Gates of Vienna News Feed 8/29/2018

Angry Pakistanis have taken to the streets to demonstrate against Geert Wilders’ “Draw Mohammed” contest, which will be held in the Dutch parliament next month. The Senate in Pakistan passed a resolution condemning the contest. Meanwhile, the Dutch justice minister said that the videotape made by a Pakistani threatening Geert Wilders’ life was “revolting”. The would-be assassin was arrested by Dutch police after he arrived in the Netherlands.

In other news, the Libyan coast guard rescued more than 400 migrants off the country’s coast. There’s no word about where those migrants will be off-loaded.

Economy Booming: Could We See Trump’s Claimed 5% GDP Growth?

Forecasters watching the economy expected that the blowout number in the second quarter for the country’s Gross Domestic Product would have to be revised downward on Wednesday. Once again, their expectations failed to reflect the real economy: That blowout number of 4.1 percent growth, instead of being revised lower to a predicted 4.0 percent, was revised upward to 4.2 percent GDP growth.

Chicago Cardinal Says Allegations Against Pope ‘Because He is a Latino’

Cardinal Blase Cupich suggested that allegations that Pope Francis knowingly rehabilitated an abusive American cardinal proceed from racism in a television interview with NBC News Tuesday.

In the interview, the Archbishop of Chicago responded to a recent 11-page statement by Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, former papal nuncio to the United States, that alleges a series of misdeeds by high-ranking Catholic prelates, including Pope Francis himself.

China Hacked Clinton’s Private Email Server: Daily Caller

A Chinese-owned firm with operations in Washington D.C. hacked Hillary Clinton’s private server “throughout her term as secretary of state and obtained nearly all her emails,” reports the Daily Caller’s Richard Pollock.

The Chinese firm obtained Clinton’s emails in real time as she sent and received communications and documents through her personal server, according to the sources, who said the hacking was conducted as part of an intelligence operation.

The Chinese wrote code that was embedded in the server, which was kept in Clinton’s residence in upstate New York. The code generated an instant “courtesy copy” for nearly all of her emails and forwarded them to the Chinese company, according to the sources. —Daily Caller

During a July 12 House Committee on the Judiciary hearing, Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert (R) disclosed that the Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) found that virtually all of Clinton’s emails from her homebrew server were funneled to a “foreign entity.” Gohmert did not reveal the entity’s identity — however he said it wasn’t Russia.

A government staff official briefed on the ICIG’s findings told the Daily Caller that the Chinese firm which hacked Clinton’s emails operates in Washington’s northern Virginia suburbs, and that it was not a technology firm — but a “front group” for the Chinese government.

Warnings ignored

Two ICIG officials, investigator Frank Ruckner and attorney Janette McMillan, repeatedly warned FBI officials of the Chinese intrusion during several meetings, according to the Daily Caller, citing a “former intelligence officer with expertise in cybersecurity issues who was briefed on the matter.”

Among the FBI officials warned was Peter Strzok — who was fired earlier this month from the agency over anti-Trump text messages he sent while spearheading an investigation of Trump’s 2016 campaign. Strzok did not act on the ICIG’s warning according to Gohmert — who added that Strzok and three other top FBI officials knew about an “anomaly” on Clinton’s server.

In other words; Strzok, while investigating Clinton’s email server, completely ignored the fact that most of Clinton’s emails were sent to a foreign entity — while IG Horowitz simply didn’t want to know about it.

Former United States Nuncio on the McCarrick Scandal: “Francis Knew. He Should Resign”

During the night between August 25 and 26, while Pope Francis was resting in Dublin, the newspaper “La Verita “ in Italian, “The National Catholic Register” and “Lifesite News” in English, and “InfoVaticana” in Spanish published — respectively introduced by Marco Tosatti, Edward Pentin, Diane Montagna, and Gabriel Ariza — the stunning accusation by the former apostolic nuncio in the United States, Carlo Maria Vigano, against those at the highest levels of the Church, starting with the pope himself, who knew for some time about the scandalous homosexual activity of the no-longer-cardinal Theodore McCarrick, but in spite of this did nothing about it.

