Gates of Vienna News Feed 6/17/2018

Two rival gangs came into conflict early this morning at the twelfth annual “Art All Night” Festival in Trenton, New Jersey. A pair of gunmen started shooting at each other, and wounded 22 people, one of them a 13-year-old boy. One of the gunmen was shot dead, reportedly by a police officer, and the other is in police custody.

In other news, the migrant rescue ship Aquarius finally reached Spain, to the cheers of a welcoming crowd of migrant-caregivers. Meanwhile, the latest polls indicate that almost 70% of Italians support Interior Minister Matteo Salvini’s policy of stopping the migrant ferry operations run by NGOs.

BLM Agents Open Fire on Innocent Couple, Shoot Woman Because ATV Drove Near Restricted Area

Pedro and Denise Mejia feel lucky to be alive after they were nearly murdered when their all-terrain vehicle broke down and they said they were confronted by federal officers from the Bureau of Land Management who opened fire with on them with no warning.

The couple was exploring the deserts of Joshua Tree National Park when their ATV got a flat tire. They said that because they did not have a spare, they were traveling much slower than they would if they had four properly inflated tires. At around 11:00 p.m. on June 10, they came face to face with federal agents whom the Mejias said immediately opened fire on them. In a hail of bullets, Denise was struck in the head and hand before BLM agents ceased fire. Predictably, police are telling a different story.

A press release issued by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, who is investigating the shooting, claimed that the Mejias were in a restricted area and failed to heed BLM officer commands to stop:

(A) Bureau of Land Management officer attempted to stop an off-road vehicle and an officer involved shooting occurred.

Incredulously, a detective with the department who is investigating the officer-involved shooting actually blamed the nearly murdered victims for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. RSO Investigator Armado Munoz reportedly told KMIR News:…

Gunfire Erupts at New Jersey Arts Festival; 22 Wounded

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Gunmen opened fire at an all-night arts and music festival early Sunday morning, sending people running over each other in the scramble to safety, authorities said. One suspect was killed and 22 people, including two suspects, were injured.

Of 17 people treated for gunshot wounds, four of them, including a 13-year-old boy, were critically injured but three had been upgraded to stable by evening, leaving only one man believed to be a suspect in critical condition, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri.

The shots rang out around 2:45 a.m. Sunday as an estimated 1,000 or more people were attending the Art All Night Trenton festival that showcases local art, music, food and films.

Onofri said numerous fights inside and outside had prompted police to tell organizers that the event needed to be shut down because “there was a report that the mood inside the venue had been changing.” Organizers were in the process of doing that when the shooting started, he said.

Authorities believe several neighborhood gangs had a dispute at the venue, and multiple suspects began shooting at each other, with police returning fire, Onofri said.

Tahaij Wells, 33, the suspect who was killed, had recently been released from prison and was on parole since February on homicide-related charges, Onofri said. Amir Armstrong, 23, listed in stable condition, was charged with a weapons offense. It was not immediately known if he had an attorney who could comment.

Multiple weapons were confiscated, including a handgun with an extended capacity magazine containing more ammunition than is allowed under New Jersey law, Onofri said…

High School Won’t Recognize Valedictorian…so Dad of 5.3 GPA Student Does Something Extraordinary

In a world where everyone gets a participation trophy, something amazing happened on a highway in Wake County, North Carolina, where a father refused to let his son’s amazing accomplishments go unnoticed, for fear they might offend those who didn’t acheive the same level of greatness…

A dad in North Carolina brought his recently graduated son a billboard recognizing him as valedictorian even though the school refused to do so.

Garry Allmon purchased the large digital sign for his son, Joshua, on U.S. Highway 264 in Wake County, North Carolina to celebrate his four years of hard work.

Joshua’s school recently did away with naming a valedictorian and replaced it with the Latin honors ranking system as a “better way to recognize students who may have barely missed being named valedictorian or salutatorian by several decimal places,” according to News and Observer.

