New Weekly Unemployment Claims Remain Below 300,000, Longest Streak Since 1967

Unemployment claims fell last week to just 233,000, far below the historical average, cementing into place the longest streak below 300,000 jobless claims since 1967. A proxy for layoffs, those claims reflect not only an increasing reluctance on the part of employers to let their workers go, but an increasing need for them to bring more workers on in the face of an economic tsunami that’s just now starting to roll into the American economy.

“Firewalls” And “Taint Teams” Do Not Protect Fourth and Sixth Amendment Rights

by Alan M. Dershowitz

The Fourth and Sixth Amendments prohibit government officials from in any way intruding on the privacy of lawyer/client confidential rights of citizens.

The very fact that this material is seen or read by a government official constitutes a core violation. It would be the same if the government surreptitiously recorded a confession of a penitent to a priest, or a description of symptoms by a patient to a doctor, or a discussion of their sex life between a husband and wife.

The recourses for intrusions on the Fourth and Sixth Amendments are multifold: the victim of the intrusion can sue for damages; he or she can exclude it from use by the government in criminal or civil cases; or the victim can demand the material back. But none of these remedies undo the harm to privacy and confidentiality done to the citizen by the government’s intrusion into his private and confidential affairs.

Poll: Robert Mueller Loses Majority Support After FBI Raids Trump’s Lawyer

Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s raid on President Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen has backfired in the eyes of voters, according to Rasmussen Reports.

Prior to what many are describing as Mueller’s unprecedented stunt, the special counsel and former Obama official was held in high regard by a majority of the public. Back in October, a full 52 percent believed “Mueller’s investigation is an honest attempt to determine criminal wrongdoing.”

That number is now down —6 points to just 46 percent.

Moreover, the number of voters who now see Mueller’s probe is a “partisan witch hunt” has jumped a full +8 points, from 32 percent to 40 percent.

Italy’s Center-Right Stages Show of Unity, Attacks Five Star

Center-right leaders staged a show of unity in a second round of talks with Italy’s president, claiming the right for Matteo Salvini’s euroskeptic League to indicate a premier as a deadlock in the search for a new government persisted.

Ex-premier Silvio Berlusconi, Salvini’s junior partner in the center-right alliance, introduced him as “our leader” to reporters after Sergio Mattarella, the head of state, received them with Giorgia Meloni of the far-right Brothers of Italy. The three leaders had met Mattarella separately in a first round of talks last week.

Salvini said the center-right was ready to “form a strong and lasting government with a premier indicated by the League.” He said its priorities were tax cuts, jobs for young people, pension reform, fighting poverty and “firm opposition to clandestine immigration.” The center-right led the anti-establishment Five Star Movement in March 4 elections, but both fell short of a majority.

  1. USA was fortunate that Yasmin had wrong visa. Whole purpose in life is to undermine western civilisation.

  2. Obviously Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his whole country is Antisemitic for supporting such nefarious fascist dictatorships like Hungary, where they let people vote and not for the liberal-Bolsheviks, where people can live in harmony and where Christians and Jews are not loved to death by the religion of pieces . 😉

  4. A girl from France raped by a migrant from Tajikistan in the Moscow region.

The investigation finally ended and the perpetrator will be rewarded with full. The case of the corruption of the underage girl from France in the Moscow region can be considered closed.

As it became known “Region online”, the Investigative Committee found the culprit of the crime. He was a 30-year-old migrant from Tajikistan, who came to Moscow to work. It is known that he, on the pretext that he wants to show the girl a pet, lured her to the farm, where he abused her.

    – The incident occurred as early as August 2016 in the suburbs, but it was possible to uncover the crime only now, “the Region online” was told in the press service of the Investigative Committee.
