A Very Personal Opposition to Gun Control

As it happens I know two people — civilians — who have used guns to defend themselves against criminals; one was told, explicitly, by the police that it was only their having a handgun that prevented their assault and rape. So defensive gun uses are not fantasy. And this is certainly a practical argument on which to rest a case: after all, while there are the visible misuses, often missing from the debate is what is not seen, i.e., the defensive uses specifically, and deterrent effect generally.

It was, interestingly, one of my “Red Pill” experiencesthat shifted my perspective on guns; related to guns and self-defense, I wrote about it in my essay, The Leftist Sense of Self:…

America Doesn’t Have a Gun Control Problem. We Have a White-People Problem

In America, white people are everywhere, and this ubiquity connects to perhaps our greatest irony: We (black people) are vastly outnumbered by them. They also own more land, earn and possess more money, and have all the guns. Most of the people making laws are white, as are most of the people enforcing them.

There are entire states you can drive through without seeing one of us, entire lives that can be led without ever having any meaningful interaction with us. We are surrounded, outnumbered, out-resourced and outgunned. Our entire existence here is a continual assault on our bodies.

Antifa is Violently Threatening Norwegian Heavy Metal Bands Now

Over the past two weeks, noted radical leftist organization Antifa decided (rather arbitrarily) to impose its own interpretation and enforcement on what should and should not be consumed by American music fans. Norwegian black metal band, Taake, was set to perform a number of shows on its upcoming North American tour but ran into trouble as Antifa members reportedly threatened venues where Taake was performing. Antifa members also appear to have threatened concertgoers and individuals involved in the production of Taake’s shows.

Utilizing Twitter and Facebook (apparently NOT violating either’s terms of service), Antifa communicated its marching orders and public threats.

Arrest in Deadly Package Bomb Explosion

iStock/Thinkstock (NEW YORK) — The FBI and NYPD arrested a man in Brooklyn Wednesday in connection with a deadly package explosion in Queens last summer.

Victor Kingsley is charged with using a weapon of mass destruction in an attempt to kill a police officer who arrested him in 2014.

Instead the blast severely burned Gary Wray, the 73-year-old landlord of a Queens building who opened the canister-shaped package that had been left on the doorstep several days earlier. Wray died after several days in the hospital.

Kingsley allegedly built the explosive device as part of a broader effort to retaliate violently against several police officers who were part of an NYPD unit that had arrested him in January 2014.

Despite the eventual dismissal of that case, Kingsley methodically sought revenge against the officers, federal prosecutors said. He conducted internet searches and made telephone calls attempting to determine the locations of the officers’ residences, officials said. He also accumulated explosive device components via online purchases, which he had delivered to his house in Brooklyn, according to the criminal complaint.

Ultimately, Kingsley allegedly arranged for the explosive device to be placed outside of a residence in Springfield Gardens where mistakenly believed one of his target officers resided, prosecutors said. The building owner inadvertently detonated the device when he tried to open it, and died as a result of his injuries.

If convicted, Kingsley could face a maximum sentence of life in prison. He was taken to the hospital for a psych exam and is due in court Thursday.

Chase Suspect Dies in Fiery Crash That Ended in Halls Bayou

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A police chase ended in a fiery crash that killed a driver after his car ended up in a north Houston bayou Tuesday night, police say.

Officials tell us the man was speeding when officers tried to pull him over on Parker Road around 11:30 p.m.

The driver allegedly refused to stop, leading police on a chase where he ran other vehicles off the road.

Authorities say he lost control and hit a side rail, causing the car to burst into flames.

The vehicle then went airborne into Halls Bayou…

CNN Thinks That Socialism is Cool. My Grandparents From the USSR Would Disagree.

Alex Berezow,

It is frustrating to me that many Americans are ignorant of the crimes of socialist and communist movements.

The biggest misunderstanding is the notion that socialism (which is good) and communism (which is bad) are not the same thing. That might be true in theory, but it never quite works out that way in practice. It is impossible to separate socialism from communism because the former (an economic system) inevitably leads to the latter (a sociopolitical system). Why? Because centralized economic control only works if citizens have no rights.

