The Soros Plan

The following article from the Austrian MSM has caused a stir inside Austria. It includes a letter about George Soros’ plan for the migration, which was sent by the Hungarian foreign minister to Alexander van der Bellen, the president of Austria.

It’s important to note that the political winds in Austria have shifted dramatically in the last two years. Mr. van der Bellen represents the old pro-multicult order, whereas the current ÖVP/FPÖ government represents the new mood — nationalist and anti-migration. The decision to send the letter to the president, rather than to Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, may be significant in this regard.

JLH, who translated the article, includes these notes:

Fallout in Austria. The “document” in question was probably intended for a wider audience than just van der Bellen. Die Presse unwittingly provided the megaphone.

The “facsimile” included in the middle of the article was difficult to capture — refused to be copied with the rest of the article. Following the contact back to the original article, I found that the “document” had disappeared, and did not appear again in subsequent articles, which did, however, attack its contents.

The style of tortured argument that is supposed to discredit the Hungarian comments is familiar to any American who has sampled the mass media here.

The translated article from Die Presse:

So That’s Supposed to be the “Soros Plan”

Hungary’s foreign minister has sent Federal President Alexander van Der Bellen[1] the so-called “Soros Plan” — a collection of six quotations on standard typing paper. Die Presse has access to the letter.

“The most important points of the Soros Plan — with sources” — The government of Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orbán, remains on the offensive against US billionaire George Soros, and is attempting with this letter to convince the Austrian president that there actually is a so-called “Soros Plan”. So a document arrived in the offices of Alexander van der Bellen, and Die Presse has access. The Hungarian Foreign Minister quotes from articles which the billionaire has written himself as a guest commentator, or in which his comments are given.

Hungary sent the Austrian president this letter because van der Bellen recently maintained that the US billionaire has nothing to do with a wave of immigration to Europe. The letter from Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó emphasizes that the “Soros Plan” had made its way into political debate in Austria in the past weeks — notably in an interview with Die Presse given by FPÖ parliamentary leader Johann Gudenus. Therefore, the Hungarian Prime Minister wanted to send van der Bellen the “Soros Plan.”

At this point in the article, the “facsimile” of the document originally appeared:

The most important point of the Soros Plan — with sources

  • Settlement in Europe of 1 million immigrants annually

Following the billionaire’s suggestion, “Europe shall accept at least 1 million asylum seekers annually for the foreseeable future” (Project Syndicate, September 26, 2015)

  • Ongoing, compulsory, uncapped action for the distribution of immigrants.

On the distribution of immigrants, George Soros has written: “If this does not become an ongoing, compulsory element of the common European refugee system, it will collapse.” (Financial Times, July, 26, 2015)

  • Removal of Barricades from Borders

The billionaire has said in this connection: “The goal of our plan is protection of the immigrants, and national borders are an obstacle to that.” (Bloomberg Business, October 30, 2015)

  • NGOs ought to step up as sponsors of the immigration

According to Soros: “In order to take in more than 1 million immigrants and asylum seekers annually, the EU should mobilize the private sector — NGOs, church groups and private enterprise — so they will step up as sponsors.” (Project Syndicate, September 26, 2015)

  • Financial Support for the Immigrants

According the billionaire’s plan: “The EU should make 15,000 euros per asylum seeker available for living quarters, medical care and education, to make the acceptance of immigrants and asylum seekers more attractive to the member states.” (Project Syndicate, September 26, 2015)

  • …parallel with the reduction of present financial resources

On June 30th of last year in Brussels, Soros suggested — for purposes of solving the immigration crisis — reducing the common agricultural expenditures and expenditures for European Cohesion (Brussels, June 30, 2016)

Soros Plans Being Sold as EU Plans

In Hungary, Soros’ opinions are being presented in crude propaganda campaigns as the actual EU immigration policies. Three quotations from the missive in question are from the same guest commentary of September, 2015, when Soros described how, in his opinion, the EU should deal with the flow of refugees — how he would solve the crisis. The crisis had reached its apogee at that time. In an essay for “Project Syndicate” titled “Rebuilding the Asylum System,” Soros wrote should that the EU should count on distributing an additional million asylum seekers yearly to member states for the foreseeable future. The EU has never stated that it wished to set such a goal.

With the intensification in the past parliamentary campaign, Orbán enjoyed a great success and is able to expand his power. Anyone who wants no more immigrants votes for the ruling party, Fidesz. Voting otherwise on April 8th meant wanting immigrants. The anti-Soros campaign with the US billionaire as bogeyman was so successful that 80% of government supporters believed there was a Soros party in the campaign.

Hungary argues that Soros uses the word “plan” referring to himself. But the US citizen has consistently spoken of a plan in the refugee crisis, as in his essay “Here’s my plan to solve the asylum chaos,” which has the same points as the letter mentioned above.

In the letter to van der Bellen, the Hungarian foreign ministry claims that Soros’ plan shows that he wants to do away with national borders and demand significant sums from the EU for settling immigrants and draw the necessary funds form member states. The quotations attributed to these arguments are from statements from 2015 and 2016 with direct influence on the refugee crisis.

Note:

1.   Van der Bellen defeated, with massive establishment help, a populist candidate for the post.

    • By being very intelligent and having a real talent for financial ruthlessness. He also has delusions of being god-like (a problem for an atheist, but then many of us suffer from cognitive dissonance) and dreads dying.

IOW, I wouldn’t be him for all the money in the world.

Read the page links I left in this comment thread…they’ve been collected over the years.

  1. What jumps out at me is not the bias of the MSM story, but the sheer incompetence of what passes for mainstream journalism. They bother with absolutely no independent investigation of Soros actual writing or information for the reader of the truth of the assertions: that is, do the specific points quoted about Soros have a basis in reality?

The MSM reporters are not only biased, but ill-informed, lazy and stupid. Since news has become a form of entertainment, it’s like a lottery which news performers become popular and receive huge salaries.

We’re long since passed the satire of the “Broadcast News” movie. Newscaster William Hurt is portrayed as a shallow newsman, but very successful due to his entertainment ability. Compared to today’s journalist, he come across as a paragon of virtue and integrity.

  2. What makes Soros all the more dangerous is that he has, in fact, a lot of influence on politicians with power, especially in the (increasingly totalitarian) EU bureaucracy and the “Democratic” Party in the US, as well as on the Churches, and that many of his NGO offices are deliberately located near official buildings, making common people think they are part of the “official” establishment.

How does he influence them? Is it just bribing with money (which is already loathsome enough), or is something even it worse? I suspect the latter. He is, in fact, one of the (many) impersonations of the Anti-Christ which the Bible warns us against.
