A Moroccan man claiming to be armed with firearms and a bomb took hostages in Paris, dousing a pregnant woman with gasoline during the standoff. Eventually police were able to secure the release of the hostages and take the suspect into custody. His motive is unknown.

One of the primary reasons why the middle class in America is disappearing so rapidly is because of skyrocketing health care costs. Families all over the country are being absolutely crushed by extremely high health insurance premiums, ridiculously high deductibles and very large out-of-pocket expenses that were not anticipated. In fact, medical bills are the number one reason why individuals go bankrupt in the United States today. Once upon a time, the medical profession was all about helping people, but today it has become a heartless money-making operation that is dominated by health insurance corporations and pharmaceutical companies. If we do not make major changes quickly, our out of control health care system will destroy the middle class in our country all by itself.
I knew that health care costs were astronomical, but I had no idea that health care costs for an average family of four for one year had hit $28,166…
That is a crazy amount of money. Once upon a time, you could buy an entire house in America for $28,000. But now that will only cover health care costs for a single year…
And every year it gets worse. For 2018, it was being projected that the average rate increase for Obamacare plans would be 37 percent.
If our paychecks were going up 37 percent each year, that would be fine.
But of course that just isn’t happening.

Economy Expert: ‘Economic Ponzi Scheme Will Cause the Next Market Crash’
Dr. John Hussman, whose Ph.D. is in economics, says that the economic Ponzi scheme we are forced to live under will be the cause of the next market crash. Our “dysfunctional economic system provides the illusion of prosperity for some segments of the economy,” Hussman wrote.
Dr. Hussman asks us to examine two vastly different types of economies:
In one, consumers work for employers to produce products and services. The employees are paid wages and salaries, and business owners earn profits. They use much of that income to purchase the goods and services produced by the economy. They save the remainder. A certain portion of the output represents “investment” goods, which are not consumed, and the portion of income not used for consumption — what we call “saving” — is used to directly or indirectly purchase those investment goods.
There may be some goods that are produced and are not purchased, in which case they become unintended “inventory investment,” but in a general sense, this first economic system is a well-functioning illustration of what we call “circular flow” or “general equilibrium.” As is always the case in the end, income equals expenditure, savings equal investment, and output is absorbed either as consumption or investment.
The second economic systemis dysfunctional. Consumers work for employers to produce goods and services, but because of past labor market slack, weak bargaining power, and other factors, they are paid meaningfully less than they actually need to meet their consumption plans. The government also runs massive deficits, partly to supplement the income and medical needs of the public, partly to purchase goods and services from corporations, and partly to directly benefit corporations by cutting taxes on profits (despite being the only country in the OECD where corporations pay no value-added tax).
Meanwhile, lopsided corporate profits generate a great deal of saving for individuals at high incomes, who use these savings to finance government and household deficits through loans. This creation of new debt is required so the economy’s output can actually be absorbed. Businesses also use much of their profits to repurchase their own shares, and engage in what amounts, in aggregate, to a massive debt-for-equity swap with public shareholders: through a series of transactions, corporations issue debt to buy back their shares, and investors use the proceeds from selling those shares, directly or indirectly, but by necessity in equilibrium, to purchase the newly issued corporate debt. —Dr. John Hussman, Hussman Finds, via Seeking Aplha

A Glimpse Inside George Soros’s Open Society Foundations
If you wake up with a spearmint-fresh brain that hasn’t read a magazine, seen a newscast or exchanged what’s been happening, you could be excused for being charmed and seduced by the programs offered by the Open Society Foundations, a “rights” organization that bills itself as a grant-making association formed by billionaire George Soros in 1993.
Materials available at the entrance to his Open Society building lobby assert that Soros is one of the world’s biggest philanthropists, having given away, his materials say, over $32 billion. Recipients of his international meddling would have other nomenclatures for this.