Conservative Artist Trolls Hollywood With Billboards Ahead of Oscars

A conservative artist that goes by the name of Sabo hijacked three billboards in Hollywood on Wednesday to put up signs calling out the industry’s sexual harassment scandals.

With a nod to the Oscar nominated film “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri,” the artist erected three giant signs to cover the existing ads. The large red and black overlays went after people in the entertainment industry who allegedly knew and did nothing about the alleged sexual misconduct of Harvey Weinstein and others, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“And the Oscar for biggest pedophile goes to…” a screenshot of one of the signs read.

Feds Indict US-Israeli Man Responsible for 9% of All Anti-Semitic Acts in 2017

Federal prosecutors Wednesday charged a U.S.-Israeli dual citizen with hate crime and other offenses in connection with more than a hundred threats he allegedly phoned into Jewish community centers and organizations last year.

Michael Ron David Kadar, 19, was indicted in federal courts in Georgia, Florida and Washington, D.C. after an investigation into numerous threats against the community centers and high-profile Jewish organizations, including the Anti-Defamation League and Israeli embassy in Washington.

Prosecutors in Florida say Kadar, who is Jewish, made multiple calls involving bomb threats and active shooter threats to Jewish Community Centers throughout the state. The Florida indictment also charges Kadar with attempting to obstruct the free exercise of religion at the community centers.

Returning Jihadis From West Belong in Criminal Justice System, Not Counseling, Heritage Report Says

A new study says the best way to deal with the vexing problem of Islamic fighters from Western countries who return home is to get them into the criminal justice system, rather than counseling, and to jail those who deserve it.

“Western governments should hold fighters who joined Islamist foreign conflicts and then return to their home countries legally accountable for their actions under domestic or international law,” states a Heritage Foundation report, entitled “Foreign Fighters: The Rule of Law is the Best Response to Islamist Fighters from Western Countries,” which is due out later this week.

“Legal accountability — and, when appropriate, incapacitation — would send a much-needed signal to those who choose to join terrorists that future ‘foreign fighter’ travel is completely unacceptable,” the report said.

The challenge of how to deal with Islamist fighters returning to their Western homes has sparked contentious debate in recent years, particularly since ISIS has actively sought to stock its ranks with citizens of those nations.

EU-Backed ‘Social Justice’ Group Behind Rise in Social Media Hate Speech Prosecutions

A Swedish online “social justice” group comprised of lawyers, former police officers, and other professionals are said to be behind the rise of prosecutions against Swedes for “hate speech” on social media platforms.

The group, which calls itself Näthatsgranskaren, Swedish for “Network Examiner,” gathers data on social media posts deemed to be breaking Sweden’s hate speech laws and reports them to police. Since the group began their actions a year ago, 77 hate speech cases have been brought against Swedish residents, broadcaster SVT reports.

So far, the group has identified 800 or so “hate posts” which they have reported to authorities, though of these only 13 per cent have been acted upon.

“We have developed a programme that searches for criminal networks on social media by searching for keywords, combinations of words, and phrases that can constitute criminal acts,” said the group’s project manager Tomas Åberg.

Finland Plans ‘Arctic Corridor’ Linking China to Europe

If it happens, it will be the shortest, most direct route for goods between Asia and Europe ever.

Spurred by China’s massive Belt and Road Initiative, decision-makers in Finland and Norway are speeding up talks on a so-called Arctic Corridor.

Cargo ships from Asia will off-load in Kirkenes or elsewhere in northern Norway on the shores of the Arctic Ocean, saving thousands of nautical miles as compared to the route through the Suez Canal.

The ships would pick up European exports while goods from Asia would travel on rail through Finland, through a tunnel to Estonia and from there reach central Europe in record time.

Two vital and so far lacking components — some 500km of rails from Norway to Finland’s existing rails and a tunnel from Finland to Estonia — have frightened planners so far, but new prospects of Chinese funding are providing fresh impetus.

