Mutti Goes Down While Denmark Gets Tough

Dr. Turley’s wrap-up of the too-little-too-late EU Conference last weekend makes his usual salient points:

And the icing on that cake of crow Merkel must eat? Besides Norway’s crackdown, look at Denmark’s amazing new acculturation rules for immigrants. This is tough stuff:

A new set of laws governing life in 25 low-income, heavily Muslim enclaves in Denmark – officially labeled as “ghettos” – is the latest salvo as Europe grapples with integrating an influx of migrants.

Beginning at the age of 1, “ghetto children” must be separated from their “ghetto parents” for 25 hours per week for mandatory instruction in so-called “Danish values,” which includes learning about the language and the traditions of Christmas and Easter, The New York Times reported.

Families that don’t comply with the rules could see their welfare payments cut off. Danish citizens outside of these areas are able to choose whether to enroll children in preschool up to age 6.

The integration of immigrants has been challenging for Denmark, a country known for having a small, rather homogeneous population, the vast majority of which are ethnic Danes. Lawmakers have focused on neighborhoods where immigrants, some placed in these areas by the government, live in dense concentrations and sometimes suffer from higher rates of unemployment and violence.

During a New Year’s speech, Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen reportedly warned ghettos could “reach out their tentacles onto the streets” by spreading violence, and that, because of ghettos, “cracks have appeared on the map of Denmark.”

Other measures are also being considered, including one that would double the punishment for certain crimes if they are committed in one of the 25 enclaves. Another would impose a four-year prison sentence on immigrant parents who force their children to make extended trips to their country of origin.

Justice Minister Soren Pape Poulsen told the Times these measures are not anti-Muslim.

“That’s nonsense and rubbish,” Poulsen said. “To me this is about, no matter who lives in these areas and who they believe in, they have to profess to the values required to have a good life in Denmark.”

Queen Margrethe said the same thing in her autobiography a few years ago when she claimed that Danes (herself included) had been “lazy” about making sure the new people became full-fledged Danes.

The rest is of that report is here.

And the good news keeps on coming…of course, the B says that when this crackdown comes in Denmark and the immigrants realize government is serious, they’ll all flee to Germany and Sweden. Places where you don’t have to work so hard.

  1. This is all well and good but will they enforce their own laws?

Especially once the grievance riots begin….

    • There is a 1400 year history of violent noncompliance with the laws of the infidels. So this is simply an admission that the noncompliance continues.

  2. Is cynicism a virtue or a punishment?

My difficulty with the above is that it sets a precedent where the state is accepted by wider society as having the right to intervene in family matters based on arbitrary reasoning (location for example). There is a clear moral hazard in this, a dictated socialisation/ism.

The irony of creeping welfare can be noticed – the invitation of migrants due to its availability, now the use of (denial of) welfare to those dependent on it as part of a state coercive measure.

So, you clever Danes, what if these newly educated ghetto kids decide finally, with a vengeance, that they did not like being indoctrinated as Danes, if they use their newly integrated position to sour Danish values from up close, or if your government decides rules like this should apply to all ? Remember you are giving bureaucracy permission here to turn on anyone to “reorganise” them, to impose the shape of society. They are doing this because the previous organisation did not work out as planned, they have it right this time?

I’m not Danish and am not in Denmark, so would not know the answer, nor if forced inclusion is a wise or foolish idea in this case.

    • I get your point and I think it’s valid. I mean what if I come, as a christian, and proclaim I don’t celebrate Yule, because Jesus was born – lets say, in September?

That is why the Church and the State should stay separate: The sole purpose of a state is justice, and the question is: Should the state reinforce church holidays on its citizens? Isn’t this a well proven and experienced shaky ground?

    • “Families that don’t comply with the rules could see their welfare payments cut off. ”

      Anon:

I have pretty much the same thoughts as you, with some additions.

A welfare state serves as a magnet for immigration, legal and illegal. Milton Friedman said you can have either immigration or a welfare state, but not both. Why are they giving immigrants or naturalized immigrants welfare payments at all?

Instituting a lifetime ban on welfare for immigrants and naturalized citizens would be helpful, as would extending that ban to all first-generation offspring. Doing away with government welfare would be best of all.

You make a good point in bringing up how successful governments have been in forcing children to attend government-sponsored schools of culture. Look how well it worked with American Indian children forced to attend boarding schools. Look how good the forced suppression of the Kurds by Turkey and Iraq turned out.

So, the government fails in its duty to protect the borders, brings in totally unsuitable immigrants, gives them free payment and benefits as a reward for rewarding Danish society, and the government now asks for extraordinary power of intrusion into family matters. Perhaps the government will get it completely right this time. The only minor downside to the experiment is that the government now has totalitarian powers free for the taking.

So, they open the border, pay totally unsuited immigrants to come and stay, fail in protecting people from the criminal acts of the immigrants they let in, and so are asking for unprecedented powers to remedy the situation they themselves created.

      What’s to not like?

      • Do not forget that islam is 80 pct. political system and 20 pct. religion. A fact which most Danes are acutely aware of. So in order to suppress the political part, which has totally unacceptable and undemocratic goals, you have to get your hands dirty by opposing the muslim political agenda – the religious section of islam is rightfully considered a tool of political islam. That is where the conflicts enter the scene.
Most people fail to appreciate that islam is primarily POLITICAL.