Vigano was the Holy See’s ambassador in Washington from 2011 to 2016, after having been from 1998 to 2009 a delegate in Rome for the pontifical embassies, with the faculty of overseeing the personal dossiers of candidates for the episcopacy. And he had proof that as of 2000 the Vatican authorities had been informed by the nunciature in the United States of McCarrick’s immoral conduct, without this hindering his promotion as archbishop of Washington and as cardinal.

In 2006, it was Vigano himself who sent the secretary of state at the time, Tarcisio Bertone, a dossier against McCarrick compiled over the previous years by the nuncios in the United States at the time, Gabriel Montalvo and Pietro Sambi. And he did the same in 2008, forwarding to the highest Vatican authorities a report redacted by one of the most assiduous investigators of sexual abuse in the States, Richard Sipe.

In both cases, he received no reply. But when the information reached, by means unknown, Benedict XVI himself, there was an effect. Between 2009 and 2010 McCarrick was subjected — Vigano writes — to the following sanctions:…

Illinois Bishop: Pope’s Silence on McCarrick Case is ‘Not Adequate’

The bishop of Springfield, IL, has joined the growing band of prelates calling for a full investigation into the serious allegations brought by the former papal nuncio to the United States against high ranking churchmen, including Pope Francis.

In a statement Tuesday, Bishop Thomas J. Paprocki said that the former nuncio, Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, has “revealed a set of facts and circumstances that are deeply troubling as they relate to the awareness, actions, and inactions at the very highest levels of the Church” regarding the serial sexual abuse by Cardinal Theodore McCarrick.

Revoke Hillary’s Security Clearance

We are beginning to get a sense of the full magnitude of not only Hillary Clinton’s breach of her sworn commitments to safeguard American secrets during her disastrous stint as Secretary of State, but also of her betrayal of her country, as well.

Hillary’s conscious decision to violate secure communications protocols — enabled by, among others, her Muslim Brotherhood-tied top aide, Huma Abedin — was reportedly and predictably exploited by Communist China, and probably other hostile nations.

Evidently, every one of her official and personal emails was obtained in real time by a Chinese intelligence front operating out of Northern Virginia. That means that the highly classified information she received and transmitted, as well as other sensitive correspondence, was certainly compromised and probably exploited.

At a minimum, none of those implicated, including Hillary Clinton herself, should ever have access again to state secrets.

Penalty if Italy Doesn’t Pay Budget Share Says Oettinger

Di Maio repeats threat, Salvini clashes with Macron

(ANSA) — Berlin, August 29 — Italy will incur a penalty if it doesn’t pay its EU budget quota in a row over migrants, European Budget Commissioner Guenther Oettinger told Die Welt Wednesday.

“All EU States have assumed the obligation of paying their contributions within the established time,” he said.

“All the rest would be a violation of the treaties which would entail penalties”.

He said “Italy has won our support in tackling the migrant crisis and its consequences, I can only warn Rome about mixing the migrant issue with the EU budget”.

Deputy Premier Luigi Di Maio was undeterred by Oettinger’s statement, reiterating Wednesday that Italy will veto the EU budget unless it gets more help in dealing with migrants.

Oettinger, Di Maio said, “continues to make statements every day ever since we told him we’re not going to give them the money.” “We never heard from them when we asked them for a hand on migration.

“The only thing this EU understands is when you start to cut their money.

“Our position on the budget veto remains the same. If over the coming days they start to rediscover the spirit of solidarity with which the EU was founded, then we’ll talk about it”.

Italy’s new hardline stance on migrants has been criticised by French President Emmanuel Macron, who has said he is the adversary of European populists and nationalists.

Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, who agreed on migrants with Hungarian Premier Viktor Orban in Milan Tuesday, said Wednesday “the main adversary of Macron, looking at the polls, is the French people”.

He said “instead of giving lectures to other governments he should throw open his own borders, starting from the one at Ventimiglia (with Italy).

