James Comey Gets Pilloried From Left, Right, And Center
It’s obvious he deserved to be fired. All there is to quibble about is the precise reason why.

For months, the media and President Trump’s loudest opponents convinced themselves that James Comey’s much-anticipated book was the ticking bomb that would blow up the Trump administration. Instead: No boom.
Comey hoped to guide the spotlight to his self-image as ultimate G-Man — a stalwart, sober, nonpartisan public servant whose courage and rectitude guided him through a moral, legal, and political thicket. Instead, the book reveals Comey to be a hack. A blunderer. A blowhard. He took a mighty swing at Trump and managed to punch himself in the eye.
Not only does the book offer zilch in the way of damaging new evidence against the president in the Russia matter or anything else, but its most revealing and most noticed passage pulverizes Comey’s own reputation. The former FBI director is being pilloried from left, right, and center. Perhaps even worse for him, he is being mocked as a pompous ass from left, right, and center. This is quite an achievement when you consider that it isn’t a Fire and Fury—style exposé but Comey’s own memoir that is making a fool of him.
“Donald Trump is contagious: He turned James Comey into Donald Trump” runs the headline of Karen Tumulty’s column in the Washington Post. Tumulty highlights Comey’s “pettiness, insecurity and need for affirmation,” plus an “ego” that “stays in high gear.” Fellow WaPo columnist Alexandra Petri relentlessly spoofs Comey’s gassy references to Reinhold Niebuhr and his sanctimonious self-regard: “In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God, and then, on Dec. 14, 1960, I, James Comey, was born. The initials, as Reinhold Niebuhr would tell us, are no coincidence.” The paper’s nonfiction-book critic, Carlos Lozada, compares Comey’s lack of self-awareness to Trump’s, questions Comey’s ethics, and says his “self-criticism — and self-regard — is almost comical,” scorning Comey both for lying about playing basketball for William & Mary and for ostentatiously flogging himself for the fib later. Starbucks is Shutting Down 8,000 Stores for the Day to Prove They’re Not Racist
Starbucks is shutting down all 8,000 stores for one day to offer racial bias education training to employees, the company announced Tuesday afternoon.
The 8,000 company-owned stores will close down May 29 to educate employees on how not to discriminate against people in their stores. During that afternoon, about 175,000 employees will participate in learning about implicit bias, knowing how to consciously include people and how to stop discrimination.

Unlicensed Cab Driver Facing Sexual Assault Charge
A 39 year old man is facing charges after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in St. Catharines.
Police say an unlicensed cab picked up a woman in the St. Paul and Ontario Street area just before 1:00 yesterday morning.
The driver is accused of taking the woman to a parking lot in the area of Bunting Road and Welland Avenue where she was sexually assaulted.
Mahmoud Al Arag of St. Catharines is being held in custody pending a bail hearing today.

Germany: Crackdown on Middle Eastern Crime Families

UK: Hope Not Hate Publishes Location of Right-Wing Conference, Antifa Activist Arrested for Violence
A far-left Antifa member was arrested by Kent police following an attack on attendees of a Generation Identity conference which saw two overseas speakers, including Martin Sellner, detained and refused entry to the UK by border forces ahead of the event.
The Identitarian conference, which was labelled “European Reunion,” was held in Sevenoaks, Kent on Saturday with the exact location of the event kept private until far-left activist organisation HOPE not Hate published the exact location on Twitter. Employee of Bombed Research Site in Syria Says No Chemicals Released is Proof None Exist
An employee of the chemical research center which was bombed by the United States, the United Kingdom, and France says that no chemicals were released during the strike that leveled the building. That’s incredibly important proof that no chemical weapons we actually there, he said.
Said Said, an engineer at the Scientific Research Center facility, told RT Arabic that the very fact that no chemicals were released during the strike should serve as evidence that no chemical weapons program was run at the site. “You can see for yourself that nothing has happened. I’ve been here since 5:00 a.m. No signs of weapons-grade chemicals,” he said. The researcher said he had worked at the facility for decades, and it used to develop medicine and household chemicals.
The West is alleging Bashar al-Assad, Syria’s leader used chemical weapons on civilians to justify military attacks on Damascus and Homs. But interestingly enough, those strikes occurred the day before international investigators were scheduled to arrive to conduct a thorough inspection of the site.