Amazon Gives in to Muslim Empolyee Ramadan Demands
In this Monday, June 4, 2018 photo, Amazon workers Nimo Hirad and Decqa Mohamed are among those at a press conference of East African workers who demanded safer working conditions at Amazon warehouse in Eagan, Minn.
Amazon has given in to demands from Muslim employees who requested various perks and work changes during Ramadan, which also coincides with Amazon’s biggest sale of the year.
According to Bloomberg, the fact that Ramadan was at the same time as Amazon Prime Day this year was “creating tension” among employees in “Minnesota’s Twin Cities region, where activists say Amazon.com Inc. employs more than 1,000 East African Muslim immigrants at four warehouses.”
Employees and other activists protested at the Eagan, Minnesota, delivery center, where they chanted in Somali and handed Amazon management a list of demands for Ramadan, which reportedly included a “call to curb their heavy workloads while they’re fasting and to let them take time off without penalty for Eid, the festival that ends Ramadan.”

Dinesh D’Souza: Left Had Romney ‘Hiding Under His Desk’ With Tactics That Didn’t Work Against Trump
Filmmaker and conservative author Dinesh D’Souza explained the “gangsterization of American politics,” using his own conviction under Obama and his pardon under Trump in a speech to Road to Majority conference attendees in Washington, DC, on Saturday.
“What we’ve seen really is a gangsterization of American politics and this has happened under [President Barack] Obama,” D’Souza told the Faith and Freedom Coalition conference crowd in light of the prosecution against him for excessive campaign contributions.
He recalled his call from President Donald Trump informing him that he would receive a pardon for the crime he was convicted of and punished for under the Obama administration. He went on to speak of Obama’s training under Saul Alinsky involving deceptive and “ruthless tactics to go after people.”
He recalled the time when authorities were threatening to charge him not simply for exceeding the campaign contribution limit that he admitted to, but also mail fraud, bank fraud, filing false documents, and making false statements in relation to the contributions.
D’Souza said the tactic that has been used to combat attacks from the left has been to take the high road. In politics, this has meant candidates who look like “boy scouts” on paper, with “impeccable resumes.” He used 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney as an example.

Jeff Sessions Delivers: DOJ Nails Senate Intel Committee’s Security Chief as Deep State Leaker
Senior Justice Department officials announced late Thursday criminal charges against Senate Intelligence Committee’s long-time director of security James Wolfe.
The indictment charges Wolfe with making false statements to the FBI and details how Wolfe passed classified information, including presumably information related to one-time Trump campaign aide Carter Page, to a series of media outlets, confirming long-standing suspicions of the career intelligence community’s complicity in leaks. Over 1,200 Minnesota Parents Are Suing to Shut Down Child Protective Services
A group of parents in Minnesota called Stop CPS From Legally Kidnapping Children has filed a request in federal court to “shut down the state’s child protection services, stop serial abuse of families and overturn the unconstitutional laws by which the agency operates,” according to a press release published Tuesday.
The group, led by Dwight Mitchell, a father who says his son was illegally taken from him for 22 months, first filed a civil rights complaint in April, and this week they vocally publicized their call to shut down the child services agency, which they claim engages in systemic lying, withholding information, and fabricating evidence. They are asking the federal court to suspend the state’s agency from enforcing child protection laws, and according to a petition signed by almost 5,000 people, are also demanding changes to the laws themselves.
Back in April, Mitchell said: “Someone reported I spanked my child on his bottom. I was put in jail. My three children were taken away from me,” citing other states that have enacted laws to protect a parent’s “ordinary corporal punishment” rights. Though the practice of spanking is increasingly recognized as harmful to children’s well-being, it is highly questionable as to whether confiscating kids and placing them in foster homes is any better for their mental and emotional health.

Teachers Reportedly Fearful After MS-13 Infiltrates Maryland School

Teen Jailed in Grimes County After Allegedly Shooting Friend in Social Media Game
RICHARDS, Texas (KBTX) — The Grimes County Sheriff’s Office tells us a 16-year-old remains hospitalized after he was shot in the face by a friend in Richards.
Investigators tell us 17-year-old Raul Garcia Jr. was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after the two were traveling in a vehicle and had just obtained guns.
Investigators say they were playing a dangerous game from social media called, “You Lackin.” It occurs when one person points a firearm at another and asks that question. Then the other person pulls out their gun and responds, “No.”
Grimes County investigators say Garcia was driving when he pulled out the gun and hit a bump in the road causing it to fire and strike his friend in the face. Investigators say they then panicked and Garcia drove his injured friend to the hospital in Huntsville.
The 16-year-old remains hospitalized in stable condition.
Garcia remains in jail with bond pending.