“And he should stop destabilising Libya for economic interests”.

Macron said on a visit to Denmark Wednesday that he was an adversary of Salvini and Orban, who criticised him when they met in Milan Tuesday — where Orban called Salvini “my hero” for trying to stop sea-borne migrants.

The French president said the pair “are right” to see him as their “main adversary” in Europe on the migrant issue.

“I will not give in to the nationalists and those who preach hatred,” Macron said.

“If they wanted to see me as their main adversary they are right”.

Some 100 migrants who landed from the coast guard ship Diciotti after a 10-day standoff with the EU arrived Wednesday at a Catholic-run reception centre in Rocca di Papa south of Rome.

The migrants were met by a crowd split between those welcoming them and those saying they were not welcome there — despite the fact that they will soon be sent around Italy.

The Democratic Party (PD) former mayor of the Lazio town, Pasquale Boccia, said ahead of their arrival: “it can’t be done, there is rancour on the part of the residents, which is turning into hatred, we’re already hosting enough of them”.

The head of the cooperative that runs the migrant centre in Rocca di Papa, Domenico Alagia, said “they will remain a few days in the centre and then will be welcomed by the diocese which said they were prepared to take them around Italy”.

Another 39 have remained in the hotspot in Messina, waiting to be transferred to Albania and Ireland, the only two nations who have said they will take some of the Diciotti migrants.

The Italian Bishops Conference (CEI) has said the 100 will be shortly transferred to the many dioceses who have given their availability: Turin, Brescia, Bologna, Agrigento, Cassano all’Jonio, Rossano Calabro, among others.

The stand-off came after Interior Minister Matteo Salvini kept the migrants aboard saying they would not land until the EU agreed to take them.

Salvini is under investigation by an Agrigento prosecutor for alleged kidnapping, illegal arrest and abuse of office.

Albanian Premier Edi Rama said Tuesday Italy had been left alone by the EU to cope with the migrant emergency.

Speaking in Genoa after agreeing to take in 20 Eritrean migrants from the Diciotti after the standoff, Rama said “Italy has been the most welcoming country in Europe in the last 30 years, but it has been left alone and nerves are no longer so solid, we intervened hoping that Europe would do something concrete to resolve the problem”.

“We (Albanians) were once the Eritreans. Italy was our promised land and the Italians did not ever leave us in the middle of the sea”. Migrants “should be drowned in the open sea”, a doctor at Spoleto hospital said on her Facebook page recently, sources said Tuesday.

The doctor works in the ER ward at the Umbrian hospital.

Il Messaggero newspaper said she called migrants “n**gers with Nike shoes and full bellies” and said they had scabies because of the “violence they perpetrated”.

The local health authority told ANSA it had started disciplinary proceedings against her.

The doctor made her remarks in a Facebook group with some 38,000 doctors on it.

Her profile had been deleted Tuesday morning.

Also on Wednesday, a European Commission spokesperson said migrants must consent when resettlement involves a transfer from an EU member like Italy to a third country like Albania.

Commenting on Rome’s deal with Tirana to take 20 migrants from the Diciotti ship, the spokesperson said: “When it is a question of bilateral accords between a member State and a third country”, the spokesperson said, “you have to ask them (the migrants) for details…there are several elements to take into consideration in assessing their legality”.

“In particular there is the consent of the people” to making asylum claims in countries other than those they arrived in, the spokesperson said.

Defence Minister Elisabetta Trenta will on Thursday propose to her EU colleagues a rotation of landing ports for the Sophia anti-human-trafficking mission so that not all migrants land in Italy, sources said Wednesday.

“Italy should not still be the only country to take on the problem, but also other member States,” she will put to them. The Libyan coast guard says it has intercepted some 400 migrants heading for Europe in the last week, including dozens of women and children, off its coast.

Coast guard spokesman Ayoub Gassim explained that the migrants received humanitarian aid and medical care and were taken to refugee camps in the cities of Zawiya e Tajoura.