Kuwait: 4,390 Books Banned in Five Years
The information ministry has banned 4,390 books over the past five years, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Mohammad Al-Jabri has confirmed. Responding to an inquiry by MP Khaled Al-Shatti, Jabri said that the ministry’s grievances committee — formed according to ministerial resolution number 13/2017 — had looked into complaints against two books and agreed to reconsider banning them. He added that the banned list was 70 pages long, including religious, cultural and historical books.
Notably, Shatti had inquired about the long list of banned books, noting that he had 16 cartons full of the banned books’ titles. He said after reviewing some of the banned books, he emerged with a feeling that “we are living a real freedom of thought dilemma”, warning that censorship is killing ideas and creativity. “It is as if we are living in the medieval ages,” he added, noting that some of the justifications for bans were feeble.

Founder of One of the Largest Children’s Charities in the World Arrested for Pedophilia
Last week, Peter John Dalglish, United Nations adviser and founder of the Street Kids International charity, was arrested on suspicion of pedophilia, at a home that he was staying at in Nepal. During the arrest, two young children, ages 12 and 14, were “rescued” from the home.
It is important to note that there have been conflicting reports about the children that he was found with, with some sources saying that two boys were found in his home, and other sources suggesting that it was two girls.
The most up-to-date information seems to be on the Wikipedia page for Dalglish, which suggests that there were two girls found in his home and that the allegations involving the two boys are part of a separate investigation. If this is the case, Dalglish will be facing additional charges.
Dalglish, 60, is a citizen of Canada who travels the world working with children. Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police (CIB) told Global News that Dalglish “is being investigated for child sexual exploitation abuse.”

EU Parliament Member Calls for Banning Political Parties That Criticize Immigration
Complains that Muslims are being mistreated in Sweden
EU Parliament member Soraya Post has called for political parties that criticize mass immigration to be banned in Sweden.
Post, who is a part of the Feminist Initiative party in Sweden, complains that “the arrival of a very large number of migrants during the migrant crisis” has led to an increase in racism and that not enough is being done “to prevent racist and xenophobic attacks” against Muslims and other minorities.
“Sweden must ban organizations that spread hatred and advocate fascism, nazism and racism,” writes Post, before making it clear that she is referring to the Sweden Democrats, which is the country’s largest anti-mass immigration party and has a chance of winning the next election.
The Party, led by Jimmie Åkesson, is polling number one amongst people aged 18-34 and causing deep consternation for both the establishment in Sweden and the European Union.
“Just because there is now a more right-wing extremist party than the Swedish Democrats in Sweden, it does not mean that the Swedish Democrats are not racist and xenophobic,” writes Post. “The Swedish Democrats still have a continuous female-fidelity, homophobic, nationalist, racist and xenophobic policy, this has not been changed. Their policies are still not inclusive, it still excludes minorities. Normalizing the Swedish Democrats and their racist and sexist policies is unacceptable and a major threat to our democracy and human rights.”
She appears to be advocating for some kind of new kind of EU power to punish countries that “violate human rights” by failing to take hate crime seriously.
Post then brazenly calls for political parties she claims are “racist” to be banned altogether.

Feds Strip US Citizenship From Somali Diversity Visa Winner Who Obtained Green Cards for Fake Family
A federal judge has revoked the U.S. citizenship of a naturalized Somali immigrant who fraudulently sponsored four of her countrymen for green cards, the Department of Justice announced Tuesday.
Judge Susan Richard Nelson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota entered an order to cancel the naturalization certificate of Fosia Abdi Adan, 51, who immigrated to the U.S. in 2001 through the diversity visa lottery program.