      • There is no historical precedent that Mohammedans could be integrated, assimilated or absorbed by infidel society. Vera, the poster below, points out correctly that the Moors been given every chance to remain in Spain after the Reconquista. Needless to mention that it is not in the nature of the beast to be ruled by the kafir, but to rule over the kafir. Those who ignore their history are condemned to repeat it.

    • That leaves me thinking about that old situation where Reconquista of Spain stipulated Muslim conversion. By and large, if I remember correctly, it did not work. Taqiya and all that? In the end, even the conversos were forced to leave.

    • Thanks for your replies. I seriously do not enjoy thinking this way, it is product of own bitter experience, but I just say it because it IS a reality in this world that some very heavy manipulation does go on, and that aside from idealistic errors/”errors” that tend to either lead down blind alleys or provide room for ever increasing management of their results.

    • I am a Dane, and I have seen the problem with migrants refusing to integrate for 40 years. The worst is not that newcomers refuse the country the entirely voluntarily have selected as their future home, but that 3’rd and 4th generation muslims (lets call the problem by its name) are worse than their parents and grandparent who were born here. We have numerous instances of children arriving at school, not able to speak one word danish, because they live in closed communities with no other contact to Denmark than the welfare office and the justice system. Muslims (called “non-western” top all the statistics your shouldn’t contribute to: Non-employment, violence, fraud, low rates at school, dropping out of educations and more. Remember that all schooling, including university, is paid by taxpayers here, anybody has the same chance, but that select community fails everywhere. Naturally there are exceptions, muslims doing well here, but they are as scarce as hen’s teeth. The measures from the PM is just show-off, in order to calm the public, they will have no effect. The first case will end in supreme court, who will call it what it is: Discrimination. The problem is solved at the border, and the solution is remigration. Go back to a country where the living is more to your taste.

      • Once registered in a country, and especially once nationality is obtained, migrants will not leave. The only real solution for unwanted visitors is to not provide for them beyond reasonable temporary shelter of detention, and then return them to where they came from. No harm done, and fewer will then try to enter.

Most countries have asylum laws however, the breakdown of Europe’s borders means they are now open to misuse as there is no longer the buffer effect of national responsibility of neighbouring countries.

  3. This is good news? Sorry, no sale. It’s just more of the futile “assimilation” rubbish that sounds like progress but means nothing. The invaders are not going to become good Danes.

    • Anon. You have it in a nutshell.
      ‘Kristallnacht’ will reverberate once more.
      The aggressors?
I think that those getting on in years who have not been ‘programmed’ know the answer …!

      • As a friend of mine who is thoroughly familiar with situation in Denmark observed, this “wake-up” call for the Danes comes at noon when the alarm should have been set for 7am. Assimilation and integration were never viable possibilities. Analogous to relying on chemo and radiation treatment for a cancer that must be excised to save the patient.

  4. Right!

Teach them all about the easter bunny, santa and how to adopt the nihilistic, materialistic “Western Culture” and everything will be just fine.
That’s not where the bodies are buried, my friends.

And, as mentioned by Anon and RonaldB, the increased government intrusion is a terrifying overreach that can be turned against the natives in the blink of an eye.

    • Just look at Tommy Robinsons plight, a perfect example of the state turning on it’s own.

  5. Reminds me of ‘Mungo’ in Blazing Saddles.
“Don’t shoot him, it just makes him mad.”
Danes enforcing this on Alpha Muslims…. this I gotta see.

  6. “Denmark Gets Tough” On whom?
Free housing, Free medical, Free education, Free welfare and now Free integration classes. No doubt these classes will provide more insight for the upcoming muslim generation to manipulate and subvert the Danish Government and laws.

  7. I rather believe this new campaign by the Danes is first and foremost a public relation campaign designed to make Danmark as unattractive as possible for migrants in the hope they will bypass Danmark and opt for Sweden or Germany.

    • Or perhaps to persuade the indigenous population that something is being done about the ‘immigrant problem’?

  8. Like everything coming from our politicians it’s too little, too late.

I’having a hard time recognizing the country I grew up in, where the police spent more time helping citizens and victims of crimes than harassing those same citizens by fining them for ridiculously minor offences and at the same time backing out when muslims(yes) decide that in spite of a region-wide ban on open fires it’s okay to light a bonfire in a wooded area to celebrate one of their religious holidays. When the police and fire department tried to get them to put out the fire, the muslims became threatening and violent and chased off the police and firefighters. ( https://ekstrabladet.dk/nyheder/samfund/politi-maatte-traekke-sig-under-muslimsk-baalfest-nu-kraever-minister-forklaring/7201691 ) in danish, sorry.

At the same time, we see our welfare-system crumbling under the load of a massively antisocial muslim minority, resulting in absolutely horrible service for our elders -the same people who built our welfare system with blood, sweat and tears.

It’s depressing and infuriating that the majority of danish voters has not yet seen/realized what is going on and that MSM is holding a veil over their eyes. And then there’s the Trump-bashing.. It just goes on and on and on.

Worst of all is probably the fact that we haven’t really got any politicians who can turn the ship around. At least not right now, since the only ones who might be able to do it are largely ignored and stigmatised by MSM.

I could go on for hours on end, but it probably won’t make any difference

  9. In Denmark the wast majoritet of children aged 1 and up seperated from their parents for 37 hours a week. Both mum and dad have to work to finance the welfare state!

      • Yes, these incomers are substitutes for the children she never had. Hence, Mutti Merkel, or, at least, that is how I understand it.