Italy has a deal with Libyan coast guards to pull back migrants heading for Italy. Two Ukrainian people traffickers have been arrested for bringing 44 Afghan migrants including 12 children to Italy on board a sailboat from Turkey, police said Wednesday.

The boat landed near Noto in Sicily on Monday, they said.

Pope Bitter Over Viganò Case But Not Considering Resignation

ANSA told by close collaborators

(ANSA) — Vatican City, August 29 — Pope Francis is “embittered” by a letter written by Carlo Maria Viganò, the former top Vatican diplomat in the United States, which said Francis should step down for allegedly covering up a top US bishop’s sex abuse, his close collaborators told ANSA. The former Vatican diplomat said in the document that Pope Francis had protected the former Washington DC archbishop, Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, who is accused of sexually abusing young seminarians.

The pope is not considering resigning, however, the sources said. Viganò said he told Francis about McCarrick in 2013, saying he had been sanctioned by former pope Benedict XVI, but Francis did nothing about it.

Francis has said he will not dignify Viganò’s allegations with a reply.

The case has pitted conservative critics of Francis against progressive supporters who say the traditionalists are “weaponising” child abuse to attack the pope’s mercy-over-morals approach.

Viganò also claimed there was a powerful gay lobby in the Church he blamed for the abuse cover-ups, naming names.

ISI, Naxal, Christian and Secular Joint Conspiracy to Break India and Kill Hindu Leadership

After analysing 25,000 GB data and raiding urban naxals, police unearth ‘Break India conspiracy.’

Vicky Nanjappa | OneIndia Online | New Delhi | Aug 28, 2018::The nation wide raids conducted at the homes of prominent activists who allegedly have naxalite links is probably one of the biggest exercises. The raids at Delhi, Hyderabad, Ranchi, Goa and Mumbai were conducted after the police went through 25,000 GB of data seized from five arrested persons.

The police while going through the data stumbled upon the names of several persons, whose homes were raided today. It was found that these persons living in the cities were either directly or closely associated with the naxalites. Very strong links have emerged, said an official part of the exercise to OneIndia.

The data that was analysed in connection with the Elgaar Parishad case revealed that these persons were closely associated with the banned CPI (Maoist). They were allegedly involved in conspiring and taking part in movements with an intention of creating violence, officials also said…

Removal of Janmastami Posters by Fanatic Muslim in Bangladesh

Islam can’t tolerate the faith of others….

Atul Brahmachari | HENB | Dhaka | Aug 29, 2018:: A video posted in social media platform, ‘facebook’ shows that an old Muslim man with Islamic attires was removing posters of Janmsatami festival of Hindus in Dhaka.

The incident took place near Gana Bhavan (Public Administrative Building) in Bangladesh capital in broad day light at about 11.30 am.

Many passers by just looked at the craziness of the bearded man, but nobody could protest the matter.

The posters were mounted in the street and road side walls to highlight the festival of Janmastami as scheduled on 2nd September this year.

Hindus observe the birthday of Lord Krishna on Janmastami as their major festival.

In Islamic Bangladesh, the rights of observing the Hindu festivals are under severe suppression due to threat perception of fundamental Jihadi groups who do not allow such un-Islamic festivity in an Islamic country. Hindu persecution is all time high in Bangladesh and the Hindu population is decreasing rapidly there due to Islamic repression.

However, Hindus try to maintain their festivals unitedly in Bangladesh to keep the culture alive…

South Africa Civil War Looms as White Farmers, ‘Black Hitler’ “Willing to Die” Over Property Confiscation

As South African President Ramaphosa’s ‘land reform’ plans begin to confiscate white farmer-owned lands with no compensation, the rhetoric on both sides of the policy are beginning to signal little hope of avoiding direct inter-racial conflict, or another civil war.

Ramaphosa insists:

“This is no land grab. Nor is it an assault on the private ownership of property… Land reform in South Africa is a moral, social and economic imperative.

