rich moons orbiting these lifeless worlds might be.

And yet, in spite of these numbers, humans have yet to identify any signals from intelligent aliens. The prescient question that the physicist Enrico Fermi posed in 1950 — “Where is everybody?” — remains unanswered.

However, a study in The Astronomical Journal, which we learned about from MIT Technology Review, suggests humanity has barely sampled the skies and thus has no grounds to be cynical.

Where’s the Outrage Over Hillary’s Call for a ‘Civil’ War?

Media turns blind eye to belligerent comments

Hillary Clinton’s statement Tuesday that Democrats “cannot be civil” as long as Republicans hold the White House and Congress.

“You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about,” Clinton told CNN. “That’s why I believe, if we are fortunate enough to win back the House and/or the Senate, that’s when civility can start again. But until then, the only thing that the Republicans seem to recognize and respect is strength.”

There you have it — a declaration of war and a license for violence. Where is the media outrage?

Clinton knows we are already in the danger zone when it comes to the political temperature. Her comments, then, are as reckless as bringing a can of gasoline to a bonfire.

She’s stoking trouble to gain a foothold in the 2020 race — and damn the consequences.

Her claim that civility can return when Dems have power is an admission that the ends justify the means.

Wildfires: Separating Demagoguery From the Science

[…]

But by 1996 fire ecologist Thomas Swetnam echoed the growing consensus against fire suppression. He wrote, “The paradox of fire management in conifer forests is that, if in the short term we are effective at reducing fire occurrence below a certain level, then sooner or later catastrophically destructive wildfires will occur. Even the most efficient and technologically advanced firefighting efforts can only forestall this inevitable result. It is clear from many years of study and published works that the thinning action of pre-settlement surface fires maintained open stand conditions and thereby prevented the historically anomalous occurrence of catastrophic crown fires that we are experiencing in today’s Southwestern forests”

Around the 1970s, some government agencies began adopting “let it burn policies” if human habitat was not threatened. An increasing use of prescribed burns attempted to reduce abnormal fuel loads and restore the natural fire balance. But fire ecologists still “estimated that approximately 3 to 6 times more area must be burned to restore historical fire regimes.” The unnaturally low fire frequencies of the 1980s and 90s can be seen in Figure 5 from a 1999 research paper by Dr. Swetnam. Based on fire scars of old living trees from 64 southwest study sites, fires were 5 to 15 times more numerous and widespread between 1700 and 1880 than during the 1990s. When global warming demagogues argue climate change has now resulted in 5 times more fires than observed in the 1970s, they fail to inform the public this increase is largely due to a shift away from the previous complete fire suppression policy to selectively allowing fires to burn.

Canada Legalizes Marijuana in 1 Week: 6 Things You Need to Know

The countdown is nearly over. Following months of debate in the Senate and the passage of the Cannabis Act on June 19, Canada is set to become the first industrialized country in the world to legalize recreational marijuana, and only the second overall behind Uruguay, exactly one week from today, on Oct. 17.

When legal, marijuana will be a big business. Although estimates vary wildly, as we’d expect to see with an industry that has very little legal precedence on an adult-use basis worldwide, Wall Street is looking for somewhere in the neighborhood of $5 billion in added annual sales. The “added” part comes from the fact that the legal pot industry in Canada is already selling medical cannabis domestically, as well as shipping it abroad.

Some of the Major Myths About Vegetation, Soil, And Climate

People like Vladimir Koppen (1846-1940) knew more about climate and climate mechanisms than any member of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and most people purporting to study or know about climate today. He demonstrated his understanding in the creation of a climate classification system that is still the basis of all attempts to produce something better. His grasp of the interplay and interactions between, temperature, precipitation, soils, and vegetation are unequalled. …