Skull of ‘Oldest Dutchwoman’ Found Beneath the North Sea

Part of a prehistoric human skull and a bison bone decorated with a zigzag pattern — dubbed the world’s “oldest Dutchwoman” and “oldest Dutch artwork” — have been revealed by scientists in the Netherlands, in research that highlights a sunken treasure trove of human archaeology beneath the North Sea.

Dutch fishermen found the partial skull and decorated bone on separate occasions in recent years, in parts of the submerged lands that linked continental Europe and the British Isles until about 9,000 years ago.

Both finds date from the end of the last ice age, around 13,000 years ago, when most of the North Sea was a vast plain of dry land up to 260 feet (80 meters) above sea level — a region scientists call Doggerland after the shallow fishing grounds of Dogger Bank between the Netherlands and the U.K. The grounds were named after the medieval Dutch fishing boats called doggers.

Turkey: Islamist TV Host Resigns After Threatening to Kill Civilians in Secular Istanbul Neighborhoods

‘Burmese Bin Laden’: Facebook Removes Page of Buddhist Monk After Racist Rant

The notorious firebrand Buddhist monk Ashin Wirathu, also known as the “Burmese bin Laden,” has been kicked off Facebook for violating its community standards.

Wirathu, who has used social media to disseminate anti-Muslim hate speech and racist comments, was kicked off the platform in January. A Facebook spokesman told Agence France-Press that the page violated its standards, prompting the social network to take action.

In an email to Fox News, a Facebook spokesperson said: “Our Community Standards prohibit organizations and people dedicated to promoting hatred and violence against others based on their protected characteristics. If a person consistently shares content promoting hate, we may take a range of actions such as temporarily suspending their ability to post and ultimately, removal of their account.”

Infamous Pakistani Cleric Keeps ‘Martyr’ Bin Laden Library, Vows Worldwide Sharia

Maulana Mohammad Abdul Aziz is considered one of the most dangerous, yet influential, men in Pakistan.

And while his movements in the country are restricted by the government, the 57-year-old former head cleric of Islamabad’s oldest mosque — Lal Masjid, better known as the Red Mosque — is still allowed to inspire new generations with his radical rhetoric.

“We don’t see Pakistan anymore our destination, we will come out as a force to establish Islamic rule over the entire world,” Aziz told Fox News last week in a telephone interiew, from his Islamabad compound known as Jamia Hafsa, a seminary school that boasts around 1500 girls and 2000 boys. “You will see the change within 10 years — if you stay alive.”

Council Discusses Space Threats and Opportunities Posed by China

A discussion of China at the latest National Space Council meeting took a more nuanced view of the country than is typical in such conversations, seeing the rising space power as a competitor and adversary but also a potential partner.

A panel discussion on national security space at the Council’s Feb. 21 meeting at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center focused primarily on the growing capabilities of, and the growing threat posed by, China’s space efforts, including the development of counterspace capabilities that could disrupt American space systems in the event of a conflict.

“Russia and China are each developing counterspace capabilities to use during a potential future conflict with the United States to reduce U.S. and allied advantage and effectiveness, eroding our information advantage,” said Susan Gordon, principal deputy director of national intelligence.

We May Have Already Found Signs of Alien Microbes on Enceladus

Microbes that produce methane may already be living on Enceladus, a moon of Saturn which is tipped to host life because it boasts a liquid water ocean beneath a crust of solid ice, and strange atmospheric plumes of water. That’s the implication of research showing that an earthbound organism which also produces methane can happily survive in conditions known to exist on Enceladus, from observations by the Cassini space probe before its mission ended last year.

Isolated from deep sea vents almost 1000 metres deep in the Okinawa Trough off Japan, Methanothermococcus okinawensis was subjected to gruelling physical and chemical conditions found on Enceladus for more than five years.