US Man Gets 15 Years for Trying to Join Islamic State Group
A New York man who traveled to Turkey to join the Islamic State group said Monday he thought it would be the best way to help victimized Syrians and that he never wanted to be a fighter, as prosecutors contended.
Before being sentenced to 15 years in prison for attempting to provide material support to a terrorist organization, Arafat Nagi said his goal was to provide humanitarian aid.
But it was a claim U.S. District Judge Richard Arcara said he had a hard time believing after looking at Nagi’s graphic and violent social media posts and a photo showing him wearing camouflage and posing with an assault-style rifle, his face, except for his eyes, covered in black.

What Could Go Wrong? U.S. Army Planning to Deploy Autonomous Killer Robots on Battlefield by 2028
Washington, D.C. — United States Army Secretary Mark Esper recently revealed that the military has a strategic vision of utilizing autonomous and semi-autonomous unmanned vehicles on the battlefield by 2028.
“I think robotics has the potential of fundamentally changing the character of warfare. And I think whoever gets there first will have a unique advantage on the modern battlefield,” Esper said during a Brookings Institute event.
“My ambition is by 2028, to begin fielding autonomous and certainly semi-autonomous vehicles that can fight on the battlefield,” he added. “Fight, sustain us, provide those things we need and we’ll continue to evolve from there.”

After 15 years of corruption, taxation, regulation, and stagnation, the once mighty Ontario Liberal Party has been shattered at last.

Trump Trade Adviser: There’s a ‘Special Place in Hell’ For Trudeau After His ‘G7 Stunt’ [Video]
White House Director of Trade Policy Peter Navarro just let it rip on Prime Minister Trudeau for his underhanded dealings during and after the G7 meetings. Navarro appeared on “Fox News Sunday” and doubled down on what Trump adviser Larry Kudlow (SEE BELOW) had to say about Trudeau. Kudlow said that Trudeau “stabbed us in the back”. Kudlow was referring to how Trudeau was all mild mannered during his meetings with Trump but held a press conference after the president departed for Singapore and proceeded to bash the president.

“There’s a special place in hell for any foreign leader that engages in bad faith diplomacy with President Donald J. 24 Hours in Khan’s London: Broad Daylight Stabbings, Raids on Drug Dealing Network
There have been three stabbings in broad daylight and seven arrests in dawn raids on an organised drug-trafficking gang in one 24-hour period in Sadiq Khan’s London.
On Monday at 5:05pm, two men in their 20s were attacked and received “slash wounds”, which were not life threatening, on the busy High Street in the affluent West London borough of Kensington.

Armed Man Takes Several Hostages in Paris, Demands to Speak to Iranian Embassy
A man, who has claimed to be armed with both a firearm and a bomb, has taken several people hostage on the rue des Petites-Écuries in the 10th arrondissement of Paris demanding to speak with the Iranian embassy.
Police have arrived on the scene and the man is believed to be holding three people hostage including a pregnant woman and has told police that one of the hostages has been seriously injured. The entire neighbourhood has been put under lockdown by police, French radio broadcaster France Bleu reports.
Update 3:55 pm EST: All hostages have been released according to French Interior Minister Gerard Collomb who wrote on Twitter, “The individual has been arrested and the hostages are out of danger. I welcome the professionalism and responsiveness of the police and relief forces.”
The man has been identified as a 26-year-old born in Morocco with the motivation for the incident still being largely unknown according to investigators.

