The Battle of Germany Was Won on the Playgrounds of Berlin

Yesterday we posted a photo of a mosque-themed playground in Berlin. In response, a reader sends this photo of a playground in Hasenheide, Berlin:

Apropos of nothing in particular, Egri Nök tells me that “Hasenheide” means “Bunny Meadow”. As a compulsive etymologist, I must point out that hase(n) is cognate with the English “hare”, and heide with “heath”.

  1. That figure needs some creative playing with.

I suggest a mujaheddin beard, a bomb in his right and an ISIS flag in his left hand. Then photograph, film, distribute.

Any creative, courageous people left in Berlin???

    Didn’t think so …

PS: I also recall that park being a refuge for drug dealers. Which kinda makes the statue very apropos.

  2. No sign of the mounds of litter yet, the litter that Arabs and Turks of all ages strew in copious quantities in Berlin and wherever else they go.

    Think: hasenpfeffer