The obsession with computer models and temperature have taken climatology into a blind alley where the chances of understanding are eliminated. Neither weather nor climate forecasting has improved, yet billions are wasted on them not to mention billions more every year on research to improve them. Just one example, Environment Canada spent $2 million on forecasting 3, 6, and 12-month forecasts of temperature and precipitation. It was abandoned after the best results were less than 50% accurate. To add insult to injury, these failed science and forecasts are the basis for wasting trillions more. Witness the failed forecasts for hurricane Florence as just one more recent example. I identified these problems in a 2014 article titled, “Government Weather and Climate Forecasts Are Failures.” …

These things are happening today across the spectrum of agrarian societies. The failure to replace minerals is an insidious problem driven by the cost of the chemicals and the fear of using them promoted by environmentalists. I tell farmers that to replace minerals you have sent to the city in your crops and livestock is simply recycling…

There is no place in the world where the adage that people can’t see the forest for the trees is more appropriate than in modern so-called climate science. We have not improved our knowledge or understanding since the work of people like Vladimir Koppen. The failure to improve weather or climate forecasting is proof that scientific understanding has not improved. Indeed, I would argue that we have regressed into the situation an English Geophysicist described when he wrote, “There are no students of earth, we all dig our specialized holes and sit in them.”

Report: Internal Meeting Transcript Contradicts Google’s China Claims

A leaked transcript of a private Google meeting shows that the company’s public statements about its censored Chinese search engine do not align with what executives say privately.

A recent report from The Intercept shows that Google executives and employees have very different ideas about Google’s Project Dragonfly — a Chinese government controlled and censored search engine — than they have publicly discussed. Last week, Vice President Mike Pence called on Google to “immediately end development of the Dragonfly app that will strengthen the Communist Party’s censorship and compromise the privacy of Chinese customers.” …

But privately, discussions surrounding Project Dragonfly have painted a different picture. According to one Google source, Gomes’s comments to the BBC about Project Dragonfly were “bullshit.” Sources told the Intercept that Gomes informed employees in July that the company planned to release the censored Chinese search engine as soon as possible and employees were to prepare the engine to be “brought off the shelf and quickly deployed” once they received approval from Beijing.

Gomes told employees that work on Project Dragonfly was “extremely important” and discussed the Chinese market stating “we are talking about the next billion users” for Google. Gomes also called China “the most interesting market in the world today,” and told staff that “By virtue of working on this, you will act as a window onto this world of innovation that we are otherwise blind to.”

Gomes’s full remarks to Google staff during the company’s 20th-anniversary event in San Francisco can be read at the Intercept.

Austria Has Concerns About U.N. Migration Pact, Might Back Out

Hey! Let’s Just Let ‘Em All in

In spite of President Trump’s crack down on illegal immigration, illegal aliens are pouring into our country in large numbers. For the months of March, April and May of 2018 over 50,000 illegal aliens have crossed our southern border each month, according to the U. S. Border Patrol. 50,000 illegal entries per month equals 600,000 illegal entries per year and you, a legal American, get to pay for each one of them, and pay through the nose.

Right after the U. S. Government’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) decided to end family separation at the southern border due to irrational Democratic pressure and U. S. District court decisions, the word traveled like a wildfire to Central and South America. On September 13, 2018, DHS reported a huge spike in the number of families crossing into the U. S. seeking asylum. Of course, we have to take them all in under U. S. law.

In 2012, Obama issued an executive order that shielded millions of illegal aliens from deportation, who came here illegally with their parents. (DACA) Once again, the word got out to Central and South America and a humanitarian crisis erupted at America’s southern border with tens of thousands of minors showing up at the border without parents or guardians. These children now live in America and legal Americans are paying for their care, to the tune of billions of dollars per year. Thousands of those un-accompanied minors were and are members of the brutal gang known as MS-13.

Gay Marriage Cake: UK Supreme Court Rules in Favour of Christian Bakers

The UK’s Supreme Court ruled in favour of Northern Irish Christian bakers who declined to bake and decorate a cake with a pro-gay marriage message, with owners heralding the decision as a victory for free speech.

The Supreme Court Circus

While I believe all Americans, especially Congress, should work hard to nominate justices who will vehemently deny the erroneous and deadly court opinion of Roe v Wade, this alone would not make abortion illegal.