Austrian Chancellor Threatened Via Internet Over Shutting Mosques — Reports
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz receives threats on social networks over recent decision to close several mosques in the country, the Oesterreich newspaper reported, citing the Federal Chancellery.
According to the newspaper, Kurz started receiving death threats on Facebook. The Chancellery also confirmed that the relevant information was received by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution and Counterterrorism.

Man Arrested After Weapon Threats, Shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ In Belgian City Recently Rocked by Terror
A 32-year-old man was arrested Sunday in the Belgian city of Liege after he threatened to use a weapon on a restaurant manager while shouting “Allahu Akbar”.
The man, who has yet to be identified by police or prosecutors, is said to have visited the restaurant in the afternoon and had got into an argument with the manager on the terrace of the property. At around 4pm, the 32-year-old returned to the restaurant claiming to have a weapon and shouted “Allahu Akbar”, Belgian broadcaster RTL reports.

Memes ‘Will be Banned’ Under New EU Copyright Law
A new copyright law from the European Union would lead to the banning of memes on the internet, campaigners are warning.
The EU Copyright Directive intends to protect the intellectual property rights of people who upload their material to the internet.
However, campaigners are warning the law will require “all content uploaded to the internet to be monitored and potentially deleted if a likeness to existing copyright is protected” .
The campaign against a particular provision of the directive, Article 13, warns that online platforms would be economically damaged if they were forced to comply with its expensive obligations.

Norwegian Police Detain Man Suspected of Serial Assaults in Oslo
Police in Oslo have arrested a man suspected of following a number of women to their homes with the intent of sexually assaulting them.
The man, who is 37 years old, was arrested on Friday on suspicion of an attempted rape in the west of the Norwegian capital in February.

Two scientists discover that vaccines are contaminated, in the manufacturing process, with many small particles of metals that are toxic to humans when injected. Alarming.

In the shocking clip, recorded by a fellow commuter earlier this month, a woman tells the driver he is ‘little and pathetic’ after he accidentally closed the rear door as she was trying to get on the bus with her two children.

UK: Doctors Who Kill Patients Will Keep Jobs and ‘Learn From Mistakes’
Britain’s Nationa Health Service (NHS) will lower its standards by making it harder to sack doctors who kill their patients. This follows claims that sanctions are having a “chilling effect” on the profession — despite recent, high-profile failures being allowed to slide without punishment.
Secretary of State for Health Jeremy Hunt will remove the powers of the General Medical Council (GMC) to appeal against rulings of the Medical Practitioners’ Tribunal Service (MPTS), after a tribunal ruled Dr. Hadiza Bawa-Garba could continue to practice despite a conviction for the manslaughter of a six-year-old boy due to gross negligence. But the GMC successfully appealed for her to be struck off.
The mother of the dead boy welcomed Bawa-Garba’s conviction and removal from the medical register as “justice”, but doctors protested strongly. Hunt has accepted the findings of a doctor-led review which concluded that medics should only be punished if their performance was “truly exceptionally bad”, according to the Daily Mail.

SECURITY cameras have caught the horrifying moment a masked gunman shot a man as he cowered in fear on a quiet residential street.
The scene didn’t take place on the streets of some lawless city in South America or the Middle East but in the northern English suburb of Birkby, West Yorkshire.

Young people’s IQ scores have started to deteriorate after climbing steadily since Wold War Two, a new study has found.
The fall, which equates to about seven points per generation, is believed to have begun with those born in 1975, according to the first authoritative study of the phenomenon.
The drop in scores marks the end of a trend — known as the Flynn effect — which has seen average IQs rise for the past 60 to 70 years by roughly three points a decade.
Scientists have described the results as ‘impressive’ but ‘pretty worrying’, according to the Times.
The decline is do with a difference in technique in the way languages and maths are taught in schools, scientists have suggested.
However, it could also be down to people spending more time on technological devices instead of reading books.
Stuart Ritchie, a psychologist at the University of Edinburgh who did not take part in the research, told the newspaper: ‘This is the most convincing evidence yet of a reversal of the Flynn Effect.
‘If you assume their model is correct, the results are impressive, and pretty worrying.’