How Deep is the Deep State, Part 1

This study will only scratch the surface of this subject. There is so much to this subject as well as the people involved that it would take an encyclopedia to disseminate all that is involved. The disgusting thing, in my opinion, is that the so-called Americans that are involved keep silent about their involvement with these anti-American groups. This has been referred to as the Deep State. MSM talks very little of it because they are part of it. One of their purposes is to control what you hear in the media, television, radio and the printed media. They also want to control your buying and selling habits. And as we have seen over the last few years they are doing what they can to control what we can say in the public arena i.e. Hate Speech laws that have attempted to silence primarily the conservative voice. In Colorado in 2008 our Governor, Bill Ritter, signed a SB 200 which did many things to the freedoms of Coloradoans. It forced businesses to open bathrooms to both sexes penalizing anyone who complained about a male in the women’s bathroom, shower or locker room. It gave transgendered people special rights by making it illegal to print anything that was offensive to the LBGT community. In reality, this would include printing a Bible in Colorado as the verses in it that refer to homosexuality as an abomination is offensive to them. In the quadrennial marathon to see who can be the nation’s worst governor, Colorado’s Bill Ritter is in a full sprint. On Thursday, Ritter signed Senate Bill 200 which expands “anti-discrimination” law to cover sexual orientation, meaning not only homosexuality or bisexuality, but also “transgender status or another person’s perception thereof.”…

In a report that came out in report that came out in 2013 the government listed 72 types of people and organizations that they considered possible terrorists. I reported on this when it happened because of all the people and organizations listed no Islamic terrorist organization was listed. I will list a few but I would advise you to go to the website and read them all keeping in mind that this list was put together by the Obama government we elected: 1. Those that talk about “individual liberties”; 5. Those that are interested in “defeating the Communists”; 6. Those that believe “that the interests of one’s own nation are separate from the interests of other nations or the common interest of all nations”; 12. “Anti-Muslim”; 15. Members of the Family Research Council; 16. Members of the American Family Association; 22. Anyone that is “opposed to the New World Order”; 45. Those that are “anti-global”; 59. “Returning veterans”; 65. Those that are against illegal immigration and 72. Evangelical Christians. [2] Keep in mind that this list was compiled by our government who is supposed to protect our rights they just listed as possible terrorist activities. Also keep in mind that this was done the second year into Obama’s second term which tells us what direction he was taking America.

Shooting at Tumwater Walmart, Authorities Say

Shots were reportedly fired at the Walmart in Tumwater about 5 p.m. Sunday, a Thurston County dispatcher said.

The dispatcher said there were 911 reports of shots being fired both inside and outside the store on Littlerock Road.

Multiple law enforcement units were en route to the store, the dispatcher said.

Darren Gossler of Elma was in the store when the shooting started. He tweeted: “I was in the dairy section. Heard about 5 or 6 pops. Ran out a side emergency exit and attempted to run to my car in the parking lot but heard 4 more pops in the lot. Caught a quick glimpse of a male with what appeared to be a handgun. Ducked under some cars and ran to Costco…

Socialism Versus Education

Educated people can reflect on what is being done to them. Ignorant people do not know enough to reflect on much of anything. More and more, American students lack basic skills and fundamental knowledge. How can they understand proposals made by politicians, media, and government?

Igor Shafarevich, a famous Russian mathematician, wrote a 1980 book called “The Socialist Phenomenon.” Shafarevich explained that enforced equality was a constant obsession of socialists. To achieve it, they were willing to adopt extreme and indeed murderous measures. Shafarevich “argues that socialism is essentially nihilistic, unconsciously motivated by a death instinct. He concludes that we have the choice of either pursuing death or life.” Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn comments in his Foreword: “[Shafarevich] provides us with a rare opportunity of receiving a systematic analysis of the theory and practice of socialism from the pen of an outstanding mathematical thinker versed in the rigorous methodology of his science. (One can attach particular weight, for instance, to his judgment that Marxism lacks even the climate of scientific inquiry.)”

The abolition of private property, which was widely pursued in the Soviet Union and China, caused the deaths of tens of millions of people. (One horrific example: 7 million Ukrainians were starved to death in 1932-33.) These ruthless ideologues were not playing around. Do you think they would hesitate to use any practice whatever that could help them transform the schools?

Soft Jihad in America

By Itu Laze

“False Identity” — the second and more explosive of two documentaries. (first part here) — unmasks ‘soft Jihad’ in America. In it, Arabic-speaking Israeli Channel 10 journalist, Zvi Yehezkeli courageously concealed his identity to expose Islam’s somewhat shocking “quiet conquest” of the U.S.

Since the August 2004 discovery of the Muslim Brotherhood’s 1991 Explanatory Memorandum and The Investigative Project’s 2012 film, Grand Deception, these documentaries have further revealed the extent of societal penetration sought or achieved by a large and growing, but secret, Islamic soft jihad army that seeks to subvert the U.S. and enfold it within a global Islamic empire.