This microbe, called a methanogenic archaeon, survives without oxygen by combining hydrogen and carbon dioxide — both observed in Enceladus’s atmosphere — to make the energy it needs, emitting methane as a waste product. Cassini detected traces of methane in Enceladus’s plumes, and there’s a chance that some of it may have come from this kind of microbe.

“The conditions we mimicked in the lab are as close as possible to those inferred from Cassini on Enceladus,” says Simon Rittmann at the University of Vienna in Austria, who led the investigations.

Signal Detected From ‘Cosmic Dawn’

Scientists say they have observed a signature on the sky from the very first stars to shine in the Universe.

They did it with the aid of a small radio telescope in the Australian outback that was tuned to detect the earliest ever evidence for hydrogen.

This hydrogen was in a state that could only be explained if it had been touched by the intense light of stars.

The team puts the time of this interaction at a mere 180 million years after the Big Bang.

Land Expropriation Without Compensation Passes in Parly

JOHANNESBURG — The National Assembly has given the go-ahead for section 25 of the Constitution to be amended to give effect to government policy of expropriating land without compensation.

In a heated debate in the National Assembly, MPs from South Africa’s governing African National Congress (ANC) and its biggets political foes, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), were on the same page, as were some other smaller parties.

“Today, let it be the day of black unity in the name of Robert Sobukwe,” EFF leader Julius Malema said, opening the debate on the day, forty years ago, that Pan Africanist Congress (PAC) founder Robert Sobukwe died.

“We don’t seek revenge. We don’t wish for their suffering. All our people ever wanted was their land to which their dignity is rooted,” said Malema.

Malema rejected notions that it would be unconstitutional to amend the Constitution.

“All of us must come together and say enough is enough. Our people must get the land. We offer the ANC our six percent to amend the Constitution.those who don’t agree will continue to ridicule our struggle, because they don’t know the pain of losing land.”

Cabinet Minister Gugile Nkwinti reminded MPs that a recent land audit showed that whites, despite being the smallest population group in the country, owned over 70 percent of the land. Coloureds owned 15 percent of the land, Indians five percent and black Africans, by far the majority, only four percent.

African People’s Convention MP Themba Godi welcomed the way MP handled themselves during the debate, saying they were “sowing the seeds for black solidarity”.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s office says leaders of police and civil defense forces are ordered to coordinate with the military and governors of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states to “ensure deployment of personnel to all schools.”

Cape Town — The National Assembly on Tuesday set in motion a process to amend the Constitution so as to allow for the expropriation of land without compensation.

The motion, brought by the EFF leader Julius Malema, was adopted with a vote of 241 in support, and 83 against.

Opening the debate on his motion, Malema said: “The time for reconciliation is over. Now is the time for justice.”

He said they did not seek revenge on white people, but a restoration of black people’s dignity, which was deeply rooted in the land.

Gugile Nkwinti, who was minister of rural affairs and land reform until Monday evening (now minister of water affairs), said: “The ANC unequivocally supports the principle of land expropriation without compensation.”

Atacama’s Lessons About Life on Mars

Even in the driest places on Earth there is life eking out an existence, it seems.

Scientists have examined the soils in those parts of the Atacama desert that may not see any rains for decades.

Still, the team led from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany, found evidence of microbes that have adapted to the extreme conditions.

These hardy organisms are of interest because they may serve as a template for how life could survive on Mars.

Remains of ‘Maya Underworld’ Found in World’s Longest Submerged Cave

But archaeologist Guillermo de Anda thinks the discovery of the narrow passageway is just the start of stunning findings inside the system now collectively known as Sac Actun. The long expanse of caverns is not only a natural wonder but also a time capsule that stretches back to the last ice age. While exploring the caves, de Anda’s team has counted nearly 200 spots with archaeological remains, including Maya altars, ancient human bones and the fossils of extinct animals. They even found the bones of what may be a once-unknown human.

Avramopoulos Calls for ‘Common Global Understanding’ on Managing Migrant Flows

European Commissioner for Migration and Home Affairs Dimitris Avramopoulos has called for a “common global understanding on how to manage flows of migrants and refugees worldwide.”

