Gates of Vienna News Feed 8/31/2018

One of the men arrested for the murder of a native German in Chemnitz had a criminal record, and was supposed to have been deported in 2016. He has been identified as a 22-year-old Iraqi named Yousif A., and his accomplice is a Syrian named Alaa S.

In other news, Dutch police shot and wounded a man who went on a stabbing rampage in a train station in Amsterdam. The attacker, reportedly an Afghan, lightly wounded two people before being shot. His motive is unknown, but the authorities are considering the possibility that the attack was terror-related.

A Fertility Doctor Used His Sperm on Unwitting Women. Their Children Want Answers

To couples at the end of their ropes who wanted children but could not conceive them for medical reasons, Dr. Donald Cline was a savior of sorts, offering to match the women with sperm from anonymous men resembling their partners.

Many couples sought Dr. Cline out at his Indianapolis-area fertility clinic during the 1970s and ‘80s. They had children, who grew up and had children of their own.

What the couples did not know was that on an untold number of occasions, Dr. Cline was not using the sperm of anonymous donors.

He was using his own.

Apple, Google, Twitter, Facebook Sued for Leftist Bias and Conservative Censorship

Five of the world’s largest tech companies are facing legal challenges to their alleged censorship of conservative viewpoints on their various platforms.

Apple, Google, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are being sued by Larry Klayman, the founder of Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch, for their apparent agenda to “quash and/or limit advocacy by conservative and pro-Trump public interest groups, advocates and others to further the leftist anti-conservative agendas.”

The complaint filed by Klayman in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia seeks nearly $1 billion in damages.

Bokhari: Google is Trump’s Most Dangerous Enemy

After criticizing social media platforms for mass-censoring conservatives and the alternative media earlier this month, President Trump has turned his attention to Google. Not a moment too soon — of all the politically biased tech giants, Google is by far the most dangerous.

Trump’s critical comments about Google referenced statistics from a report in PJ Media which found that a staggering 96 percent of search results for “Trump” return results from news sites that are hostile to the President. Breitbart News’ own investigation found the same result.

As Google search results are personalized, this wasn’t a strictly scientific study — that would require tests on hundreds, if not thousands of Google users. But the fact that a conservative columnist received search results that were 96 percent liberal should be deeply worrying. If that’s what a conservative with a (presumably) conservative search history sees, what kind of results are being sent to swing-voters?

California Democrats Boycott of In-N-Out Backfires Spectacularly

A call from the head of the California Democratic Party to boycott In-N-Out Burger over its $25,000 donation to the GOP, appears to have backfired rather spectacularly according to the Los Angeles Times. Take Anthony Grigore, a true-blue Democrat. But as he waited Thursday at an In-N-Out Burger in El Segundo for his meal, Grigore made it clear party loyalty would only go so far.

Just hours earlier, the head of the California Democratic Party called for a boycott of the famed burger chain after a public filing revealed that the company had recently donated $25,000 to the state’s Republican Party.

“Eating at In-N-Out is such a standard thing to do across California,” Grigore told the LA Times dismissing the boycott idea as a bit silly.

FBI Arrests Five New Mexico Compound Suspects Days After Multiple Charges Were Dropped

The FBI announced Friday that it had arrested all five New Mexico compound suspects, days after multiple charges were dropped. The suspects were now being charged with violating federal firearms and conspiracy laws.

The announcement comes after local prosecutors dropped charges in the death of a 3-year-old boy at the compound site. Taos County District Attorney Donald Gallegos said Friday his office would now seek grand jury indictments involving the death. Gallegos said seeking indictments would allow more time to gather evidence.

[…]The FBI said they arrested all five suspects without incident on Friday afternoon in Taos.

All five defendants are scheduled to appear in federal court in Albuquerque on Sept. 4.

Google’s New AI Can Predict Earthquake Aftershocks

Authored by Danica Simic via ValueWalk.com

Researchers that study earthquakes have been trying to model earthquake aftershocks for many years, and now, Google’s new AI can do it for them. Thanks to the new neural network, researchers can fairly precisely predict earthquake aftershocks, as well as scale how strong they would be. Nevertheless, there needs to be much more research done before the algorithm reaches perfection.

Rapid development of artificial intelligence has allowed scientists to use it for various things, like the World Cup predictions or planet exploration. However, Google and a Harvard team collaborated to focus AI toward something that is extremely difficult to be predicted by humans — earthquake aftershocks.

