Middle East Forum Plans Protest Rally for Tommy

The Middle East Forum has been at the forefront of the pushback for Western values. One of their most memorable investigations was a dangerous undertaking which involved going undercover in a number of American mosques to ascertain the percentage of radical mosques. They made their ethno-anthropological assessment using the same observation of objective behaviors in each case. I was pleasantly surprised to find that twenty percent of our mosques are not radicalized. Wish I knew where they are.

This investigation is still germane, even though it was done in 2011.

Now they are organizing for Tommy Robinson. I hope their rallies are hugely successful.

MEF Organizes 25,000 Strong Protest in Support of Tommy Robinson; Plans Additional Rallies

Tommy Robinson, the imprisoned English counter-Islamist activist, journalist, and book author, justifiably titled his autobiography Enemy of the State, for he has long been a target of the U.K. authorities impatient with his criticism of Islamism.

The Middle East Forum (MEF) is helping Robinson in his moment of danger. It does so in the context of its Legal Project which since 2007 has defended activists, journalists, politicians, et al. who face harassment, fines, or imprisonment because of their views concerning Islamism and related topics.

MEF is sponsoring and organizing the second “Free Tommy Robinson” gathering in London on July 14. MEF previously provided all the funding and helped organized the first “Free Tommy Robinson” event held June 9 in London.

MEF, along with a coalition of UK advocacy groups and international figures will assemble to advocate for Mr. Robinson’s release and demand greater protections for freedom of speech and freedom of the press in the United Kingdom. MEF is arranging for U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar (Republican of Arizona) to travel to London to speak alongside the Dutch political leader Geert Wilders, and others.

The latest incident began on May 25 with Mr. Robinson reporting on a rape-grooming trial involving Muslim defendants in Leeds, England, for which he was arrested, tried, convicted, sentenced to 13 months prison, and jailed — all in the course of a few hours. To make matters worse, he was tricked out of the right to confer with counsel. Now, he has been moved to historically violent Olney prison, where he is a potential target of Islamist gangs.

“The police allow rape gangs to operate for decades but swoop down within minutes on Tommy Robinson for a peccadillo,” notes Forum president Daniel Pipes. “We worry that his life is now in immediate peril.”

Forum director Gregg Roman adds: “Western democracy requires a robust public discussion of Islam — including terrorism, terrorist funding, Islamism, immigration and related matters — not its suppression. No matter one’s views of Mr. Robinson, all decent people must support his right to discuss controversial matters without fear of arrest, secret trial, and imprisonment.”

The Middle East Forum is aiding Mr. Robinson’s defense in three main ways:

Legally — By using Legal Project monies to fund his legal defense.
Diplomatically — By bringing foreign pressure on the UK government to ensure Mr. Robinson’s safety and eventual release.
Politically — By organizing and funding the 25,000-person “Free Tommy” London rally on June 9 and now the July 14 protest, also taking place in London.

  1. The UK has now become a police state. Slowly but surely they draft new laws that they say are there to protect us all when in fact it is to protect the foreign invaders leaving them free to drug, rape and pimp innocent white girls.
Of course TR will probably remain in prison under threat of death by Islamic gangs. No doubt he is being brainwashed in someway to tell us all when/if he gets out that he made a mistake by criticizing Islam and he realized this whilst having thinking time in his cell.
The problem is not just Islam, this goes all the way to the top of government and royalty so surpressing anyone who could potentially expose them is their priority.
All of us are now TR and can be arrested by the thought police in Britain for any remarks about any religion or race, except, that is, white Christians who can be mocked without fear of arrest. Our government and police no longer protect the indigenous only the immigrant scum.

Peaceful protest is not working, time to fight back by other means necessary for the safety of our children and grandchildren.

  2. Is it possible to donate to the MEF? If so could someone point me in the right direction?
This is the first time I’ve even heard of them and it’s greatly encouraging to learn that such organisations exist.

  3. Many thanks to the Middle East Forum.
Free speech is crushed in the UK.

  4. Daniel Pipes is a sharp guy, it’s good to see him taking up the cause for Tommy Robinson.

I wish Christopher Hitchens was still alive and able to speak out for Tommy, his words of wisdom could really be helpful now in 2018 England.

  5. Wow. I had no idea that the Middle East Forum had organized the June 9th rally, let alone was planning this one. Good for them, and thanks for this information. It’s good to know that such a well-respected think-tank is actively engaged with this situation.

  6. I have no expertise in the matter, but I’m skeptical on whether their image in other countries has any meaning to the British leaders.

Britain has a long history of fiddling with the electoral process: rotten boroughs, weakening of the House of Lords, massively-powerful bureaucracies tenured under civil service, massively-partisan press involved in large-scale cover-ups, and the presence of large numbers of voting immigrants who, with prior intent, vote unflaggingly leftist.

In other words, the British leaders have nothing to fear from not being popular, and those leaders who have been compliant, once they resign, can look forward to a soft, highly remunerated position in the UN, EU or other globalist organizations funded by bankers, communists, or Muslims.

So, what do they care if they get bad press in the US, or even in Canada, unlikely as that seems? Even in the US, we’re approaching a state of complete electoral paralysis: a few seats shifting to the Democrats or McCain-style “Republicans” will guarantee that no legislation or approvals whatsoever get through Congress.

  7. Good news to hear of another rally for Tommy in July. Hopefully all those who assembled June 9 will return, plus more. Jailing Tommy may prove to be a big mistake for the establishment elites. They must realize now if Tommy is harmed in prison by muslim prisoners, the protests could grow beyond their control.

  8. Thank you Dymphna and Gates Of Vienna for doing all you can from the US to help Tommy Robinson… In my little corner of France, me and a handful of friends are also doing our best: send letters, write to the British Embassy in Paris, inform others, etc… It’s great to see that the fight to free Tommy is now worldwide!

  9. I have had a problem with Daniel Pipes for several years. He takes great pains to differentiate between “Islamism” and Islam. I found that disingenuous.
In the words of Turkey’s ruler for life, “there is no moderate Islam, there is only Islam.”
So, it is with great appreciation that he and his org. have taken up TR’s cause!
    Thank you Mr. Pipes.

    • For those who don’t know, Daniel Pipes is president of The Middle East Forum (MEF). The YouTube video referenced above (from just before Trump’s election to the presidency) is amusing for Pipes’ condescension toward Trump. I wonder if he walked that back at all? OTOH, I’d not have thought Pipes would ever mount such a big pushback for Tommy.

Trump is, if nothing else, a very quick study who listens closely to those advisers whose opinion he trusts.
