“Unusual Eruptions” At World’s Largest Active Geyser in Yellowstone Stoke “Supervolcano” Fears
One month after we reported that fears of an eruption at the Yellowstone supervolcano continue to grow following the first eruption of the world’s largest active geyser for the first time since 2014, overnight Reuters reported of continued “unusual eruptions” at the same location after said giant geyser erupted no less three times in the past six weeks, including once this week.
The good news, according to geologists, is that while the pattern is “unusual” it is not indicative of a more destructive volcanic eruption brewing beneath Wyoming.
The bad news, is that with geological events in Yellowstone increasingly described by even the most “reputable” mainstream media and scholars as “unusual”, the broader public is having trouble believing that everything is just normal.

As the Bozeman Daily Chronicle adds, the Steamboat Geyser eruption on Friday was reported by a park visitor and was estimated to have begun at 6:30 am; that person was likely the only one who witnessed it firsthand, since boardwalks leading to area are closed due to high snowfall notes Gizmodo.
Why is this unusual? Because the last time it erupted three times in a year was in 2003, the U.S. Geological Survey’s Yellowstone Volcano Observatory said. Also notable: the last time it erupted prior to March was more than three years ago in September 2014.

In the short run, all mood-altering substances make it easy for people to happily ignore their problems. But in the longer run folks become less able to deal with life’s problems because they “blow them off”. Folks often fall behind in life, buried under more stress and anxiety. They are far more likely to end up divorced, unemployed, disabled, in poverty, in prison, in a fatal car wreck, or a suicide.

Student Gov Threatens to Give Campus Reform Funds to Black Student Union
A University of California, Berkeley Student Senator proposed that all student government funding for the Berkeley College Republicans be reallocated to the Black Student Union.
According to The Daily Californian, Senator Rizza Estacio made an amendment to the proposed budget allocations to student organizations and university groups which would eliminate the $1,000 funding for the BCR and add it to the budget for the BSU.
Estacio said that her reasoning for the reallocation is because the BCRs “have violated a lot of, like, lead center rules during like free speech week,” adding that because of this, the organization does not deserve funding from the ASUC.
The proposal was met with murmurs of agreement from across the room, but some senators were concerned with the possible legal obstacles to the amendment.

Ten Years in Prison for Man Who Conspired to Help ISIS
NEWARK — From Bergen County to Jordan to jail — a New Jersey man accused of traveling to the Middle East to help the Islamic State will spend 10 years in a U.S. federal prison.

Italy’s 5-Star Calls for Snap Election After Govt Talks Flounder
ROME (Reuters) — The leader of Italy’s anti-establishment 5-Star Movement called on Monday for early elections in June, saying efforts to form a coalition government after last month’s inconclusive vote had failed.

Swedish Preschools Are Now So Dangerous That Some Children Have to be Locked In
There’s an epidemic of violence in Sweden’s preschools, Göteborgs Posten (GP) reports. Staff of some preschools have to lock children in, to prevent children from harming other children.
Children at preschools in Gothenburg are subjected to violence, kicks and punches and some come home with black eyes and scratches.
Parents have repeatedly reported these incidents to the police and the School Inspectorate. This is how everyday life is lived in a so called vulnerable area in Western Gothenburg, GP reports.
“My son comes home with bruises, scratches and death threats every day. He has been struck by all sorts of things, ranging from toys to wooden pieces and sticks in his eyes,” says a parent
Another parent says “children hit each other, even with chairs. There is a lot of violence and very gross language. I have seen children being kicked in the back of the head.”
But it is not only the children who are subjected to violence and threats from other children, even the staff are affected. Parents testify to what they saw when they come to kindergarten to bring or retrieve their children.
No normal preschool activities can be carried out at preschool, all the time and effort is required to prevent and stop the violence and the threats.

The EU is Threatening Hungary and Poland With Punitive Measures
According to the Financial Times, Brussels is preparing to withhold EU funds from countries that do not adhere to the principles of liberal democracy — Hungary, and Poland may be targeted.

President Donald Trump has blasted the European Union as an organisation “formed to take advantage of the United States”, and warned the U.S. is “not doing business” with the bloc if it does not change its ways.
“Long-term you’re going to be so happy,” he told supporters at major rally in Washington, Michigan, promising to put an end to unfair trade arrangements which see EU exporters facing low or no tariffs while selling into the U.S., while the EU maintains far higher barriers against U.S. exporters.
“We’re going to [these markets] opened up or we’re not doing business with these countries,” he vowed.
He said that the European Union “sounds so nice” in theory, but imposes “tremendous blocks” on U.S. businesses, and was in fact “formed to take advantage of the United States”.

A European Commission poll has found that a strong majority of people in France, Germany, and Sweden believe the integration of migrants has failed in their country.
People in all 28 member states were asked: “Generally speaking, how successful or not is the integration of most immigrants living in [your country].”
Overall, across the open borders bloc, 55 per cent of people said integration it is going badly and 39 per cent said it had been a success, according to the survey commissioned by the European Union’s (EU) unelected executive branch.
In Sweden, the picture was bleak, with just 24 per cent of respondents saying they thought integration was going well, and a shocking 73 per cent saying it has gone badly.

“Kurdophobia” is alive and well in Turkey, Iran, and Iraq. But the Kurds will never give up. Even when Saddam Hussein gassed 60,000 of them – men, women and children – with his imaginary WMD, they still remained alive in sufficient numbers to hold out for a Kurdistan. Yes, the internecine warfare will be intense should they ever realize their dream.
One of the stupidest thing done when the Middle East was being divided up was to refuse to allow a place for Kurds.
Yes, not giving Kurds their state maybe a mistake. However separating various types of Kurds in Iran will be troublesome.
