Mohammed Cartoon Contest in the Dutch Parliament

Update: The PVV sends this email address to which entrants may send their cartoons: muhammadcartoons@pvv.nl

Geert Wilders is planning to hold a Mohammed cartoon contest in the Dutch Parliament later this year. The PVV says it has obtained approval for the event; it will be interesting to see if the Dutch government finds a way to prevent it from happening.

Bosch Fawstin, the winner of the 2015 Mohammed cartoon contest in Texas, will serve as judge. He’s an excellent choice for that position.

The PVV sent out this press release today:

International Muhammad Cartoon Contest to Be Organized in Dutch Parliament

Geert Wilders MP, leader of the Dutch Party for Freedom (PVV), the second biggest party in the Dutch Parliament and the largest opposition party in the Netherlands, is going to organize an international Muhammed cartoon contest.

The Dutch Counter-terrorism Agency NCTV had just given the green light to organize a Muhammad cartoon contest in the secured PVV quarters of Dutch Parliament later this year.

Mr. Wilders has invited American cartoonist Bosch Fawstin, winner of a similar contest in Garland, TX, in May 2015, to act as a judge in the contest.

Geert Wilders MP: “Freedom of speech is threatened, especially for Islam critics. We should never accept that. Freedom of speech is our most important freedom.”

More information will be provided soon.

Below are excerpts from a Reuters article about this Islamophobic event that adds some extra-special MSM spin to the story:

Dutch anti-Islam party to hold Prophet Mohammad cartoon competition

(Reuters) — The Freedom Party of Dutch anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders will hold a competition of cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammad, it said on Tuesday.

The party said the plan to hold the competition in the party’s secure offices in Dutch Parliament had been approved by the Dutch Counter-terrorism Agency NCTV.

Cartoons depicting Mohammad have provoked violent responses in the past.

In 2015, Islamist gunmen killed 12 people at the Paris offices of the French secularist satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo, which had printed cartoons of the Prophet. In 2005, the publication in a Danish newspaper of a dozen cartoons depicting the Prophet led to violent protests across the Muslim world.

Wilders’ Freedom Party is the leading opposition party in parliament after coming in second place in elections last March. He has called for the Koran to be banned, and says Islam is a totalitarian faith.

“Freedom of speech is threatened, especially for Islam critics,” Wilders said in a statement. “We should never accept that. Freedom of speech is our most important freedom.”

American cartoonist Bosch Fawstin, winner of a similar contest in Garland, Texas, in May 2015, has been asked to judge the Dutch contest, which will be held later this year.

  1. Wilders is right, but maybe not sensible to organize an action like this. He is despised in his country (which prophet isn’t?) and meanwhile admired abroad. Like forsaid in Scripture, in the End of times the lie will reign and people won’t stand the Truth. It is going to be dark in Europe…

    • Deeee-spized?

      Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally?!?

By WHOM, I might ask?!? Of course, the poor EUropeans might find themselves unemployed deplorables iffen they actually said what they were thinking.
      OR worse……….

……………..kinda like that there ‘Robinson’ fella.

  2. Please post an address to which I might send an entry. I had one in the Garland contest. Many thanks.

  3. People in passing, who are not familiar with the Islamic faith, will wonder why the drawing of their prophet causes Muslims to become apoplectic. Maybe this should be explained.

The Koran repeatedly refers to their prophet as the perfect man and role model, which automatically is supposed to give him divine immunity from any criticism. However, the infidels have been reading up on the life of the prophet and discovered, alas, that the man had a few minor faults. He was a warlord, he had no problem with killing anybody that opposed him, he was very fond of young girls, and despite having conversations with the Archangel Gabriel himself over a period of about twenty years, had some strange ideas about the universe.

For example, on being asked where the sun went after sunset, he said it slid into the mud. Perhaps we should not be too critical of him because he never attended a school, never received any tuition, and never mixed with learned people. To be fair to him, he never actually promised the jihadis 72 virgins each, that was an incentive added at a much later time. So, anybody tempted to draw the prophet may want to illustrate some of these minor faults, particularly the one with him and his 6-year-old bride.

That depiction strikes at the root of Islam because if the prophet himself was just another warlord, and as fallible as the rest of us, what does that signify about the authenticity and sanctity of the Koran, which is the word of God?

    • There are no 72 vrigins, no 6 year old brides. Many scholars have debunked this claim. If you like you may consult Javed Ahmed Ghamidi website.

Secondly prophets are not perfect humas, but they displayed extraordinary traits as prophets. If you read the life story of each prophet you will amazed beyond imagination. Everybody has mistakes but that doesnt mean they are evil. All prophets from Adam to Muhammad came with same message. Gods faith is the same, we humas are divided and made different religious groups.

The problem is with muslims not understanding thier faith and living in complete ignorance. They project such wrong ideas about Islam and thats why today muslims suffer and non muslims are unable to understand what is going on. It is not islams fault in my view it is misguided muslims who have become liars, hypocrites and arrogant.

you may watch this video, it is in Urdu but has english subtitles.

As for quran My advice: read it with context (1500 years ago in tribal Arabic society), every verse has some socio historic story. Secondly understand the audience of quran or god: god is not directly talking to you or me or these extremist criminals. Throughout He address sometimes to prophet, his wives, his companions, arab tribes, children of isreal, Christians so on…..once you understand the context and audience you will understand what is meant by this verse.

      hope you find this useful

  4. “No 6 year old brides” This isn’t true, the Quran itself describes how Muhammad married a 6 year old and raped her at 9 in order consummate that marriage. It further describes how Muhammad beat one of his wives. Further Islamic rules are religious and only apply to Muslims and not anyone else who doesn’t follow Islam. One other thing Islam allows Muslims to lie about Islam and themselves if either are perceived to be under attack. According to Islam simply criticizing the religion is considered both a sin and an attack which invokes the lie clause. This means that any debate regarding Islam with Muslims could be tainted from the start since that debate could be seen as a sin and an attack against Islam, Muhammad, or Allah/God. After all how would one know if the Muslim is being honest or lying in Islam’s defense in such a debate? And yes, I did indeed examine the Quran.

    • Umm no I am sure you are mistaken. There is no mention of 6 year bride, no raping of 9 year old. Please consult again. there is no such material in the Quran. Perhaps you are talking about Hadis (collection of some sayings of the prophet). Hadis were collected about in 200 years after death of Prophet. It is not a holy scripture but a historical record with inaccuracies. Muslims have made huge blunders in interpreting Hadis, it is like playing with fire. And beating of wife information is also inaccurate, not in Quran. That is exactly the issue I was trying to address, ignorantly interpreting Quran is like opening the gates of hell.

Yes ofcourse islamic rules only apply to those who follow it. As for the rest of your comments I am really confused. God asks us to tell the truth even it if goes against our own self. God asks us to argue, to reason and give logics to make your point. Thats exactly what all the messengers did. Only messengers are caretakers of faith. The rest of us we should only follow it to the best we can. no ridiculing, no lying, no killing. It is open to criticism and muslims can discuss with complete grace and politeness. If people dont agree then move on and leave it. Muslims aint responsible for others. that is not their jurisdiction. Thats it. If anyone body says other wise they are misguided. Like I said muslims today are really ignorant because that is how they have been raised in the past centuries. It is time for revival.