New CPRC Research: How a Botched Study Fooled the World About the U.S. Share of Mass Public Shootings: U.S. Rate is Lower Than Global Average

Executive Summary

A paper on mass public shootings by Adam Lankford (2016) has received massive national and international media attention, getting coverage in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, plus hundreds of other news outlets spanning at least 35 different countries. Lankford’s claim was that over the 47 years from 1966 to 2012, an enormous amount of the world’s mass public shooters — 31% — occurred in the United States. Lankford attributed this to America’s gun ownership.

Lankford claims to have “complete” data on such shooters in 171 countries. However, because he has neither identified the cases nor their location nor even a complete description on how he put the cases together, it is impossible to replicate his findings.

It is particularly important that Lankford share his data because of the extreme difficulty in finding mass shooting cases in remote parts of the world going back to 1966. Lack of media coverage could easily lead to under-counting of foreign mass shootings, which would falsely lead to the conclusion that the U.S. has such a large share…

The Disturbing “Momo Challenge” Leads to Bizarre Teen Suicides

Targeting young people through Whatsapp and Facebook, the “Momo Challenge” is linked to the suicide of a teen who wrote the words “Illuminati” and “Devil’s one eye” on a wall beforehand.

The Momo Challenge has been spreading in several countries across the world, leading police forces to warn parents about the potentially dangerous effects of this disturbing “game”. It is the latest social media phenomenon that leads unsuspecting teens into a world of violence and pure darkness.

What is the Momo Challenge?

“Players” are challenged through Whatsapp and Facebook to contact Momo at an unknown phone number. The teens are then ordered to perform a series of dangerous tasks. Failure to do results in repeated graphic threats that include: Making personal information public (doxing), harming family members or casting evil magical curses. These threats are often accompanied with scary, gory and disturbing pictures. Some teens stated that they received terrifying images during the night while others claimed that the character threatened to materialize overnight to curse them. Other added that they received calls during which they could only hear screaming and terrifying sounds.

[Comment: Calling this creepy is an understatement.]

An Elusive Higgs Boson Decay Has Finally Been Spotted

The Higgs boson has been spotted bottoming out — but that’s a good thing.

Physicists have detected the elementary particle decaying into two bottom quarks, exotic, short-lived particles that often appear in the aftermath of high-energy particle collisions. The elusive process was finally observed six years after the Higgs boson’s initial discovery, by physicists working at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Geneva. Researchers from two LHC experiments, ATLAS and CMS, reported their results simultaneously in a seminar held at CERN on August 28.

Scientists don’t detect the Higgs boson directly. Instead, they spot the debris produced when the Higgs disintegrates into less massive particles. The Higgs boson is expected to decay to two bottom quarks more than half of the time. But scientists hadn’t been able to tease out the process until now, because other mechanisms can produce bottom quarks and mimic the Higgs decay (SN: 9/3/16, p. 13). Scientists previously saw the Higgs break down into other types of particles, including particles of light called photons, a process which has fewer issues with Higgs impersonators.

With the Higgs boson’s unveiling in 2012, physicists filled in the last missing piece of the standard model, the theory of the fundamental constituents of matter (SN: 7/28/12, p. 5). But physicists still want to know more about the Higgs’ inner workings…

On October 31st, 2017, the Royal Ritual took place at the Royal Albert Hall in London where Freemasons celebrated the 300th anniversary of their influence on society. Attended by thousands of Freemasons from across the world (including 136 Grand Masters), the ceremony featured “sketches” bragging about the influence of Masonry on modern society, including its important role in the creation of the United States. Caroline Glick: The Generals’ Revolt

The candidates now under consideration to replace IDF Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Gadi Eisenkot are evidence of a dismal and dangerous truth: Today, the IDF General Staff is in open rebellion against the government and the citizens of Israel.

Consider the identities of two of the four the candidates to serve as the next chief of general staff. First, there is former deputy chief of staff Maj.-Gen. Yair Golan.

Golan has a record that bespeaks two character flaws which make his candidacy a scandal.

First, Golan has adopted the rhetoric and attitudes of antisemites.

On the eve of Yom Hashoah in April 2016, Golan gave a speech before Holocaust survivors in which he said that Israel was becoming Nazi Germany. In his infamous words, “If something frightens me in the memory of the Holocaust, it is identifying nauseating processes that unfolded in Europe generally and in Germany in particular back then, 70, 80 and 90 years ago, and finding evidence of them here, among us today.”

Golan’s speech was factually wrong. There is no evidence whatsoever that the Nazification of German society is repeating itself in Israel.

But it isn’t merely that he was wrong. The problem is that his statement was an antisemitic libel.