The success of supremacist Muslims has gone unchallenged primarily since U.S. political decision-makers and media outlets refuse to publicly discuss this immense threat, let alone stop this terrifying reality.

“Da’wa is the Number 1 Weapon!” asserts an American Muslim in Belle Dale, Florida — a convert renamed Abu Bakar, and author of the book, 2064 — Islamic America. Formerly a successful U.S. corporate strategic consultant, he now levers his profession to propagate Islam.

“Why wouldn’t I take the knowledge and experience that Allah has blessed me with to advance Islam in America,” asks Abu Bakar, rhetorically. He labors together with Belle Dale Muslim Yusuf al-Muslet to transform that locale into a model Islamic town for the rest of America to follow.

In this new documentary, al-Muslet expounds on the Jihad stages that also coincide with the classic Ikhwan (Muslim Brotherhood) scheme. “The first Jihad is an internal [political] Jihad, and then comes Jihad of war (sword).”

Suspect Killed: 22 Injured in Shooting at New Jersey Arts Festival, Authorities Say

At least two gunmen opened fire at an arts and music festival in Trenton, N.J., early Sunday, injuring at least 22 people, authorities said.

Shortly before 3 a.m., police received a call about multiple shots being fired during Art All Night, a 24-hour event that draws thousands. Investigators believe that one of the suspects, a 33-year-old man, was fatally shot by a police officer, while the other has been arrested, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri told reporters.

Onofri said “multiple individuals opened fire within the venue,” a historic building near downtown Trenton, and suspects also fired weapons outside. At least 17 of those injured were hit by gunfire, including a 13-year-old boy who is in “extremely critical condition” and three others who are in critical condition, he said. The rest suffered other injuries during the chaos.

Onofri said the shooting appears to be related to a dispute among people at the event, and police confiscated several weapons. The prosecutor remained tight-lipped about other details of the shooting, including what the dispute was about, who the suspects are and what types of guns were seized…

Why Do They Hate Us?

A new study by the Washington Times shows that 90% of the broadcast coverage of President Trump remains negative, even after the accomplishments of his first 500 days. Certainly, the so-called intelligentsia hate Donald Trump, but they hate Trump not just as an individual — they hate him because he sides with us.

They’ve hated us — those heartland Americans clinging to our guns and religion — long before Trump came along and will do so long after he is gone. The Justice Department’s I.G. report has confirmed widespread prejudice among top Justice and FBI officials, but it’s a mistake to think this bias is directed against Trump per se. Officials like Peter Strzok were intent on “stopping” Trump, but stopping him from doing what? Stopping him from restoring the right of ordinary Americans to govern their country?

There exists among progressives a widespread culture of intolerance and hatred directed at the middle class. I’m not the only one, I’m sure, who finds the behavior of Robert De Niro, Jimmy Kimmell, Joy Behar, and the rest of them repellant.

With the Trump presidency, everyday citizens have gained a voice in Washington. At exactly the same time, media attacks on these Americans have exploded. The inference is clear: Hollywood, the mainstream media, and academe believe that ordinary Americans must be silenced. Only the “smart” ones, as leftists consider themselves, have a right to be heard. The left is attempting to silence the opposition and has been doing so for a long time…

It’s important for conservatives to understand just how extreme the left’s position has become. Americans have always lived under the fiction that “it can’t happen here.” Our constitution and democratic traditions are supposed to protect us from totalitarianism. But progressives don’t care about democracy. In 2012, Ruth Bader Ginsburg famously told Egyptian revolutionaries she “would not look to the U. S. Constitution, if I were drafting a constitution in the year 2012.” “I might look at the constitution of South Africa,” she added. The year after she spoke, there were 17,068 murders in South Africa. For the same year, there were 12,253 murders in the entire U.S. — a country more than six times as populous as South Africa.

Manitoba Liberal Calls Crash That Paralyzed Fellow Legislator a “Gift”

His car hit a moose in a collision that very nearly left him dead.

Steven Fletcher, a Conservative MP from 2004-2015, became a quadriplegic from a car accident in 1996.

His car hit a moose in a collision that very nearly left him dead.

He was elected to the Manitoba Legislature as a PC but now sits as an independent.

Earlier this week, he was debating a bill on moose hunting, when he said that he would not mind if moose were wiped out completely.

An understandable position for someone in his position.

Judy Klassen the MLA for Kewatinook and the former interim leader of the Liberal party in Manitoba, showing the level of class we have come to expect from Liberal legislators, said that Fletcher’s 1996 accident was a “gift”, saying that the moose gave him the ability to become an advocate for people living with disabilities.