Russian Military Prepares for WW3 by Creating ‘Giant Cloud’
The Russian military is building a massive cloud which will serve as backup internet in the event of a war. The cloud will be ready in two years and will allow Russia to survive in wartime, even they are totally disconnected.
This new move is part of the country’s ongoing modernization drive, reported The Daily Mail. The intent is for Russia to survive during a major world war, one in which they’d be cut off from everyone else. The “war cloud” will connect to the Russian military’s vast internal network.
President Vladimir Putin’s top IT adviser Herman Klimenko has previously stated that during wartime the country could run on the military’s pre-existing internal network — called the Closed Transfer Segment. “Technically, we are ready for any action now,” he told Russian TV station NTV back in March.
It was first revealed the country was creating an “independent internet” at the end of last year, which would operate separately from the Domain Name System (DNS) used worldwide. During a meeting of the Russian Security Council, officials discussed an initiative to create an alternative to the DNS, claiming the move could protect Russia and a handful of other nations in the event of a large-scale cyber attack. However, there is some speculation that this “war cloud” could be a way for Russia to launch its own malicious operations, Defense One reported at the time.

China Hacked US Navy Contractor, Stole 614GB of Submarine Missile Secrets
The U.S. Navy and the FBI are investigating a massive cyber breach that compromised the network of an unidentified Navy contractor, as Chinese hackers allegedly stole large amounts of data related to undersea warfare, including top-secret programs to develop supersonic anti-ship missiles for submarines by 2020, according to American officials, The Washington Post reported.
The data breach occurred earlier this year as the investigation is still ongoing. The officials said that the contractor was working at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, a full-spectrum research, development, and testing arm of the Navy. The warfare center focuses on submarines, autonomous underwater systems, and offensive and defensive weapons systems associated with undersea warfare.
According to the WaPo, Chinese hackers stole a total of 614 gigabytes of plans for cutting-edge weapons relating to various undersea programs, as well as sensor data, submarine information about cryptographic systems, and an entire library of submarine electronic warfare data.
Since the cyber attack, this has been a nightmare for the Pentagon, as the Navy warned The Washington Post not to release further details about the secret submarine missile program, in their report. Meanwhile, Defense Secretary James Mattis ordered the Pentagon inspector general’s office Friday to investigate the massive data breach.

White South African Farmers Trained by Israeli Special Forces to Fight Off Violent Attacks
With rising violence, being a farmer in South Africa has become a dangerous job. Some are hiring former Israeli special forces experts to teach them self-defense.
There were 74 farm murders and 638 attacks primarily on white farmers in 2016-17, according to minority rights group AfriForum. “Current murder tendencies indicate that we will lose more people on farms than in the past three years,” AfriForum’s Ian Cameron recently wrote.

Analyst Says Trump Doing Better Job for Kids of Illegals
For weeks, the Trump administration has been blasted in establishment and social media for separating parents and children caught crossing into the U.S. illegally and for allegedly allowing 1,500 minors to go missing, some even allegedly allowed into the hands of gangs and human traffickers.
However, a leading immigration expert says parents are responsible for the separation, and the Trump administration is actually doing a much more responsible job of tracking children than previous administrations.
Center for Immigration Studies Director of Policy Studies Jessica Vaughan said adult-child separation is standard operating procedure at the border in several circumstances. In some cases, the adults are not the parents. Some children are being smuggled and other parents send their children with other adults to establish a “deportation shield” for them in America.
While all of the above scenarios are on the rise, Vaughan said Trump administration policy is responsible for many of the cases, but only because the administration is enforcing the law.

EU MIGRANT policy suffered another body blow today after senior FRENCH politicians applauded Italy’s shock move to refuse to let a migrant ship carrying 629 refugees dock in Italian ports.
French conservative lawmaker Eric Ciotti said no French port should take in the Aquarius, the humanitarian ship stranded in international waters in the Mediterranean since Saturday.

Interior minister Horst Seehofer has repeatedly clashed with Angela Merkel over his plans to turn away asylum seekers at the German border.