In drawing a comparison between Israeli society and Germany in the early 20th century, Golan was denying the Holocaust while demonizing Jews in a way that is indistinguishable from the antisemitic incitement carried out by Israel’s enemies. Indeed, according to the definition of antisemitism adopted by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance that was endorsed by 31 countries including 24 EU member states, “drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis” is a prime example of an antisemitic expression.

Just last month, the three major British Jewish newspapers took the extraordinary step of publishing the same editorial on their front pages to warn against the “existential threat to Jewish life” in Britain that a government led by Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn would pose. The papers were propelled to act after the Labour Party refused to adopt the IHRA’s definition of antisemitism…

Racial Violence Likely in South Africa: ‘We Will Take the Land by Force’

The new legislation allowing the South African government to seize the land of white farmers without compensation, is currently on hold pending review. However, should the law pass, the country will most likely be flung into racial violence as supporters and those in opposition to the law are split — down racial lines.

It certainly seems like the South African government wants a violent and bloody race war. The law which would allow the government to take white farmers land by force and redistribute it to the black population was proposed by the ruling African National Congress (ANC) as early as 2015 and supported by President Cyril Ramaphosa according to RT. More than twenty years after abolishing apartheid (strict racial segregation) the government and those willing to steal the land from others view it as “racial” justice. That is likely to fan the flames of a violent race war.

The proposed land reform has pitted radical groups among black South Africans ready to take land by force against white farmers who are ready to protect their property with an equal amount of force. “We will take the land by force,” Peter Seolela, a member of the Economic Freedom Fighters party, told London-based television channel ITV. “We will not be embarrassed by this. It is our land and we want it now.”

But the white farmers have already paid for the land and many have titles in their hands, meaning it doesn’t actually belong to others just because they want it and based solely on skin color (that’s pretty much the definition of racism). “This land is bought and paid for. I have the title deeds that go back four generations,” said Bernadette Hall, whose husband was reportedly murdered by armed raiders six years ago, according to RT. “I lost my husband and now they want to take my farm,” Hall told the media. “I’ve put my blood and my sweat and everything into this. They might as well slit my throat and have done with it.”

A Texas federal judge ruled on Friday that the Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals (DACA) amnesty program for illegal aliens violates federal law, but declined the request of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and other states to issue an injunction blocking the program immediately, and instead certified his order for immediate appeal, fast-tracking this case for quick resolution.

PETA “Slacktivists” Liberate Cookie Animals From Cartoon Cages

At long last, Nabisco has redesigned the century-old art for its Barnum’s Animal Crackers cookies, liberating the creatures from the confines of their cages to stand alone in a pristine jungle.

After Barnum & Bailey and Ringling Brothers Circus was put out of business last year, thanks in part to PETA, what’s an animal rights activist to do with their time?

Well, how about reaching out to Mondelez International, parent company of Nabisco to suggest that depicting the animals in their natural habitat would be the ethical thing to do?

This TEDx Talk Attempts to Normalize Pedophilia

A TEDx talk held in May argued that “pedophilia is an unchangeable orientation” in a bizarre attempt to rationalize and normalize this abomination.

On May 5th 2018, a TEDx event entitled “Future of Societys” was held at the University of Würzburg in Germany and featured a lecture by medical student Mirjam Heine on the subject of “Why our perception of pedophilia has to change”…

However, it is not the first time a TEDx event sends out this message of “tolerance”. On April 18th 2018, the event TEDxSittardGeleen hosted in the Netherlands (with theme “Misbehaving Beautifully”) featured psychologist and criminologist Madeleiene van der Bruggen who asked society to be “be mature about pedophilia”…

To be sexually attracted to the purity and innocence of children reflects a sick and twisted state of mind. It is not “normal”. It is the opposite of normal. It is an abomination and an embodiment of pure evil … and that is why those in power are slowly yet steadily pushing for its “acceptance”.

  2. Normalizing pedophilia is inevitable because the Absolute Standard for Moral Good (based on Mosaic Law) was jettisoned by the intellectual elites, from Marx onward. We have a return to the Primitive in the embrace of non-Western cultures, in art, in music, and the literature receiving the most approval is written from the anti-Western, ‘I am a victim of colonialism’ point of view.

In New Guinea, the definition of a virgin was a girl who could run faster than her uncle. Enough said! No need to even mention that ‘perfect’ pedophile, Mohammed!

    • Paedophilia was common in “Christian” societies long before the Enlightenment or Marxism; the UK only introduced a legal age of consent in the late c19th, if I recall correctly. Check out the lives of some of the great Renaissance artists: Cellini’s autobiography would be a good starting point.

There is an important point to be made, that such abuse has no authority from Jesus, unlike in Islam.

  3. “Land reform” in SA? That’s an interesting take on reform. From productive to worthless overnight.