Only in Canada Would We Pay $4.5 Billion for Something That Could Have Been Free

The federal government’s decision to buy the Trans Mountain pipeline project should be met with cautious optimism.

The federal government announced today that they would spend $4.5 billion to buy the Trans Mountain pipeline project from Kinder Morgan Canada Ltd. The move ends months of uncertainty for the beleaguered oil and gas industry in Alberta. Finance Minister Bill Morneau’s bold move heads off a potential constitutional crisis over the contentious pipeline project. Interesting Political Calculus by the Liberals

The investment is a bold move by the federal Liberals. The decision will be wildly popular in Alberta. The Liberals are unlikely to improve upon the four seats they won in Alberta in 2015. However, this investment may prevent the Liberals from being wiped off the electoral map in Alberta next year.

The response to the purchase will be much more mixed in British Columbia. Greenpeace’s Mike Hudema has already gone on record about the purchase.

“Trudeau is gambling billions of Canadian taxpayer dollars on an oil project that will never be built — a project that Kinder Morgan itself has indicated is ‘untenable’ and that faces more than a dozen lawsuits, crumbling economics, and a growing resistance movement that is spreading around the world.”

Trudeau Earmarks Billions Overseas While Canadians Plead for His Help

It started as an angry response to the latest giveaway from Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Just a few days ago, our prime minister earmarked $3.8 billion of Canadian taxpayers’ money to fund girls’ education overseas.

I wrote a comment on Facebook’s Help Canadians First page when someone posted the story at the The Hill Times.

“And 30,000 of our people are without a place to sleep every night in this country. Disgusting!” I wrote.

Several hours later, I received a response that floored me.

“Like Me,” a homeless Canadian wrote.

The story suddenly hit home.

Think about this for a moment.

Trudeau just used $3.8 billion of Canadian taxpayers’ money for a cause — his own feminist cause — halfway around the world.

And he still hasn’t found a way to bring some 30,000 Canadians in from the cold.

It just can’t be allowed to go on.

A NO-DEAL Brexit which avoids economic disaster is still possible — despite the bungled negotiations, according to a report of leading economists. The notion of the UK “crashing out” without a deal could be dodged by creating a new “zero tariff” transition period which would avoid the threat of disruption at customs posts.

The new proposal, in which neither side levies tariffs on the other’s goods, is contained in a paper produced by the pro-Brexit Economists for Free Trade (EFT).

German MEP Reveals ‘Bavarian Revolt’ Could Stop EU’s Brexit Bullying Amid Threat to Merkel

A conflict between two sister parties in Germany — the CSU and Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU) — has placed the Government on the brink of collapse.

The German rupture rests on migration, with the Interior Minister Horst Seehofer advocating laws that would turn back refugees at the border — something Mrs Merkel has ruled out.

However, in an unlikely turn, the threat to Mrs Merkel’s future and the current migration row could have a huge impact on the future of Brexit talks.

Woman Yelling ‘Allahu Akbar’ Slashes Two With Blade in France

Marseille (AFP) — Two people were hurt in a town in southern France on Sunday when a woman shouting “Allahu akbar” (God is greatest) attacked them in a supermarket with a boxcutter knife, prosecutors said.

A customer was struck in the chest during the late-morning assault in La Seyne-sur-Mer, outside the Mediterranean port of Toulon, but the wound is not life-threatening, prosecutor Bernard Marchal told AFP.

A woman working at a checkout counter was also cut over her eye. Both casualties were taken to hospital.

“It appears to be an isolated case by a person with known psychological problems,” Marchal said, “though that doesn’t exclude the possibility that she may have been radicalised.”

“Several witnesses have quoted her as saying it was Allah who told her to do it, that they were all miscreants and that she wanted the police to kill her,” the prosecutor said.

He added that “contrary to what was said at the start, she was not wearing a veil, but a black tunic over black trousers and black glasses.”

[…]

The 24-year-old assailant, who did not have a police record, was overpowered by a customer and two supermarket employees and taken into custody.

“I grabbed her wrists to get hold of the cutter,” said the customer, an electrician who gave only his first name, Sebastien.

“I asked her ‘Why did you do it.’ She did not answer.”

The woman “was in a panic, she was afraid, she did not understand what was happening to her, she had no strength left,” Sebastien said.