The Polish translation of your book is entitled “Strange Death of Europe”. The original title, however, is about its “suicide”? Death happens naturally, but suicide is something we inflict on ourselves?
Yes, I think it is something that we have brought upon ourselves or at least we have allowed to have it brought on ourselves. The whole thing is being a big mistake because of the weakness and inability of people in charge to do basic things which are needed to sustain a recognizable future for their people. There are no circumstances which would allow us to say that it is simply negligence. Quite contrary, this complete change in the Western Europe is rather a form of a suicide, because it was done by our own hand or be it with the help of a lot of our people. Thus it is more akin to self harm or suicide.
There are lots of books on the so called Islamization, migration, radical Islam. What makes your book different from them?
First, I think it is the most up to date and most comprehensive work on these and related subjects to date. Furthermore, my aim has been not to just explain what has happened since the Second World War and to explain the facts, but to try to explain why it is happening to us. A lot of good work has been done to look at particular aspects of it, but not to peek into the whole totality of it. I think that it has to be done in order to understand it. People are confused about reasons of these massive changes on our continent.
In my opinion it is not about a threat but about weakness, the inability of Europe to defend itself.
Exactly. This is a two-part story. The first part is something that is happening to us. The second is: why we would allow it to happen to us? And this second one is much less discussed. Since my book went public, those who wished to criticize it, they only commented on the first thing, saying you shouldn’t talk about things that are happening to us. But almost nobody refuted my explanation of why we allowed it to happened to us. I think it’s because people recognized it.

Libya Rescues Over 200 Immigrants Off Western Coast
TRIPOLI, April 18 (Xinhua) — Libyan coast guard on Tuesday rescued more than 200 illegal immigrants on two rubber boats off western coast, according to a local official.

Refugee Policy General Named Next Australian Defense Chief
An Australian army general who led a secretive military operation to stop asylum seekers from coming to Australia by boat was named on Monday as the country’s next defense force chief.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said Lt. Gen. Angus Campbell will replace Air Chief Marshall Mark Binskin as chief of the Australian Defense Force in July. Binskin will retire after four years in the top job.

Swedish Students Reported to Security Services for Spreading Facts About Immigration
A group of students from a school in Umeå, have been reported to the police and the Swedish Security Service (SÄPO), for distributing a fact sheet about immigration, Fria Tider reports.

How bad is government science?
Aside from the main article’s views on authenticity of published essays, there are ethical stuff that has been in my mind since I read SOCIETAL IMPLICATIONS OF NANOSCIENCE AND NANOTECHNOLOGY, a leaflet of NSF (march 2001) meant for federal policy makers (USA). Let’s take a look:
“Because we are concerned with issues of practical and professional ethics, not theoretical ethics, we must examine nano initiatives along with associated social practices, institutions, organizations, and the choices and actions of individuals within them.” (location: 193)
To my understanding it says: public opinion on ethics is invalid and professionals must somehow stay inside circle of ethics.
But how professional should stay inside the circle of ethics? The answer is given in page 197 by proposing three “activity fronts”, which I summarise as:
1. To Hire specialists in ethics and behavioral sciences to constantly monitor scientists.
2. To devise opportunities for genuine conversation with members of public about current and proposed initiatives.
3. To train the aforementioned specialists in ethics and behavioral sciences.
At first glance it seems Activity #2 is meant to deliver some rights to masses to oppose such initiatives. But I could not find any phrases that supports my first impression. The rights belongs to government and the circle of ethics is already limited to “professional ethics” and it will be determined by those who are trained by government. Masses will be only informed to buy the products meant for public. By observing the current trends in US of A, you don’t have to be a genius to understand what sort of commies will be hired to monitor technological progress. Such flagrant proposals is the real thing that scares me.