In contrast to what was told, migrants are far from economically beneficial for society. Research by mathematician Jan van Beek shows that admitting non-western asylum seekers into the country, results in high net costs for Dutch society, WNL reports.
In his research Van Beek tries to make a distinction between asylum seekers and migrants that come to work or study in the Netherlands. He sees a high dependence on benefits in the asylum seeking group.

CBC Indoctrinates Young Kids: ‘Are You Gay Allies?’
In a new video by CBC Life, a subsidiary of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, children are persuaded into becoming gay “allies” for pride month by Canadian television host Jessi Cruickshank.
The video opens up with Cruickshank and several young and impressionable children all at a table where they’re prompted by questions regarding same-sex marriage and sexual diversity. The room is filled with rainbow balloons, gay pride flags, and children who appear to all be younger than 10.
“Happy pride everybody!” she begins. She then prompts the children to define what gay pride is and whether or not they consider themselves “gay allies.”

Girl, 5, Says Grace at Meal, All Hell Breaks Loose
Make a joke about skin color and you’re a racist. About gender orientation and you’re a “homophobe.” About Islam and you’re an “Islamophobe.”
But Christians are a fair target, apparently.
It happened at a Scottish state school where the parents of a 5-year-old report their daughter was bullied for saying grace before a meal.
Their names aren’t being reported to protect the girl, but the family lives in the Highlands.
The parents said their daughter was “happy” growing up but, but grew depressed and dreaded school after being mocked, over and over, for expressing her Christian beliefs.
Kate Forbes, a member of parliament, raised the issue recently, explaining her concern that schools are failing to address religious intolerance.
The Christian Institute noted the girl said “other children had been making fun of her praying to God.”
“We are still not 100 percent sure our daughter is over this,” the parents said.
“A 5-year-old saying grace before lunch is not hurting anyone and she should be free to do that,” said Forbes. “I do think it is becoming more difficult for people with faith and that means that the schools and authorities have to do more to make sure schools are an inclusive environment.”
Free Church of Scotland minister Rev. Alasdair Macleod pointed out a “growing problem” of intolerance toward Christian students.
“It feels to me that schools are becoming an increasingly hostile environment for Christian pupils, and this hostility must stop,” he said. “Bullying, mocking or intimidation towards pupils on the basis of their Christian faith is unacceptable and needs to be recognized as such.”

which just dampens internet activity. So I guess if they do impose copyright people will turn more to vpn, maybe setup offshore servers etc…. what happens if EU tries to enforce its law internationally, will say US agree, or would EU try to firewall ?
Already the cookie declaration policy is well annoying, you get a third to full page ad. on all sites asking to accept cookies, even US sites accessed from EU but not when from US… what made them comply to EU rules. For someone who likes to keep their cache and history empty it means having to work through the cookie agreement ( find and click it) on nearly every single page. VPN browsing from say the US avoids that.
I think this new policy is not what it states, it is a creeping control, where to implement the law means units have to be enabled and set up which have the power to investigate and trace individuals online through to their address.
A thought – Nazis are considered nationalist, and so EU escapes the label. If you think about it though, there is nothing to say EU is not a nationalist movement, where the aim is to create one European nation. Those on the left who proclaim open borders and all inclusion, they might also be Nazi ideology (or of many other) , as their direction would imply creating one global state, and not no state… unless they don’t want state either but I don’t think they would have much choice really, given people are not going to stop creating hierarchical authority for ” quite a while” . I use the words Nazi ideology in terms of method and administration , obviously the Nazis of last century had their own different version of what “nation” meant.

As far as I know, JD’s taste in reading material hasn’t changed in all the years since he first started sending me excerpts. Without him, this site would be paranoia-deficient in its news reporting.
However, I must admit that I exclude the most extreme and/or unsubstantiated conspiracy-related items, when I notice them.
Sadly, I agree with Joe Jew. Paranoia is increasing everywhere; JD would benefit from reading more widely. Meanwhile, folks like JJ could help out by submitting their own news. When I’m feeling well enough, that’s what I do.