Police later searched her home to determine if she had any links to the Islamic State group, but Marchal said they found only an old Koran and an Algerian flag. A computer was seized from the studio where she lived a few kilometres (miles) from the shop.

UN General Assembly Approves Another Anti-Israel Resolution

At an emergency meeting held on June 13th, the United Nation General Assembly adopted another one-sided resolution against Israel. The resolution, proposed by Turkey and Algeria, deplored the use of allegedly excessive, disproportionate and indiscriminate force by Israeli forces against Palestinian civilians in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem, and particularly the Gaza Strip…

U.S. Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley minced no words in her condemnation of the resolution before the vote:

“This resolution holds Hamas completely unaccountable for most of the recent unrest. It blames everything on Israel. But the facts tell a different story. It is Hamas and its allies that have fired over a hundred rockets into Israel in the past month, hoping to cause death to as many civilians and as much destruction as possible. It is Hamas that has used Palestinian civilians as human shields at the boundary fence, seeking to incite violence and overrun the border. It is Hamas that refuses to cooperate with the Palestinian Authority to unite in the pursuit of peace. It is Hamas that calls for the destruction of the state of Israel within any borders. And yet the resolution before us not only fails to blame Hamas for these actions, it fails to even mention Hamas.”

Bannon Says Trump “Will Run the Tables” In Midterms if He Does’t Fold on DACA

It has been nearly a year since Steve Bannon was ousted from the White House. And in the time since, Bannon — who played a critical role in getting Trump elected — has kept a low profile. But on Sunday, he made his triumphant return to the Sunday shows — his first appearance since leaving the White House — to talk about DACA, Trump’s “zero-tolerance” border policy, Trump’s recent triumph in North Korea and many other topics with ABC’s Jonathan Karl on “This Week.”

Asked about the Trump administration’s decision to separate children from their parents at the border, Bannon stood his ground and defended the administration’s policy, pointing out that people coming over the border are criminals at that point, and US law doesn’t allow children to be kept with their criminal adults.

“The president has been enforcing a “zero-tolerance” policy along the southern border and I want him to enforce the law…We have a crisis on the Southern border.”

First Aquarius Migrants Arrive to Cheers in Spain

The 630 migrants whose rescue sparked a major migration row in Europe began disembarking in Spain on Sunday after a turbulent week that saw Italy turn them away.

The first of three ships transporting the group, an Italian coast guard vessel called the Datillo, pulled into Valencia harbour just before 6:30 am (0430 GMT) with 274 migrants on board, according to the Red Cross.

The Aquarius itself, the rescue ship chartered by a French NGO which has been at the centre of the crisis, pulled into port some four hours later under a clear blue sky at the port in southeastern Spain.

Italy Demands Migrant NGO Boats Leave Mediterranean, Mocks Leftist Crew Members

Matteo Salvini has demanded the Netherlands recall the Dutch-flagged ‘rescue’ ships of open borders NGOs, declaring that Italy refuses to be complicit in the “illegal immigration business”.

Deputy Prime Minister and interior minister Matteo Salvini hit out at German ‘rescue’ charities operating the Lifeline and the Seefuchs on Saturday morning, noting that the vessels were hanging around the Libyan coast, “waiting to pick up their next load of human” brought to sea by criminal and sometimes terror-linked people-smugglers.

Nearly 70 Per Cent of Italians Back Salvini’s Stand Against EU on Migrant Ferries

Almost 60 percent of Italians say it was right to shut their ports to ships transporting illegal migrants from Africa, and 68 percent say populist interior minister Matteo Salvini was correct to stand up to the EU on the issue.

The poll comes as a convoy of ships carrying more than 600 migrants docks at the Spanish port of Valencia, a week after they were picked up close to Africa for transport to Italy, before Salvini refused to take them.

These European Countries Are Refusing to Accept the Unchecked Influx of Migrants

Authored by Daisy Luther via The Organic Prepper

Much has been written about the unchecked influx of migrants into Europe recently. As the EU promotes the warm, fuzzy, “inclusive” policies that are overwhelming countries with immigrants, some of those countries are bluntly starting to say, “no more.” At the same time, other countries seem to be quietly preparing for…something… without being quite so forthcoming about the event for which they are readying themselves.

Scientist: Advanced Robots May Enslave Humans — Then Wipe US Out

While a new study shows that people are getting dumber, robots are getting smarter. In fact, says one expert, artificially intelligent automatons may reach a point where they will outsmart man, seize control, and then enslave humans before sending us the way of the dodo.