His comments were made in Brussels Tuesday during an interparliamentary committee meeting on the UN global compacts on refugees and migrants and the role of national parliaments. The compacts are set to be adopted by the end of the year.

“It is a unique opportunity to develop a broader common understanding on how to humanly and efficiently manage migration together, now and in the long term,” Avramopoulos said, adding that was not a national or European responsibility, “but a global one.”

Feds Provide Almost $2 Billion in Subsidies to Hire Alien Grads Rather Than U.S. Grads

The Optional Practical Training (OPT) program, in which the American government pays American employers to discriminate against American workers has grown rapidly in recent years, and during FY 2017 it used nearly $2 billion swiped from trust funds for the elderly to favor 240,000 alien college grads over an equal number of U.S.-resident grads.

It is hard to believe, but true; employers of foreign students who have a degree from a U.S. institution are given an 8.25 percent tax break if they hire an alien, rather than a U.S. college grad with the same skills, and paid at the same salary, as we described in some detail in a recent posting.

Soros-Funded NGO Providing Guidebooks to Illegal Migrants

Illegal migrants are being provided with guidebooks published by a George Soros front group, Hungary’s chief security advisor has told state media.

According to György Bakondi, an unnamed German civil society organization (NGO) has been supplying literature to migrants that instructs them on the best methods and pathways for reaching European soil, as well as directions how to deceive authorities and elude border security systems.

“This is damaging, dangerous, and could have major internal security repercussions,” Bakondi said. “The mass illegal immigration we are facing is not spontaneous, but is being managed in an organized manner.”

  1. UK Police Arrest 3 Men Over Blast That Killed 5 People

Since when was ‘Aram Kurd’ (the owner; his house is currently being searched!) a Polish name?
    Curiouser and curiouser, cried Alice.

And Plod are still claiming there is no terrorist connection.

  2. In Russia there is a monstrous substitution of the basic concepts.
It’s very difficult for me to express my thoughts in English, but I’ll try.

Русский (russkiy)- Russian – belonging to the Russian nation
Россиянин (rossiyanin) – Russian – the one who lives in Russia

For you it is almost one word. And now let’s read the latest news:

The names of 25 Russian women released from captivity in Iraq became known
    https://ria.ru/society/20180301/1515491736.html
Mostly listed are Chechen, Ingush, Tatar and Central Asian names.

Russian women ask Iraqi authorities for condescension for their daughters
    https://ria.ru/world/20180228/1515462293.html
Next followed by “full pain” stories from Dagestan and Tatar women.

Not only that we do not have a homeland and a capital (which was seized by Caucasians and migrants), even our nationality was stolen.

  3. “We are not calling for the slaughter of white people — at least for now.”

    “…at least for now.”

    That’s comforting.

      • I would like to see EU countries, in particular the UK,
Holland and Germany grant immediate, priority asylum
To all fleeing white farmers and their families.

They have something to offer, unlike most of the third
World, economic, illegal, third world asylum seekers
Who have been received with such largesse.

So much for the Rainbow Nation, Mandela was a false
Prophet, once he was out of the way reverse apartheid
Swung into action, you think Zimbabwe is a basket
Case, just wait and see what a dust bowl SA will be
        In a decade.

Foreign investment will dry up apart from China, who
Will extract their pound of flesh, taking no nonsense
From these amateur, socialist African politicians.

Meanwhile comments from European Governments on
“The no need to slaughter them yet” comment, ZILCH.

But in reality the slaughter has already started as
Isolated white farmers and families are already being
Tortured and murdered with impunity, making their
Profession one of the most dangerous in the world
Imagine if a European politician had made a similar
Comment about a minority in their country? He would
Be removed on the spot, check or even jailed for a hate
        Crime.

Obviously racism doesn’t apply if you are Caucasian
According to our shamefully, ethnomasachistc, self
Loathing, hypocritical European Heads of States.

  4. I could read the writing on the wall 25 years back, from 10,000 miles away. Were the whites in SA unable to decode their future?