It is generally taught and generally thought that this 1973 ruling made abortion legal in America. This is NOT TRUE. Let me repeat this. Abortion was not legalized by this or any other decision of the Supreme Court or of any court. Abortion was murder prior to the case of Roe v Wade, and abortion is murder still.

Here are two simple reasons why this is so. Reason #1: The Law of Nature and Nature’s God, which is operative in all the earth and during all times, specifically forbids the taking of innocent life. (Please see Exodus 20 and verse 13.)

Reason # 2: The Constitution doesn’t grant any court the authority to make law. So the Supreme Court has no authority to “legalize” anything. They can only render opinions that apply only to the parties before them.

It’s just that simple. The confusion has come because there are powerful forces that want you to believe that the courts have powers and authorities that they don’t have. And Roe v Wade is a striking example of this deception.

IPCC Demands $240/Gal Gasoline Tax!

After that, you can leave a link to the publication.

  4. Re: “Romanian Heterosexual Marriage Referendum Voided by Low Turnout”

There is a good explanation for the low turnout:
-A poll for the period 10-26.04.2018 showed 55% of those questioned participating and 22% probably participating to the referendum, 77% would have voted “Yes”.
-A poll for the period 22-29.09.2018 showed 48% of those questioned participating and 17% probably participating to the referendum, 85% would have voted “Yes”.
    – A poll 20.09-1.10.2018 showed 34% of those questioned participating and 90% would have voted “Yes”.
    – The referendum results from 6-7.10.2018 where 21.1% participated and 91.65% voted “Yes”.

There was a massive misinformation campaign, falsely claiming that the referendum was about other issues, like preventing corrupt politicians from going to jail. This misinformation campaign was successful, because the mainstream media did not care/ did not want to clarify this. The fact is that the vast majority of Romanians believe marriage should be recognized only for heterosexual couples, but also that they are easily misled. The LGBT lobby acquired a temporary victory, delaying the clarification of marriage in the constitution, which is the best they could have hoped for.

  5. “A “Scottish” Muslim named Nighet Riaz has accused Scotland of being racist. Mr. Riaz is upset because the Scottish government treats the Gaelic language as “more Scottish” than Urdu.”

Before we laugh too hard, lets wait for the response (you know there’s going to be a response) from the kiddies at Glasgow University.

    • Nighet Riaz is not a Mr., but instead is a rather unattractive busybody Muslima doing her part at University of the West of Scotland to advance the Muslim civilization jihad. She claims to be one of those phony “Doctors” possessing a PhD in some worthless “study/discipline.”

    • They have been making highland bagpipes in Pakistan for a long time. But that doesn’t make them Scots.

  6. I applaud Mr Riaz. This puts the SNP on the spot. They have told Scots that anybody who “feels” Scottish can be Scottish. Right. Let’s see how Scots take the news that Urdu is more widely spoken in Scotland than Gaelic and so deserves equal status. That 2000 years of struggle for identity and independence count for nothing, since anybody from anywhere can be Scottish if they feel like it. That Pakistanis are as Scottish as MacDonalds. Let’s see the SNP forced to explain why the natives who built the country have no birthright there.

    • I feel very strongly that the Welsh language has not
Been given its proper prominence in South Africa.

Having written to the ANC President I am still
      Awaiting a reply.

Funny but I was similarly ignored when I wrote to
The president of Cuba to complain about the lack
Of Icelandic Road signs and also Icelandic books
      In their primary school system.

Is it just me or am I just barking up the wrong tree?

  7. In Russia, many media wrote about the Chinese legitimation of “re-education camps”. Articles are written with poorly concealed enthusiasm. There is no condemnation or mention of “human rights”. Even Kadyrov is silent. Only the Muslim media make a faint squeak.

Separatist news is increasingly coming from Muslim regions.
Tatars are increasingly making claims to Ivan the terrible.

    Life gets more interesting.

  8. Urdu is more widely spoken than Gaelic in Scotland and deserves equal status. I can’t imagine the Scots approve of this insult by a muslima Nighet Riaz, U of West Scotland.