“By bringing more land into productive use, by giving more South Africans assets and opportunities, the country is creating conditions for greater, more inclusive and more meaningful growth”

But a number of black South Africans appear to see things a little differently to their president: “Let us kill the white man, the white man must die”

Finally, here is Lauren Southern’s controversial ‘Farmlands’ documentary, investigating the ‘white genocide’: “not only are the farm murders real, the genuine numbers are far higher than anyone imagined.”

[Comment: Watch Lauren Southern’s video. The communists in S.Africa and western media are covering up the sheer scale of the killings. If you can stomach a leftist “review” of this movie, check this out — www.accredited-times.com/2018/06/27/review-lauren-southerns-new-documentary-farmlands/ — the reviewer stopped watching after 5 minutes and fell into the programmed lie “so what, whitey deserves this” mentality. Main Macron Adversary the French — Salvini

‘Throw open borders instead of lecturing others’

(ANSA) — Rome, August 29 — Interior Minister Matteo Salvini said Wednesday “the main adversary of (French President Emmanuel) Macron, looking at the polls, is the French people”.

He said “instead of giving lectures to other governments he should throw open his own borders, starting from the one at Ventimiglia (with Italy).

“And he should stop destabilising Libya for economic interests”.

Macron said on a visit to Denmark Wednesday that he was an adversary of Salvini and Hungarian Premier Viktor Orban, who criticised him when they met in Milan Tuesday.

California U: We Must Remove Whites From Campus

After around 20 years in higher ed, and starting to see that I had just reinforced the glass ceiling above my head…I began to ask questions. Admin considered them impertinent and I was punished for asking things like “how do we know that a female will definitely be the best choice for this job?” and “by what metric is a certain minority under-represented?” and “what evidence do we have that diversity in the deans will make a better school?” among other questions.

I doubt I was the only one expressing such concerns, but my worries were all brushed aside in the name of identity politics. Higher ed has been doing this for decades now, and so I’m not as surprised as most when seeing what is only the natural consequence of making higher education more about identity politics than education.

Cal Poly University in California is obsessed with race, and a recent report from them highlights their dementedness:

In 2011, the campus was 63 percent Caucasian; in fall of 2017, it was less than 55 percent. Applications from underrepresented minority students doubled between 2008 and 2018, while overall applications during that time increased by just half that much. Progress is being made — and the university is more diverse now than at any time in its 117-year history — but there is still much work to do.

It doesn’t matter that there’s no evidence that education and research will be improved by more “diversity,” they only want more. Despite their “progress” in that regard, they still only want more. There is no end here, at least no good end for non-Diverse people.

  1. The bishops are stonewalling to keep the gay mafia in charge at the Vatican.

The head of the fish is rotten and stinks. This boys’ club has to go!

  2. Perhaps not the correct topic, but I am confused about how the RC church is handling this latest iteration of abuse. My RC husband just says, along with the public letters to local congregations from local bishop — that all are sinners and we all need to “heal the wound.”.

What is that? If I have an extensive, serious wound, I demand the doc find the cause, treat and excise/destroy that cause, and only then help the wound healing, usually from the inside out, not the other way.

And if the Gospel is the church’s mission? Not reading or hearing that from any but lay folks who won’t address the main evil.

I am praying for all of Christ’s Bride, as all true Church needs to be strong now.

Thanks for letting me present my confusion.

    • I hope to do a post on the current rot in the Church. I just need enough space to let the subject ripen. It is one I’ve been aware of for a long time, but only informally.

    • The Gospel isn’t the church’s mission.

The church’s mission is stuff like the works of mercy, i.e. a social order, and if we are to believe Thomas Aquinas, truth and reality from anywhere although the RC church is based heavily on Jewish thought.

The Gospel only gives direction (instruction).

      • The Gospels are the church’s founding documents, its roadmap, and an account of its early history.

Of course, the church is heavily based on Jewish belief: Jesus was a Jew, so how could it be otherwise?

Various denominations differ in their emphases, dogmas, etc. But all agree on the centrality of the Risen Christ for their belief system.

  3. It`s always the Muslims themselves who paint the best and most realistic picture of Islam and Muhammed.
